Taribelang Bunda Cultural Tours is an immersive Indigenous experience
unique to the Bundaberg region, sharing rich history and culture of the
Taribelang people who have lived on Country for more than 60,000 years.

Taribelang Bunda guides Bec and Waszanna take guests on a
journey through time, sharing local Aboriginal culture and history that has
been passed on from generation to generation. Throughout the half-day tour, guests
will taste local bush tucker, learn how traditional artefacts such as the
Boomerang were used in daily life, and experience a genuine connection to the
land while visiting sites of significance across the region.

Developed with the Taribelang Bunda Elders, the tour offers
a unique opportunity for open conversation and connection through awareness,
brought through friendship and inclusivity. This cultural and historical
half-day tour is exclusive to the Bundaberg region and is a moving introduction
to the region’s vibrant Indigenous culture.

This experience is approximately 3-hours and is exclusive to the

Bundaberg region, operating with a minimum of 6 guests. 

Discover the true stories
of Taribelang Bunda and immerse yourself in Dreaming as you embark on this
half-day tour – A unique introduction to the Bundaberg regions rich aboriginal
culture and history.

Begin your day meeting and greeting your friendly Taribelang guides before
exploring the region’s most historical and culturally significant sights by bus.

Your first destination will introduce you to the mighty Burnett River where
shared stories of the towns recent historical events are told, bringing to light
the resilience and strength of the Bundaberg community, and introducing you
to Taribelang Country.

As you continue the beginning of your day towards the town’s kinship and bustling
CBD, cast your mind back to days before colonisation, where roundabouts where
once billabongs that welcomed many booroo, (booroo meaning kangaroo),
emus and others, before being guided towards the eastern side of Bundaberg, home
to the iconic Bundaberg Rum Distillery and Bundaberg Creek, both areas of great
significance to Taribelang Bunda.

Continuing your journey, arrive at The Hummock, a place for you to stretch
your legs and hear stories of Taribelang culture along with shared insight
of Aboriginal artefacts. After admiring the view and soaking in your learnings,
enjoy a short morning tea filled with native bush flavours that overload the senses.

In the afternoon, learn important teachings about caring for the land and immerse
yourself in Dreaming before discovering other sites of significance, such as
Mon Repos and Round Scrub that play an integral role in Taribelang history.

As you begin the return to your place of departure, come together to discuss the
journey forward as one and uncover the region’s exquisite Indigenous artworks
along the way, learning all the new and exciting community projects that are
making waves across town, a tribute to the region’s rich history and culture.

Corporation Office and returning all guests to place of departure.

·        Picnic style morning tea provided featuring tantalising bush flavours
(alternative dietary options are available upon request).

On your journey, you will learn some of the darker stories of our history
which can be emotional, due to this we recommended this experience for
those aged 8 years and above. If you do have younger children and would

THINGS TO KNOW
Before your arrival:

This is approximately a 3-hour group tour exclusive to the
Bundaberg region, operating with a minimum of 6 guests. In the instance minimum tour numbers are not met, our team will reach out directly.

  • On the day you will taste native bush flavours with a small morning tea provided. If you would like to bring additional snacks on your tour, you are welcome to do so also. Eating is not permitted on the bus. 

On the Day:
Our tour departures are from our Taribelang Bunda Cultural Tours office at 67 Perry Street,
Bundaberg North. Please arrive 15-minutes before your tour departure time.

Parking:
Street parking is available for all tour guests on Perry Street.

How to get there:

Self-drive:

From the south, head north on the Bruce Highway (A1). At Apple Tree Creek veer left onto Childers Road (State Route 3). Follow Childers Road (44km) until you arrive in Bundaberg. Continue north-east along Takalvan Street, (State Route 3 for 4km) and veer left onto the Tallon Bridge towards Gin Gin and turn right onto Thornhill Street. Turn right and continue along Thornhill Street (180m). Turn left onto Perry Street..


From the north, head south on the Bruce Highway (A1).
At Gin Gin veer left onto Bundaberg Gin Gin Rd (State Route 3).Follow Bundaberg Gin Gin and Mount Perry Road (47km) and continue onto Queen Street. At the second roundabout take the second exit and keep left onto Perry Street. 

Rail: Queensland Rail offers a number of rail travel options to and from Bundaberg, with accommodation packages and transfers available here (include link).

Air – Bundaberg is serviced daily by QantasLink services ex Brisbane.


Bus – Greyhound Australia coaches operate daily services to Bundaberg from north and south.

Taxi connections are available from all transport and accommodation options in the region, or contact our office for assistance with transfers.

TERMS & CONDITIONS DEFINITIONS: We/us/our – Refers to Taribelang Bunda Cultural Tours (TBCT), ABN 39 262 813 275. You – means the person or entity that made the booking and is named in the Booking Confirmation. Booking Confirmation – Refers to the notification from us to you containing the details of your booking. 1. BOOKING Confirmed Booking Your booking of a journey is confirmed when: (1) you have made the booking, complete with all information we require; (2) you have paid us the Deposit (or other amounts owing at the time of booking), according to the terms of this agreement; and (3) we have sent you a Booking Confirmation. Inclusions: All goods and services that are included in your journey are as listed in the brochure and the website as at the date of booking. Tour Code: YTTTOUR Tour Name: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow Tour Inclusions: • Local Traditional Owner guides • Comfortable vehicle • Small and personal • Indigenous inspired morning tea • Visit local indigenous cultural sites • Learn the history of the region • Learn local Indigenous language • Learn about indigenous foods and medicines Departures & Duration : Tuesday 9:30am Saturday 9:30am Duration: approx. 3 hours. Special Requirements Passengers must notify us of any special requirements (for example diet) at the time the booking is made. We will advise all third parties of these requirements and will endeavour to ensure they are met. However, we cannot guarantee that all special requirements will be met in all instances. Taribelang Bunda Cultural Tours will not be held responsible for the catering/food supply for any individual where a dietary condition is undeclared. 2. PAYMENT, AMENDMENTS & CANCELLATIONS The tour itinerary and departures are subject to change at the discretion of the Taribelang Bunda Cultural Tours (‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’) in the interests of visitors and Taribelang Bunda Cultural Tour guides health, safety and comfort. Payment Policy: Full payment is made at time of booking Cancellation Policy – Cancellation made with 24 hours’ notice from tour departure are 100% refundable. – Cancellations made within 24 hours of tour departure are non-refundable. – No show on day of tour is non- refundable. – If 48hours notice is provided you will be offered to transfer your tour to another date or receive a voucher to the value of your tour – On very rare occasions, tours may be cancelled (severe weather, road or park closures, insufficient numbers). Should this occur, you will be transferred to an alternative tour / date, or if this is not suitable, you will receive a full refund. – A refund will be provided to those who test positive to COVID and are unable to attend, providing a medical certificate is provided confirming your positive COVID result. – Operating days are subject to seasonal and guest demand and tours may not operate on all days indicated. Changes Policy We reserve the right to change tour itineraries, inclusions, and suppliers / venues should the need arise due to operational requirements or unforeseen circumstances. Dates: Request for changes of dates are accepted up until 48hrs prior to tour departure. Names: Bookings can be transferred by you to another person at no cost, however, Taribelang Bunda Cultural Tours must be advised of the name of replacement passenger. Child Policy: – Ticket price quoted for tours is a per person rate. – All children must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 5 years are not carried. Children 5- 8 years are carried only when advised at the time of booking. Confirmation & Payment Policy for Tour Groups – Group Policies Payment: 50% deposit is required at time of group booking Final numbers are required 7 days before tour departure Remaining balance paid when final numbers confirmed Cancellation: – Cancellation made with 7 days’ notice from tour departure are 100% refundable. – Cancellations made within 7 days the deposit paid is non-refundable departure are non-refundable. – No show on day of tour is non- refundable. Weather Policy: Taribelang Bunda Cultural Tours (TBCT) reserve the right to cancel or reschedule in extreme wet weather in the interest if visitors’ health, safety and comfort. If ticket holder unable to travel on new tour date, either refund or credit voucher issued. 3. CARE AND RESPONSIBILITY Taribelang Bunda Cultural Tours is a commercial tour operator who takes the care and responsibility of its passengers seriously. We carry public liability insurance and follow all applicable laws and regulations in our operations. However, we accept no responsibility for any loss or damage to any luggage, valuables or personal items carried on tours. Taribelang Bunda Cultural Tours does not accept any responsibility for the deterioration of the health of any passenger that results in any illness, injury or death. In booking a tour, you accept the policies as outlined here and accept that any activity always involves some risk and that you will not hold this company, its employees, or sub-contractors responsible for any injury or loss that you should suffer to yourself or your possessions. 4. GENERAL POLICIES Health: – Fitness – Most of our tour itineraries contain guided sightseeing walks to natural attractions. As such, guests are required to have a reasonable level of fitness in order to participate. The walks on our tours vary in length, so please read your chosen itinerary for further information or contact our team directly to discuss. If passengers feel they are unable to participate in the walk on the day, alternative arrangements will be made with adequate provision for passenger comfort and safety. – Mobility – Passengers are required to have a reasonable level of mobility to be able to board and alight the coach unaided. Due to space restrictions aboard our bus, we are unable to accommodate passengers who require the use of wheelchairs or walkers. Our vehicles are not equipped with wheelchair ramps or lifters. Passengers requiring physical or mental assistance must be accompanied by a companion who is willing and capable of providing such assistance. Luggage: No luggage can be bought on day tours. No smoking policy: There is no smoking, drinking or eating on buses. Travelling with us: Alcohol Consumption – For the safety of other guests, persons considered to be intoxicated by either drugs or alcohol will not be permitted and may be excluded from the tour or not boarded. No compensation or refunds will be paid. Trade Partners: All products are commissionable at appropriate rate, and as agreed upon by both Trade Partner and Taribelang Bunda Cultural Tours.
