What to Expect on Your Adventure
While beginner-friendly, this is a rewarding physical challenge. You will spend several hours active in the water and traversing slippery, uneven terrain, concluding with a steep uphill hike. To fully enjoy this experience, you should have good general fitness, full mobility, be able to swim, and feel comfortable in deep water.
Trip Details and Requirements
- Difficulty: Adventurous beginner
- Experience: No prior experience required
- Minimum Age: 13+
- What’s Involved: Abseils up to 25 metres, swimming, scrambling, optional jumps, slides, and a zip-line
- Fitness Requirements: Good general fitness, full mobility, and ability to swim. The exit walk takes about an hour, including a steep 150-metre elevation gain in the first 20 minutes.
- Duration: 7 to 8 hours total (with 4 to 5 hours active in the canyon)
- Group Limit: Maximum of 10 participants for a personalised experience
- Meeting Location: Coramba (Coffs Harbour transfers can be arranged)

Important Considerations
Canyoning is a committing outdoor activity. Once we begin, exiting early may not be possible. Adventurous activities are physically demanding, and you should expect to feel wet, cold, tired, or excited. Please ensure all members of your group review these requirements before booking.

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:
You will receive a digital Medical form/Waiver form to be completed individually by each participant prior to arrival.
Participants under 18 years of age must have their form(s) completed prior to the activity by a parent or legal guardian.
MEETING LOCATION
Unless specified otherwise, the default meeting location for this activity is at the Coramba CWA Park. Please find a suitable park in the street and come prepared with what is needed for the day. After using the toilets and checking in we will depart on a 45 minute drive to the canyon.
Late arrival will result in your tour commencing without you. Aim to arrive 10-15 minutes early, particularly if travelling from afar.
DIETARY REQUIREMENTS
Lunch and snacks are provided as part of your trip. If you have any allergies, intolerances or special dietary requirements, please let us know before your trip so we can make suitable arrangements.
WHAT TO BRING FOR CANYONING
- Wear active/sports/hiking clothes. (Dress appropriately for the weather – please check the forecast beforehand).
- Cold weather: warm layers such as fleece or warm jacket, thermal undershirt and long pants.
- Enclosed running shoes, joggers or trainers – a pair you are happy to get wet. Boots are acceptable but not ideal.
- DO NOT WEAR sandals, open footwear or soft-soled reef shoes – these are not permitted.
- Swimming attire (wear under clothes)
- 1 litre of water (more in hot weather)
- Waterproof Camera (Optional – must float/be attached securely to your body)
- Personal medication if required
Any extra snacks you would like to bring
GLASSES AND CONTACT LENSES
Contact lenses are generally the best option for canyoning. Bring a spare pair as well.
Glasses can be worn, however they should be securely fitted with a sports strap and are worn at your own risk. There may be some sections of the canyon where your guide recommends removing them. If you wear glasses, please bring a hard protective case so they can be safely stored if they need to be removed.
Canyoning backpacks, wetsuits, harnesses and helmets will be provided. The clothes you hike to the start in can be placed inside dry bags to stay dry while you descend the canyon. Lunch and snacks will be provided and carried into the canyon inside a waterproof container.
Leave the following behind in your car or the Coffs Canyons vehicle for after the tour:
- Change of clothes
- Change of footwear
These are for your comfort after the tour.
Please leave valuables at home as we cannot guarantee their safety, especially easily lost or fragile items such as jewellery and non-waterproof electronics.
You are responsible for any personal items you choose to bring into the canyon. Items taken into the canyon are exposed to water and impact and may be lost or damaged.
