Discover Bruny Island – A Day of Flavour, Scenery, and Storytelling
Join us for an unforgettable full-day adventure exploring the natural beauty, gourmet delights, and rich maritime history of Bruny Island. Just a short journey from Hobart, this all-inclusive experience blends indulgent local produce, spectacular scenery, and heartfelt storytelling into a truly immersive island escape.
Company Director Craig Parsey, whose childhood was spent on lighthouse stations around Tasmania, including Cape Bruny, brings a personal connection and deep knowledge of the island’s history, people, and hidden gems.
Our first stop is a secluded beach, where we treat you to a picnic-style morning tea, “our way.” Relax by the shore as you enjoy fresh Bruny Island oysters, local cheeses, freshly baked bread, and tea or coffee. It’s the perfect way to settle into island time.
As we explore Bruny’s iconic sights, you’ll taste your way across the island, sampling hand-crafted fudge and chocolate at the Bruny Island Chocolate Co. and enjoying sweet local honey at Bruny Island Honey’s charming gift shop.
Next, we head to The Neck, the isthmus that connects North and South Bruny. Climb the stairs to Truganini Lookout for breathtaking 360-degree views over the island and its stunning coastline. Along the way, keep your eyes peeled for the elusive White Wallaby, Bruny’s rare native resident. We then venture deep into the wild beauty of South Bruny National Park. Here, you’ll enjoy a truly special experience, an exclusive guided tour of the heritage-listed Cape Bruny Lighthouse, Tasmania’s only publicly accessible lighthouse tour, available only through Bruny Island Safaris. Stand on the windswept viewing platform and take in panoramic views of the mighty Southern Ocean.
After working up an appetite, we sit down for a delicious one-course lunch at Hotel Bruny, featuring the island’s finest local ingredients and stunning views over the D’Entrecasteaux Channel and Satellite Island.
Throughout the day, our local guides share stories that bring the island to life, its Indigenous heritage, maritime legacy, and vibrant food culture, ensuring you don’t just visit Bruny Island, but truly experience it like a local.

The tour was meticulously planned and provided an enjoyable experience. The assortment of cheeses, bread, and Pacific oysters complemented the serene yet orderly ambiance.
We highly recommend Bruny Island Safaris and we extend our appreciation for their hospitality.

Lunch at the pub was great also, I ordered the chicken parmi which was lovely.
The portion size was a little bit small, it appeared to be cut in half.
A little bit disappointing as when I walked in I noticed someone else also having the chicken parmi and it was HUGE!!
That was the only thing, however I am a guts LOL!!

Unfortunately l think the price is too much compared to other lighthouse tours we have been on and we had a discount through bookme.

We were also able to sample some local produce - Cheeses , Oysters and Chocolate. This day tour is a must do it really captures what Bruny island has to offer.

Our guide was really friendly and knowledgeable but most of the group thought he was a rally car driver. He drove insanely fast on dirt roads which was a little scary. Just confirmed to all of us too rushed.
The lighthouse tour was fantastic ! If you’re scared of heights be warned but I’d still recommend it (I’m no good with heights but i don’t regret doing it!!)
Too rushed / typical bus tour : when we got on the bus we were warned today is going to be pushed to see it all ….. our first stop was at the ferry to Bruny island. Now despite being told it’s going to be rushed he purposely stopped the bus for us to grab coffee despite a ferry ready to board…..why!?!? … clearly kick backs are in place from the coffee shop. A waste of 30min!!!!
The it was off to get shucked …. Well that’s what we thought but instead it was a drive by with the driver quickly jumping out to get a few oysters to go / eat later. This was really disappointing as we had hoped to stop and grab some cooked oysters - NOPE!
Next honey stop for a v quick tasting. I’m not a big honey guy but my wife loved it !
Then off to Truganini lookout . Well worth a stop. The views are amazing!!!
Next stop, was at two tree point for cheese, bread and sample of oysters . The oysters were great as was the views!!!!!! Such a pretty spot to stop at.
Next was a rally car trip to the lighthouse !!!! Damn.
The lighthouse tour is a must . It was soo good . Incredible history and views.
Off to lunch and again the rally car driver was at his best …… hotel Bruny had some awesome local beers on tap!!! Food was ok. Can’t complain but nothing to write home about.
After lunch was more driving and a visit to chocolate shop - very touristy. Wouldn’t bother if going by myself.
Last stop was cheese and beer shop. Very friendly service and good beer. Worth a stop.
Back to ferry and home .
Was it worth $520 for two …… hmmmmmm …. Yes and no. Just depends on you. If you want a guide, wanna have a few beers and not worry about driving then yes. If you are happy to drive (we didn’t have a car that day) then do it yourself and you can pick and choose where you wanna go.

Tour guide was nice, very informative with good humor, easy to understand for non-native english speakers.
Wonderful views of the island. Enjoyed the lighthouse tour.

We enjoyed the foods . Oysters. Honey. Chocolate and yummy luncheon. We certainly have a happy
day out and highly recommended to others to join this tour .

We get to see a white wallaby - thanks Rick!

Shaun was a lovely guide and we were lucky to only have 4 people including us on our tour as this allowed us more room to move and also time to ask questions.
If you visit Bruny Island the Lighthouse tour is well worth the visit. Be aware though that it’s best to travel before dusk and sun set as there is a lot of wildlife around.

The morning tea at the beach with oysters and cheese was delicious.
The tour of the lighthouse was interesting with incredible views.
Our seafood lunch at the Bruny hotel was scrumptious.
All in all a wonderful experience of a beautiful location.

There is a reason why they have preserved this landmark; the history, location, workmanship and the important role it played.
This is the only way to see inside and top if you have a head for heights. Tour spots are limited though so make sure you book ahead and have a printout or copy with you as there is limited internet access.
Thanks Steve, great job

Thank you for an outstanding day and I highly recommend this trip to anyone reading.

Viewing platform at the adventure bay lookout was just amazing & worth the trek.
The whole trip experience is well worth doing and we would fully recommend this tour as a must do while in Hobart .
Thank you for a great trip

First stops were at Get Shucked Oysters & The Bruny Island Cheese & Brewery for morning tea supplies. Next stop was the lookout at the Neck. Views are always spectacular from the top of the lookout. The 200 steps are a challenge. Onto morning tea of oysters, local bread & cheese at Two Tree Point at Adventure Bay, a location that I had never stopped at. Absolutely beautiful spot, the water looked tempting, but not in September.
Next onto Bruny Island lighthouse. Again a site I have visited many times, but the bonus for me was climbing the lighthouse. Spectacular views & interesting history.
Back to the Alonnah Hotel (the only hotel on the island) for lunch. All the usual pub favourites with a couple of local specialties. You would be very fussy not to find something on the menu.
2 final stops on the return journey, the first the Bruny Island Chocolate Factory & then the final stop at Bruny Island Cheese & Brewery. (recommend the whey stout).
Would recommend this trip for anyone wanting a more relaxed tour of Bruny.

Very informative on the trip through out the day.
A layed back tour to suit all and not too rushed while at site visits.
Saw all that had been advertised plus that little extra that mattered.
The food supplied was well presented and nobody went hungry.
Water and biscuits in between site visits were a welcome addition.
In general, a great day out.

We enjoyed your tour a lot. The value is more than money.
Thank you so much.
お値段以上にとても楽しめました。有り難うございました。

The oysters from “Get Shucked” were the best oysters that we have ever eaten! You MUST try and buy the Prickly Box Honey from Bruny Island Honey amazing! Most importantly there are no words to describe the cheese from Bruny Island Cheese Co. ????
Such great memories were made and we would highly recommend taking this tour not only for the fun & food but for those amazing lighthouse views which were out of this world spectacular!
