Dolphins, Dugong and a Turtle!!! Brilliant time out on the water with Blue Dolphin Marine Tours! Peter and Anni were awesome, very knowledgeable, informative and fun. The facilities were exceptional and the food and drink treats were delicious. We were lucky enough to spot Dungong, dolphins and a turtle but the best part was the dolphin calf we were able to see! Riding the net and swimming in clear waters just off K’gari topped our day. Biggest thanks to the team, we appreciate you spending your morning with us and making our day perfect.

Sailing by dolphins and sipping tea We had an incredible experience! Started the day with sailing into the open water, chilling on the nets and looking out for dolphins. We saw so many dolphins, while sipping on cold drinks, tea and eating different kinds of snacks. The crew was incredible, encouraging us to go on the boom net, which was so much fun, taking pictures of us and answering all our questions! Big recommendation!

A fantastic way to spend an afternoon! Absolutely loved the afternoon. My husband was a bit dubious to start off with but once into the sail he mentioned that he would love to do it every week. The crew were fantastic, nibbles were delicious and the bubbles were Devine. They were constantly bringing food and never let your glass go empty for long. They even took time out and took photos for those who wanted beautiful photos together with the sunset. It was well worth the money. My only complaint is (nothing about the sail) it just wasn’t long enough. I could have stayed longer. Thankyou to all the Blue Dolphin crew for an amazing afternoon!!!

Majestic, exceptional, sensational… not enough words to describe how special today was.
Even if there are not as many whales at this time of the year, we managed to see a fair few really up-close, who were really playful. I absolutely loved being in a catamaran vs a bigger boat. This gives you the best view from anywhere, it’s very stable (great option for people with motion sickness), and you are much more connected to the ocean and what’s happening rather than a bigger touristy boat (as I have done before).
And I can’t rave enough about the crew! So friendly, caring, funny, nice… they truly go above and beyond. And they provided snacks and beverages during the whole trip, which was really nice. To be honest, I can’t believe how little you pay for what you get - between the whole day on the catamaran, the crew’s extensive knowledge and service, the food, the drinks, pick up & drop off from your accommodation… I’d do it again in a heartbeat and couldn’t recommend the tour more. Thanks Peter & crew, we’ll be back!

MAGICAL DAY ON THE OCEAN WITH PASSIONATE CREW Spent two consecutive days out on the water with Peter and crew. Both experiences were magical and we saw different pods and behaviours; a highlight for me was the mum who brought her calf over to the vessel to check us out.
With a maximum of 24 passengers on board, there is plenty of room to move around and find a great spot to watch these beautiful creatures.
Peter’s passion and knowledge, along with Cassie’s friendliness, endless food and snacks, and a full day on the water makes this a great value trip.
I hope to come back one day, earlier in the season, to catch the "muggings", when pods of curious ‘adolescent’ whales apparently swim in close for a look!
Highly recommended (and there were lots of repeat visitors).

A day on the ocean with Peter! My sister and her partner from NZ and myself had an absolutely awesome day a few weeks ago with our whale watch. It's my second time with Peter on a tour and I highly recommend anyone to join him for a truly memorable and terrific day out on the ocean enjoying the incredible experience of seeing our majestic whales up close..the boat is in impeccable condition and Peter is the nicest captain, helpful, knowledgeable and his lovely offsider feeding and watering us !

An unforgettable experience Once again we had a fabulous day out in Hervey Bay. Thank you Pete and Cassie! This was probably our seventh or eighth time in Blue Dolphin, and we never get tired of the experience of being so close to the whales - something that's more difficult to achieve in the bigger, faster catamarans that don't have sails (and you therefore miss out on the joy of sailing back if the conditions are right, as they were this time). As usual, we were kept well fed and watered through the day, with regular cakes, tea/coffee, and an excellent buffet lunch with wine. If I have any advice, it's that I would probably go in September/October next time, when the calves are more in evidence. But if that's not possible, August still works well.

I took my 7yo and 9yo boys on this all day adventure and I admit there was a couple of times they were bored towards the end of the trip however I wanted an experience which wasn’t crowded and had plenty of time to spot some whales. We were not disappointed and the trip was awesome. The crew were super friendly and obliging at every point. Would highly recommend. If taking young kids like I did then use your judgement. Once the whales started performing the boys forgot about everything else. Awesome experience

Small, Friendly and Fantastic Very Highly recommend both K'gari and while watching tours by Blue Dolphin. The K'gari tour picked us up at the scheduled time at our accomodation. The tour guide/driver was friendly and knowledgeable. the 4wd bus was small and comfortable. The small group size was perfect for us and allowed some flexibility. Loved it! The whale watching was absolutely fantastic! Again Jodie picked us up at the scheduled time at our accomodation. The boat and hence group size is small, which was perfect for us. It also allowed for the boat to be closer to whales than other larger boats. Peter is friendly and very knowledgeable about the bay and the whales. Peter knew exactly how to find whales and we were lucky enough to have many close up encounters. We witnessed several different types of whale behaviours, all explained to us by Peter. It was truely awesome! On both tours food and drinks provided were great. Everyone should do these tours with Blue dolphin. None better!!

Absolutely fabulous trip to see whales We went out with Blue Dolphin Marine Tours for a long awaited whale watching experience. Pete and Cassie couldn’t have been more helpful. Pete was very knowledgeable and Cassie was the perfect host making sure we all had drinks and serving snacks. Lunch was delicious and plentiful.

We spotted so many whales. This has definitely been a bucket list experience and would absolutely love to go again next time we are in Hervey Bay. We were recommended to use Blue Dolphin by my daughter in law who went seven years ago. We were not disappointed.

The whales were everywhere. We had a fabulous day. It was a bit rough to begin with but slowly settled throughout the day. We saw lots of whales - mothers and calves - that were mainly swimming around and then towards the end of the day a whale was breaching and rolling and being very active. Peter is so knowledgeable and goes out of his way to make sure you have a good day as do the “crew”. Thanks girls for looking after us so well. It was such a memorable time.

Great day out and will definitely cruise with these guys again! This was our first whale watching cruise on a catamaran and it was fantastic! Limited number of passengers made viewing so easy and nobody missed out on the display that the whales put on. The weather was windy and the water a bit choppy, but as well as Peter, our skipper, providing an excellent education on the whales and the reason they visit Hervey Bay every year, we also learned that in rougher water the whales are active with breaching, tail and fluke slapping etc. So, no matter what the weather is they are active. The crew were great, friendly and looked after everyone really well. Highly recommend this cruise!

Recently did a week of whale watching trips out with Blue Dolphin in Hervey Bay. Most magical experiences ever! Passionate crew, with skipper Peter trying to get to the most active, curious whales. We had some incredible close encounters where the whales approached the boat on their own terms and showed interest in the boat and passengers. The crew are passionate, knowledgeable and hospitable (lunch and snacks provided throughout the trip). Amazing experience and well worth every cent. Memories of a lifetime!

Absolutely phenomenal day on the water. The crew were incredible, the food amazing, and we got so many breaches! Our boat was mugged by at least 7 or 8 very curious whales over the course of the day. One pod couldn't get enough of us. Pete was great at explaining the whale behaviour and positioning his boat to get the best view. A total dream experience, thanks crew!

We did the whale watching tour yesterday and had the best day ever! Started at 7:15am and we returned around 4pm. Saw our first whales within 1 hour and soooo many more throughout the day, coming up to the boat and interacting with us! Pete is very friendly and relaxed and super knowledgeable about the marine life in Hervey Bay. And the food served on board was so yummy! Felt like we were being offered food the whole time - definitely didn’t go hungry. The coolest part about the whole day was getting to swim with the whales for around 5-10minutes, absolutely insane watching them swim underneath you and pop up for a breath right beside you. Would 100% recommend this company and will hopefully be back soon!!!

A wonderful first time to see whales close up. Our trip was in July at the start of the season. Blue Dolphin Marine Tours offered a small group, personised day trip. Great hospitality on board.

Nothing to do but relax and enjoy! This cruise was a fantastic choice. Everyone on board agreed. The crew took care of us all so well that all that we had to focus on was enjoying the amazing views and the fully catered food and drinks. Corks were popping before we hit the open water, plenty of cheese and snacks.

Great day even if we didn’t manage to see any dolphins… We only booked this at short notice as the weather was going to be good. So glad we did as we had a fabulous morning. The owners Peter and Jodie were just the perfect hosts. Very friendly and knowledgeable. The food and drinks were lovely. There was a lot of interaction and our stop on Pelican Island was a highlight. We loved the trip so much we booked the sunset tour for that same afternoon. We weren’t disappointed. The food and drinks were free flowing. Had we known we’d not have had a bbq between the trips! Thanks for a great day guys.

Motoring around in search of dolphins. As hard as the crew tried (and they did really try!) our group did not see any bit of anything on our unfortunate trip- no dolphins, turtles or dugongs, so be aware there really is an unlucky 5% club! Still had a pretty nice morning on the boat motoring around (no sailing) but overall it was disappointing as I made a special stop in out of the way Hervey Bay just for this experience. Dolphins must have been busy elsewhere!!

Can’t imagine any better Whale Watching Trip I’m in the process of coordinating everyone to book a repeat trip for later this year and realise my previous review was still in my drafts!!! (Apologies)., ..

As newish residents to Hervey Bay this was our 1st whale watching trip of what we hope will be many more and was far greater than any expectations. During the many times I spoke to Jodi & Kathleen beforehand, not once did they make me feel like a bother and were very approachable and helpful. The day was nothing less than spectacular. We were In great hands with Peter and Cassi and saw so many whales. At one time we had at least 7 surrounding us, swimming up to, around and under the boat for a lengthy time. I wasn’t sure which way to look as it seemed they were everywhere! As everyone was having such a good time and no one had to be back on time, we were out for an hour longer than the tour.

Cassi ensured we were all fed very well. In addition to m/tea, Lunch and a/tea she came around whilst we were watching whales offering multiple snacks, tea & coffee. We were given a complimentary drink with a great lunch spread and also had the option to purchase drinks, chips or chocolates at a fair price (I can’t imagine anyone wanting extra food though!).

A couple of tips - bring a spare battery for your camera! We had a very calm day but if you are concerned about sea sickness and want to purchase KWELLS seasickness pills you should buy them somewhere else or before whale watching season as no chemists had any in stock when I enquired.

I can’t imagine any other tour group being better than blue Dolphin and highly recommend booking a trip with them (have already recommended to so many people) and intend to return ourselves. Thank you so very much Peter, Jodi, Cassi & Kathleen :)

We have had an amazing time on the sunset cruise. The people working on the boat was so sweet and always up for a little chat. Lots of different drinks og delicious finger food.
Would definitely recommend this trip, and make sure to ask the crew about recommendations for stuff in the local area. We got the best recommendation on a little bakery by them, and it was amazing (we are European and really needed some great quality bread).
You will for sure have a great time and meet amazing people on this cruise.

Went on an amazing dolphin watching tour, the boat was beautiful, not a massive group of people so there was plenty of room on the boat. We went and swam on the coast of K’gari island, the crew were so friendly and we had a fantastic trip. Peter and the crew are fantastic - relaxed professional, knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming. The catamaran is excellent with plenty of room in sun or shade. I did the half day Eco Dolphin tour and Peter's knowledge of the area was excellent. We saw dolphins and turtles and his approach is not to pressure the animals but to spot them and then let them come to us. Which the dolphins did! Had a beautiful swim at a sand island with delish morning tea. Its a 4 hour tour but feels like a full day tour as its relaxed and unhurried. Very highly recommend!

We were only 7 guest on the catamaran, we ate a lot : coffee/tea/biscuits/amazing buffet/again tee coffee and biscuits !

A trip you’ll want to do again By the end of the day I could understand why half the guests were repeat customers. The boat is very comfortable with lots of space to sit outside and spot every whale, or shelter out of the sun and watch the excitement through the windows. Seeing and hearing the whales less than a metre away while sitting on the back steps was an incredible experience. They hung around the boat and seemed to watch us with as much interest as we did them! Cassie and Annika were our hosts the day we booked and their hospitality was excellent. The snacks (fresh fruits, cake and bickie bites) kept coming all day and the lunch was also really tasty (abundance of salads, salmon, assorted chicken and ham). We probably saw 6 or 7 pods over the course of the day and spent hours watching them as they checked us out too. I’m going to be one of those repeat guests too! Highly recommend the experience.

Whales and Rainbows 🌈 🐋 I went on a private whale cruise with Blue Dolphin Cruises. Every part of our day was magic. Pete and Cassie looked after us so well, and our whale 🐋 encounter was amazing.

The whales came so close to the boat and performed every pose they could. The food was delicious.

Extraordinary Whale Encounters This is the second time I have been out whale watching with Blue Dolphin and I cannot recommend the whale watching day experience more highly. The staff work tirelessly and offer snacks and lunch throughout the day and you are looked after extremely professionally. As for the whale watching, Pete the Captain has the knowledge and contacts to find and interact with the most curious and co-operative whales around on the day. Just book it!

Best whale watching experiences by far We have been going on this tour for about 8 or 9 years. We would not go on any other vessel because we have never had a bad experience. I know you are dealing with wild animals and you are not supposed to always expect top notch experiences because they are wild animals but we have never missed out. We love how invested and excited Peter and his crew get with every encounter. This year I honestly think they were just as thrilled with our day out as the people on the boat. Their passion shows. And that passion makes them exceptional hosts. All I can say is do it. You won’t be disappointed.

I’ve already left a 5 star review and pictures a couple years ago and Google won’t let me leave another one, so I’ve had to log onto my other Google account to say this but blue dolphin is by far the best whale tours in Hervey Bay! Super calm and respectful with the whales, staff are all kind and helpful - we’ve been going whale watching with blue dolphin every year for about 4 years and this year we went 3 x in a week because we love it so much, every day was good and different! Day 3 was extra special on the water level platform with whales swimming right up and splashing us and playing around - love u guys you’re the best (also got to meet all of the staff - Pete, cassie, annika and Jason) nothing in the world makes me feel more at peace and calm than watching whales and you’re a big part of making it the best experience ever 🤍🐋🥰

We can highly recommend this whale watching day trip. Peter is very knowledgeable and skilfully manoeuvres the vessel, so you get the best experience. We were looked after so well, plenty of food and drink, provided by the delightful Cassie. A day to remember forever.
We suggest you carry a strap for your phone. So many photos to take and you need to hold on to the bar with one hand as it gets choppy. You don't want to lose your phone!

Month ago we decided to book a tour with @Blue Dolphin Marine Tours - what a day it was. I have travelled a lot and went on many tours - this 9h experience with this Company would have been the most organized and efficiently run tour business. From the time Jodie picked us up from the Motel, the greeting from the "Captain" Paul and Annika (that looked after everything from serving refreshments, coffee, cakes, Lunch, nicely presented and delicious, drinks, afternoon tea - besides that - cleaning, mopping the stairs and gully after a heavy shower (safety in mind) on the look out for the Whales - on the go all day! Amazing thank you Annika. Paul at the beginning of the "Adventure for us" explained every detail about all the Whale species - told us all the safety procedures and besides all his duties as a Captain - made sure he spotted every emerging tail or fin for the group to snap lots of images. I took hundreds! A big thank you for this amazing day and the wonderful memories we going to have. Next year the family is coming for 6 weeks from Canada - so we will be back!

Absolutely outstanding, in every way. Pete was a fantastic skipper, knowledgeable and relaxed and happy to answer questions. He kept a constant eye on the water, judging where to take the boat and letting us know where to look. Annika was a great host and kept us well fed and looked after (really great food!).
We really appreciated the relaxed, down-to-earth style. It felt like we were out sailing with friends. The boat is perfect, and the small numbers on board meant it never felt crowded. I’m so glad we were able to support a small family business, plus we got the best experience.
And OMG SO MANY WHALES! We were so lucky! They hung around right beside the boat for hours, rolling upside down and peeking their heads out of the water to spy on us and spraying us from their blowholes. It was phenomenal. Special thanks to the crew for your generosity giving us extra time to enjoy the whales even though it meant a longer day for you.
We even got bonus bottlenose dolphins on the way out, and humpback dolphins on the trip back to the marina.

Perfect experience, really recommend! An incredible day with lovely crew who made the trip extra special! We saw lots of dolphins and got up very close which was amazing! We did some swimming and water activities and my partner and I even swam to Fraser Island and walked along the beach which was really special. Both Anika and (I’m so sorry I have forgotten her name) were super friendly, very informative and made sure we were stocked up on snacks, drinks and suncream! Really unforgettable day and so worth the money, would recommend to everyone!

Great catamaran tour off the coast of K’gari The tour was very nice! We got lucky with the weather and got to see two species of dolphins!
We could swim off the coast and got nice snacks and refreshments.

Great Sunset Cruise We had a wonderful sunset cruise once again with Blue Dolphin. Drinks and food were plentiful and we met interesting people from near and far. Crew were friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere and views.

Dolphin sightings Trip was pretty amazing Peter and his staff were fantastic the day we did it was hot and humid, but calm seas which enabled us to be able to see lots of dolphins, Peter kept the craft in view of them as much as possible,

Great cruise We had a great sunset sail with crew Anika and Peter. Lots of snacks and bubbles! Small group of 9 people. Peter gave us lots of info on Frasier Island. Very relaxing. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a sunset cruise in Hervy Bay.

Spotting Dolphins in beautiful Hervey Bay. Our 1/2 day tour ticked all of the boxes. Fortunately the weather and boating conditions were very good .. clear skies and calm water. After a brief boat-safety talk, Peter and Cassie worked hard to spot any dolphin activity and then carefully motored towards the dolphins to get a closer view. At one stage there were 9 dolphins in different spots around the boat.

We were served a delicious and generous morning tea of savoury breads, cakes, muffins, biscuits and a variety of fresh fruit also tea, coffee or soft drinks.

On the way back to the marina we stopped for a swim. Peter anchored near a white sandbar so we were able to swim in clear, blue water. The colour of the water is beautiful.

This was our second trip with Blue Dolphin Tours and I highly recommend them for offering a range of tours and their attention to detail. Peter and crew work hard to make sure each passengers' expectations are met.

This was a really beautiful Tour. Amazing Scenery, Dolphins, a refreshing swim on the Beach of Fraser Island. But what really made this tour special was the absolute best crew! The extra care they took to make sure everybody has the best experience possible was unequaled!
We also liked the food a lot. Some chilli and garlic bread on the cruise over, then a nice cup of coffee and cookies after our swim. And finally some fresh fruit for us to enjoy on the way back.

We did see 6 or 7 dolphins, jumping rays and some curlews as well.
I recommend this tour for all age groups and even families! 10/10

Our last day in Hervey Bay so we decided to take the Sunset Cruise.
So relaxing and comfortable cruising out on the front of the Blue Dolphin.
Plenty of Finger Food which was top quality, served with a smile and washed down with a few quiet drinks.

Once in a Lifetime 5 stars are actually not enough. A once in a lifetime experience as it should be. Due to the captain's immense experience, we had the pleasure of having the cow and calf swim right past our boat. Always first keep enough distance from the whales, which then came to us on their own. And since we were at sea all day on this trip, we were alone for lunch. To top it all off, there was also the jumping of the calf, although the captain always knew exactly when it would happen due to his experience. An incredible experience. Plus the excellent service on board with lots of food and drink. I would book it again immediately.

Peter is so knowledgeable and we saw so many pods it was incredible.
He expertly turns the boat so everyone got a great view and the boat only takes 20 guests so plenty of space to relax and enjoy the day.
The food! Another wow!
The lunch was 1st class with meats,salmon and salads galore.

Whale Watching at its best The entire trip was wonderful, Peter and crew were so thoughtful, food was really good, but the whales were fantastic, we were on a pod for 2 hours and they just performed. Altogether one of the best days ever

Amazing day with Pete and Anika Amazing day organised by Pete and Anika. Guides were very knowledgable and professional. Food and snacks were delicious and plentiful. Plenty of sightings of humpbacks, dolphins, turtles and dugongs. Boat was very tidy and spacious, and toilet was spotless. We were treated to a sail home which topped the amazing day.
