We had a great day touring in the 17 seat bus with Kirk as our driver and guide. There was never a dull moment as we were driven and bounced along the tracks, listening to the many stories and nuggets of information that he shared with us. His sense of humour, amidst the many facts, were both informative and educational. He is the best tour guide we have ever had!! We learned a LOT and had many laughs along the way.

We had a great day on this tour. Dave was very knowledgeable and friendly as well as being an excellent driver for the challenging conditions. We appreciated that the company is a small family company and that the tour group was small - 16 guests. We were able to see all of the advertised activities and were provided with a simple morning tea and lunch.

Our day trip to K'gari with Fraser Experience Tours on 30th August with the indomitable Kirk was indeed a unique experience. It was for my 64th birthday and ticked all the birthday-girl boxes.

I say Kirk was 'indomitable' because everything seemed to conspire to create stress for him and he still came through. It was one of those tours where they pick you up outside your accommodation (that's why we chose it).17 people max. What could go wrong?

He was driving a colleague's bus and on a tight timeframe so we could catch the ferry and at least three groups or individuals were not at the appointed place at the appointed time. [Not us--we were excited and out the front of the H.B. Caravan Park well before time]. One guy even got on the wrong tour bus. Another couple wasn't on his manifesto, so we had to go back for them. We slid into the last slot on the Fraser Dawn on time ... or maybe they waited for us. 40-minute crossing over brilliant shining water. Some lucky sods glimpsed whales, but I was in the toilet taking photos out the window at the time.

Then we had to wait for the guy who'd got himself onto a women's tour by mistake at the other end, so Kirk took the rest of us up to Kingfisher Bay. I got to buy a dingo stuffy toy for my collection which was okay by me, but we were 45 minutes behind schedule. Loved that we had a chance to visit the Meyer Gallery too.

So, from the get-go, Kirk was racing the tide on the beach--we felt like we were on an exciting mission--but it also still felt as if we had bucketloads of time to stop and watch a couple of dingos strutting their stuff. My Sexy Hot Nerd travelling companion had his special big-boy camera and got some great shots out the bus window. The rest of us got some okay phone snaps. I think this was the highlight of the day for both of us. I'd seen dingos on two previous tours, but these two were actually doing 'stuff'. They were two litter sisters from last year---tagged in their right ears so identifiable as females. Red 24 and Yellow 24. And Kirk knew all this. 😊😊

This is my fifth trip to Fraser Island as it was unofficially known (Great Sandy Island as it was originally called by the white dude who 'discovered' it), or K'gari as it has been called for several years. I'll never get tired of the place. On a day trip, you go to the same attractions---Eli Creek, the wreck of The Mahino, the coloured sands at The Pinnacles, Central Station + Wangoolba Creek/Pile Valley and either Lake McKenzie or Lake Wabby.

Kirk fitted all that in and gave a running commentary that covered so much disparate information that there was something for everyone. Certainly an expert on history, ecology and driving to conditions.

Yeah. He also got the bus bogged in soft sand and co-ordinated younger passengers and passers-by to dig/tow it out. Pretty impressive. It took longer than however long a joy flight with K'gari Air takes. Maybe 40 minutes? We enjoyed watching the plane take off and land while he toiled in the sand under the diff of the bus. First time I'd seen that, except I had watched the plane land on the beach at Barra in the Hebrides. Kirk's Scottish accent was as lilting as those of real Scots, by the way. And we got a great lunch and afternoon tea served up to us at Eli Creek and beautiful Lake McKenzie. I would have been prepared to swim, but Hubs chickened out.

Sunset from the ferry was magical. Only negative point for me was that on a previous tour our guide had shown us a funnelweb at Wangoolba Ck (Eeeuuuw!). Glad we didn't relive that experience, but Kirk said it was okay for some of the younger guests to go down there barefooted. That may have ended badly if the funnelweb or any snakes were down there. They weren't, of course, so everything was good.

Unique and special experience I’d heard great things about this tour and it certainly delivered. Kirk our guide was warm and welcoming and was very very friendly and knowledgeable about everything to do with the island and more. Food was delicious as a vegetarian I was catered for very well. Kirk was very safety conscious and aware of the dingos he obviously cares deeply for the island and helps preserve how pristine it is making sure no rubbish was left and making us aware of how to avoid issues with the dingos. We even had the opportunity to take a scenic flight over the island, an impromptu but very special and exciting experience where we spotted whales from the sky and saw the butterfly lakes and shipwreck from above. It was a long full on day and we were tired by the end of it but it really was a day we will remember and treasure forever. Thank you for sharing all your stories and knowledge with us. Kirk did a great job. 100% recommend as a family if 5 we all really enjoyed it.

Fantastic tour with Dave!
Dave was incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about K'gari — he had so many great stories to share. The bus was very comfortable, and even though it rained, we still saw so much! We spotted dingoes up close, Australian humpback dolphins from the ferry, and even white-bellied sea eagles. Dave kept us well-informed throughout the day with clear timings and insightful commentary, plus great recommendations for quieter spots. I'd definitely do it again — next time, I’d love to join a longer tour!

Amazing experience, Kirk was class Amazing day would and will highly recommend to friends. We had Kirk as our tour guide who had a plethora of knowledge about the island and its inhabitants, bringing a lot of enthusiasm. The tour felt more personal and definitely worth the price. Saw a lot of dingos, swam in some creeks and lakes, learnt a lot about the history of the island and the Butchella people who were native to K’Gora. Kirk was amazing and very friendly, 10/10 experience.

Best Kgari tour we’ve ever had! We booked a private tour, and it was absolutely worth the money. Lots of information and great locations. The guide probably chose times for the hotspots when there were no tourist buses around—brilliant!

Epic, K'gari!!! My Partner and I have just done a one day tour with our driver / guide and now our friend, Pete! There was also one other couple and the 5 of us got on very well.
The tour is extremely well organised. The pick up was punctual and Pete was very welcoming and friendly. We then collected the second couple and we were on our way.
K'gari is like no other place on Earth. It is simply magical. Pete's wealth of knowledge of the island and it's Aboriginal history is exemplary. Taking us out on the tour is not simply 'a job' for Pete; he has a real passion for what he does.
The shipwreck, the beach drives, the planes on the beach, the fauna and flora, the Dingos, Blue Kingfishers, Kookaburra and even the spiders were all brilliant! Lake McKenzie was breathtaking.
The only thing that we would change on our tour is that we wish we had done the 2 day tour.

Day tour of K’gari Had a fantastic 4 wheel drive tour yesterday. Our driver, Pete, was so knowledgeable on everything K’gari, answering every question asked of him. Took us to all the popular sights on this beautiful island, plus a couple of special ones. Great morning tea in the forest, lunch at Central Station and afternoon tea at Lake McKenzie, including a swim in the lake and champers and strawberries after. Would recommend this tour , especially if you only have one day.

Apsoloutey fabulous day We apsoloutey loved our K'GARI, Fraser island experience. Our tour guide was Pete, and how lucky we were to get Pete! Full of knowledge throughout the entire day and just an apsoloute pleasure to be around. We really enjoyed the one one one in our Toyota Landcruiser 4WD , myself, husband and 12 year old had just the best day, had lovely morning and afternoon tea, a really yummy lunch and even a glass of wine or two haha , to wash it down with. Fabulous fun K'gari tour What a very special treat to visit K’gari on a I day Fantastic Fraser Tour in a 7 seater 4 WD with Justin as our driver/guide. Justin’s passion about, knowledge of and respect for the island, its flora, fauna, Butchulla peoples and complexities of tourism, 4WDing experience, sense of humour and care of us was outstanding. He engaged with and managed our family group of varying ages and interests brilliantly. What a blast! What an absolute cracker of a day! Kirk made the day with his knowledge and stories about the history of K’gari as well as the folklore! The 17seater bus was a blast! We bounced up and down on the back row, cracking up laughing as we navigated the sandy trails around the island seeing the most exceptional spots! Would do it again for sure! Big day but worth it! 👍🏻👍🏻

Could not recommend highly enough. Despite the weather being a little wet we were still able to see everything that we hoped to, including a swim in Lake McKenzie. K’gari (Fraser Island) is an absolutely beautiful place and we were fortunate enough to see lots of whales, some dingoes and some stunning scenery. Dave, our guide, has outstanding knowledge of the island and was awesome and very informative throughout the day.

Would highly recommend this day tour, we were picked up on time from our caravan park in the bus and greeted by Dave our tour guide, was super friendly and his knowledge of the island was extremely in depth and interesting.
The locations were great and we enjoyed our morning tea and lunch. Which there was plenty of.
I accidentally left my phone at our lunch stop, which was obviously not ideal but Dave made a detour on the way back from the ship wreck so I could check if it was still there . Thank goodness it was along with a cheeky selfie of a gorgeous group of people who must of found my phone and put it up on a ledge for safe keeping ( thanks guys)

Great day on K'gari We had an amazing daytour to K'gari with Pete who gave us a lot of good information about the island, its fauna and flora, history and told us about the former indigenous inhabitants, settlers and woodworkers. We enjoyed the tour so much, especially the swim at Lake McKenzie. We can strongly recomand Pete and Fraser experience tours.

Amazing day at Fraser Island! (Thanks to Pete ????) We had such a great day with Pete. He was really funny and was super informative about everything. The weather was wet but we still had the best time. Lake mckenzie was unbelievable along side the walk down the creek! The roads were bumpy which made it more fun but we felt completely safe and comfortable in the car with Pete you could tell he was very experienced and loved his job! To see the wild Dingos amongst other animals and creatures on the tour was really great. If we had to pick one thing to be improved it would be the dinner provided. Unless you like carrot and lettuce in a wrap then I would suggest taking your own dinner. Other than that small detail everything else was really good. We would definitely go again maybe with the hope for some better weather but that didn’t ruin the day at all!

Really fun day at Fraser Island We did the one-day adventure tour. Our guide was Dave and he was great. Even though you are in a bus, it is not too big so a reasonable number of people. Everything was well planned and organized but with enough flexibility as things came up. Highly recommend this tour for anyone who only has a day to explore Fraser Island.

Wow what a day! We did the 1 day Frazer Island tour with our driver Kirk! My husband and I cannot stop talking about what a fantastic day we had. We were a bit worried about the weather as it was raining when we left but as the day went on the rain was just the occasional shower and we didn’t even really notice the rain, I think the rain might have even made our experience even more fun. We visited all of the places on the itinerary and they are truly amazing especially Lake Mackenzie, have never swam in a more beautiful place in my life. Kirk was fantastic, he talked all day to us explaining alot about each place we visited as well as some early settlement days, very interesting to listen to. He was a champion of the sandy/slushie roads and I have never laughed so much in my life on the back seat of a bus! Thanks Kirk for such a wonderful day!

There was only 3 of us but decided to book the extra seat to book out the 4 person 4wd tour. This has given us such a truly beautiful amazing magical experience and a new found respect & gratitude for K'gari and what it provides for us to experience. We were so lucky to have had Pete as our tour guide, he was very informative and respectful and enhanced our knowledge of what beauty we have right here in the Fraser Coast. We believe having Pete as our guide made our day so special as we thoroughly enjoyed his banter, humor and stories and his respect of the Butchilla people was truly admirable. What a day! Kirk our guide was great, very knowledgeable and you could see he cared about the island. The tour was fast paced and fun whilst allowing time at each stop. To appreciate the island you definitely need more than a day but the tour we did was great at getting as much as possible in. Kirk and Tim looked after us all day and taught us a lot. The flight across the island at an additional cost was amazing as well and worth the money.

We loved our tour with Pete, he was super informative about every detail from the animals & trees to the people who used to live on the island with their Dreamtime stories. He gave us plenty of time on each spot and put extra effort in to try make us see dingos too - which we luckily saw two! ????

Would definitely recommend these guys if you want an experienced, fun and educational tour of the island.

We had a lot of fun on the tour! The living lexicon, Kirk, is awesome. Thank you so much Kirk, it was so cool to sit up front with you and we felt very safe on the ride. The tour was a great adventure, we even saw 3 dingo pups and learnt how to behave properly.

K‘Gari is definitely worth a visit ???? Fraser Experience Tours was great. We did a private tour with a very knowledgeable guide. They pick you up at the hotel in the morning in a Defender and have drinks and food on board, more than you need. You just relax and enjoy the beauty of the nature. Definitely a recommendation!

Fantastic trip Went on the four people tour with Pete yesterday was absolutely fantastic. Learnt all about the island and the history, stopped at some fantastic places . Swimming in the lake and wading through the stream, and saw lots of dingos . Food and drink was good too. Pete made it an extra special trip. Would definitely go on a two day tour if we come this way again.

K'gari day trip We did a day tour to K'gari with fabulous driver and guide, Pete. It was fantastic to explore the island in our small group of 4, and Pete was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and fun. We felt very safe in his care as we 4wd around the island. He respectfully shared traditional stories and perspectives of traditional custodians, the Butchulla peoples.

Fantastic experience; highly recommend My friend and I did the 1-day K’gari Exclusive experience tour on September 21 and it was amazing. Just us and two other people, and we had a fabulous time. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and told us tons about the island, the plants, animals and birds, and the history. We saw plenty of the top sights but didn’t feel rushed. And what we saw was so gorgeous and awe-inspiring! Our guide also did his best to avoid the crowds which was nice. And the extra touches were wonderful—morning tea with quite a selection plus a great lunch with beer and wine and then champagne and chocolate in the afternoon. Really made it special. I highly recommend this company and tour —you will be thrilled!

He came with a nice Landrover 4x4. The best car Les told us to experience Fraser Island.

He didn't lie. Les droves us to and over Fraser Island. We felt comfortable and safe during the whole trip. Les knows a lot about Fraser Island, the animals, the plants, etc. It was great to hear him tell interesting things. Also his humor was our cup of tea.

And we were lucky to spot two Dingos and could take great photos of them.

Worth mentioning was Lake Mckenzie, the beach highway, the shipwreck and as mentioned before the Dingos :)

He was respectful of the indigenous culture and their Dreamtime stories; informative and knowledgeable of the land and places we visited; and looked after us with exemplary customer service from pick up to drop off. Fantastic Tour A wonderful day tour! Took in so many amazing places with Pete, our terrific tour guide. Only 4 of us tourists and Pete took extremely good care of us. Very considerate of my mobility issues. Very respectful of First Nation people and their cultural boundaries. We enjoyed all the information imparted to us about the different areas, the history as well as bush/forest and plants knowledge.

Our guide Kirk was simply sensational!!

His knowledge and story telling made the day.
At times it was quiet fast paced stopping at spots, but due to a delayed ferry over we had to make up time. But Kirk didn’t make you feel stressed just communicated what needed to happen to keep us on track. His driving skills are second to none, navigating some narly tracks & beach stretches at times.

We enjoyed the door to door service with pick up & drop off, especially after a big day.

Our only minor improvement feedback would be for some more meat in the lunch wraps. With such a big day a little more protein would sustain you better, it felt light on.

Overall though, highly recommend & such a. Great group size of 17 people.

Wow! What an amazing day we had with Tony as our guide. He picked us up early in the morning from right outside our hotel and then took us on a full tour of all the best bits of Fraser Island. We booked on the Fantastic Fraser Island Tour, so it was just our family of 5, one other guest and Tony. Tony was brilliant at avoiding the crowds and making sure we hit the attractions at the best time. Thanks so much for a full-on Fantastic day!

exclusive tour is highly recommended Fantastic day on the island on the k’gari exclusive tour with Pete as our driver. There were just four of us on our exclusive tour and as we dont like crowds it was great to avoid crowds of people. The roads are unique - sand dunes in a forest. The island is diverse and beautiful. Pete had a great balance of interesting history, local dreamtime stories, current and past info and a passion for the island.

We are kiwis - so i were more concerned about the spiders and snakes than dingos. But Pete showed us a death adder snake - and it was peaceful and incredible.

We had a great group and enjoyed the company of the other couple. The bubbles, strawberries and chocolates a great way to finish a fantastic day.

Awesome experience on K‘Gari, perfectly tailored to our needs! Highly recommended! We did the 3 Day Exclusive Tour with Pete as our driver and stayed at the Eurong Hotel. Pete perfectly tailored the day to our needs on the go and allowed us to visit all highlights on the island with our three kids. He always managed to avoid the crowds so we could enjoy all spots in the perfect moment, sometimes just by ourselves. Pete was the perfect host and made our stay a memorable experience! Thanks! Excellent 1 Day Eco Adventure on K’Gari (Frasier Island) Just got back from our 1 Day Tour of K’Gari. It was a fabulous visit with Frasier Experience and all four of us (two couples) agreed that our Tour Guide, Kirk, was absolutely top class. His encyclopaedic knowledge and highly personable approach made the tour an absolute joy.

We stopped at the major attractions including Central Station, the wreck, the Pinnacles, the creeks and more. A dingo wandered up through the crowd of people on the creek bank seemingly completely unperturbed by our presence. Kirk also stopped off by one of the light aircraft operators who were offering a 15 minute island plane ride for $100 per person. We took up the offer and enjoyed a fantastic flight over the island while Kirk met us further down the beach.

We would thoroughly recommend the Fraser Experience. Thanks Kirk! Lots of fun and thoroughly enjoyable.

An excellent and personal way to see the best of K'Gari We did the K'Gari Exclusive Tour in a vehicle with David as our driver and one other couple. This was perfect for us and a very personal and interesting tour. The "roads" at K'Gari are mostly all sand and single lane so the tour was definitely the way to go for maximizing the experience. It is a long day with pickup at our accommodation at 7.20am and we arrived back around 6.30pm. The vehicle ferry is a 20 minute drive from Hervey Bay and nice to start the day with the ferry crossing.
We saw all the main highlights of the island and came away with our heads full of the history, information about the flora and fauna and many stories well narrated by David (we called them audio books). Morning tea, lunch with wine and beer, and afternoon tea with strawberries, chocolate and bubbles were all supplied and all really nice.
We'd highly recommend this full day tour as an excellent way to see K'Gari (Fraser Island).

Awesome special island tour We had the most awesome tour of Kgari with tour guide Pete. This place is absolutely beautiful and unique and having such a knowledgeable, wonderful, awesome tour guide as Pete made the day even more special. His knowledge of the island is fantastic just what you want for your tour. The service provided by Fraser Experience tours is beyond is way beyond words so spectacular from the pick up at your door to the drop off and everything in between. The morning tea, picnic linch and afternoon tea was just fantastic.

Great Day in K’gari!!! Yesterday my wife and I spent the day on K’gari. Pete was a tour guide and it was the best days of our lives! We got picked up at our hotel before taking the barge over to the island. From there, Pete entertained us with countless stories and interesting facts about K’gari. We were so impressed with the itinerary. There was enough time to explore and relax at each stop.
Pete was so accommodating and pleasant to be with. We really can’t say enough great things.
I would recommend asking for him - he’s spent 40 years on the island and you could tell you are getting a special experience.
I hope others enjoy the island as much as we did.

4WD private tour We did a 1 day private tour of K'Gari island with our 2 kids, ages 2 and 6! Pete was our tour driver and he was very informative and accommodating. The tour was excellent and we enjoyed the picnic lunch, morning tea and afternoon tea provided. Pete made us feel safe and we felt looked after! Highly recommend booking Pete for your tour!

Wow…What a remarkable Tour! We had the most remarkable day on K’Gari (Fraser Island) a most unique habitat; there is nothing else like it. Our wonderful tour guide Les knew the island incredibly well and took us to see flora and fauna that virtually only exists there in a truly natural way. It was educational and enjoyable and we enjoyed our picnic lunch near the beach. A big thanks to Les.

K’gari Tour We had a wonderful day with Kirk, from picking us up to bringing us back to our hotel and everything in between was a great experience.
Just to let Kirk know, we have nothing for Fred but we hope that Kirk never stops talking.

Amazing day with Kirk We visited amazing K’Gari on the all day tour recently. What an absolutely amazing day my wife Ellie and I had! Kirk the driver and guide was sensational!! His obvious passion for what he does, his knowledge of the history and geography of the island was incredible. The stories he told, and places he took us - also the stopovers for morning tea and lunch near magic Eli Creek to swim in and also a beautiful rainforest. Lake McKenzie is out of this world!
Kirks respect and admiration for the Butchulla people also was very evident.
Kirk was so friendly,interesting to listen to, and he has a great personality and sense of humour also, which really added to our experience. Kirk picked us up and dropped us off back at our caravan park in Hervey Bay which made it so easy and relaxing. The return boat ride to K’Gari was also cool!
Thank you again Kirk for a brilliant day! We will be back!
