This is a self-guided ride, includes up to 2.5hrs of Adventure Time. We meet you near the start of the trail, and give you a comprehensive rider briefing before you set off.
### Start times can vary by up to 30 minutes either way, depending on the logistics of the day. As we offer a fully mobile service and meet at various locations, some flexibility may be required ;-) Thanks in advance!
### Does not included the GBMT or Anvill and Pulpit Rock rides as per the website. Please call if you would like to talk about these options.
### BMBA self guided tours and hire require minimum numbers for the day to go ahead. The booking system will send a pending order email confirmation upon your online booking. When minimum bookings are received, bookings/rides will be automatically confirmed. Regardless of whether ride goes ahead or not, you will receive an email from the owner (Sam) the night before your ride to confirm the status and info about the ride and logistics. Rides that do not go ahead will be instantly refunded or you can choose another date and the booking will be moved…whatever suits you best! The above is not totally inflexible and Sam will help, with pleasure, where ever possible.
ABOUT THE RIDE AND WHATS INCLUDED
Mountain bike, helmet, custom bike fitting, bike operation and trail/ride briefing, riding tips and techniques.
Extra’s Inclusion: Gloves, puncture repair kit, spare tube, combination lock. All are on a hire basis.
You can expect your ride experience to last from 2 to 3 hours.
BEST LOOKOUT IN THE BLUE MOUNTAINS. Nobody is ever ever disappointed! Great for Beginner and up, and a hit with couples and families.
With scenic valley views across the Grose Valley and crisp mountain air, this ride follows a rough fire trail along the ridge line to the spectacular Baltzers Lookout at Hanging Rock. Unlike other lookouts in the mountains, there is no safety fence here to separate you from one particularly large drop!
This is your typical “out and back” Blue Mountains ride – the easy navigation and the short distance make it an ideal ride for less experienced cyclists looking to clock up some time on the dirt and get closer to nature. That’s not to say more experienced cyclists won’t enjoy it…the flowing trails will bring a smile to any rider’s dial, and there are also plenty of water bars to let you get some air time. And besides, the views are more than enough to keep everybody happy anyway!
There are a few short climbs, but they are all easily walked if you need to.

Sam is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and has an infectious enthusiasm and adventurous spirit that made the experience even more enjoyable.
Highly recommend this to anyone who's up for a biking tour!
Hopefully we'll bump into you on the slopes somewhere in the world, Sam!
We had 25 of our senior leaders plus myself participate.
It was fantastic with the whole group raving about what a great experience it was. Being on E-Bikes was next level fun.
Sam is fabulous to deal with making the whole process easy and organised.
Would highly recommend even for people who have never mountain biked before.
Loads of fun! We'll be back.
What really made it stand out was Sam. From the very beginning, he took the time to properly train us before we set off, making sure we understood how everything worked and felt completely comfortable on the bikes. He explained things clearly, answered all our questions, and made sure everyone felt confident, even if they weren’t experienced riders. That personal attention made a huge difference and set the tone for the whole experience.
The ride itself was breathtaking. Exploring the Blue Mountains at our own pace, surrounded by amazing scenery and fresh air, was something I’ll never forget. The bikes were in great condition, and everything felt smooth and well thought out.
It was the perfect mix of adventure and ease—exciting but never overwhelming, with plenty of chances to stop, take in the views, and enjoy the moment.
I can’t recommend this experience enough. If you’re thinking about doing it, definitely go for it—Sam will make sure you have an amazing time.
Maximum comfort and safety..
the ride itself was easy to navigate but had enough downhills to make it interesting.
Views from hanging rock breathtaking.
Thoroughly recommend to anyone who isn’t very experienced off road cycling
The ride was a memory to cherish. Thanks, Sam !
The service was excellent from getting all the required information to having all the gear explained. The tour was a bit short for my taste and could probably have been done on gravel bikes, but that might just be because it's a beginner's tour. I would recommend to regular cyclists to go for something more adventurous.
The owner (Sam) is a great guy who was very cheerful and gave us great advice on other things to do around the blue mountain area but also around NSW.
- The E-bikes were really, good.
- Pick up and drop off was easy at the Motel.
- Good communication with Sam.
- He also provided advice and map pins for the routes he recommended.
- Amazing destinations and incredible views - away from the crowds.
- Also essential to watch the videos he provides links for - good riding tips and info re how the bikes work etc.
Since we ride e-bikes pretty often, we chose the Narrowneck. It wasn’t easy, but it was a lot of fun, and next time we definitely want to try the Grand Canyon route that Sam recommended.
Sam’s bike isn’t just a regular e-bike— it’s a tuned, mountain-specific one that’s super easy to handle but still built like a pro bike. So basically, anyone can ride it safely and feel like an expert.
Highly recommended !👍
The bikes, trails and scenery were all great.
Would definitely do this again.
Thank you so much for renting us the mountain bikes. We had such a wonderful day exploring the trails — it was truly an unforgettable experience, unlike anything we’ve ever done before. Riding through the beautiful Australian landscapes gave us a sense of freedom and adventure that we’ll never forget.
When I shared photos and videos with my friends back in Taiwan, they were amazed and said how much they envied us. Many of them even promised themselves that one day they must come to Australia and try mountain biking too.
We’re really grateful for your warm help and for giving us this opportunity. It turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip.
Best regards,
Jacob, Eric and Kobe who join the adventure on Aug 31
Picking up and returning the bikes was very easy and customer service throughout was top notch.
Temperature was around 15'C which was wonderful. Wore light pants and a puffer that came off after a couple inclines.
We started with Mount Hay then took the train two stops with the bikes to Blackheath and saw Hanging Rock. Absolutely breathtaking!!
Returning the bikes is easy and Sam has thought of everything to make the experience fantastic - GPS maps, guidance and advice, bike locks and train timetables. Carol at the hotel collection/return point was super lovely and helpful too.
The bikes are in great condition with multiple gears and it's pedal assisted e-bike. Gloves and helmets were also in great condition.
We stopped for lunch at the end of the plateau and the views along the whole trail were spectacular. We recommend definitely having some off road cycling experience before commencing, intermediate is an accurate description (we've ridden bikes our whole life, but not recently).
Come prepared, you are in a national park with no phone service. (First aid kit, water, food, sunscreen, sunnies etc).
Thank you for an epic day out! Can't wait to come back.
Everything was smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. Highly recommend this experience to anyone wanting to explore the Blue Mountains on two wheels!
The Narrow Neck trail was long and fun, on an absolutely perfect day! We already are convinced that when we come back, we want to do this exact same ride. The views were incredible and the e-bikes were great!!
Thank you Sam for your help and advice - we had 2 super rides
All aspects exceeded expectations - from the quality and maintenance of their bikes, to the information they provided, all was better than we hoped for!
The Blue Mountains is beautiful place to visit and the e-bike option, along with Sam's suggested itinerary, allows you to access some of the best sights and away from the more popular areas.
I highly recommend BMBA and Sam, the owner. Brilliant !!
The adventure itself was nothing short of amazing. The trails were well-chosen, offering a perfect mix of challenge and scenic beauty. Sam's enthusiasm and passion for biking were contagious, making the entire day incredibly enjoyable for all of us.
We can't recommend Blue Mountains Biking Adventures enough for families or anyone looking to explore the stunning Blue Mountains on two wheels. It was truly an awesome day out that we'll remember for years to come.
My family and I recently had an incredible experience with Blue Mountains Biking Adventures. Sam, the owner, is not only super knowledgeable but also incredibly professional. From start to finish, our adventure was fantastic!
The whole family had a great time exploring the beautiful Blue Mountains. Sam's expertise and passion for biking made the experience even more enjoyable. The trails were well-maintained, and the scenery was breathtaking.
Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or a beginner, I highly recommend checking out Blue Mountains Biking Adventures.
You won't be disappointed!

The guy sent us the video to watch but he didn’t tell us about the track on mountain it’s too rocky and rocks were very slippery too . We are really good bikers and it’s too dangerous to ride on those rocks specially on the hill and it’s the worst decision to book from them they supposed to tell us before tour starting. I fell from the bike 2 times just because of those small rocks and my knee got badly injured and scrapped . We ride back to the spot on same bike. When we came back to NY the guy charged us $120 for broken bike mind it it’s not damaged at all I drove back for 2 hours from mountain. My knee is still not recovering because of internal bruising please please think twice before booking thanks
