Anita's Pastry Class - Loved it ! I just loved Anita's pastry class. She was so knowledgeable, friendly, and full of advice. There was nothing better than sitting down to eat what you have made yourself, especially with a great host. Can and will definitely recommend Anita's classes.

Last week, I had the chance to spend the day learning how to bake bread with Anita. It was a great, enjoyable experience. Anita is lovely, her passion for baking is obvious and she managed to share her love and enthusiasm for baking with us. It is a hands on class during which you will bake bread, pretzels, fruit cake and learn how to make butter puff pastry (croissants). Anita took the time to explain every step to make it easy to reproduce at home and more approachable. 100% would recommend!

Swiss Cooking class with Anita We (my partner and I) participated in Anita’s vegetarian cooking class, there was one other participant. The menu consisted of veggie strudel, gnocchi, cheese tart, cold pea soup, veggie patties and a cheese cake. We also made apple strudel to take home. All food was absolutely delicious. Anita was warm and welcoming and the training was delivered in an informal, friendly fashion. We learned a lot, not just about these recipes but ingredients in general and cooking techniques. Anita has a wealth of knowledge about community and activities across the Fleurieu Peninsula and is an excellent ambassador for local tourism. We intend to do more classes with Anita in future.

A wonderful class with a focus on cooking vegetarian dishes (and an apple strudel to take home!). Anita is a great teacher, warm and welcoming as we cooked in her home. The class is relaxing, social and the food is delicious. I was fortunate to do the class with a lovely couple and the social part was just as enjoyable as the cooking, finding we had many things in common. Anita also shared her extensive knowledge of the Goolwa region and I would highly recommend this experience to others.

On a very warm day we gathered in the cool and order of Anita's beautiful kitchen to learn the noble art of bread making. What a fantastic day. Within a few short hours we made 5 min bread dough, pretzels, butter pastry, croissants, fruit bread, a plaited loaf called zopf, all the while chatting, laughing, sipping delicious beverages and snacking on fabulous food.
Anita's knowledge and skill, her wonderful teaching style put us all at ease and made the daunting seem so simple. After the practical and educational components (I LOVED the focus on nutrition) we enjoyed a beautiful and relaxed lunch, with a glass of wine. The day passed quickly, and I left with a full tummy, a bowl of dough, a sourdough starter, a magnificent array of our baked goods but most of all the confidence and enthusiasm to bake.
Anita's attention to every small detail, her efforts to make us feel relaxed and comfortable in her home, her graciousness and warmth all just added to what was an outstanding experience. Don't wait - just do it. You'll love it.

Those pretzels ..... What an outstanding day! Anita's skill knowledge and passion for cooking and baking shone through. From the outset we were hands on, learning how to make a variety of amazing baked goods - sourdough, 5 minute yeast bread, fruit bread, croissants, pretzels (omg the pretzels so good) , butter pastry, zopf, using every type of flour. It was fantastic. The nutrition and theory covered was relevant and fascinating.
Anita's attention to detail made every aspect of the day perfect. Lunch was superb and the day flashed by with lots of laughter, conversation, incredible food, delicious beverages. I left with a very happy tummy, bags full of baked goods, bread dough, sourdough starter, recipe book and full of confidence and enthusiasm. This is a top rate experience, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Highly recommended! I am a novice baker. And this amazing class provided the education, direction and tools to instil the confidence i needed to give bread baking bread a try! Anita is a powerhouse of energy and skill and covered all the basics in such an accessible way! The kitchen is spotless and the small group of fabulous foodies made the day so enjoyable. Not only did we learn, but we were treated to delicious snax and sampled some local wines throughout the experience. We took home a readymade dough, (no more excuses) and a bespoke recipe book too! Brrad making workshop Anita was the most welcoming and generous host. I would highly recommend this workshop to anyone!
The small group size allowed plenty of time for questions, hands on experience and taking in all the techniques.
We relaxed afterwards with a taste test of each of the breads and some other delicious treats.
We were well looked after the whole session with local wines, herbal teas and excellent coffee.
I have already baked my first sourdough loaf at home to use for breakfast and am looking forward to making pretzels next .

Anita's class are not to be missed, we loved every second of it! We had the pleasure of joining Anita for her bread-making class a few days ago and we are still buzzing from the experience. Her passion for cooking is infectious and her encouragement towards us was much appreciated. She instill inspiration that has remained with me and was very happy to answer any silly baking questions I had and even suggested that we try and experiment with flavours. My partner and I went together and we are already thinking about how we can use these skills at home!

It was an all-inclusive 4-hour visit, from the ingredients used, drinks provided and a fabulous lunch that she prepared for us. The day also allowed us to cook in the comfort of her home, really showing that you didn't need a fancy industrial kitchen, and we felt very welcomed.

Friends and I contacted Anita to organise a cooking experience and chose a savoury finger foods session. Anita created a personalised menu for us based on our ideas and dietary choices. From the moment we were warmly welcomed into Anita’s home, she made the entire experience feel special and effortless. Everything was beautifully organised — from the recipes and ingredients to the clear demonstrations and explanations of techniques. Getting hands-on and making the food ourselves was not only informative but incredibly fun.

Private cooking class We had a private cooking session. Anita was very accommodating with menu changes. The lessons were informative fun with lots of chances to ask questions. At the end we got to eat all the delicious creations and take home the left overs. Highly recommended.

Making Sweet & Savoury Strudels with the talented Anita Robins... Foodbuilder Fleurieu Food Festival Fun afternoon cooking with Anita Thankyou. We started with introductions, some drinks and nibbles. Learnt and chatted about Strudels then the fun began. Hand mixing the pastry and then stretching it to a paper thin consistency without tearing it, then filling and rolling it, then of course in the oven. We made both sweet and savoury strudels. Once cooked, we sat down and ate the feast with some more wine. Very delicious . My favourite was the spinach and ricotta strudel. Finishing off with the famous Apple Strudel with cream. Well priced and good value. We even received a small Strudel recipe book each to take home. Highly recommended. Thankyou Anita

Amazing vegetation cooking class This was an incredible experience from start to end. Anita was very so warm and welcoming and I was blown away with the number of recipes she had shared during the class. Anita answered any questions we had and we got to learn a mixture between simple and tasty dishes but also ones that had had technique. I was not disappointed and the food came out so beautifully presented and was DELICIOUS! Would definitely recommend this class and I will also be going back again. Not only was everything tasty the class was so much fun! Cannot also wait to cook these recipes for my family!

If you like baking bread and food that's where you go I thoroughly enjoyed Bread; Everything you Knead to Know with Anita. The way she showed us how to to several different breads will motivate me to try out bread I haven't dared to make until now.
The afternoon was nicely rounded up with some food and of course tasting the bread.
There was plenty to take home, a lot of impressions, ideas, recipes, some dough a sourdough starter, the experience did not end when we left.

Three of us completed the pastry class and had a great time. Anita was willing to negotiate the structure of the class to incorporate things we wanted to learn. There was a good balance between demonstrating and hands-on cooking. We made some fantastic savoury and sweet dishes and ate them for lunch. There was so much food we all took a large package home with us. Anita is lots of fun and it was really interesting learning about her Swiss food and heritage. Highly recommend 👍

An all round excellent experience at Anita's pastry class, which covered all you need to know to make perfect pastry dishes. The combination of Anita's patient and clear instruction, the opportunity to try making everything ourselves and the delicious 5 course lunch of our own cooking was perfect. This was a great activity to do on holidays while visiting the Fleurieu Peninsula. From the welcome drink to the collection of food to take home, this was a great value for money experience.

Pastry making delights - Food Builder I attended Anita’s Pastry workshop recently. This was my fourth workshop and again I walked away with a wealth of experiences and useable cooking skills and as usual I was not disappointed and the workshop exceeded my expectations. Apart from an amazing day of experiences and taste sensations I met other like minded people wanting to gain new skills - always nice and has been a pattern from my previous workshops. What I particularly liked was the encouragement to experiment, learn from your experiences and most importantly to try new approaches. Highly recommended.

A slice of European fine food in beautiful Goolwa What a way to spend a few hours cooking, chatting and sipping on fine wine with Anita in her beautiful kitchen. Anita showcased a menu full of South Australian produce paired with local wine - what a treat!

I attended one of Anita’s bread making courses yesterday. The whole experience was above and beyond my expectations. After introductions to my fellow novice “bakers” we were given a choice of delicious Kimbolton wines. The class was hands on friendly and so informative. We were shown how to make 5 minute sour dough, puff pastry resulting in mouth watering croissants, pretzels, fruit loaf and even the traditional plaited Swiss zopf. I loved every minute of the class - but wait, there’s more.
After all our efforts were merrily baking away in the ovens we were given a really informative presentation on wheat and the different flours available. Now one of our fellow class mates had a celiac family member so we were lucky enough to be shown how to make bread to cater for them. Anita had all the answers. Then to top it off we were served a delicious light luncheon of the various things we had made. Plus when we departed we were able to take home our very professional loaves and a “starter” to get us on our way into the world of bread making.
Thank you so much Anita. I am so excited now to be offering Anita’s classes in-house to our guests at Cowrie Retreat.

The Best ever Bread making Classe The bread making course was fabulous in every way. Anita is extremely professional and welcomed us with a choice of excellent Kimbolton wine home made wafers and cheese. Anita had prepared a comprehensive list of different traditional breads for us to make. The class was hands on, relaxed and so informative not to mention loads of fun. We made our own croissants, pretzels, sour dough, fruit loaf and learned to make the traditional plaited Zopf.
We received so much information and then to top it off our produce was transformed into a tasty luncheon served with more delicious Kimbolton wines. Anita just keeps on giving and I highly recommend her classes. We are certainly thrilled to be offering her classes at Cowrie Retreat Fleurieu Peninsula Luxury Beachfront Accommodation. I’m sure this will be a highlight for our guests.

Delicious I really enjoyed the cheese masterclass with Anita learnt a great deal. Loved we made dishes and tasted most , took home cheese tart which my hubby said was delicious. The cheese fondue around the open fire in Anita's back yard was a fitting touch to the end of the class. will be doing more classes!

What a wonderful little surprise. Both Anita and her husband were lovely and very accommodating, With so much worldly experience we ended up with one of the most amazing experiences. I can soundly say this has been a dream come true! I have always wanted to do a cooking class and Anita made it relaxed and spectacular.

We got our hands marvellously mucky making breads such as croissants, pretzels, fruit loaves, butter puff pastry, Laugenbrot, Sourdough, and Rye bread. We have all come home with a Zoph (braided bread), a dough which is proving, to be cooked tomorrow, a recipe book with all the breads we made and our own living soughdough starter. Anita is an award winning, world class chef, who is incredibly knowledgeable and her passion for all things food and wine is infectious. Her home is outstanding and the lunch she prepared, with carefully selected wines was amazing!

Festive fun and food Had a fabulous time in Anita's sun drenched kitchen, cooking, talking, eating and drinking. It's a very relaxed class, where you get to make some surprisingly simple yet sophisticated dishes..would highly recommend

AirBnB stay I stayed in Anita's AirBnB back in early January and I had a lovely experience. I hadn't long moved from the UK and had lots of hints and tips about what to see in the area. Anita and her husband were extremely welcoming. The room was pristine and extremely comfortable. I have also not ever had a breakfast for one like it! Home-made bread, pastries and wonderful freshly made coffee. Highly recommend.

My friend and I did a bread making class and absolutely loved it. Anita is so fun and welcoming, it was very special getting to cook with her in her home. I tried and tried with sourdough through covid but it never came out quite right. My '5 minute' take home to cook sourdough turned out perfect. All recipes were easy and I am so excited to make them. There was great variety and I ate way too much food! I am looking forward to coming back.
