Very good lunch & cheese nicely spaced & took the trouble to show us wild kangaroos as well.
Definitely recommend
Some excellent wines along the way, all stops we were received professionally. The wine & cheese matching well needed before we had lunch itself. No pressure to buy but we picked up a stone fruit laden dessert wine on route. Cam, our driver was great
Our visit at Healesville Sanctuary was soooo interesting. It is a wonderful place. The animals and plants are so well taken care of. Rob told us interesting facts about the Galah, scat of the Wombat, coffee growing and the tree Kangaroo, and the incredible Kangaroo Apple plant. The bird demonstration was truly amazing.
Both wineries that we visited we super! Yering Station provided a very informative wine tasting and the lunch there was so good! De Bortolie was also nice with their wine and cheese tasting!
The pickup and dropoff was so easy. The ride in the small van was comfortable. The entire day, which was from 9 to 6:30 was great. It was definitely the highlight of our trip.
I feel like we have a great new Australian friend. Thank you Rob!!!
The tour itself was excellent. Six of us on the tour which was great to be in a small group. Visited 2 wineries in the morning, followed by an excellent lunch at Merricks General Store, then 2 wineries in the afternoon before heading back to the city.
The wineries Paul took us to were a great mixture & he was so knowledgeable about the wines & owners he knows. It was such a friendly & informative tour.
Would highly recommend using Vinetrekker for wine tours around Melbourne & Mornington Peninsula was particularly beautiful so we’re very glad we chose to explore that region.
His local wine knowledge was invaluable and helped us to navigate the tastings to make sure we got the best of each winery.
Thoroughly recommend booking a tour with VineTrekker.
We had Cam as our guide, who was super friendly and knowledgeable! The new Merc vehicle was also a nice touch!
Throughly enjoyed the wines, cheeses, lunch and visiting the animals! Again, Cam knew where the animals were hiding and ensured we saw everything.
I would 100% recommend this tour company. The communication was great and Paul was extremely helpful. Was nice to have a personal touch rather than booking through the ‘well known’ companies.
Thanks for a perfect end to our Melbourne stop! :)
Adrian was a great tour guide, not only giving us more details on the wineries, the countryside, and some history, but also being very engaging and friendly, making everyone feel welcomed.
We visited 4 wineries: De Bortoli, Yering Station Winery (where we also had lunch), Coldstream Hills Winery (the winery of Australia's best known wine critic - James Halliday), and Medhurst Winery. Lunch was included and also delicious. Communication by Paul before the tour was excellent and I had no issues finding Adrian's van or where to meet him.
If you have the time for a day trip and enjoy wine, I highly recommend Vinetrekker's Yarra Valley tour.
The day was perfectly planned ensuring that you got to experience the best of Yara Valley in one day in a relaxed pace. Started in beautiful Healesville Sanctuary, then lunch with an incredible view followed by wine tastings including a paired wine and cheese tasting. They are experienced in this field and it shows. Paul made sure that everyone was comfortable having a good time and got to taste a variety of wines as well as wines of your preference.
It is a small group tour meaning you get to know the other people on the trip. Really good value and definitely worth it.
Communication prior to the trip was good. I was picked up at my hotel. Recommend for solo, couple and group travelers.
Enjoy!
We tasted some marvellous wines and the cheese matching ay De Bortoli was exceptional. Only 3 of us on the tour so felt like a very personal day's outing.
Would highly recommend
From the start, communication was seamless — I had to reschedule both the tour date and the Koala encounter, and everything was handled promptly and with such ease. On the day, the group was small and well-balanced, which made the experience more personal and relaxed.
Our host Paul was wonderful — warm, knowledgeable, and engaging throughout. His way of sharing stories and insights made the sanctuary and vineyards come alive, and he created an atmosphere that felt more like traveling with a group of friends than being on a tour. I truly appreciated his energy and kindness.
The Healesville Sanctuary was beautifully done, and seeing the wildlife up close was a highlight. The Yarra Valley vineyards were stunning, and the wine tasting was a joy. The whole day flowed so naturally, balancing information, fun, and quiet moments to take it all in.
Highly recommend this tour — it was memorable, well organised, and left me feeling enriched and grateful.
Paul our guide was great and very knowledgeable he stayed with us pointing out things. The lunch was delicious and we enjoyed all the wineries.
Was a scenic ride as well and would do tour again if back in Australia.
The atmosphere was very friendly, with plenty of engaging conversations and valuable insights from Shane as well as the winery staff.
We enjoyed excellent tastings, a great variety of wines, beautiful landscapes, and a welcoming environment. We learned so much and had an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend it.
Paul is extremely professional. He explained how to properly taste wine and how to pair it perfectly with food. He was humorous, warm, and attentive, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. On the way back, we were lucky enough to spot wild kangaroos and deer!
This is the most worthwhile one-day tour in Mel!
Paul was an excellent guide—punctual, very knowledgeable about Melbourne and the Yarra Valley, and extremely accommodating. The van was comfortable and made the day even more enjoyable.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we highly recommend Vinetrekker Wine Tours.
The tour guide was friendly and informative. The vehicle punctual, spotlessly clean and super comfortable. As guests, we were immediately made to feel comfortable with the other guests.
The venues selected showcased a variety of wine styles. A real highlight of this tour was meeting with the winemakers first hand and being able to learn so much about each specific vineyard.
There was ample food provided on the day, all of a high quality.
Shipping of wines interstate was quickly and professionally taken care of.
Extremely well organised with an engaging, knowledgeable and friendly guide.
Highly recommended.
The lunch was particularly good and with a glass of wine included. Paul is a knowledgeable, friendly and professional host and made good company throughout the day. Would fully recommend this day tour, not the cheapest but you get what you pay for: good value for the price.
His knowledge of wine, the locality the vineyard owners and history made it a special fun day.
No forcing you to buy, it was taste enjoy you decide. He even took us to a winery normally shut who opened just for him, a real event just our small group in a world famous boutique winery being served by the site manager and his 3 dogs.. it doesn’t get more personal.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this to wine lovers, wine novices, those wanting a day out of Melbourne. If we come back we would certainly go again, by the way you will get the best lunch of your trip with Paul and top views.
The food was amazing, awesome wine tasting and Rob our guide took really good care of us !
Would 100% recommend
Communication before the trip and throughout the day was very good.
We did 5 wineries/wine tastings and they were all of a very high quality, and all different which made it fun. Lunch at Yering was superb!
Each stop on the tour had unique aspects and made it worth the visit. Highly recommend!!
