Wow! What a wonderful time we had with our amazing tour guide Graham! He brought a wealth of knowledge about the Island and it was so fun meeting people from all over the world! Despite it being rainy on our second day, our tour guide was able to adapt / change the schedule in order to still have a fun and engaging day.

We had the best time out on K’gari for 2 days with our tour guide Graham and driving our pink jeeps on this beautiful sand island.
The tour was great fun with trips to beaches creeks and lakes, saw dingos and whales along with a wealth of knowledge shared by Graham.
We were well looked after at the beach house and Linda cooked fabulous food suiting everyone’s needs.
Loved this whole experience. If you are not sure, just do it!

Bob is the GOAT – hands down the best tour guide ever!
We did the 2-day, 1-night tour and we are now part of the Pink Pony Club! The weather was perfect, blue skies over Eli Creek, the beach, and the Maheno Shipwreck. Day two we headed on a trek through the rainforest, a visit to Central Station, and stops at two stunning lakes, including the breathtaking Lake McKenzie.
We saw dingos—but don’t worry, Bob had us armed with the mighty dingo stick! We were well fed and watered throughout, and the accommodation was amazing—comfortable, clean, and a great place to unwind, way nicer than anything we expected on a remote island. During the evening, we stargazed and saw the Milky Way stretching over K’gari which was absolutely surreal.
Bob brought the perfect mix of chilled energy and good humour—always up for a laugh, with great stories and banter. You could honestly mistake him for an honorary Irishman! He kept the vibes high, answered every question with genuine enthusiasm, and made the whole trip feel effortless and fun.
The cherry on top was the peaceful sunset boat ride back to Hervey Bay—a stunning end to an incredible adventure. Do this tour for Bob himself—never mind the island. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

My girlfriend and I did the 3 day tour. Our guide Arty was THE MOST laid back and knowledgable guy we have met. He knew everything about the history and facts of Australia and everything to do with wildlife and vegetation on the island. Answered every and all questions with ease and a good twist of humour that suits anyone.
I cannot say enough good things about Arty. Truly blessed to of had him as our guide.

Amazing trip!
Fraser/K'gari Island is an astonishing place and Ash from Fraser Dingo is the guide you want when you go there. He is knowledgeable about the nature, animals, history and myths of the island. He obviously cares for the island as if it was his own. Experiencing rainforest growing on sand dunes, driving on the beach, small hikes in the woods and bathing in crystal clear lakes made it all worthwhile. The surprising (unadvertised) highlight of the trip: We visited in July and were able to spot whales right from the beach, just 100 meters out.
On the beach, we managed to get on a short 20 minute (paid) plane trip with the most beautiful views of the island - and even the whales too. While it is an 'extra', I would recommend it any day as the price was definitely affordable (80 AUD).
Ash and his pleasent crew catered for the group with lunch and dinner in their house near the beach. We walked to see the beautiful sunrise early in the morning on our own carrying the provided Dingo sticks, just in case. While we saw lots of Dingos, none approached us at any time.
The group size was good allowing the guide to be there for the group as a whole but also individuals.
The trip was a part of a longer trip on the Australian East coast and certainly made it as one of - if not the - overall favourite on the trip. I would definitely recommend the trip.

As we navigate through life, we do our best to avoid individuals or businesses that are generally horrible to deal with. We do our best to avoid any engagement with bad faith acting entities . but sometimes even those of us most alert to these corrupt operators unwittingly become entangled in their web of deceit, nastiness . and yes fraud. Sadly, amongst many others it seems, I too was ensnarled in the Fraser Dingo scam business model.
In my excitement and enthusiasm for my trip to K’gari with my 2 sons I didn’t pay particular attention to the manner in which the safety briefer (who I later came to know as the FRASER DINGO 4WD business owner – Ash, as he calls himself) conducted himself with me as his customer. At this stage of our engagement, his manner just registered as “a little off” a dude with of a bit of a bad vibe, if you will. Then there was the moment when I witnessed this same man berate one of his subordinates sweeping the floor of the business. A big red flag went up there “this guy is not very nice”, I thought to myself .. but hey . big picture .. I’m off to K’Gari with my lads so all is well in the world! Adventure Awaits! And it was .. until the car they gave us broke down within 2 hours of collection (it had more than 400,000 kms on the odometer) and was clearly not road worthy, let alone off-road worthy. On calling Fraser Dingo 4WD for assistance we received nothing but hyper aggression, rudeness, defensiveness, general bad faith acting and ultimately attempted financial fraud.
LET THIS BE A CLEAR WARNING TO ANYONE CONSIDERING ENGAGING FRASER DINGO 4WD: AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS because if you don’t (and I hope the irony is not lost here) IT WILL COST YOU DEARLTY!
FRASER DINGO 4WD have scamming baked into their business model and will attempt to take as much of your vehicle bond money using any pretext they think they can get away with.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
K’gari is an incredible place to visit and offers amazing experiences for all willing to venture to this special wilderness. Don’t let that amazing experience be ruined by dealing with horrible people running a scam business.
You’re welcome.

An incredible experience! Definitely one of the highlights of our travels along the east coast. We did a 2 day tour. It was a lot of fun getting to drive the vehicles around such a picturesque, one of a kind island and getting a glimpse at some of the native wildlife. Arty is a true Aussie and an excellent guide who is clearly very passionate about the island and the cultural and historical significance of all the landmarks/destinations we visited along the way. The volunteers at the accommodation were also very helpful and welcoming.

Highly recommended. Four of us are just back from doing the 3 day tag along tour and we had the BEST time. It was organised, professional and really good fun. The cars are easy to drive, big enough for 7 and the accommodation well thought out and much better than we were expecting! Plenty of food and snacks too.
The trips were all to stunning and interesting places. Special thanks to Arti for a really great overview of the island and for being a great host. All of us would go again in a heartbeat.

What an incredible two days.
Arty (Party without the P) was our guide, and our experience on beautiful K'gari wouldn't have been the same without him, his guidance, knowledge and stories.
We got to experience a small part of the island with someone who clearly is passionate about nature, culture and history.
The volunteers at the house were lovely, and everyone always made sure we were okay.

We did the 2 day 1 night tour with tour guide Graham. The trip was amazing and the driving was really cool - the spots we were taken to were all very worth doing and they packed a lot into the 2 days!
Unfortunately the water wasn’t working for most of our stay there, I think there was an issue with the filter but even so, it meant a lot of us couldn’t fill water bottles up, shower, or flush the toilet which really wasn’t great - considering what we’d paid to be there and a bottle of water at the shop was $8!!!
Our guide was very knowledgeable, however, he could’ve been friendlier. He seemed to get frustrated with people making small mistakes (mostly when it came to driving), maybe he forgot it was all our first time visiting and driving on the island. He also brought up some very strong views on topics like the covid vaccine etc which was really unprofessional. It made a few of us feel uncomfortable. The food was okay but perhaps could’ve been a little better. Accommodation was nice enough and the rooms got cool-ish in the evenings.
Overall I enjoyed the trip but the water and tour guide sadly had a bit of an impact on the whole experience. I’m hoping this isn’t the case for all their trips.

The main reason we would never do this tour again was the vehicle not being fit for overnight camping. We got 2 hours of sleep max, due to the heat, lack of ventilation and overall inadequate sleeping conditions. Not having AC or being able to open the windows in the night due to flies made it completely insufferable during the night. We were both excited to camp overnight and other vehicles on the campsite were equipment to facilitate this, but you could tell the car hadn’t been thought out well enough. We had no GPS, Radio or AC so it felt like extortionate car hire rather than a fit for purpose overnight van hire.
This review isn’t to put you off using the company, as I’m sure the group tour is great and doesn’t face the same issues, but I would have loved to seen a review on this prior to booking.

Arty our awesome tour guide sprung into action and got another car out to the island in half a day. We had such an amazing time on our 3day tour. Arty was an absolutely incredible guide, we so valued all the extra information he gave us about the island and its history.
We visited all the main stops - everywhere was stunning. The group were all great too.
Overall a great experience and I could see many benefits over the other tours we saw around (no camping, smaller group, very knowledgable and fun guide)
Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a K’gari tour

Did this tour 2 weeks ago. It was hands down the best tour I've ever been on. And it was made so special because of our incredible tour guide Arty. I would go on this tour just for him. On-top of being a great tour guide he was great fun too and we were often laughing out loud with him. 10/10 I would recommend this tour with Arty.

Cons:
- The company have a passive aggressive attitude and threaten (both in briefing and through stickers in vehicle) about total loss of bond ($2000!) if you drive through even a tiny bit of salt water. It’s a beach so impossible to avoid salt water entirely . for starters other vehicles often force you across or splash you. This made us worried about losing our money for the whole 3 days and ruined our experience.
- Claimed to be all inclusive but charged extra for essential items (a lamp- actually impossible to car camp without one), sleeping bags, traction boards (essential for driving in the beach, every other car had them)
- Charges you $60 for cleaning the vehicle after, we’ve never come across a hire car company that does this.
- Describes a ‘Luxury’ package - provides you with less than the bare essentials and the equipment provided is cheap and nasty. The pillows are microscopic.
- They have disabled the air con in the vehicle to save money - advertising their vehicles as eco friendly. The vehicles have V8’s and get about 10mpg there’s nothing eco friendly about them.
- The radio was disabled and the charger port didn’t work.
- No awning or rain proof equipment so when it rains, you have to sit in the car making the camping utterly miserable.
- The waiver we were forced to sign required us to circle any existing damage in the vehicle. When we noted damage and went to circle it we were immediately told not to circle anything and ‘it will be fine’. Very dodgy.
Pros:
- Detailed info given before trip, proved useful.
- Flexible about doing the briefing the day before and helped us to change barge times at last minute
- Detailed itinerary removed need for extra planning and squeezed a lot in.
- Car was pink and made for a good picture

A truly bucket list experience, we did the 3 day tour and stopped in a group in the companies own building on the island. The tour guide scott was clearly passionate about his role, loved nature, conservation and loved the island. Scott was both a good laugh and informative on all nature subjects.
Driving both on the beaches and inland is so much fun, we were even lucky enough to have planes landing and taking off as we drove down the beach!
Every place had its beauty and charm
Can’t wait to go back and take friends :)

READ THE OTHER REVIEWS RELATING TO ASHLEYS DISGRACEFUL AND ABUSIVE BEHAVIOUR.
Fraser Island was a place that my partner and I had wanted to explore for a long time. Dealing with Kylie and Jane via phone and email was a pleasure, but unfortunately upon our arrival things were set to change.
Ashley was to do our safety briefing and we have never been belittled, insulted or unnecessarily abused by anyone like that before in our travels in Australia or around the world.
He tried to pressured us into signing incomplete paperwork, constantly and rudely shut us down if we asked any questions or tried to have any input into the dictated itinerary.
He constantly ranted about how we would easily wreck the vehicle to violate the contract or loose our $2000 bond. STICK TO THE ITINERARY was his favourite saying. I’ve got 20 years of tour experience and been going to Fraser for 40 years I’ve sent 4000 people to Fraser tours. Well done mate, maybe spend some more time working on your social skills. Not everyone except you is a complete idiot.
When it came time for us to inspect the vehicle to cover ourselves, we were basically pushed out of the door with eyes rolling and sarcastic remarks from Ashley.
It was a horrible experience so much so that we emailed Jane and Kylie to ask if we could avoid Ash on vehicle pickup the next day.
When we arrived the next day I again got abused by Ashley for attempting to inspect under the bonnet. If we are liable for damages (water in fluids etc) damages and the general condition of the car on return, why can’t we inspect it before leaving?
Perhaps because the car was filthy underneath the bonnet and the body already covered in sand.
I took some photos and sent them the Jane and Kylie before and after the hire to cover myself.
We acknowledge it’s a risky business on Fraser dingos part to rent 4wd’s but as far as liability goes it’s all in their favour.
Ashley on this occasion (vehicle pickup) became aggressive and abusive to the point where I had to walk off he continued to abuse me as I walked across the street.
It was very upsetting for us both and the first day of our trip was ruined by it the rest of the trip we struggled to enjoy the driving incase we did accidentally damage the car and what abuse would be a result of that.
Ashley told us that there was no need to check the vehicles as the Fraser Dingo mechanics had 40 years experience.
Not surprisingly there was a clunking/knocking noise from the front every time we hit a bump in our car ‘Ringo’. Sounded like something was loose or completely worn out.
The demist function didn’t work on the windscreen so we struggled to see where we were going at times.
The passengers side seat belt would not retract so the vehicle clearly would not pass a roadworthy test.
Other than this the car went well.
It seems Ashley is a big fish in a small pond constantly telling us how much experience he had whilst belittling us at every opportunity.
He has obviously built up a feeling of power when he’s treated like a god by young foreign tourists who have no off road experience, or knowledge of semi remote places.
Fraser is an amazing place and we hope to revisit again under more pleasurable circumstances.
In the meantime let’s hope that Fraser Dingo find someone with some people skills to deal with the safety briefing. Maybe a jail warden or a career that involves bullying would be better suited for Ashley.
Anyway I’m sure Fraser Dingo will come back with some arguments to attempt to justify their actions.
I think there’s enough evidence in reviews to confirm our dealings are not a once off.
Once again thanks to Kylie and Jane you guys were amazing to deal with

We loved our Pink Betty, thanks guys n girls for an amazing day. When we booked this we did think we would just pick up the car drive on the island and beach. How nieve we were.
DONT book this unless you are a confident driver.
We hired a car for a 1 day experience, had to arrive at The collection point for 6:30am for a briefing and our route including tide times which had all been pre planned for us.
This briefing has to be taken seriously, once all sorted we headed off to the barge for 8:30am crossing. Had to reverse on this.
50 min crossing off the other end, about a mile road driving then it's 4x4 mode.
This is then soft sand single track driving, be prepared to stop and pull in. Make sure you adhere to the times given, it will make your day an enjoyable one, time keeping is key.
We did spend an hour at Lake McKenzie then followed the route and times given and got back at 4:30pm in time to get on the 5pm barge which then gave us an amazing sunset home.
Defo pay extra for the dingo clean. We paid an extra $40 for the sand things. Probably worth it although we never used them.
Take the dingos seriously, we read in the news later the day we were there someone got chased towards the sea.
I won't say anymore as dont want to spoil an amazing day.

We were fortunate to have a good group of people on the tour which helped make it a great two days.
The only criticism I would have is the couple that were looking after the house where we stayed. The house itself was great with good facilities but I got the impression it was the first time this couple had looked after a house like this. It was the little things like getting food or drinks while the guests waited that was a little irritating. A lovely couple - just a little inexperienced in looking after guests in a house like that.
You had the choice to drive the 4WD or not - totally up to the individual. Mitch checked in with everyone to make sure that if they wanted to drive they had the opportunity to so that no one dominated all the driving. If you didn't wanted to drive then that was ok too. Definitely recommend driving. I didn't think I would want to but did and was so glad that I did - it was so much fun.
The different spots we visited on the island were really good. Swimming in Lake McKenzie - a definite highlight as well as the walk to the sand dunes. You definitely need to be a bit fit as the walk to the sand dunes was just under 5km in total round trip and mostly uphill - but well worth the effort.
We saw dingos on the island and had the dingo danger talk prior to leaving. I definitely felt that if you left them alone they would leave you alone - but definitely dangerous if you got too close. I felt safe the whole time.
All meals are provided. You only have to take snacks if you want them. We took chips etc to have with drinks later in the afternoon and after dinner. They provided chilli bins to chill drinks. You are able to take alcoholic drinks with you to the island to drink at the house - which was good and a good way to socialise with others in your tour group.
Definitely recommend this company and this tour.
We arrived as 18 strangers and left with 18 friends from all over the world which was fantastic.

We did the 3 day tag along tour with Scott and we had a great time! Really nice way to meet some cool people. The tour itself was well organised, just follow the guide and enjoy your time on the island. Enough time to relax in between activities. The accomodation was tidy and clean, the food was fresh and nutritious. Everything considered good value for what your paying, would highly recommend this trip.

We couldn’t have chosen a better tour. We had a wonderful weekend in K’gari Fraser Island thanks to them. Arti, the guide is the kind of guide you wish to have, he provided plenty of interesting explanations about the island and bachelor people. He was one of the main reasons for the experience to be that awesome.
Also, I have to say the volunteers working in the accommodation were very good, they were always cheerful and happy to help!
I feel grateful for the group of people we were there, it feels that we have known each other for years.
Highly recommend this tour. ????????????✨

AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS. By far the WORST after-booking experience I’ve ever faced.
We had a 2 days booking together with both my parents with unfortunately heavy rainfall during the night which led to many deep holes filled with muddy water along the main track. So far it’s just bad luck. But being accused irresponsible and charged another $550 because we returned the vehicle with an extra 44kms and mud splash is HIGHLY ABUSIVE.
Above all when I’ve informed the company on the exact same day (with pictures as proof) about the fact that, as non-experienced drivers but very careful and concerned about returning the car in one piece, we made our best all day long by avoiding getting into these muddy holes. Their answer is simple: “sorry, we’ve been on holidays this day, we haven’t seen your message”. Who the hell provides such a bad customer service?
Of course, it’s impossible reaching them out through phone. They barely answer by e-mail and kept saying “There will be no further discussion”.
What a different taste versus the guy who made the (really too long) briefing pushing all the add-ons they have. So first quote was $800, went up to $1000 with the highly recommended add-ons, ended up at more than $1500 after abusive treatment + false accusations (no, sorry Jane, we were not a bunch of young guys celebrating a bachelor party). Of course they decide the amount they charge you on top, no details, no way for you to discuss it, it could be anything, correct or not, pay, that’s all. And before you provide any answer: yes we’ve read your terms and conditions, and nowhere it’s mentioned that you guys provide such a bad customer treatment.
I’ve never had to write such a long review before, but this company is by far the worst on the market and deserve that I’m wasting 15min of my time to warn the others.

2. I hope you love sandwichs because you will eat it every lunch
3. Communication with the guide is not always good
4. Things can be done on 2 days because some afternoon we stoped the day around 2:30pm

We did a 2day tag along tour. The tour was great! A good mix of people in the group from under 20 to over 40. Dylan was a great guide, giving good instruction while driving more difficult sections. Accommodation was simple but absolutely sufficient and right next to the beach. The highlight was getting to spend a couple of hours for floating down Eli Creek. Great tour! Loved it.
