If your kids need a reset from surfing the Net let’s get them surfing some beautiful local waves and have fun with other kids their ages.  With Get Wet safety is our number 1 priority, especially for kids, our lessons are FUN, SAFE and Easy.  

This particular class is for 10 to 13 year olds and they are run daily throughout school holidays and on weekends throughout the school terms. Our kids’ lessons have no more than 4 kids per instructor, the lessons are held in safe shallow water, and we do not have adults riding big boards in the class or near the kids in the water.  

Our kids are separated into age-appropriate groups:  

Squids for ages 6-9 years  

Kids for ages 10- 13 years.  

Teens over 14 years can join our adult’s classes just book in at the student rate.  

Families: (mixed ages 8+) If your family would like to try out surfing together, we have family classes for participants 8 years and up and only adults who are surfing with their own kids are allowed to join.  

Children under 6 years must do a private lesson so they have an instructor in the water with them the entire time. 

If your family has a mix of age groups, we try our best to schedule classes so they can all go at the same time but grouped with kids their own age.

Surfing is such a great sport for all ages and these sessions are designed to give them a taste of surfing and hopefully they love it and want to come back for more. The Intro to surf session is the prerequisite to our Beginner surf programs and we cover the following: 

• Identify the parts of the surf board and equipment 

• Basic surf awareness 

• Recognise hazards in the surf such as rips 

• Learn the steps to standing on a board 

• Ride a broken wave in the white wash assisted by the instructor 

• How to fall off safely in the shallows
