Great Day out! Unwind Tours were fabulous. They put together a great wine tour for us. Gerard our tour guide was so friendly, easy going and we had a great time with him. Would recommend Unwind Tours if anyone is thinking of a Swan Valley wine tour.

Friends Winter Swan Valley Wine Tour Paul and Ally from Unwind Tours were amazing to work with. Our wine tour through the Swan Valley with a large group of friends was incredibly well organized and we all had a fabulous day.

Worst tour I have ever been on, by far. This tour has singlehandedly put me off ever doing another tour again.

We paid $475pp for this "wine tour", which on the itinerary included morning tea, a visit to 3 wineries as well as a visit to a chocolate factory and olive oil factory. We weren't given morning tea (we had to pay for ourselves) and we were only taken to two wineries. We also paid extra for a cheeseboard, which was not provided. Paul's driving was so erratic we were in fear of our lives and he was also holding his phone while driving. He also scolded us when the lunch took too long and we had to sit there for a bit longer, when that was beyond our control.

We emailed to complain about the poor experience we had several times and they have never responded, very unprofessional and dishonest behaviour. Once they have your money they don't want to hear from you again. I wish I had bothered to read the reviews prior to booking this tour, as I can see many have had a similar experience.

I also can see they have made 5 different websites, which is likely to hid the fact that they have so many 1 star reviews.

Tour never showed up. Dire communication. Very slow getting a refund. Be warned! I have to start by saying that I have no idea how good the tours with Unwind Tours might be, because we never succeeded in going on one.

Back in November 2024 we booked the Margaret River Signature wine tour plus cheese boards for me and my wife for the last day of a long holiday in Australia in April 2025 as a final, luxury farewell to Australia before heading home. We booked online and paid a total of AUD 550 and received an email confirmation and receipt.

In Australia, the evening before the tour, having heard nothing further I emailed Unwind Tours to check the pickup arrangements from our accommodation in Margaret River. The following morning, having still heard nothing more I rang the mobile number I had and left a message. Still nothing and the pickup time came and went.

Eventually, having dug out an alternative number from the internet I spoke to Shane who said they had no record of the booking. He seemed willing to try to sort out something but explained that it might take time to reach us (hours not minutes) and that anything he did wouldn't be the tour we'd booked. By this time the local visitor centre had rung round and found an alternative, albeit much more basic tour that was at least definitely available.

To cut a long story short it then took 2 weeks and numerous text messages (which cost as I was then back in England) and emails to eventually make contact with Paul at Unwind Tours and obtain a refund.

The only excuses were:

1. That the system I had booked through (the confirmation email came from "rezdy.com") hadn't communicated this through to Unwind Tours (so it had never made it into their diary);

2. That Paul had been away (presumably why emails / text messages and voicemails attended to - but why does nobody else pick them up if the boss is away / why isn't the boss checking communications on his phone if nobody else is doing it?).

Altogether a communication shambles on their part.

Be warned. If you haven't had direct confirmation specifically from Paul, don't assume that the tour will happen.

Very positive experience in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Had a two day private tour with Terry as our guide. Goal was to see Perth and the surrounding area. Had a great two days featuring wine tasting, a visit to the Wild Animal Park, tour of Kings Park, and wonderful closing dinner at Fraser's in Kings Park. Nice van with microphone so we could hear dialogue all the way to the back of the bus. Very accommodating to meat any of our wishes. Terry very knowledgeable.

Worst experience on a tour👎 My story is almost identical to another poor review. If only I had seen it before booking mine!
Our group of 5 booked this tour through the Get your Guide website. It cost us $475 per person for a Perth to Margaret River day tour. Apparently the tour itinerary included a tour of some of Margaret River's most acclaimed boutique wineries and visits to Vasse Virgin gourmet food and Gabriel's chocolate and Canal Rocks.

Not more than a few minutes after booking, I received a call from the "Director of Fun" Paul wanting more details about our group. Then a few days before our tour, I received an email from Paul's assistant - Ally asking if Paul could call me later in the day to discuss our tour. He then called me that evening and requested our group cancel the booking from the third party website and book directly through his so he could avoid paying a commission. He said he would buy a bottle of Margaret River wine as a thank you. I spoke with our group who were hesitant to do so but agreed to help a small business. We booked through Unwind Tours directly and even added another $30 worth of cheeseboards. Paul said he would take this tour himself even though he is the owner and hasn't done many tours.

The day of the tour arrived and we were picked up by Paul. One of the group members was staying at a different hotel and paid the same amount as the rest but was not offered to be picked up from their location. They had to walk to a nearby hotel for pickup instead.

The van was old, untidy and had scratched up windows. While driving, Paul kept turning his head away from the road and looking at us while talking. His driving was hazardous - driving 60 km/hr on 110 km/hr freeway. Multiple cars were overtaking us on the 4 hr drive one way. One of the group members asked Paul which wineries we would be visiting and he responded, "Wise winery." But was vague about any other locations.

He stopped at the Crooked Carrot cafe for "morning tea" because according to the itinerary again, morning tea and coffee was included. However, when we got there, he only asked two of our group which coffee we would like and the others quickly rushed over not to miss out. We ended up purchasing our own food as no morning tea was provided.

When we got to Wise, Paul told us we would be having lunch here as well and to "take our time" and call him when we were ready. The cost of the 3 course lunch and wine tasting was $90 per person and was included in the tour. We ordered the lunch and were served the dessert when Paul called me asking if we were finished as we were getting "too comfortable." I explained to Paul that we were only going as fast as the food was served.

He was in a passive aggressive mood when he returned to pick us up and even pulled over to take a phone call after scolding us for taking too long with lunch. He then drove us to Credaro Winery for a quick tasting and no cheeseboard was served at any time. He then asked if we still wanted to visit Canal Rocks? Of course the group still wanted to continue with the itinerary but there no mention of the chocolate factory or gourmet food tasting. This was completely omitted from the tour.

We spent less than 20 minutes at Canal Rocks and one of the tour members wanted to wait for sunset. It was only 10 minutes before sunset but Paul refused to allow our group member to watch the sunset at the rocks. He then drove to the accommodation village nearby to purchase himself a coffee and parked right in the middle of a driveway blocking cars from exiting the village. He mentioned how the shop he just visited had "some great wines." But no mention our wine which was promised.

Our drive back was awkward and uncomfortable and the group avoided all conversation so we get home safely. He dropped us off and still no wine!
I emailed them requesting a refund for the cheeseboard which was reluctantly given and a $38 wine dropped off at our hotel to share between 5! I asked for a partial refund given the poor service and lack of itinerary. No response from Unwind Tours.

Perfect Day of Wine, Views, and Relaxation We had an amazing experience with Unwind Tours celebrating our engagement! From the moment we were picked up, everything was well-organised and stress-free. Our guide Gerard was friendly, making the day both fun and informative. Each winery we visited had something unique to offer, and the tastings were generous and high-quality. Lunch was delicious and in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing day of wine, scenery, and great company!

For my 50th birthday, I wanted to create something truly special with my closest family and friends. I had a vision, and thankfully, Unwind Tours helped bring it to life with a fantastic full-day Bickley Valley Wine, Gin & Cider Tour for our group of 19.

From the beginning, Ally was incredible. She handled all the pre-organisation with such attention to detail—everything from pre-ordering our lunch to arranging beautiful cheese platters and all the little touches in between. She kept me updated every step of the way, right up to the day before the tour, which made the whole process feel effortless and stress-free.

From start to finish, Paul was absolutely amazing—professional, friendly, and incredibly accommodating. Despite a delay due to traffic, Paul managed the situation seamlessly by calling ahead and adjusting our schedule so that everything still ran smoothly. Thanks to him, we didn’t miss a thing, and the day unfolded perfectly.

It was a relaxed, enjoyable, and memorable day filled with laughter, great drinks, and wonderful company. I can’t recommend Unwind Tours and Paul enough for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion in style.

A perfect Day Trip We thoroughly recommend this day trip to Margaret River. Paul was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable about the area. The highlights of the tour were visiting Busselton and enjoying a wonderful three-course lunch at Clairault Winery.

MARGARET RIVER SIGNATURE TOUR Wow! What a great experience. Previously, I'd enjoyed a wine tour of the Swan Valley with Unwind Tours, so I went on their Margaret River full-day Signature Tour tour from Perth. The good guide/driver took us to so many new interesting places. Lunch at Clairault Estate was superb. The best Margaret River wine at Credaro tasted great. This is a must-do tour. It was a worthwhile, happy experience that will live long in my mind.

In a word, "Spectacular!" Look no further. Best tour I've ever experienced and I've done a few from Barossa to the wineries of Europe. A expertised guide, Shane was a standout. Knowledgeable, professional and clearly knows his stuff. He went above and beyond to make a reunion with friends amazing. He is a true asset and we will be booking again in the Spring! The lunch at Clairault winery was 5 star and the selection of wine tastings was spot on and tailored to our tastes. Shane also accommodated us with what we liked and took us to places that have now become new favourites. Thanks once again.

BEST FULL DAY GUIDED TOUR MARGARET RIVER WINE REGION Unwind Tour's guided "Signature Tour" was well worth the extra expense. The informative, friendly, local safe driver/guide or should I say FABULOUS host, bursting with local knowledge and country hospitality, chauffeured us to THE best place in the Margaret River wine region, including Clairault Estate for a delicious lunch and Credaro's winery for superb PREMIUM wine tasting. Everything we wanted was included in this HIGHLY RECOMMENDED full-day tour.

This was a great tour. Shane was excellent and the winery choices were ones that we all enjoyed. It was a great day out to celebrate a 60th birthday

The way this operator conducts his tours is a joke firstly you book thru a third party.we had organised a private tour for 5 people no problem Only to be rang by owner of unwind tours to cancel our booking. And re book with them oh he said the company will give you a full refund ! Why bother using a third party ? Sited with only 5 people he wouldn’t make enough money ! Not sure on his theory with that but ok. Cancelled and paid him directly He took the payment as a cash advance hmmm how does that work. ? We then had his guide Ring as well and say we don’t do private tours ? Yes on the website You do!
Had quite a talk with him only to have him turn up Saturday. With 5 extras !!! So they picked up another $875 from them. Talk about a scam !!! this guy drove the bus like he stole it gave us no research into the winery’s he took us too poor quality service. We were to have gin and cider tour as well not even close to that never happened and very poor all around thankfully with family and friends we made our own tour would have been cheaper to hire an taxi driver to be the skipper $1700 for the day. Don’t waste your money on this company scammers

Great day we were picked up from accomodation. Visited wineries we had not been before and the 3 course lunch was amazing. The day was really laid back and the guide let us set the pace we were never rushed out of a venue, it was good value for money.

Prior to the day one lady had to cancel. This was not a problem with the refund being received the next day,

Swan Valley Wine Tour We had a great day out at Swan valley! Special shout-out to Ally who was on top of everything and organised things to perfection. Margaret River Adventure We had an absolutely fabulous day trip to the Margaret River Region with our host Paul. Along the journey / adventure we were taken to many sites and the bus trip was broken up with perfect stopovers at great locations. Paul coupled with our Bus Driver ‘Gerard’ made it truly a day to remember forever.
My advice is “ Don’t make a fuss - just get on the bus “.

Would highly recommend! We had a great day on the Margaret River Signature Boutique Wine Tour! It was a last-minute plan to visit the beautiful Southwest. Paul and Ally efficiently put together a plan and managed to fit us in with less than 24 hours' notice. The three-course lunch and wine/gin tasting were delicious. Shane our driver was amazing. Would highly recommend. We will definitely be using Unwind Tours again in the future. Thank you!

CELEBRATING A SPECIAL MILESTONE Celebrating a 50th . Our driver Gerard made our day fun as six of us boarded the mini bus and headed to Swan Valley. Faber Vineyards spoilt us with a bottle of bubbles & a lovely host. Nikola oozed with style and Mandoon provided a beautiful lunch overlooking their vines. Donelle at Tylers was a stand out with her lovely hospitality.

Totally disappointing We booked this as a treat as was very expensive nearly 500 AD. The organiser phoned us the night before to say we would be the only 2 people and it would be a private tour, it was advertised as a gourmet lunch, at least 3 wineries, olive oil and chocolate tasting and sightseeing from Perth to Margaret river. The guide turned up the next morning in a old people carrier and was clearly not a tour guide, he said he didn't know much about wine. He did not have an itinerary and we had not been sent one. We arrived at the first winery, he said it was for a tasting but the winery host said it was for lunch, he went off to phone his boss, we had a very good tasting and delicious lunch, but it was ruined by the guide interrupting to ask questions about the tour. I eventually spoke to the organiser who said we were only due to visit one winery, I said the ad was for at least three, he eventually agreed to others, but we would have to pay. We were left to organise our own wineries, we knew one and the guide took us to another that his girlfriend liked. Due to the delay we did not have time to do chocolate or olive oil tastings. We asked for a refund and eventually received 10% from Aviator. We have done wine tours in various parts of the world including Australia and this was by far the most expensive and most disappointing, not because of the wineries or wines, because of the tour operator, I would advise to avoid any tours organised by Unwind

Quite disappointed with my tour experience. Booked the Swan Valley Boutique Wine Tour through Unwind thinking we’d get to go to a range of premium wineries as listed in the tour description. Instead we were put on a Perth Sightseeing tour that had a 30 minute stop at the park, only one stop at a winery and the intention of driving us around a sporting stadium. Not what we paid for.
Ian, the driver was the only redeeming factor. He was accommodating and professional about the ‘mix up’. He added in one more winery stop and agreed to drop us at another winery while the rest of the tour went to the scheduled chocolate factory stop, which was appreciated. However the tour still missed the mark. Feedback has been given privately to the company with no response received.

Everything went according to plan. I only had one day available on a business trip and Unwind was the only company I came across who could make the trip to Margaret River in one day.

Paul picked me up early and we headed right down there.

Nice mix of wineries and the lunch was great.

We had the best time on our tour with Unwind! Shane was an incredible host and we enjoyed spending the day with him and the rest of our group. Shane did a great job at letting us relax but gently nudging us when we had to get back on the road so that we didn't run out of time at the last winery! What a great value for money too! We stopped at three wineries, a brewery for lunch, and a gin distillery. All tastings plus lunch and a pint were included in the price, and the price was cheaper than most other tours. A lot of other tours don't include tastings in their price, but I would much rather be with Unwind and not worry about taking out my wallet at every stop! Thanks for a wonderful day :)

Unwind Tours was fantastic from the get go! Paul and Ally were available to answer any and all questions for our wine tour of the Swan Valley for our Hen’s party! Paul made the tour all that more enjoyable.. we visited a number of wineries and rounded out the day with a gin tasting! We all had a great day and now want to book another wine tour down south!

What a way to end the year. A day out with the girls, a sneaky night away and best of all we didn’t have to drive. We had the best day out with Paul from Unwind tours. He was so much fun and took us to some great places including Taylor’s, where we got our own special label.
