Our local guide was Rick and he was very knowledgeable and professional.
For morning tea we stopped at a very pretty estuary/ beach area and had Oysters and Cheese tasting with cup of tea or coffee. The Oysters were the largest I had seen so far in Tasmania, and were absolutely delicious.
Stopped at a Hotel for lunch which was adequate. My partner thought it would have been nice to have some mashed potato with the slow cooked lamb.
Followed by a journey to do Cheese, Chocolate and Honey tasting.
Also stopped at a small local market which was very quaint.
Altgether an 8 + hour tour of Bruny Island, and a wonderful experience with this company. Recommended.
My wife and I went on this tour and were pleasantly surprised! It was a long day, but every moment was worth it — from the delicious food (the oysters were absolutely amazing!) and fascinating historical insights shared by our guide, Dave, to the stunning scenery and his great sense of humor. The views from above were breathtaking. We’d highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Hobart!
Our driver Dave was a legend - knowledgeable and quick witted, and a great driver - he really made the tour.
Quick ferry ride to the island and then we stopped at various of the artisan shops and had samplings, had an amazing morning tea of local bread, cheese and the plumpest, freshest oysters! Wow! All at a delightful little beach which had been visited by Captain Cook.
We got a chance to climb the Truganini Lookout and marvel at the views of The Neck and then headed to Cape Bruny Lighthouse for a guided tour and a chance to brave the wind and walk around the balcony!
Included lunch was at the Bruny Hotel and was an excellent meal - we had placed individual orders earlier.
More stops on the way back to the ferry and then back to our accommodation.
This was one of the best tours we have ever done and can thoroughly recommend Bruny Island Safari’s and Dave in particular.
The view from the light house was really beautiful and not that walking then I expected.
Overall I enjoyed the tour and satisfied with everything.
But the price was bit too expensive.
The tour was meticulously planned and provided an enjoyable experience. The assortment of cheeses, bread, and Pacific oysters complemented the serene yet orderly ambiance.
We highly recommend Bruny Island Safaris and we extend our appreciation for their hospitality.
Lunch at the pub was great also, I ordered the chicken parmi which was lovely.
The portion size was a little bit small, it appeared to be cut in half.
A little bit disappointing as when I walked in I noticed someone else also having the chicken parmi and it was HUGE!!
That was the only thing, however I am a guts LOL!!
Unfortunately l think the price is too much compared to other lighthouse tours we have been on and we had a discount through bookme.
We were also able to sample some local produce - Cheeses , Oysters and Chocolate. This day tour is a must do it really captures what Bruny island has to offer.
Our guide was really friendly and knowledgeable but most of the group thought he was a rally car driver. He drove insanely fast on dirt roads which was a little scary. Just confirmed to all of us too rushed.
The lighthouse tour was fantastic ! If you’re scared of heights be warned but I’d still recommend it (I’m no good with heights but i don’t regret doing it!!)
Too rushed / typical bus tour : when we got on the bus we were warned today is going to be pushed to see it all ….. our first stop was at the ferry to Bruny island. Now despite being told it’s going to be rushed he purposely stopped the bus for us to grab coffee despite a ferry ready to board…..why!?!? … clearly kick backs are in place from the coffee shop. A waste of 30min!!!!
The it was off to get shucked …. Well that’s what we thought but instead it was a drive by with the driver quickly jumping out to get a few oysters to go / eat later. This was really disappointing as we had hoped to stop and grab some cooked oysters - NOPE!
Next honey stop for a v quick tasting. I’m not a big honey guy but my wife loved it !
Then off to Truganini lookout . Well worth a stop. The views are amazing!!!
Next stop, was at two tree point for cheese, bread and sample of oysters . The oysters were great as was the views!!!!!! Such a pretty spot to stop at.
Next was a rally car trip to the lighthouse !!!! Damn.
The lighthouse tour is a must . It was soo good . Incredible history and views.
Off to lunch and again the rally car driver was at his best …… hotel Bruny had some awesome local beers on tap!!! Food was ok. Can’t complain but nothing to write home about.
After lunch was more driving and a visit to chocolate shop - very touristy. Wouldn’t bother if going by myself.
Last stop was cheese and beer shop. Very friendly service and good beer. Worth a stop.
Back to ferry and home .
Was it worth $520 for two …… hmmmmmm …. Yes and no. Just depends on you. If you want a guide, wanna have a few beers and not worry about driving then yes. If you are happy to drive (we didn’t have a car that day) then do it yourself and you can pick and choose where you wanna go.
Tour guide was nice, very informative with good humor, easy to understand for non-native english speakers.
Wonderful views of the island. Enjoyed the lighthouse tour.
We enjoyed the foods . Oysters. Honey. Chocolate and yummy luncheon. We certainly have a happy
day out and highly recommended to others to join this tour .
We get to see a white wallaby - thanks Rick!
Viva Lunwanna Allonah!

Shaun was a lovely guide and we were lucky to only have 4 people including us on our tour as this allowed us more room to move and also time to ask questions.
If you visit Bruny Island the Lighthouse tour is well worth the visit. Be aware though that it’s best to travel before dusk and sun set as there is a lot of wildlife around.
The morning tea at the beach with oysters and cheese was delicious.
The tour of the lighthouse was interesting with incredible views.
Our seafood lunch at the Bruny hotel was scrumptious.
All in all a wonderful experience of a beautiful location.
There is a reason why they have preserved this landmark; the history, location, workmanship and the important role it played.
This is the only way to see inside and top if you have a head for heights. Tour spots are limited though so make sure you book ahead and have a printout or copy with you as there is limited internet access.
Thanks Steve, great job
Thank you for an outstanding day and I highly recommend this trip to anyone reading.
Viewing platform at the adventure bay lookout was just amazing & worth the trek.
The whole trip experience is well worth doing and we would fully recommend this tour as a must do while in Hobart .
Thank you for a great trip
First stops were at Get Shucked Oysters & The Bruny Island Cheese & Brewery for morning tea supplies. Next stop was the lookout at the Neck. Views are always spectacular from the top of the lookout. The 200 steps are a challenge. Onto morning tea of oysters, local bread & cheese at Two Tree Point at Adventure Bay, a location that I had never stopped at. Absolutely beautiful spot, the water looked tempting, but not in September.
Next onto Bruny Island lighthouse. Again a site I have visited many times, but the bonus for me was climbing the lighthouse. Spectacular views & interesting history.
Back to the Alonnah Hotel (the only hotel on the island) for lunch. All the usual pub favourites with a couple of local specialties. You would be very fussy not to find something on the menu.
2 final stops on the return journey, the first the Bruny Island Chocolate Factory & then the final stop at Bruny Island Cheese & Brewery. (recommend the whey stout).
Would recommend this trip for anyone wanting a more relaxed tour of Bruny.
