When you make your booking please include any special requests, as well as where you would like the tour to start from (pickup available from any city location — we’ll use public transport to navigate through the city).

We will happily pickup meet you from any city centre location to begin the experience.
Should you be arriving on a cruise we do offer an additional service to escort you from the cruise terminal via public transport to the Downtown/Centre City/ CBD. Please note this will add on 30 minutes to your 3 hour experience and is an additional cost of $150 AUD. We can alternatively provide details on how to reach our preferred start point via public transport from the Port terminal should you wish to make your own way to the city.

Sun 28 Sept 2025 completed the Melbourne Walking Tour with Emily. It was a great three hours with the small group, and Emily was a very friendly and knowledgeable guide who clearly showed how passionate she is about her home town. We got to see and experience some very pertinent places that shaped Melbourne's history. Fair bit of walking at a steady pace, so wear comfy shoes, but I would definitely recommend this tour for sure!

It was a fabulous tour. I loved that we were a small group. I could ask any questions I liked and I could always hear our guide, Emily, even in the noisiest settings. Marvellous Memorable Melbourne Experience. 10/10. A wonderful informative walk. I felt I was part of a live performance as we travelled through the history of Melbourne. We found this walking tour online and it had incredible reviews. We have been on walking tours before so we were intrigued to see how this one would compare. We were far from disappointed. Hugo, our tour guide, is truly passionate about his beloved city of Melbourne. He was full of trivia and proudly showed our group areas we would not find on our own. The museums and Lane Ways are truly unique to Melbourne and those alone made the walking tour awesome. Adding on the coffee shops and explaining the coffee culture was a great value added. We recommend this tour to start your visit so you can plan around what you see. This was one of the best walking tours we have been on.

Best walking tour I have ever done Hugo did a great job in guiding us around the cultural highlights of central Melbourne. There is a great balance of must see locations as well as more quirky stuff not in the guide books. Hugo was an enthusiastic host. There is a tour is limited to 12 people, which makes it more expensive but the intimacy is well worth it. Loved the coffee break.read moreread less

I did 2 tours, including the Laneway and cocktail tour and both were simply fabulous. Hugo was a highly knowledgeable & entertaining guide who is full of humour & wisdom.

The night I booked, I was the only person - Hugo kindly offered me the following day with a group, a refund or a unique private tour. Due to schedule, I was unable to rebook so went for the personal tour.
Hugo was very knowledgeable and great company for the evening. He tailored the tour so l had the best experience ever. We were welcomed at all restaurants and bars visited which enriched the evening.
At the end of the evening, Hugo marked off all the places we'd visited on a map so I was able to return at my leisure.
This tour is a definite must whilst in Melbourne and my favourite one of them all. Thank you

We had a fantastic experience on the Melbourne Night Bites tour with Simon. What makes this tour unique is that it changes based on the day of the week, time of year, and even the taste of the guests on the tour. It’s not the same boilerplate experience every time. Simon took us to a variety of spots around Melbourne’s CBD, including a unique Indian snack, a full-blown Peking duck experience, and Japanese gelato for dessert. We did this on the last night of our trip but would recommend doing it earlier so you can put your new knowledge of Melbourne to good use.

My wife and I joined Depot’s 3 hour CBD tour a couple days ago with our guide Denille. It was a great tour to explore Melbourne’s Central Business District. It was a great combination of history, architecture and culture - it was a perfect package in 3 hours. The laneways are so cool. Danielle was friendly and knowledgeable. Walking the best Melbourne has to offer Laura was an amazing guide both knowledgeable and fun. This tour has a bit of everything history, culture, shopping, laneways and street art. You get a coffee or other hot beverage whilst walking and the tour ends at a pub where a beer/cider or non alcoholic drink is included and lunch can be purchased. We took the "Complete Melbourne Walking Tour" of the CDB. I had high hopes for the tour to get some history of some of the older buildings that have some amazing architecture. The tour included a coffee stop and then later a beer stop.
The reality of the tour was that we basically did a speed walk in order to keep up with our tour guide. The guide even got peeved with me for stopping to try and get some photos.
The coffee stop only offered only two types of coffee and no food option. And then at the end of the tour when we stopped at the pub, the only beer option included was a lager. If we wanted anything different it was on us to purchase it.

The best city to visit! As a first time visitor to this lovely city I fell in love with everything. Our accommodation in Little Bourke Street was centrally located to the city. I loved that the trams inside the CBD designated area were free - hop on or off whenever, I loved the Royal Arcade and the Block Arcade with their unique shops and fabulous all day dining. I loved the little laneways full of Al fresco dining opportunities. I loved the family atmosphere during the evening when lots of people gathered to see the Christmas light show at Southbank. The walks along the rivers edge were well marked, the parks and gardens in the CBD were picturesque and well looked after. I loved the markets, good bargains.read moreread less

Tour is just OK I was disappointed in the walking tour. Unfortunately I do not remember the name of the tour guide. She did take us around Melbourne City Center but I had no idea where I was should I wish to get back there and she did not tell us much about what we were seeing except for the laneways. We did enter one building, the Library and that was quite interesting. She also did provide background information on the history of Australia at the very start of the tour and that was quite informative. However, the tour runs from 11:00 -2:00. It provides a very small cup of take out coffee after about one hour and then drops you a pub at 2:00 where it provides a small glass of beer or a soft drink where you can purchase a very mediocre meal. As the tour is over lunch time I think it should provide lunch at a good traditional restaurant and forget the take out coffee and beer. I would not recommend this tour.read moreread less

A wonderful three hours spent with Hugo our tour guide who was incredibly well informed, humorous and knowledgeable. It was a great way to learn about the laneways culture of Melbourne and to find out not just the best spots to go and see around the City but also the back stories you just don’t hear from going out and about on your own.
Just be wary asking Hugo to take a photo as he loves to play jokes on you… seriously, he is a very funny tour guide and great value!

Absolutely loved this tour. I'd been to Melbourne a few times but wanted to learn more about the city, the history and find some places off the beaten track to eat and drink. Hugo, our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and managed to tick every box I was looking for on this trip. I learned so much about the history of the city and all the significant landmarks whilst also exploring the hidden laneways and finding some excellent cafes, bars and restaurants which I was able to later explore more thoroughly in my own time. If I could give 100 stars, I would. My mum and I joined the Secret Laneway Bars walking tour (3 hours, 4 bars) hosted by the very brilliant, Hugo. A Melbournian born and raised, he knows his stuff and took us to some epic local haunts.
We stopped off at each bar to grab a drink and enjoy the space before moving on. Each bar/stop on the tour had a completely different vibe and je nais se quios about it so there is something for everyone - or something completely new to try.
True to their word, we never would have found or known about the incredible bars we visited without the tour. It definitely lives up to its name of “secret Laneway bars”.
