Perfect for new and progressing young surfers, Bombora Surf School’s group surf lessons focus on building confidence, ocean awareness and strong foundational surfing skills in a safe, supportive and culturally inclusive environment.
These 1.5-hour sessions are designed to help young surfers develop correct technique, wave knowledge and water confidence while having fun in the ocean. Lessons follow a learner-focused skill-building framework grounded in Surfing Australia methodology and are delivered by experienced, Surfing Australia–accredited coaches.
Bombora Surf School is proudly First Nations owned and operated and holds a Gold Coast City permit to operate at Tallebudgera Surf Life Saving Club and Palm Beach, with Tugun available as an adaptive-friendly backup location. Bombora specialises in delivering high-quality coaching for beginner through to advanced surfers, including all-abilities and adaptive surfers, with industry-leading safety standards.
Your head coach, Zane Silvester, is a professional sponsored surfer with Volcom and Kamikaze, an APOLA lifeguard, a Surfing Australia registered coach, and a multi-year finalist at the Australian Indigenous Surfing Titles. Every session is led with deep ocean knowledge, strong safety awareness and a passion for empowering the next generation of surfers of all abilities.
Each lesson includes a safety briefing, land-based warm-up and technique introduction before heading into the water for hands-on coaching. Surfers are guided through paddling, positioning, wave selection and riding techniques appropriate to their level, with constant supervision and encouragement throughout the session.
