The Yarra Valley with its backdrop of mountains and rivers, is not only home to world-class wine and produce but also gorgeous views and so many kangaroos!
The best time to spot wild Kangaroos is at Sunset, which is when the fun really starts and we go on a Kangaroo safari! But first, we start the afternoon with the best of the valley’s wine, cheese, and chocolates!
This exclusive small group public tour with a maximum of 12 guests includes tastings at the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery, plus a visit to Domaine Chandon where you can purchase sparkling wine and cheese platters or oysters!
We will also visit the Yarra Valley Dairy for Cheese tastings, PLUS an additional winery for more wine tastings!

- Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery – This tour includes private chocolate tastings at the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery, one of the most exciting and vibrant venues in the Yarra Valley! Sample a variety of chocolate flavours then browse and shop over 200 chocolate and truffle varieties made onsite. Oh and don’t forget about the incredible ice cream!
- Kangaroo Safari at Sunset – As the sun starts to sink behind the mountains the Kangaroos become more active and we’ll head into the lower Yarra Valley where the river flows and Kangaroos hide away during the day!

In just 6 hours, we packed in so much: strawberry picking, an incredible cheese tasting (honestly the best cheeses — I wish I could've taken some home!), a stop at Chandon (yes, the LVMH one) where the sparkling red was a standout, followed by a 5-wine tasting at another winery, then chocolate tasting, and finally the highlight — seeing kangaroos up close and in abundance.Our host Curt was fantastic — friendly, knowledgeable, and shared great stories about Australia along the way. Relaxed Day in Wine Country Craig was a great tour guide! We hired him to take us on a vineyard tour through the Yarra Valley. He recommended a stop at a local dairy for cheese tasting as well. He was relaxed and flexible with timing. He was able to suggest additional stops when we had some extra time (local native art and kangaroo viewing). Awesome tour My wife Nancy and I went on the Yarra Valley Chandon and cheese and sunset kangaroos tour. It was awesome. Several wonderful wineries, great dairy cheese, scrumptious chocolate, and plenty of kangaroos at sunset.Our guide Kurt was fantastic. A wonderful and memorable tour of the Yarra Valley!
I thoroughly enjoyed the tour which was perfectly balanced between cheese tasting, farm fresh strawberries, wineries, chocolate and an incredible experience of seeing kangaroos in the wild.
Craig was a friendly, knowledgeable and funny tour guide. The timings were spot on and the arrangements were seamless.

Wonderful Day & Unforgettable Experience
We had a truly wonderful experience today. The entire day was perfectly planned and full of amazing moments.
We started our journey with a visit to the strawberry farms, where we enjoyed fresh strawberry and cherry tasting — a delightful and refreshing start. Next, we visited a cheese tasting spot, and it was a really great experience with rich flavors and varieties.
After that, we visited two different places for wine tasting. Both wine tasting experiences were excellent and very well explained, making them enjoyable even for first-time tasters.
One of the highlights of the day was the chocolate tasting — wow! It was an absolutely fantastic experience. We loved it so much that we purchased generous bags of chocolates for our family and friends.
The final and most exciting stop was the golf course for the kangaroo safari. It was simply the best moment of the day — seeing kangaroos jumping right in front of us was magical and unforgettable.
A special thanks to Kurt, our tour guide, who truly made our day memorable with his wonderful storytelling, humor, and friendly nature. His jokes and knowledge kept us entertained throughout the journey.

We had the best tour today with Mark.
We started with a dairy farm, stopped at Chandon and lunch at Soumah with a last glass of wine at Riverstone Estate for outstanding views. We couldn’t have asked for a better day. Marc was very professional, attentive to our expectations and created a fantastic experience for us.

We had made some arrangements for a stay in the Yarra Valley and, because our accommodations--Yerring Valley Cottages--were remote, we needed some detailed transportation arrangements. First we needed. transport from Melbourne Tulamarine Airport to the cottages that included a stop at a grocery along the way for provisions, We also needed a wine, food and nature tour of the Yarra Valley. Finally we needed transport after our stay into Melbourne. We contacted Yarra Valley Touring company and Craig arranged all of this with one go at a very reasonable price.
The pickup and transport from MEL was flawless. The Wine Tour was exceptional with a great choice of historical wineries (boutique and luxurious) and actually ended at the best place around to see Kangaroos--Yering Gorge Cottages, our accommodations (and there are HUNDREDS of Kangaroos around).
The driver even gave us some tips about hiking around the property and where to find the resident wombat--which we did. Finally, when they picked us up at the cottages and provided door-to-door transport to our next accommodations in Melbourne.
Absolutely the best, friendliest, most responsive and most informative tour/transport firm I have ever used. Five stars! 10 out of 10. Would definitely use again!

Incredible experience! Craig is entertaining and very informative. The location visits were delicious. Wine, fresh fruits, cheese, chocolates, kangaroos and local farms. What more could we have asked for.

We had an amazing, tasty and informative tour with Craig in the Yarra Valley, with plenty of delicious stops from freshly picked fruits, creamy cheese, various wines to chocolate. It was accompanied by lots of interesting information not only about the valley, but also about the history of Melbourne. And he made sure we spotted plenty of wild Kangaroos on the way, which is an incredible addition! I can only recommend this tour, amazing value for money and plenty of nice memories!

Had a really great time with The Yarra Valley Touring Company! Mark was a great guide and accommodated to our request for Asian lunch even though he didnt have to. Throughout the tour, Mark took extra effort to bring us on slight detours, to show us the unique wildlife in Australia. This enhanced our tour and brought a special flavour to our tour. Really learned a great deal from Mark's sharing and would engage The Yarra Valley Touring Company if I have the chance again. In fact, we would be touring with them to the Great Ocean Road tomorrow! Amazing day in the Yarra Valley Fantastic day in the Yarra Valley. Craig was so accommodating and flexible in terms of planning our private tour of the Yarra Valley. Started off at a diary for cheese tastings followed by wine at Yerring Station and Chandon where we had a light lunch. We also visited a charming family owned gin distillery. Try the chilli gin at your peril! The countryside was stunning and the trip ended with kangaroo spotting prior to being dropped off at our hotel in Melbourne. It was a brilliant day and we loved it.

Excellent wine tour at Yarra Valley My mom and I booked a last minute wine tour with Craig and we had a wonderful time! It was only the two of us for that day so we felt like we had a private tour! We had a great experience! Met three lovely, knowledgeable tour guides who shared not only their wine expertise but also local history. The choice of venues was superb, a perfect mix of smaller boutique wineries and two of the more well-known ones and some cheese tasting, yummy 😋. The small group of six made the day feel personal and relaxed, and we later joined one of the other groups for tastings and food at Chandon ❤️. We finished the day at a new local gin distillery. A perfect ending to a wonderful day. Beautiful car, beautiful weather, great tour guides couldn’t have asked for more!

Fantastic and memorable Yarra Valley experience! The tour was absolutely wonderful.There were only six of us in the group, and our guide Kurt was amazing — very friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the Yarra Valley. During the drive, he shared lots of fun facts and interesting stories about the Yarra River, Yarra Valley, and even some cool Melbourne trivia, which made the journey really enjoyable.
The schedule was well-paced, never rushed, and we had plenty of time to enjoy each stop. Kurt also took us to safely observe wild kangaroos and explained many fascinating things about them.
It was such a pleasant, fun, and memorable experience — I’d highly recommend this tour (and especially Kurt!) to anyone visiting Melbourne.

Fun day out for all We had the best time out with both Craig and Kurt. Both guides were knowledgable and kept us entertained the whole trip. We were picked up from our door step (all the way from warburton) and nothing was too much for either guide!Tour was great value, visiting a mix of small and large wineries with a great size group. Would highly recommend to everyone and will definitely tell family and friends back home!

Absolutely amazing fully packed experience with great wines and kangaroos Absolutely amazing day. Kirk was very informative as we travelled to the yarra valley. Tried some really nice wines. Had amazing cheese tasting. Some lovely fresh strawberries and chocolate tasting. Kirk took care of us all day ensuring all our needs were met and to top it all off his knowledge of where the kangaroos would be and timings made for some great up close experience of kangaroos and photos. Fantastic Yarra Valley Experience for the Whole Family Tom and Steve were absolutely amazing guides! Their commentary was engaging and spot on. I originally thought a wine tour might be boring for kids, but it was quite the opposite — they loved it and had so much fun. The schedule was well-paced, the scenery in the Yarra Valley was breathtaking, and spotting kangaroos hopping through the vineyards was such a highlight. Easy, Scenic & Delicious – Perfect Day Trip from Melbourne I recently joined a Yarra Valley day tour with The Yarra Valley Touring Co., and it was the perfect way to escape the city for a few hours of wine, cheese, chocolate — and kangaroos!Our guide, Tom, made the whole experience light, fun, and genuinely enjoyable. He’s well-versed in Melbourne’s history, shared great stories along the way, and kept the group engaged without ever overdoing it. Super knowledgeable, but never too serious — just the right balance.

We love Craig and his team to bring us around in Yarra Valley. He knows the Yarra Valley community very well (the history, food, farms, people and secret places). We had so much fun to try strawberry, apple, cheese and wine!

Absolutely the best tour from Melbourne to the Yarra Valley! Craig is an incredibly personable and an excellent tour guide. He kept us on time, went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying our time. The search for the Kangaroos was a highlight and he allowed for time to get as close as possible, take pictures and find their favourite spots. The duration of the tour is perfect, not too long or too short! I would recommend this to anyone searching for cheese, chocs, champagne, wine, and roos!

The best tour! Perfectly timed, lots of cheese, chocs, wine, champers and roos to fill your boots! Craig is an excellent guide and host, never rushing and always making sure we are having a good time. I was looking for just a day trip less than 8 hours and this gave me a perfect taste of the Yarra Valley. Highly recommend!!read moreread less

A wonderful break from Melbourne and tennis We booked this at the last minute, and we are soooo glad we did! Kurt was an amazing and knowledgeable guide. The stops were well thought out and we enjoyed every single one of them. Cheese, Champagne, Chocolate and Wine?? Top it off with kangaroos. Made my trip and my birthday. Heard they are doing new tours to the great ocean way. Would not hesitate to book with these guys, you won't regret it! Wish I had more time to do another tour :) And one more piece of advice do not skip the ice cream!

Craig was excellent guide, delivering at every stop. Presentations at cheese, wine, and chocolate tastings were informative and entertaining. And we saw 100s of kangaroos in the wild. Pacing for the day was perfect and value was just right. A great day.

A Wonderful Day We had a fantastic time with our guide, Curtis. We loved the Chandon Winery in particular, but also the cheese and chocolates were abundant and yummy! My favorite part was probably the kangaroos at the end. I'm an amateur photographer so I loved getting a chance to take pics of so many awesome kangaroos! This was one of the best things we did on our two week trip to Australia.read moreread less

Amazing Day trip! The best highlight for our melbourne trip is definitely this day trip by lovely Craig. He really went all out to ensure everyone (4 adults who dun drink and 4 kids) gonna have a really good and memorable time. Super duper Highly recommended to all! ❤️

Very nice experience — tour guide Craig was very knowledgeable and fun! We loved also the additional information about Melbourne’s history on the ride out of the city. The itinerary is very well planned, not too much driving and not too much (or any) waiting at all. We liked that we were a small group so it felt almost like a private tour.

Great half day tour with Craig as our awesome guide, chose this tour as it started slightly later and we got to see kangaroos! Recieved a reminder email a day before with the meeting details! Meeting location was at Federation Square Bus & Coach Pickup Drop-off area, there was a toilet there before boarding the mini-van. While driving out of the city, Craig shared some history of the area even giving us quizzes with prizes. The first stop was Yarra Valley Dairy which was about an hour ride, and we got to try different type of cheese. The next stop was 5mins away, Chandon, where we got free salted fries, and purchased our own sparkling wine to try. Next stop was the Yering Station Winery where we got to taste different types of wine, followed by the next stop at the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery, where we got to taste multiple chocolates. Time was given to purchase your own Ice cream and chocolates as souvenirs. Finally, we were driven into the exclusive eastern golf club to see kangaroos! We had an hour drive back to Federation Square to conclude the tour around 7.15pm. overall a delightful tour experience.

Craig is very nice and knowledgeable about all the wine, chocolate, kangaroos and Australia! The trip to Yarra Valley makes my stay in Melbourne (which I have no previous expectations at all). Highly recommend to everyone who wants to enjoy some hidden gems during their stay in Melbourne! (Thanks to Craig!)

Beautiful experience traveling to Yarra Valley Diary, Domaine Chandon, Yering Station Winery, Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery Kangaroo Viewing Trail! We got up close and personal to Kangaroos at Yering Gorge Cottages! Love the experience would recc this to anyone who is interested to explore Yarra Valley! :)

Best winery tour, look no further! We had an amazing time on this incredible wine tour. The places we visited were beautiful with the wines and grazing options being just as good.Our guide Kurt was awesome, providing a plethora of knowledge about the area and helping us newbies dip our toes in to the world of wine tasting. He was personable, fun, down to earth and made sure we had an enjoyable time every step of the way.
