Recently competed the Gidjuum Gulganyi 4 day walk with Vision Walks and it was a 10/10 experience!

Hike was amazing but even better were the logistics - food was delicious, beds were super comfy and cosy, there was a shower every night... could not have been better. And the grazing platter that greets you every afternoon when you roll into camp! Best dolmades I've ever tasted!

Our lead guide, Eugene, was knowledgeable and a lot of fun. We even had a botanist with us, Dana, who taught us heaps about all the plant life along the way.

Could not fault anything about this tour or the company. I've done overnight hikes before but not having to carry your full kit, and having access to all that is provided makes this well worth the expense. And a big shout out to 'the elves', who do a great job doing all the hard work in the background so you can concentrate on just walking and enjoying yourself.

If you're not sure about being able to do the walk itself - neither was I. But the pace was good throughout and Eugene was always clear that we were about the journey, not just the destination, so we never felt rushed. Day 2 is the hardest but... you get through it! Then an easy day three is your reward 😆

Excellent Gidjuum Gulganyi hike shuttle service Wendy at Vision Walks Eco Tours was fantastic, offering us a flexible and convenient shuttle service for fifteen people on the Gidjuum Gulganyi hike. From allowing us to pay individually and adjusting our pickup times, to providing great 'before and after' photography, Vision Walks Eco Tours will go out of their way to provide excellent service. Highly recommend.

They arrived exactly on time to both drop and collect, they were warm and generous to us, including when we arrived back after 4 days of muddy walking. A safe and happy bus ride, both ways! Super comfy, and with massive windows to enjoy the landscape! (and what a joy to sit down without leeches :))

All the critters This was so fun. I loved seeing the suburban area and we saw so many koalas (the goal for us). And kangaroos and wallabies. Lovely drive and our guide Sky was so enthusiastic. Great experience .

Shuttle service to Gidjuum Gulganyi Wendy and her team were very professional and accommodating when we got stuck in traffic and ended up being hours late for our departure time. Communication was great altogether and the team was friendly and full on knowledge. Would absolutely use Vision Walks again in the future.

Excellent birdwatching adventure. For those of us with a sense of adventure and a desire to connect with nature, the Byron Bay Birdwatching Tour is an excellent option. We had a great time and learned so much from our guide, Skye, not only about the birds but the environment and history of the area as well. It was such fun sitting at the picnic table having our brunch near the rainforest walk, watching out for the gorgeous little songbirds of the area. Saw a yellow robin but he was too fast for any of us to get a picture, but my sister and I had never even seen one before! Outstanding birds of the day ranged from white-breasted sea eagle, jacana, black swans - and a special mention goes to the cheeky little swamp wallaby! Had an absolute blast and will book with Vision Walks again the next time we are staying at Byron Bay.

Koala eco tour We waited a whole year to come back to Byron Bay and do this koala tour, and it was absolutely worth it.
We saw 10 koalas, all peacefully sleeping up in the trees, which was such a special experience. The tour itself was fantastic, and Wendy from Vision Tours made it, she was knowledgeable, friendly and clearly passionate about the area.
It wasn’t just about the koalas either. We also saw macadamia farms, tea tree plantations and cattle egrets, all set against the most beautiful, lush green scenery.

A really well-rounded, relaxed and memorable tour. Highly recommend if you’re visiting Byron.

Best animal experience ever! This is a fantastic tour! Our guide, Tom, was super knowledgeable, informed and engaging. He introduced us to so many plants, animals and birds, and we absolutely did see lots of koalas and kangaroos! Lunch was delicious and the transportation was very comfortable. I VERY highly recommend this tour!

We did a private platypus and wildlife tour. We saw Koala, Pademelons, Wallabies and Kangaroo and many birds, but no Platypus. Vision tours offered to go again the next morning, just to see the platypus and we saw 3 the second morning. Excellent service!!

I had a positive experience with Wendy from Vision Walks. I drove down from QLD to NSW to do the GG walk and felt like I was in good hands while being transferred to and from the trail. Wendy has a wealth of knowledge in local flora and fauna and is respectful of Indigenous knowledges. Not to mention she was patient when I rocked up 15 minutes late to pick up (forgot about the interstate time difference!). Highly recommend these guys.

One of the must things to do while in the Byron area is contact Vision Walks to book one of their amazing excursions. I was so thankful and fortunate to have gone to Minyon Falls with our guide, Tom, who was so knowledgeable. I have waited 3 years to take this guided hike and man was it worth it. Brilliant Wendy is a great guide, very friendly and knowledgeable. We got to see a pademelon, koalas, kangaroos, wallaby's and flying foxes. All in all, a great day.

Definitely worth a day away from the beach! We spent the day with Wendy taking us to various sites to see wildlife - one of my goals coming from Canada was to see kangaroos and koalas in their natural habitats and this did not disappoint. Even though we had rain, it ended up being the impetus for these guys to come out and roam! Wendy was full of wit and wisdom making the day a great one!

Hiding in plain sight Wendy was the perfect leader, knowledgeable, confident and interested in her clients as well as being passionate about the indigenous flora and fauna which she pointed out.

Great Koala watching tour We did the excellent Koala tour and got to see 10 Koalas in a wonderful part of the Byron Bay hinterland. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable not only on Koalas but also on many other tourism topics in the region. It was a great 3 hours of touring, Koala watching and chatting.

A wonderful day out. Such a lovely day out to see the beautiful aussie animals in their natural habitats. Our guide, Tom, was so knowledgable and had an answer for anything we asked regarding the animals! You could truly tell he was doing the tour for the animals and environment. It made my experience by seeing the koala joeys. The lunch provided was very good and was had at a lovely spot. Tom was prepared and had binoculars for everyone to get the best experience. A bonus to this as well was the fact the company plant trees in order to give back to the wilderness. So by doing this tour you are technically donating to charity too. I highly recommend this experience if you are staying in Byron Bay.

Saw two on my life list--pademelons and a Tawny Frogmouth! Wonderful tour!

We were in Byron Bay and wanted to see some wildlife. We'd seen Kangaroos, Wombats and Koalas before, so we did the night vision walk.

The guide took us to a patch of remaining "virgin rain forest) and we saw pademelons (really cool) and walabies, a huge Capet Python hunting the Bush Rats (which are not really rats but marsupials. We saw lots of this Bush Rats as well (and they are pretty cute). Finally, we had a magnificent sighting of something on my bucketlst--a gorgeous Tawny Frogmouth. What an incredible bird.

Very good wildlife tour! Very good tour! We got to see koalas, kangaroos, wallabies and flying foxes in their natural habitat. We also saw lots of birds. The tour guide was very good and gave us lots of extra information, we really enjoyed it.

Amazing experience!! We saw kangaroos up close (even got to see a Joey!!) and our tour guide Tom was the best. Tom was so knowledgeable and made the tour a blast. Lunch was great too!

Tom is a brilliant host, as well as being a knowledgeable and passionate naturalist. This was such a great small-group wildlife tour, getting up close to awesome native species while respecting the space that these wild animals need.
Strongly recommend for those that are looking for special encounters with Australia's unique wildlife.

Absolutely EPIC experience walking through the Australian rainforest at night on the Night Vision Tour! This was such a one of a kind experience and an incredible way to experience the jungle and the nocturnal animals! Wendy was a fanatic and passionate guide and we were in AWE the whole time! Wearing night vision goggles and using thermal imaging - it was so cool!

We were picked up and dropped off from our requested locations and the price is very reasonable. The operators were friendly and relaxed and provided useful information about the walk.

The service could be improved by allowing extra time for the Minyon Grass section of the walk. This last section was incredible but we didn’t have enough time to fully enjoy the experience because of the pick up time.

Excellent service, recommended I was late for a pickup and Vision Tours organized another pickup on the same day.
I highly recommend the great customer service.

Plataplus walk a must do A beautiful park to wonder through searching the creek for plataplus we did see one swimming and a lot of ripples but they were to well camouflaged for us to sight them. Lots of water dragon's ducks and birds. Also a gorgeous display of water lily flowers. Wendy supplied a delicious picnic breakfast and lots of details we were not aware of about plataplus. Can't wait to do another walk with vision tours

Vision provided a very handy shuttle bus to drop off and pick up from the Gidjumm Gulganyi walk. Bookings were easy made and email exchange informative and responsive.
Mullumbimby was a great spot to leave the car as travel distance was short and its a fun town to have breakfast before and lunch after.
All these conveniences made for a smooth and fun walking adventure. Thank you!

All in all though, I definitely recommend using Vision Walks if you'd like to walk the Gijuum Gulganyi trail but you're not from the area / don't have a car.

It’s hard to describe just how great the Gidjuum Gulganyi 4 day guided walk was. I’ve just finished an incredible 3 night, 4 day walk. You need only carry a day pack each day. Water, lunch, and a towel if you want to have a swim in one of the water pools.

Amazing scenery and comfortable glamping style accommodation each night.

A massive thank you to our guide Tom, whose friendly nature and obvious love of his job made the trek all the more special.

Koalas!!! We did the guaranteed to see a Koala trip . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . and it did what it said on the tin, we saw Koalas about a dozen of them!
Worth every penny (cent) and a great way to spend a morning.

Had such an amazing time with Wendy on the koala tour. Saw 15 koalas including a baby! Could recommend this company more. Great knowledge of local wildlife and super friendly.

We went with Tom on the wildlife tour and saw a pademelon, 6 koalas and a bunch of eastern grey kangaroos and red neck wallabies. Also saw dozens of bird species, specially easy with Tom who knows a lot about birds and their calls!

It was a great day and Tom was a great guide, we definately recommend.

Excellent tour The experience was amazing, love the walk through rainforest, staff were all very professional and had a lot of knowledge regarding the crystals, certainly worth the time and price was very reasonable. Not having our own transport eco tours picked us up and returned us to our accommodation. Very enjoyable day out.

It was a wonderful tour in different places. The very experienced guide explained a lot and answered all our questions. The tour was not only a complete success because we saw the koalas and kangaroos etc., but also because everything else was just right. We were picked up from our accommodation and there was also a cosy picnic. Highly recommended.

This is a local business operated by a lady called Wendy. We highly recommend taking a tour with them. I did a tour with my 5 year old daughter (the Platypus walk). It was easy, accessible, and a perfect mother and daughter activity. Wonderful people, great local knowledge and customer service. I will definitely do more tours with them on the future if we are in Byron Bay again.

Our family had a great experience on our wildlife trip with Wendy. She’s very knowledgeable and also a lot of fun to be with. Wendy is awesome and so are her tours. We had a great time finding 15 koalas .. yes 15. Including Mom and Joey. So fun, awe-inspiring. Delicious coffee and cookies for snack break. Loooads of interesting info about koalas and honestly many other things like coffee and produce and Australia in general, as a scientist Wendy is a wealth of knowledge.

Brilliant adventure in Byron Bay’s Hinterland This was a brilliant way for a pair of Canadians to see exotic Australian wildlife in their natural habitat without bothering them. Wendy knows all the nooks and crannies, finding us excellent spots to see flying foxes, pademelons, koalas (lots of koalas!), kangaroos, wallabies, and more. And we got really great sightings! Wendy is very knowledgable and provided us with lots of information about the animals, their habitats, and the natural history of the region (and all Australia). She was personable, flexible, and very client oriented. She pulled out all the stops so we all had a wonderful experience.

The icing on the cake: she has invested in tree planting so that the carbon footprint of her business is a net positive to the world! And the trees help provide koalas with an enhanced habitat!

This adventure was 100% worth every penny! We couldn’t recommend Wendy and her business high enough.

Amazing and interesting The tour was amazing and our guide very polite and funny, with a wide knowledge in theme of wildlife and environmental issues.
We spotted koalas on eucaliptus, some kangaroos and wallabi, bats and birds. We had a very nice pic nic (also for vegan vegetarian and gluten free).

Great half day tour. It was a terrific half day trip to Crystal Castle. Picked up from my Byron Bay hotel. Plenty of time to explore the beautiful gardens and amazing crystals.

So many koalas! We did the koala tour with Wendy and it was absolutely amazing. We saw 13 koalas and it surpassed all my expectations. We saw them up close and got some great photos, Wendy was willing to share some of her photos with us too. This was absolutely one of the highlights of our trip to Australia. Amazing experience!! Highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to see some amazing native Australian wildlife in their natural habitats, absolutely no cages involved!! Wendy, our tour guide, was so knowledgeable and gave us lots of information! She also took some really high quality photos of the animals we saw on the day - check out their Instagram to see some examples! The lunchtime picnic was really tasty too and a lovely addition. Can't recommend Vision Walks Eco Tours highly enough. I use this service to get to the Crystal Castle each year. You are picked up form your accommodation and dropped back to your accommodation at the end of the day. I try and do a full day tour when possible. Always friendly and accommodating, Wendy is a great tour guide and host. Highly Recommended.

Always a wonderful experience I use this shuttle service to get to the Crystal Castle every year. Being picked up at your hotel is wonderful. Wendy is very accommodating and a wonderful host. The trip is always comfortable and Wendy can let you know of other things in the Byron area if you need to know something in particular. The Crystal Castle itself has changed a lot with different offerings over the last 5 years but always a restful experience. Can't recommend Vision Walks Eco Tours Enough to anyone wanting to do one of their many activities including the Crystal Castle run, Wendy will make you feel very welcome. 10/10

Great tour to see animals in their natural habitats! Tom was an amazing tour guide and took me and the other participants to all the places described in the tour. We were so lucky and got to see kangaroos, wallabys, pademelons, 9! Koala bears, loads of birds and to end the tour, we stopped and watched flying foxes. He told us everything about the animals and wildlife in the byron bay hinterlands and prepared a great picknick lunch for us as well. Would absolutely do it again. Thanks for the great experience!

Relaxing peaceful day We had such a good day! From the get go Wendy who picked us up was great, she was very informative and very friendly and we had a great laugh on the way to and from the crystal castle. The whole day was really fun and relaxing, we managed to do all of the walks and activities in the time we got as well as do a little bit of shopping at the end. I even managed to get the boyfriend to try the meditation classes although he has never been keen or tried one before and he enjoyed them too. Would recommend this trip! We got picked up right outside our hostel and dropped off where we wanted on the way back too. Another thank you to Wendy for the trip. We really enjoyed it!

Brilliant Wildlife Tour Amazing Experience! This tour exceeded expectations. Our guide, Wendy, was super friendly and knowledgeable about all things Australian Wildlife. We saw a Pademelon which was unexpected, around 10 Koalas, plenty of Kangaroos, a colony of flying fox and many different birds, all in natural environments. The picnic lunch was delicious and was easy to bond as a small group. If you are in Byron and want to explore some of the Northern Rivers region and see some wildlife in nature definitely do this tour!

5 stars! This is my second tour by VisionTours, and I just have to give another 5 stars ????.
Our guide, Wendy, took us to all the local stops where we were able to see all sorts of Australia's wildlife.
We started off by seeing a colony of flying foxes and also stumbled upon a carpet python!
Our next stop was a boardwalk in a rainforest to see pademelons. Although we couldn't see them by eye, Wendy let us use her thermal monocular and we managed to spot them, along with a few birds by eye.
We proceeded to go see koalas in the wild, and were lucky enough to see them while they were awake and hungry.
The picnic lunch was provided by our guide, and there was a lovely selection of all sorts of foods.
We finished off the tour with some kangaroo and wallaby spotting and managed to see quite a few.
Overall, I was incredibly chuffed with this tour and will definitely book again with the same guide.

My husband and I had a fantastic half-day excursion seeing koalas in the wild with Wendy and Vision Walks Eco Tours. Wendy was such a knowledgeable guide and we really appreciated not only all of the information she shared about koalas and the area but also her clear commitment to sustainable tourism, conservation, and regenerative practices in general. We must've seen nearly 12 koalas in the trees (including a mother and joey!) and it was such a special experience. Highly recommend going on a tour with Vision Walks if you visit the area!
