Absolutely amazing experience!
Have been twice to do the tasting with the take home photo bottle and loved it.
A small family winery producing absolutely fantastic wine!
Beautiful views, lovely proprietors and quality products.
Love supporting small businesses like this.

Unkempt gardens and parking area, no signage re parking or entry.
Absolute horrible smell of mould on entry. No welcome or acknowledgement once you get inside. No atmosphere, nothing to entice you to enter we went in on the off chance that inside was going to be better than outside, sadly it was not.

$10 pp. tasting fee charged no matter how few you taste or even if you purchase any bottles of wine. Interesting winery 🍷 with a detailed story from Paul, the Owner, on our visit. Parking is out front & entry is on the LHS of the building. Definitely worth a visit. Just remember the tasting fee is not deducted from your purchase 😢.

The range of red and whites was very good, but the fortified ports and honey wines were very special.

This winery is honestly one of the best in Queensland if not the whole country. Every time I come to Queensland, I always make a stop to this winery. Some of the best wines I ever tasted were made here! The owners are extremely friendly and are happy to share the history of the winery.

My only improvement would be they could tidy up better and keep on top of mess. Also we went in to get cake and breakfast still hadn’t been cleared for the hotel guests so it was just half in and out. A bit strange.
I would visit again and enjoy a spot on the grass.

We have lived in the area for many years and finally ventured to this Winery today. What a hidden little gem. We had a great tasting with Peter who was extremely knowledgeable about the processes of making red, white, sparkling wine and port. Highly recommend and look forward to going back.

My sister and I went there today, looked a little run outside id say due to the storms everyone’s recently had but we had a great time. The gentleman we had was lovely and great jokes , great cheeseboard and wine. They also sell honey and you can not go past the creamed lemon honey I bought one jar but the family has already been through a quarter in one afternoon so will need to go back and buy more!

A truly wonderful and one of a kind experience. The drive to the winery was so picturesque as well as the interior of the winery itself. It was so rustic and held so much history. Paul; one of the owners ensured that our experience was very memorable. It was perfect for the family. I am definitely coming back!

We just recently had a wine tasting at Mount Nathan Winery and it was an amazing experience. The staff were so knowledgeable about the wineries history and the wine was exceptional.
We sat and had the cheese platter and a wine while choosing our wines to take home. We had them ship our order home for us and it arrived so well packed and no damage.
Thank you for the experience.

Definitely the worst winery ever. Rude staff, and bad communication between the staff.
We hosted an event here in February, but went to check out the winery in December and told the chef that we were looking at 60-70 people at least. The chef said that as long as we told them 3-4 days beforehand, it would be fine. Even though the chef said 3-4 days beforehand, we decided that we would update our numbers every week. When we had our final numbers (around 110), they said that they couldn't accommodate us, even though we updated our numbers every week, which they confirmed. I can understand that 110 people is a lot so even if they said they can't make lunch for 110 people but can for 60, that would have been fine. However, when we asked about 60 people, they said they couldn't even do that.
The second issue is the communication between their staff. We booked through Fiona. However, when we called up the winery, Peter (I'm guessing the boss) picked up the phone. He told us that he didn't even see our booking in their system, and this was the day before the event. We were also told that the wine tasting would include all the wine on their list, however, some of our members informed us that they were told to pay an extra $20 after tasting one specific wine. They weren't even told beforehand.
The third issue is that both Fiona and Peter didn't seem to care about anyone from our group. We had around 3 groups of 20 people doing the wine tasting. When we approached Fiona saying that there wasn't enough plastic wine tasting cups, she literally shrugged and said "what do you want me to do about it, you're the one with the large booking".
The fourth issue is the wine cellar. When we first visited in December, we were told that the tour of the winery included a visit to the wine cellar. However, on the day of the event, Peter said "due to covid-19 regulations, the wine cellar is off limits". Peter's son said "since you guys didn't book the wine cellar tour, you can't go".
I can understand that you have other customers and other groups. Having another group before us but not getting them out on time, meaning all 110 of us had to wait in a room with only 20 chairs is not the way to solve this issue. We were literally told that we couldn't even use the lobby area until the other group left just because they're from a tour group and that you didn't want to "upset them".
Our group of 110 people, along with our sponsors, will never be coming back to this winery again. None of this would have been an issue if: (1) the staff were to communicate properly; (2) if you had treated our group with more respect; (3) if you had communicated with us regarding the lunch and wine cellar a couple days before the event.

Arrived today Friday for a wine tasting and lunch after a pleasant chat on the phone recently. Enjoyed the wines very much and appreciated our dog was included. However we decided to sit outside on the deck and was disappointed to see it untidy, with tree litter, bird droppings etc. We aren’t overly fussy but thought such a pity (we cleaned our own chairs and table) in such a lovely venue with great wine. We were also disappointed in the individual wine descriptions. A great place with so much potential. We have visited many wineries over the past few years in our travels around Australia.

Whilst holidaying at Cedar Lake in November we took advantage of an invitation to visit the winery. Peter picked us up and drove us to a private tasting conducted by son Paul. It was a warm and friendly experience with lots of information and anecdotes re the family’s long history in the industry. An impressive cheese platter and a bottle of champagne made by the traditional method, whilst sitting on the deck completed a wonderful experience. Beware, the wine is good, the liqueurs sublime and you are hard to please if you leave without some samples. Thank you Paul and Peter ; a wonderful memory thoroughly enjoyable experience

We spent a pleasant afternoon sitting on the deck at Mt Nathan Winery sipping on their wines. A lovely venue, with friendly staff, which makes for a very relaxing experience. However the highlight was feeding the sheep and alpaca. As soon as anyone ventured near their paddock they come running to the gate to greet them. A great idea to keep the kids occupied while mum and dad are wine tasting!

Massive Shout out to Mount Nathan Winery who have played a big part of our festive celebrations. Our loved ones recieved gifts of wine this year and feedback has had 100% positive feedback. We celebrated with mt nathan bubbles which was embraced. The Chardonnay paired with the seafood platter perfectly with everyone at the table all offering such great feedback. Celebrations with SB also well received. We are so greatful to be able to give this family business a plug, offer our support and recommendations.

My wife and I did the wine tasting on the weekend and we were both blown away by the quality of the wines. So much so we took a box full of wines home but only after we shared a tasty cheese platter out on the deck. The weather was great so overall it was a terrific visit to Mount Nathan. Will definitely go back.
Cheers.
