My husband and I had an absolutely fantastic time on the Star of Greece shipwreck snorkel with EMS on Sunday! The experience was incredibly well organised, and the guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about marine life. Swimming alongside schools of fish and exploring the remnants of the historic shipwreck was truly mesmerising. A must-do for anyone who loves the ocean and our Great Southern Reef - highly recommended!

Dedicated Team. Absolutely enjoyed our snorkelling experience even though we did not sight any sea dragons. The team were organised and all worked seamlessly well together. Equipment was good quality and had enough sizes for different builds. Beginners were well looked after without holding back the group. Happy and good vibes. Thank you.

Snorkeling at Hallett Cove Beach - A Fantastic Experience!

I’ve always been curious about snorkeling at Hallett Cove Beach since moving here—wondering how to safely swim out, what lies beneath the surface, and where the best spots are. These guys not only made it possible but went above and beyond to answer all my questions and more.

The team was incredibly knowledgeable and provided clear guidance to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Once in the water, I was amazed by the vibrant marine life and stunning underwater scenery. It’s such a unique way to explore and connect with the natural beauty of this area.

A huge thank you for making my first snorkeling adventure here so memorable! Highly recommend to anyone who’s curious about what’s beneath the waves at Hallett Cove.

Snorkelling with Cuttlefish at Whyalla. Excellent guides: knowledgeable, accommodating, friendly. Good gear considering the water temperature in July. Had to reschedule due to weather which was possible and easy. Will definitely do another EMS activity in the future. Oh, and the cuttlefish were great to see, considering that realistically it's better to observe from a respectful distance.

Highly recommended - seeing the cuttlefish up close was amazing. The staff at EMS were really helpful, especially as we were booked into a Saturday session but the sea was too rough and they were great at fitting us into the following Sunday morning session. Very much appreciated after a long drive there (and back) just to see the cuttlefish. They were very well organised and knowledgeable. My only suggestion is to use your own wetsuit if you have a suitable one - mine fit fine, but my wife and daughter's were a bit more difficult - clearly most wetsuits are designed for men!!

I am a 66 yo local Whyalla female. I can't believe I haven't done this before. From registering to finish all staff were very helpful The dive was amazing, I will be doing this every year from now on. Next time I will be bringing a camera

Avoid the guided tour at all costs. Very disappointing experience, no structure to anything, lots of waiting and listening to someone read fun facts on a sheet of paper whilst you’re sitting on a rock in gear soaking wet from the previous person, desperate to just check the cuttlefish out like what you paid for.. the guides are desperate to pull you away from anything enjoyable in the name of health and safety, which totally ruins the experience. All that aside the cuttlefish are awesome to check out and next time we’ll just hire the gear.

The cuttlefish were amazing everything else was not.. Very disappointed in the tour, after paying $240 for 2 of us and to spend most of the time outside of the water and to have the information read off a sheet of paper was not the greatest start. I felt like they did not take into consideration the level of snorkelling ability I wrote down and felt the whole process was disjointed and run by people that had no idea what was going on and were constantly trying to enforce silly rules. If you are wanting to snorkel with the cuttlefish I would highly suggest hiring your own gear and doing it on your own.

We did the planetarium in mawson lakes, was a great little adventure for our 7 year old and the staff were so good with her and her sensory behaviour. So friendly and nice. Will be back next year

We had a great snorkelling experience with EMS. All the volunteers are very friendly and helpful. Carl is quite considerate and experienced.

Im so glad I did a Snorkeling Lesson with EMS - me and 2 young children. All the skills and safety routines were covered clearly and thoroughly. Now we know about the buddy system, how to communicate under water and how to help eachother if something goes wrong. The trainers are friendly and looked after us so well! We had a lot of fun (the kids did not want to leave) One hour well spent. I thoroughly recommend the EMS Snorkeling Lesson.

What an intimate experience with hundreds of Cuttlefish so close to shore. They are so gentle, beautifully coloured and a real pleasure to observe. I've done a lot of snorkeling and this one afternoon went past my expectations within the first minute of sliding into the water. Don't be concerned about the temperature, the wetsuits are excellent. Yesterday was a perfect example of what you can experience in any weather. I highly recommend this group, they provided a safe way to explore a real special event.

Cuttlefish snorkel Stony Point 24/06/2023 and amazing experience. Excellent guide Karl and the whole team (just can't remember all their names) who were helpful, informative and made the whole experience fantastic for myself and my 13 year old who loved it and wants to go again. What an amazing experience snorkeling with the cuttlefish at Stony point. They were not scared of us humans and kept on doing their own thing. Yes the water was cold! We were provided with well fitted wetsuits gloves boots and hoods mask and snorkel, and fins, we appreciated the time the volunteers spent making sure we would be well protected and comfortable in the water. Our guide was informative and showed us plenty of cuttlefish action. They are beautiful creatures in an amazing environment. Thank you

Had such a great time. Was a little concerned about getting in the ocean in the middle of winter but the wetsuits were incredible and I didn’t feel cold once. The cuttlefish were beautiful and majestic and only metres from the shore. Staff were friendly and engaging. I was offered prescription goggles too.

An Experience of a Lifetime. Snorkelling with the world-famous whyalla cuttlefish was a moment of supreme enjoyment. Watching, from above, their interactions and colour displays, was a profound experience unlike any other that I have enjoyed when scuba diving.

If you get a chance, these guys run great programmes. Check their website .Went to a " science in the pub " night and loved it !

If it was just about the Cuttlefish it would be 5 stars they were great! But unfortunately our group had a pretty disappointing time with the organisation of the tour itself, most of the time was spent getting into wetsuits which was stressful as we had no one guide for this process. We didn’t really learn too much about the Cuttlefish themselves from the guides and especially what EMS does. Purchasing the guided tour we thought it would be a total experience but it felt disjointed to say the least.

Wonderful morning, great organisation We joined EMS to dive with cuttlefish at Whyalla. The experience was excellent. There was a terrific team of mostly volunteers. High standard of equipment was provided, including excellent wetsuit, hood and boots. We were unlucky that weather meant we were using the less preferred location. However we saw plenty of cuttlefish. The guide was friendly, helpful and knowledgable. The cuttlefish are wonderful creatures, we also saw the largest porcupine fish. It's an easy snorkel, would be no problem for beginners, as more experienced snorklers we are sure to return in future seasons for ourselves. The water is reputedly cold - I have done much colder! The equipment looks after you. Some in our group were cold at finish, I was doing fine. Highly recommended, a great way to spend money to support nature experiences.

Experiencing marine Santuaries were running a snorkelling session at Ewens Ponds Near Mt Gambier.
Being a solo traveller I booked online for a one hour session. The booking included wetsuit goggles and fin hire. The staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgable.
Made you feel completely at ease. They explained the layout of the ponds and the time it would take to complete our circuit. It was a fabulous swim. Crystal clear water and completely relaxing. You could see the fish swimming on the bottom of the ponds. The water was freezing (for me) but the wetsuit was toasty warm. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks everyone. Had a great time.

My 16 year old son did the Hallett Cove Reef tour on Sunday and absolutely LOVED IT !!! I just wanted to say that I was thoroughly impressed with the whole thing, the people were so kind and helpful and understanding and just made him feel so welcome and us too ????

This was my first time snorkeling and I was unsure of what to expect. My instructors Alia and Carolyn were very calm and thorough. I felt very much at ease and soon was able to snorkle with some confidence. I highly recommend EMS to everyone of all ages.

Had an excellent time snorkelling at Noarlunga, got within a few metres of some port jackson sharks, our guide was great and we felt very welcomed.

My husband and I attended the EMS event Snorkel Classes for Beginners, all Ages and Abilities. We are both 55+years and have done a little snorkeling before but wanted to learn more so that we could confidently join sessions that EMS run in the ocean. Carl and his team of volunteers were welcoming and supportive and took us through the basics then built of the knowledge and skills we had. We had our own gear but EMS supply everything if you don't have snorkeling gear or a wetsuit. We thoroughly enjoyed the session and came away with greater experience and knowledge and are now booked with EMS to go snorkeling with Eagle rays later in Oct. Thanks to Lyndon, Alia and Carl. Highly recommended if you would like to learn more about snorkeling and our SA marine life.

Swim with giant cuttlefish just do it We did this yesterday morning and couldn’t have been happier. Once suited up in 3 layers plus gloves, boots and fins, with expert assistance from Manuel and Victoria headed into the water where we swam above and around these most elegant and graceful creatures. Also saw sea urchin, ray, fish dolphins and seals. If you have the chance and are able do the guided trip - only 6 people - information given and help to get started was above and beyond.

Snorkelling in Marine sanctuaries in South Australia with Experiencing Marine Sanctuaries I have been on several Marine Sanctuary snorkels over the last couple of years now. They are FANTASTIC! The wildlife is always spectacular, they are extremely well run by very passionate ,competent staff and safety of participants is always paramount. They cater for the very young through to much older people. Great fun and highly recommended.
