Amazing whale encounters and a wonderful day out! The most incredible whale watching experience today on Blue Dolphin. Our first whales were magic but the last 3 were gold. We had what they call a "mugging" where the whales devoted all their attention to giving us amazing photos whilst they really checked us out and showed off. We were late back to the harbour and the skipper Pete had to call another boat to come over and get their attention so we could safely start engine's and head in.

Not every whale trip is this magical. We had wonderfully engaged whales, dolphins drop in and a rainbow to cap it off. Definitely recommend Blue Dolphin for a smaller boat/less people/more intimate experience with the whales. Skipper Pete and Silky were wonderful hosts, food was great and it was a fabulous day out.

The Gold Standard Have done a few HB whale tours and Blue Dolphin is the gold standard. They offer a full day out in a small group and Pete and Cassie have an abundance of knowledge, experience and expertise. You are fed and watered at regular intervals which usually helps keep sea sickness at bay.

Saw so many Whales up close and even got a couple of Whale kisses lol Such a wonderful experience. The crew were a happy and helpful bunch and went out of their way to make everything perfect.
The morning tea, buffet lunch and afternoon tea hit the spot, just right for a day out on the ocean.
The boat was clean and well kept.
Will do this again next year for sure.

From start to finish, an incredible whale watching experience. This tour was so incredible, when I returned to my accommodation, I booked another trip for later in the week. The excellent communication during booking, the pick up and drop off, the kind hospitality from the captain and crew and the wonderful food and drink was all a bonus to the amazing whale watching. Using their extensive knowledge of the bay and the whales, the captain and crew found us great whale watching opportunities, spent extra time to allow us to really enjoy each encounter and did so in a manner that was respectful of the whales. The small boat atmosphere was comfortable and friendly. 5 stars all around.

Magically brilliant!!! This is our second time with Peter and his crew and we didn’t think it could get any better than last time but somehow it did!
We were treated to the most incredible whale encounters, one after another Peter expertly guided us to pod after pod for a day that will last in our memories for a very long time.
The food was plentiful and delicious, the boat was so tidy, safe and roomy, access and views from every angle and had smaller numbers meaning we could all get such good views and up close to the beautiful whales!

AWESOME Tour! We had a great day out on the water with Blue Dolphin Tours. Food was amazing, crew were so helpful and sharing lots of information about the animals we saw - breaching whales, dolphins, turtles! Boat was spacious, lots of room to move around even blankets and cushions to sit on to make it even more comfortable. It was a very special day and we would definitely book with them again.

Dolphin 4hour cruise Great trip, very comfortable and relaxing. Went on the dolphin cruise for 4hours . Had lovely snacks provided. Friendly hosts. Found some dolphins, enjoyed spotting them with the tour operator, nice and inclusive. Would highly recommend.reasonably priced. Would be good value to do the K’gari and dolphin cruise.

Topped off our stay We booked a private charter and from the moment we were welcomed onto the boat and throughout our stay we were looked after and got quality time relaxing.

Amazing great catamaran and crew The moment you stepped on board the catamaran you received 5 star service. Great selection of drinks available both alcoholic and non alcoholic as well as these, Cabana and other finger food. The catamaran was modern clean and provided indoor and outdoor seating. Great commentary provided and we were lucky to have good weather (little windy) and saw a lovely sunset. It was such an amazing cruise and highly recommend. Pricing was very fair too.

Awesome Absolutely awesome, our 4th time on the Champagne Sunset Cruise. The skipper Peter and crew were fabulous as always. Our glasses were never empty, great nibbles and gorgeous sunset. Even though it was a bit windy our skipper found smooth waters to enjoy a relaxing, enjoyable afternoon aboard the pristine Blue Dolphin Catamaran. It was a fabulous way to spend our wedding anniversary. Great value for money, highly recommend.

Second time doing this cruise, will be doing it again! This is such a great local experience. Wonderful boat and crew, super clean and helpful/friendly. Its a nice duration and gets you back in time for a more full feast if you are not already full on finger food. Its not over crowded, plenty of seating and viewing options either up front or under protection at the rear. Best for adults.

Great day with the dolphins! I decided somewhat last minute to go on the Dolphin Eco Adventure. We had a small but mighty group of 6 along with the Captain and Mate and all in all it was a great adventure.
We saw a number of dolphins as well as a dingo and stingray. And although the dolphins were feeding we were still able to see them jump and entertain us.
The Mate was fun with a great sense of humour. The Captain not so much. He was very serious and appeared to be without a sense of humour. As well, repeating yourself again and again is for children, not adults.

Sunset sail and sips. Such a fabulous boat and great value experience in the gorgeous waters of Hervey Bay. Plenty of space inside and out with the best crew you could ask for. Local knowledge, relaxed and fun with top food and drink served. If you want to avoid the crowd and really experience the serenity of sunset with family, partner or group of friends, this is the trip for you. Enjoy!

Sunset Cruise in Hervey Bay I find the Blue Dolphin Sunset Cruise the best on offer in Hervey Bay. The boat is comfortable and smooth on the water. The nibbles and drinks are offered continually on the cruise and are of good quality. The number of guests are smaller than some of the other boats on offer, which creates a more intimate atmosphere. The staff are happy and knowledgeable. I would recommend The Blue Dolphin for your next adventure.

Sunset Sail We had a lovely night, service was great,very attentive to our needs.
Would have liked to be able to sit on the seats out the front but there wasn't enough room unfortunately. Otherwise a really lovely evening.

Special memories I have been on the Blue Dolphin Sunset Cruise on 2 occasions this month with a friend & then family. On both occasions it was fantastic. Very professional, knowledgeable & friendly staff. Very generous food & wine service. My friend felt very safe as not a real boatie & my sister celebrated her 75th birthday & was given lots of attention from staff & visitors which made for a special day.

Amazing in many ways Wow! We have been on the road 23 months and this would have to be the best tour business we have encountered. From booking, to talking on the phone, greetings, the experience. We couldn't fault a thing. The best spent money. Drinks and so many nibbles whilst cruising and watching the sunset. Never felt crowded and everyone treated as if they were the only ones on the catamaran. I would like to make special mention in how you handled my food allergy! Peter, Jodie and Cassie all so professional. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We did the sunset cruise - sadly too cloudy but still a beautiful trip around the water! Drinks are provided and light snacks (cheese, cabanossi, carrots, salami etc) Cassie did a great job serving the food and drinks and Peter jumped in and helped also when he could! It’s a lovely smaller group experience! (Might have been around 20 of us on board) Enjoyed hearing from Peter about the Bay! Highly recommend!

We had an amazing time on the sunset cruise with Blue Dolphin. The experience from start to finish was excellent — with beautiful views, unlimited drinks flowing, and plenty of tasty finger food.

The service was made very special with Peter, Cassie and Jodi. They were outstanding, friendly, attentive, and made everyone feel relaxed and welcome. They went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a great time.

Had a great trip on the Champagne Sunset tour on Boxing Day. Peter kept us safe, comfortable and entertained throughout the trip. Cassie definitely kept us hydrated and fed. Could not have asked for a better evening out!

Dolphins, Dugong and a Turtle!!! Brilliant time out on the water with Blue Dolphin Marine Tours! Peter and Anni were awesome, very knowledgeable, informative and fun. The facilities were exceptional and the food and drink treats were delicious. We were lucky enough to spot Dungong, dolphins and a turtle but the best part was the dolphin calf we were able to see! Riding the net and swimming in clear waters just off K’gari topped our day. Biggest thanks to the team, we appreciate you spending your morning with us and making our day perfect.

Sailing by dolphins and sipping tea We had an incredible experience! Started the day with sailing into the open water, chilling on the nets and looking out for dolphins. We saw so many dolphins, while sipping on cold drinks, tea and eating different kinds of snacks. The crew was incredible, encouraging us to go on the boom net, which was so much fun, taking pictures of us and answering all our questions! Big recommendation!

A fantastic way to spend an afternoon! Absolutely loved the afternoon. My husband was a bit dubious to start off with but once into the sail he mentioned that he would love to do it every week. The crew were fantastic, nibbles were delicious and the bubbles were Devine. They were constantly bringing food and never let your glass go empty for long. They even took time out and took photos for those who wanted beautiful photos together with the sunset. It was well worth the money. My only complaint is (nothing about the sail) it just wasn’t long enough. I could have stayed longer. Thankyou to all the Blue Dolphin crew for an amazing afternoon!!!

Majestic, exceptional, sensational… not enough words to describe how special today was.
Even if there are not as many whales at this time of the year, we managed to see a fair few really up-close, who were really playful. I absolutely loved being in a catamaran vs a bigger boat. This gives you the best view from anywhere, it’s very stable (great option for people with motion sickness), and you are much more connected to the ocean and what’s happening rather than a bigger touristy boat (as I have done before).
And I can’t rave enough about the crew! So friendly, caring, funny, nice… they truly go above and beyond. And they provided snacks and beverages during the whole trip, which was really nice. To be honest, I can’t believe how little you pay for what you get - between the whole day on the catamaran, the crew’s extensive knowledge and service, the food, the drinks, pick up & drop off from your accommodation… I’d do it again in a heartbeat and couldn’t recommend the tour more. Thanks Peter & crew, we’ll be back!

MAGICAL DAY ON THE OCEAN WITH PASSIONATE CREW Spent two consecutive days out on the water with Peter and crew. Both experiences were magical and we saw different pods and behaviours; a highlight for me was the mum who brought her calf over to the vessel to check us out.
With a maximum of 24 passengers on board, there is plenty of room to move around and find a great spot to watch these beautiful creatures.
Peter’s passion and knowledge, along with Cassie’s friendliness, endless food and snacks, and a full day on the water makes this a great value trip.
I hope to come back one day, earlier in the season, to catch the "muggings", when pods of curious ‘adolescent’ whales apparently swim in close for a look!
Highly recommended (and there were lots of repeat visitors).

A day on the ocean with Peter! My sister and her partner from NZ and myself had an absolutely awesome day a few weeks ago with our whale watch. It's my second time with Peter on a tour and I highly recommend anyone to join him for a truly memorable and terrific day out on the ocean enjoying the incredible experience of seeing our majestic whales up close..the boat is in impeccable condition and Peter is the nicest captain, helpful, knowledgeable and his lovely offsider feeding and watering us !

An unforgettable experience Once again we had a fabulous day out in Hervey Bay. Thank you Pete and Cassie! This was probably our seventh or eighth time in Blue Dolphin, and we never get tired of the experience of being so close to the whales - something that's more difficult to achieve in the bigger, faster catamarans that don't have sails (and you therefore miss out on the joy of sailing back if the conditions are right, as they were this time). As usual, we were kept well fed and watered through the day, with regular cakes, tea/coffee, and an excellent buffet lunch with wine. If I have any advice, it's that I would probably go in September/October next time, when the calves are more in evidence. But if that's not possible, August still works well.

I took my 7yo and 9yo boys on this all day adventure and I admit there was a couple of times they were bored towards the end of the trip however I wanted an experience which wasn’t crowded and had plenty of time to spot some whales. We were not disappointed and the trip was awesome. The crew were super friendly and obliging at every point. Would highly recommend. If taking young kids like I did then use your judgement. Once the whales started performing the boys forgot about everything else. Awesome experience

Small, Friendly and Fantastic Very Highly recommend both K'gari and while watching tours by Blue Dolphin. The K'gari tour picked us up at the scheduled time at our accomodation. The tour guide/driver was friendly and knowledgeable. the 4wd bus was small and comfortable. The small group size was perfect for us and allowed some flexibility. Loved it! The whale watching was absolutely fantastic! Again Jodie picked us up at the scheduled time at our accomodation. The boat and hence group size is small, which was perfect for us. It also allowed for the boat to be closer to whales than other larger boats. Peter is friendly and very knowledgeable about the bay and the whales. Peter knew exactly how to find whales and we were lucky enough to have many close up encounters. We witnessed several different types of whale behaviours, all explained to us by Peter. It was truely awesome! On both tours food and drinks provided were great. Everyone should do these tours with Blue dolphin. None better!!

Absolutely fabulous trip to see whales We went out with Blue Dolphin Marine Tours for a long awaited whale watching experience. Pete and Cassie couldn’t have been more helpful. Pete was very knowledgeable and Cassie was the perfect host making sure we all had drinks and serving snacks. Lunch was delicious and plentiful.

We spotted so many whales. This has definitely been a bucket list experience and would absolutely love to go again next time we are in Hervey Bay. We were recommended to use Blue Dolphin by my daughter in law who went seven years ago. We were not disappointed.

The whales were everywhere. We had a fabulous day. It was a bit rough to begin with but slowly settled throughout the day. We saw lots of whales - mothers and calves - that were mainly swimming around and then towards the end of the day a whale was breaching and rolling and being very active. Peter is so knowledgeable and goes out of his way to make sure you have a good day as do the “crew”. Thanks girls for looking after us so well. It was such a memorable time.

Great day out and will definitely cruise with these guys again! This was our first whale watching cruise on a catamaran and it was fantastic! Limited number of passengers made viewing so easy and nobody missed out on the display that the whales put on. The weather was windy and the water a bit choppy, but as well as Peter, our skipper, providing an excellent education on the whales and the reason they visit Hervey Bay every year, we also learned that in rougher water the whales are active with breaching, tail and fluke slapping etc. So, no matter what the weather is they are active. The crew were great, friendly and looked after everyone really well. Highly recommend this cruise!
