Hi Karen,

We're glad you embraced the hands-on camping experience and that the trip lived up to its bucket-list status. Thank you for travelling with Kapalga Travel and for recommending us to future travellers.

Our group of 12 travellers set up and packed down tents every day, helped cook meals, washed up, collected firewood, and worked together like a well-oiled (and very happy) team. What could have felt like chores actually turned into great fun and a fantastic way to bond with fellow travellers from all over the world.
Our guide and driver, Dan, was outstanding. He brought a brilliant sense of humour to every day, while showing immense respect and deep knowledge of the land, Indigenous culture, and the local plants and wildlife. His passion was infectious and made every remote location we visited even more meaningful.
We travelled to some truly stunning and off-the-beaten-path places that very few people get to experience. The landscapes were breathtaking, and the sense of adventure was real. By the end of the trip, we all had sad faces as we said goodbye — it genuinely felt like we were leaving a little family behind.
A few of us are already planning our next trip with Kapalga Travel. If you’re after an authentic, immersive, small-group camping experience in northern Australia rather than a luxury coach tour, I cannot recommend Kapalga highly enough.
Thank you Dan and the whole Kapalga team — you’ve created something very special.
Highly recommended!

Niall, our guide, was passionate and knowledgeable about all aspects of the Kimberleys. Through his infectious enthusiasm and humour, Niall brought the best out in everyone and helped us to experience the Kimberleys on a deeper level. A master chef on gas ring and camp oven, Niall created great meals each night, with lots of help from everyone, the ingredients always fresh and good quality. Sunsets, moon rises and stars, while sitting around a camp fire, heaven! Thankyou Nialll, thankyou Kapalga. Bring on Broome to Perth in 26 with Niall of course.

Seriously amazing experience! From the minute I got picked up on the first day I knew Niall was going to be exactly the leader/guide I was hoping for. Very chilled and relaxed with a great sense of humour and excellent knowledge about everywhere we went. I was really impressed with his indigenous knowledge, something I was really hoping for. We quickly became a solid team, Niall had a great way of sharing all of the day to day things that needed to be done without ever telling anyone they had to do something. We were always rewarded for getting up early and on the road, Niall would squeeze in a little something extra, or make it so we had spectacular places all to ourselves. This experience will stay with me forever, it was everything I wanted and ten times more.

5 stars! Highly recommended and a fantastic experience!! The country, the weather, the sights and best of all our guide Niall. This 9 day tour from Darwin to Broome in a fully air conditioned bus tailored for the conditions is rustic and outright fun. If you love sleeping under the stars, cooking over a fire, walking and swimming every day. This is for you. Kimberley Off-road adventures make you feel like you’re one of the family. This was the adventure we didn’t know we needed in our lives. I’m already looking at what other routes they have to book another one in the future. Happy days :)

The 9 Day Broome to Darwin trip has been the most invigorating experience I’ve been part of. Our guide Niall was brilliant and full of so much knowledge about the area that it has left me personally changed knowing so much more about the area, its history and this country.
The days and night flowed beautifully and if camping under the stars is your thing I couldn’t recommended it more. If getting involved with cooking, camping, swimming and relaxing in a fully A/C bus is you then jump on board.
We’ll be looking forward to another trip with Kimberly Off Road Adventure Tours as soon as we have the opportunity.

There was so much to see and do whilst travelling in a well equipped four wheel drive truck that can access so many amazing places.
With the vehicle holding only 16 passengers the group got to know each other and is a great size to be able to enjoy other like minded peoples company.
Setting up and breaking camp was seamless as Martin, our tour guide is an "old hand" at knowing his stuff and ensures everything runs smoothly whilst making sure we get as much as possible packed into each day.
His knowledge of astrology and the lands we travelled over was very informative.
The food was plentiful and very enjoyable with our snacks always being refilled.
Each day we witnessed so many different things that added to the adventure and saw how the people of this area have looked after it for thousands of years, amazing!!
If you are a lover of unique experiences where tourists rarely go this trip is definitely a bucket list experience.
Thankyou Kapalga for another great trip.

It was a holiday that did it all! Amazing scenery from beginning to end. All landscapes were of epic proportions and made so much more magical to with the music onboard. Non-stop waterfalls, swims, scenic hikes, sunsets and insta vibes. It was the best way to see the Kimberly and experience the Gibb without any of the planning and responsibilities of navigating.
The itinerary was well planned to have locations to ourselves. Spiritual moments were felt at sunrise at the Bungles and on Lake Argyle, with a morning swim to follow. We still had the glam of dining at El Questro and scones at Ellenbrae Station with every natural attraction along the way! It was a comfortable outback experience with swags, tents and campfires. Amazing food like: Roast Lam and Veg, Chicken Pesto Pasta, Silverside, Chicken Curry, Kangaroo, Spaghetti bolognaise, Mexican Beef wraps and nachos. Always with plenty of vegetables and sides. Lunches were sandwiches, wraps or sausage sizzles and snacks/fruit were on hand. This tour is a hands-on experience coordinated and facilitated by the best in the business. Martin kept us all entertained and informed throughout the tour. He provided options for hikes and different abilities to get the most out of each location. This guy is gold!
My Fav: Swimming in a new location each day, the warm weather and epic sunrises!
Husband: Campfire food, Lake Argyle camping/cruise & helicopter at the bungles.

Hi - Thank you so much for leaving this review. We're thrilled to hear Niall was able to show you the Kimberley region in such a fun way! I certainly second your comment regarding the warm sleeping bag, it's surprising how chilly the nights can get! The bush camps are very special especially when you sleep out under the stars. Thanks again and we hope we might be able to take you on more adventures... Adam and Lucy

7 months later... still thinking about this incredible experience every single day! My partner and I travelled between Darwin to Broome with our guide Adam and a group of 17 (including ourselves). Our guide and driver Adam was so welcoming, kind, generous, attentive, respectful and knowledgeable. This is the adventure of a life-time. Thank you Adam and thanks Kimberley Off-Road Adventure Tours for allowing us to live such an extraordinary experience.

The 7 day Kakadu National Park & Arnhem Land tour was a great adventure. Adam, our action man tour guide, was great at imparting his immense knowledge on bush tucker and wildlife, whilst taking us to beautiful and remote destinations each day. It was sometimes rough and rugged but that just added to the thrills. It's the experience I wanted and will never forget. Thanks Adam and Lucy.
