DAY – 1 

PERTH TO MARGARET RIVER 

Busselton Jetty, Cape Naturaliste, Margaret River 

Depart Perth this morning and travel south on the Margaret River, Pemberton, Albany and Hyden Wave Rock 7-Day Tour.

At Busselton, visit the iconic Busselton Jetty, the longest timber-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. Enjoy a scenic train ride 1.8 kilometres along the jetty to the Underwater Observatory, where colourful soft corals cling to the pylons and vibrant fish move through the clear waters.

Lunch is at Eagle Bay Brewing Co, with relaxing pastoral views across to Bunker Bay.

Continue to Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse, where sweeping views of the Indian Ocean stretch across Geographe Bay. In season, watch for whales breaching offshore before taking a gentle walk along the Cape to Cape Track towards Sugarloaf Rock.

Sugarloaf Rock is a striking granite formation set just offshore, with spectacular coastal views along this easy and rewarding trail.

Nearby Canal Rocks reveals the raw power of the Indian Ocean as waves surge through weathered rock channels. Keep an eye out for seals resting on the rocks in the sunshine.

Travel south along picturesque Caves Road, renowned for the Margaret River region’s premium wineries, rolling countryside and forest scenery, before arriving in Margaret River town.

Dinner at Morries is a memorable dining experience, offering moreish snacks, creative cocktails, wines and beers in a relaxed atmosphere designed to make you feel right at home.

DAY – 2 

Surfers Point, Boranup Forest, Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse 

After breakfast at the White Elephant Café in Gnarabup, overlooking the Indian Ocean, visit Surfers Point to watch local and visiting surfers test their skills on internationally renowned waves.

Surfers Point is famous for the thunderous swell of Main Break and the surfers who take on its powerful breakers. It is a wonderful place to pause and enjoy one of Margaret River’s most celebrated coastal scenes.

Travel through Boranup Karri Forest on a scenic dirt trail, an enjoyable soft-adventure drive beneath towering karri trees, some more than 60 metres high. Sunlight filters across their smooth, pale trunks, and there may be opportunities to spot emus, kangaroos and colourful birdlife along the way.

Visit Hamelin Bay, a serene sandy bay well known for the stingrays that often glide through its clear shallows. Continue along the coastline to charming Cosy Corner, a peaceful and picturesque seaside stop.

Continue to Cape Leeuwin, where the Southern Ocean and Indian Ocean meet, and enjoy the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse Tower Climb Tour.

Lunch is at The Colourpatch Café in beautiful Augusta, with views overlooking the Blackwood River.

DAY 3– 

MARGARET RIVER Pemberton 

Travel across to Nannup and visit Cambray Cheese, a small family-operated cheese factory and sheep dairy celebrated for its award-winning ewe’s milk cheeses, along with a range of cow’s milk cheeses.

Cambray Cheese has been recognised by the WA Good Food Guide as one of Western Australia’s leading producers, as voted by chefs.

Nannup is a beautifully preserved timber town, rich in character and history dating back to the early 1900s.

This picture-perfect farming and timber town offers quaint cafés and local stores to browse, and has provided a scenic backdrop for several national film productions.

As we approach Manjimup, the landscape changes to the iconic southern karri forests. Visit the Four Aces, a remarkable straight row of karri trees more than 300 years old.

Lunch today is at Tall Timbers in Manjimup, showcasing beautiful local cuisine and acclaimed regional wines.

Continue to scenic Pemberton, an old timber town surrounded by magnificent old-growth karri forests. Visit the Gloucester Tree, a giant karri standing 58 metres high and one of the tallest fire lookout trees in the area. While access to the lookout is temporarily closed for maintenance, nearby forest trails offer a rewarding way to enjoy the setting.

A highlight of the day is travelling along Heartbreak Trail, a picturesque forest drive following the Warren River beneath a canopy of Warren karri forest.

Our overnight stay is at Karri Valley Resort, set on the edge of Lake Beedelup and surrounded by tall karri forest. The resort’s natural charm provides a peaceful and memorable setting for the evening.

This evening, enjoy dinner with 180-degree lakeside views while savouring some of the Southern Forests’ finest fresh produce.

DAY 4– 

Pemberton Albany 

Pemberton, WOW Wilderness Cruise, Tree Top Walk, Albany

This morning begins with an early departure south to Walpole, travelling through majestic tall karri forests along the way.

Surrounded by national parks and wilderness, Walpole is the perfect setting for the inspiring WOW Wilderness Cruise on the Nornalup Inlet.

WOW Wilderness Eco Cruises are nationally recognised as one of Australia’s most entertaining and educational ecotourism experiences.

This two-and-a-half-hour guided wilderness cruise travels through the Walpole and Nornalup Inlets Marine Park into the heart of the Walpole Wilderness, combining a scenic boat journey with an interpretive walk into the Nuyts Wilderness Area. Expect engaging commentary, fascinating history and beautiful natural surrounds.

After lunch, visit the ancient Tingle forests, remarkable remnants of the Gondwana era, and experience the spectacular Tree Top Walk and Valley of the Giants.

The drive into the Tree Top Walk is spectacular, with towering karri and red tingle trees rising from the forest and setting the scene for the experience ahead.

Stroll high among the upper branches of giant tingle and karri trees for a memorable bird’s-eye view of the southern forests. This is a fun, exhilarating and unforgettable experience.

Below the Tree Top Walk, a winding boardwalk leads through the Ancient Empire, a grove of veteran red tingle trees. Here, you can walk among immense trunks and even step through the hollowed base of one ancient tree.

DAY 5 –

Albany 

This morning, enjoy a leisurely cruise along the ancient Kalgan River, surrounded by the natural beauty and rich stories of the region. As you glide along the waterway, hear fascinating insights into Aboriginal history and Dreamtime stories, the journeys of early seafarers and settlers, and the remarkable diversity of local wildlife.

Keep watch for pelicans, dolphins, sea eagles and fur seals along the way. Morning refreshments, including homemade damper, will be served on board during the cruise.

Visit the Natural Bridge and The Gap in Torndirrup National Park, where dramatic granite formations have been shaped over time by the powerful forces of the Great Southern Ocean.

DAY 6 

Albany Hyden 

Natural Bridge and The Gap, National Anzac Centre, Hyden

Before leaving Albany, explore the scenic city and its surrounds. As Western Australia’s oldest European settlement, Albany has a fascinating and well-preserved history with both British and French connections.

A highlight of the tour is a visit to Mount Clarence and the Desert Corps Memorial, where sweeping views extend across Princess Royal Harbour and King George Sound.

The National Anzac Centre is dedicated to honouring the Anzacs of the First World War. Set within Albany Heritage Park, the centre offers a deeply personal connection to the Anzac story through interactive multimedia displays, unique artefacts, rare images, film and audio commentary.

Continue north towards Hyden and Wave Rock, visiting Bluff Knoll in the Stirling Range along the way for spectacular views across the northern plains.

Visit the Pingrup grain silo art on Jolly Road, featuring three towering 25-metre-high grain silos painted in 2018 by Miami-based street artist Evoca1 as part of FORM’s PUBLIC Silo Trail. The murals honour the strength, stories and spirit of the local rural community.

The first silo depicts a horse and jockey, paying tribute to the famous annual Pingrup Races.

The second silo features a local farmer holding a Merino lamb, representing the region’s strong sheep-farming heritage.

The third silo shows a loyal farm dog, a kelpie, sitting on a tractor modelled after a vintage tractor found in the town.

Continue to Lake Grace, spotting salt lakes along the way that form part of an ancient river system, before arriving in Hyden for our overnight stay.

DAY 7– 

WAVE ROCK TO PERTH 

Wave Rock, Hippo’s Yawn, Mulka’s Cave, Gnamma Holes, York, Perth 

Geologists believe Wave Rock was sculpted and coloured by natural chemical processes over 2,700 million years ago, creating its remarkable wave-like form. Rising 15 metres above the ground and stretching 110 metres in length, it appears like a giant wave frozen in stone. Climb to the top of the Hyden rock formation and enjoy expansive views across the surrounding landscape.

After visiting Wave Rock, continue to Mulka’s Cave, home to one of the largest collections of Aboriginal hand stencils in southern Western Australia.

On the return journey to Perth, visit Corrigin to see the Agricultural Show Mural, which captures the spirit of a community united by its shared passion for agriculture and its commitment to preserving local heritage for future generations.

See the Spirit of Corrigin Windmill, a collaboration between the Corrigin Police Station and the local community, along with another much-loved community tribute, the renowned Corrigin Dog Cemetery.

Return to Perth at approximately 6.00 pm.
