About
Step aboard the beautiful Southern Swan or the magnificent Soren Larsen for Mothers’ Day, Fathers’ Day, a birthday or some other special celebration. Take a trip back in time sailing past some of Sydney’s finest attractions whilst enjoying a substantial finger food brunch. Enjoy tasty treats that have been hand-made by our French chef caterers using only the finest ingredients.
A truly unique part of your experience aboard a tall ship is the moment the wind takes over and the sound of the engine fades away. Like stepping back in time, experience what thousands of sailors across the ages have felt as they stood on a tall ships deck. Watch the wind fill the sails and feel its strength carry the ship across Sydney’s sparkling harbour.
A Tall Ship Cruise gives you the unique opportunity to get involved – help us hoist and set the sails or take a turn steering the ship! If you’d like to heave on a rope you can – otherwise simply sit back, relax and enjoy the magnificent harbour views. If you are looking for a wonderful morning on the harbour combining fun, tall ship sailing and bubbly, then this is the cruise for you.

James was such a knowledgeable captain and we would definitely book this trip again!!! Thank you James and crew for a memorable day out.
Every minute of the 1.5hrs was packed with well thought out adventure and activity, so much so that we barely noticed the amazing views of Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Opera House and Denison Island!
Captain Pineapple and first mate Jolly Roger were top notch entertainers, and even the 'serious' captain and crew were in on the laughs and fun while keeping everyone safe and sound.
Can't recommend this enough, run by a family-owned business that really puts heart into the whole experience, one not to be missed by pirate enthusiasts young and old alike ☠️⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⚓
Ship crews were friendly and hospitable. Food was simple but nice with free flow of wine and beverages.
The only thing that could possibly be done better, is making people aware that the Tall ship would be run off the ships motor & not the sails, prior to booking. I fully understand & respect that the Sails can't be used for safety reasons during Vivid & New Years due to all the Harbour traffic. Which was explained to us by the Captain of the vessel. However I feel that this should be known prior to booking. As some, like my friend & I, might be looking for that full Tall Ship experience .transporting you back in time. Regardless it certainly didn't ruin the wonderful experience we did have & we'll be back for a Day time cruise, when the harbour is less hectic & the Sails will be used to power the ship. Thanks for a wonderful Vivid tour. :)
I would highly recommend this unique experience to anyone
Highly recommended. 👌🏻
Photos on the ad site are nothing like what you experience , felt like you were ripped off and deflated when you arrive at pick up point.
Advertise what you are really sailing guys so you don't have people disappointed on spending a lot of money. You boldly said to leave a review so here it is!
This is the second time they have done this to us. We then had to follow up our own refund with red balloon even though they needed to advise red balloon they had cancelled.
Not reputable and have gone down hill significantly which is sad.
We were in Sydney for a weekend so had to rearrange plans - not a good company.
Did the overnight cruise, which included drinks and canapes as part of the sunset sail. Plentiful and delicious food. Breakfast was ample and fresh.
Howard is a very informative and gracious host, a mine full of info. All crew friendly and helpful.
Some feedback; no hot water in shower (website says hot showers) and need to advise that cabins have bunk beds.
We were very lucky that we were able to unfurl the sails and sail back peacefully with the wind, with various members on the tour able to take a turn at the wheel. It was incredible to see the tall ship in the foreground with any enormous cruise ship behind… what a difference!
Our only complaint was the narrater told us where to sit and was speaking to all of us as we started off but stayed up by the “bar area” most of the trip so we never did hear any history of the Bay Area. It was a little to unstable for us to stand without something to hold onto to get closer.
The masts were only up for awhile which made a quiet part of the trip.
Other than the mast climber and Captain the crew seemed a little disorganized with the whole operation of rope tying and when to do what. The Captain had to repeat his commands a few times as the team sorted out the ship returning. The dingy was under inflated and holding water. Being boaters ourselves this did not install confidence.
Friendly staff and think it was overpriced for the trip.
There are a few improvements I would've liked. First, time allowed up on the mast was inconsistent. Two people were allowed up at a time--I went up nearly 10 minutes after someone else but we were both told to come down at the same time. Those who went later in the journey were also able to stay up longer than those who went earlier. Which seemingly led to the next point...
Second, they told us at the beginning that they'd put the sails down and let everyone have a turn at the helm, and neither of those happened. Totally understandable if the weather doesn't permit the sails going down but as far as we understood, the issue was that there wasn't time left after all the mast climbers were done. Either limit the number of climbers per trip, or don't announce that the sails will come down if you're not sure yet. (Or, at least please let us know if the plan changes, so I'm not waiting excitedly for something that never happens. The sails are kind of a main point of going on a ship like this!)
Finally, we had very little commentary about the harbor or what the crew were doing around the ship. We asked a couple of questions and didn't get great answers (e.g., Q: what are each of the sails for? A: they all do different things). It seems like other reviewers got lots of commentary so maybe this was just an off day in that regard.
All that said, we had gorgeous weather and great views. It was fun to see the cabin below deck. If you like ships, it's a great way to see the harbor.
Unique adventure in Sydney harbour.
The crew were amazing, friendly and just the best service.
The tour was informative and fun with the best views.
The food was hot and fresh and absolutely delicious.
My two girls climbed the mast and left feeling so proud of themselves and received a special certificate that we will frame with a special picture of our ship.
This was just magic, if I could fly from Adelaide and have a beer on this ship with this crew every weekend I would!
My heart is so full after this experience with u thank you so so much.
My wife, daughter and myself thoroughly enjoyed our time on the Soren Larsen. Friendly staff, knowledgeable guide (Howard), great food and drinks available.
All too soon we were headed back to harbour a truly wonderful way to spend an afternoon. An excellent experience if you like old ships and traditional methods of sailing. I would happily recommend this trip to anybody.

Highly recommend for a relaxing, no frills, Enjoyable evening on the water.
Gorgeous sunny, calm day with no massive cruise ships obstructing views was the real bonus!
THE entertainment was the passengers who paid extra to do the Mast Climb with safety harness who signed a disclaimer on board prior to climb. Fun to cheer & watch esp. when they are your friends!????
2 small pieces of canapes (no seconds) were served prior to lunch. Lunch is basic small plate of rice with butter chicken, creamy potatoes & salad + a small square choc fudge brownie after. You don't even get a small bottle of water to go with it... Water, soft drinks & alcohol is at extra cost.
Crew are a cheerful lot & chatty Ruth gave overview on harbour sights, homes of the well-heeled as well as some background on penal colony history. It would have been a lot better if she was equipped with a basic microphone with amplifier. Could not hear much if you moved to the back or even halfway & this is a pretty small vessel.
Some other shortcomings: # Not shown exactly where the safety vests are located - only a mention of "we have them if you need them"...No need for aircraft demo but on a small ship with all manner of yachts & vessels zooming about, some perilously close - you can't be slip shod abt safety vests.# Toilets? No mention either. # Staff having same lunch on board at the same time as passengers. So crew is ready to render aid while consuming or just after?
Love to give you 5 star review guys but hopefully above is addressed. How about some of the crew dressing the part of ye olde tall ship period? That would have added the real charm & ambience too!????
The light lunch was tasty ,but don’t worry about the drinks package .
