Food lovers are invited to tour South Australia’s culinary icon established in 1869, the Adelaide Central Market. Tours are designed by one of the states noted food experts, Mark Gleeson. With over 30 years experience in the food tourism and hospitality industries, Gleeson’s knowledge of South Australia’s finest produce market is second to none.
Start your day with a the best market espresso, brewed tea or thick-n-rich hot chocolate. Watch the market open up over a full hot and healthy breakfast.
During the Adelaide Central Market Tour, taste a delicious selection of foods from South Australian artisan food producers, meet the suppliers, Stallholders and producers whose families have traded the Market for generations.
This small group tour is hosted by local guides and is serious fun for those with a passion for great food, and the people who grow and supply it to our tables.
We allow 1 hour for breakfast before a 90min tour – total duration approx 2.5hrs.
If minimum numbers are not met we will contact you to rearrange the booking.
The tour will begin at 8.30am from SiSea in the NW corner of the Market
The tour includes

Well worth the look, you get samples, exercise and some insight to some wonderful history and beginnings of local businesses and the markets.
All the produce was fresh with a huge variety of everything including meats, seafood, wine and cheese plus
so much more. I would do my shopping there but car parking is the biggest problem. The costs are too high and one needs a car to shop especially when you aren’t living close by. Because of that reason it’s not practical to shop at the market unfortunately.
