Barossa Valley Hop On Hop Off Tour - In Region Pick Up 10.50am
Duration:
Operated By:
Join our hop-on, hop-off winery tour service departing Barossa Visitor Info Centre at 10:50am (9:30am is City Pickup Only). Hop on or off at any of the premium wineries on the circuit, taste some of the best wine in Australia, enjoy the scenery and even a regional lunch.
Scenery
Barossa is a beautiful region, with
historic villages, vineyards, and farms dotting a patchwork vista. For us, the
scenery from within the cellar doors is as impressive as it is from the
road, with tasting rooms steeped in history and atmosphere, or newly sited to
make the most of stunning surrounds.
Wine
With over 150 wineries, 550 grape growing
families and some of the oldest vines in the world, it’s no wonder Barossa
stands as one of the world’s great wine regions. Barossa Shiraz and Eden Valley
Riesling have led the way as regional heroes, with Cabernet Sauvignon, Mataro,
Grenache, Semillon, and Fortified wines all contributing to Barossa’s well-earned
reputation.
Food
Our trail features a variety of the
region’s best offerings – whether it’s Maggie Beer’s must-visit shop,
the wood fired pizzas at Saltram, or the various bakeries, cheesemongers,
and cafes in Angaston and Tanunda. Alternatively, you could always bring a
picnic and relax in the lush gardens of Yalumba.
Freedom
We are honoured to offer you the Barossa
Valley as if you were driving yourself. You can join us in the Adelaide CBD or
in Tanunda, then hop off and on our trail as you please. Find yourself
particularly enjoying a cellar door or need some extra time to process your
lunch? Stay there and get on a later bus! With our ever-helpful Info Packs and
a bit of planning, it’s easy to Tour Your Way.

Our ‘Golden Rules’ for a Great Hop On, Hop Off Tour
Hi there! In anticipation of your upcoming tour we need to emphasize our ‘Golden Rules’ to help you get the most out of your day. Please read these carefully and if you’re organising on behalf of a group, please share or convey to the others. Golden Rule #1 – Our Duty of Care and Passenger Code of Conduct Obviously our tours involve alcohol, and sometimes a very small minority of passengers may have the wrong idea about what is appropriate behaviour on our winery tours! So here are the facts: • This is not a ‘booze cruise’ and our bus is not licensed this is a leisurely day out among beautiful wine regions and we urge you to act respectfully in this regard• All passengers must read and sign our duty of care agreement prior to embarkation of their tour. You can view the agreement here.
• You need to include food and water in your planning Golden Rule #2 – Bookings are now required at most venues for all group sizes Over the last couple of years some wineries have changed how they operate, which now means most of them have seated tastings which has made capacity smaller than before. For some wineries bookings are now Essential for TrailHopper guests. You’ll find which wineries require bookings in the ‘Tasting Fees’ and ‘Food Options’ sections. (Pages 3 and 4) of the information pack.
Golden Rule #3 – How to Read Your Timetable Our timetables work beautifully, but they can be a bit tricky. Here’s what you need to know: • Our system allows for a maximum potential for 4 x 1 hour stops, of your choice. If you have a long lunch at a winery (ie you take 2 hours), then you’ll have 3 stops in total.
• To maximise your number of stops, you should visit venues in the same order as the timetable (ie go top-down, not bottom-up).
• The last column of times are the final pick up times for those venues.
That’s it! We truly hope this information helps make your day a memorable one, and we can’t wait to have you aboard. Many Thanks,
TrailHopper Team

We were surprised at how nice the food was at Oxenberry wines along with great wines.
Bus driver was friendly and everything ran on time.
Would defo do another one!!
Highly recommend it

Thanks for two awesome and memorable days !

Look forward to exploring other winery areas with this company.

I think we ended up buying over 6 bottles of wine but the highlight was the general experience. I highly recommend! We’ll be going on another tour soon!

If you want to do a speed run through all the possible wineries in the area, this isn't for you, but if you're happy to pick 4 wineries and make a day of it, I recommend this. You get a lanyard that communicates to the wineries that you're on a schedule, and they'll make sure your tasting is done in time to meet the next bus.

We did 4 stops:
Grant Burge: Great! Delicious sparkling Rose, which flew home with us.
Bethany: OMG the view and the charcuterie board and of course the wines.
Yalumba: Nice buildings and grounds
Tanunda town: Lovely little town to stroll around - amazing op shop find for $5!
This is a hassle free way to get to the Barossa and allows you to try wines without hassle of driving etc. Just be aware the bus is prompt on arrival and departure.
If you want a snap shot of the Barossa and beautiful countryside then I would recommend this as something worth doing.

Both were awesome experiences. Trail Hopper staff are the perfect hosts. Nathan and Kyle on the two separate days really did make me feel very welcome. Great commentary with lots of Knowledge. Highly recommend Trail Hopper for your wine touring experience's.
