Walked in and was greeted warmly by staff. The art is beautiful and holds deep meaning. Highly recommend the tacos that offer three different meats! 🙌💕 favourite meat was 🐊, it really does taste like chicken lol

I couldn't drink wine as much as I paid. I could only drink a limited few of those wines and you didn't tell me that befor I paid.
You must show photos how small the plate is. If I saw that, I would not visit your gallery.

Outstanding and inspirational artwork to look at before you get your food that is a holiday for the taste buds.

We had a delicious lunch including some really interesting and tasty food. The art was also excellent. Everything was lovely including the owner who took the time to have a great chat with us. Highly recommend!!

Love this spot. Beautiful art, delicious food. Immaculate vibes & great friendly service. Very unique place. I came for a weekday breakfast and made my own with toast, poached egg, spinach, mushrooms and emu. The emu was smoky, charred and savoury with a hint of spices (not spicy) just absolutely mouth-watering. Took some time to wander around and take a gander at the art and never felt rushed. There are lots of interesting merch available to purchase, home goods, cosmetics, clothing, bags, jewellery. It’s a whole experience and you should plan to spend a fair bit of time here to enjoy it.

Amazing spot. Well curated art, awesome space and delicious food. We popped in for a tour with one of the artists for a work event, and would highly recommend doing this. Awesome sharing of the stories behind the artworks giving a great appreciation of both the art and country. Will definitely be back.

The gallery is worth visiting on a regular basis as the displayed art work changes. Whilst there you can enjoy a coffee and a snack or a more substantial meal. There is also a fine selection of wines by the glass or bottle to accompany your meal.

Perfect light lunch Quiet little place tucked in a basement. Food perfectly prepared- I went with the unadventurous option - lamb cutlets and a salad- both were excellent. Also at the table a perfectly cooked roo steak. Indigenous artworks, bags and jewellery around the walls , available for purchase .

Superb breakfast in a great surrounding Found this place unexpectedly, and couldn't argue with the value on the brekky roll and coffee combo. Food was excellent, coffee was great and I enjoyed looking at the art work whilst I was waiting. Service prompt and friendly. Highly recommended.

Amazing experience Artwork amazing and food that makes it all a great experience. Tried the crocodile, it was delicious. The food all looked nice and well presented. Prices were reasonable.

We loved this Gallery. Its quite small but had a exhibition of artwork from our Indigenous artist. Had a big impact on my son. We talked about the issues raised. Had some juice and water. The chef was kind enough to offer us a parting gift in the likes of a gluten free banana bread. My son had it when we got back and was very impressed with the taste.
The staff was very accommodating, kind and polite. Highly recommended a visit if your in Brisbane.

We were invited to an opening night here. Being a relatively new Brisbanite, I was keen to explore this space... it was our first visit. The Gallery/bar/restaurant was easy to find, well signed at # 300 Adelaide Street.
The space was warm and welcoming. My partner LOVED the space and vowed that he'd love to visit everytime we come in to the city.
This was an opening night for Indigenous artists. It was such a privilege to hear stories of country, and see such beautiful, raw, thought provoking storytelling through art.
The hosts of the evening provided great food ( finger food including cooked crocodile bitesize chunks on sticks). (Apparently it is the healthiest food).
We're keen to return and sample the coffee and view more great art.

Lunch getaway This place is very nice, tucked away downstairs. Food is excellent, the ambience is lovely and the First Nations artist has adorned the walls with fantastic artwork. The chef came out and ensured his creations were being enjoyed. I had the kangaroo sliders, these were very enjoyable.

Relaxed Cafe amongst beautiful indigenous artworks Wow, was so happy I've found this place. We only went for coffee and a muffin (delicious) but I'll definitely be back for more.. sitting in such a cool, relaxed atmosphere, able to look around at the wonderful artwork was just a lovely experience. The staff were really helpful and friendly. This is new my favourite place.. I would suggest if you like a really strong coffee, get an extra shot.. I did and it was lovely but I think it would be a little mild if I hadn't.. but then I like strong coffee.. not everyone does. We also got a muffin to share ($4) which was huge and really tasty.. I bought a trio of the jams which I can't wait to try.. Make sure you visit this one, it's well worth it.. I only hope it doesn't get too busy and I won't get a seat..

Great gallery with a nice layout for functions, meetings and art. Nice food ! Very informational about first Australians, their culture and history. I loved the casual atmosphere.

Birrunga Dining - Indigenous Flavours more deserving of better treatment. I was excited to visit Birrunga Dining in the basement Henderson Gallery, Adelaide Street, Brisbane.
The cafe chairs and tables are set within the gallery per se, meaning you have some pretty interesting art to appreciate whilst you're having a bite to eat.
Indigenous foods are featured in the menu, and to that effect I was keen to try one of the 'Outback' burgers. Kangaroo, Crocodile and Emu burgers were all available. I regularly eat 'roo and find crocodile a little too bland and 'vanilla' (safe) choice so went for the Emu ($16) - a housemade pattie on a soft damper roll with beetroot, red slaw and Davidson Plum jam (with chips).
The burger pattie was fairly small within the bun, and very dry to eat. I understand Emu is a very lean meat (as is roo and crocodile meat) but there was nothing to lubricate the contents. The miniscule smear of Davidson Plum Jam was barely discernable, and the 'red slaw' lacking in much of anything to bind. Large stems attached to spinach leaves (Warrigal?) did nothing to help matters, and the beetroot was tinned if I'm not mistaken. The accompanying fries were blond and very undercooked - so much so they were hard and completely unpalatable. I had to take my plate to the counter to tell the staff, who advised they were a 'new brand' and obviously needed more time in the fryer. They were promptly replaced (thank you). Upon leaving I discovered a new apprentice was in the kitchen running solo on his 3rd day which goes some way to explain matters. But not really good enough in a venue that is showcasing both indigenous art and food as a point of difference and wishing to attract international visitors who may find the experience underwhelming - as I did.
The Gallery is currently closed until the beginning of September 2019 and the cafe will be re-branded so I will give them another go.
Service was fairly uninformed but well-meaning and the young lady who took my order had a lovely genuine smile which makes a world of difference anywhere these days.
