We reserved an all day Great Ocean Road trip with John for our family of four. He was responsive, and informative and easy to chat with. And upgraded us to the VIP Mercedes Van, which was lovely gesture.

Our driver on the day was Michael. We spent almost 12 hours together and it went by really fast. It's a testament to Michael's knowledge, conversational skills and jokes. He kept us entertained throughout the journey, calling out historical note dating back to time of First Peoples and founding of Melbourne to current times. It was insightful and we walked away better informed.

Michael also knew all the good spots and how to beat the traffic and large crowds. We went reverse starting at 7 am, went to a lovely cafe for breakfast, then 12 Apostles where there were only 20 to 25 people around. He also took us to spots that had better views with literally no other people around. Michael was also generous with sharing his personal stories, and connections during our travels.

Highly recommend MTC for the Great Ocean Road trip. Recommend calling John directly to help you make informed decision and a cheeky upgrade, and highly recommend Micheal.

Michael is a fantastic tour guide.

We did 3 tours with him, the Melbourne City Tour, the Yarra Valley Tour and the Puffing Billy & Phillip Island Tour.

He is a very knowledgeable, friendly and dependable guide. We have up to 15 pax (including 5 elderly of 70 and above and 4 kids below 12) which isn’t easy to manage but he carefully provided suggestions as to time allocation and the places we should visit or give a miss due to time constraints. He also provides interesting bits of information and stories to the places that we visit and is ever so patient with our requests. We all had an enjoyable time.

Also, a shout-out to John who did all the administrative matters, helped arranged all the tours and answered my many queries.

In short, all tours were extremely enjoyable as they were tailored and customised to what I wanted (with their suggestions & inputs).

Notable places to visit are definitely the Puffing Billy Train Ride, Penguin Parade, Rayner’s Orchard and lunch at Yarra Valley Dairy.

Only regret is that we didn’t check the date to ensure that Queen Victoria Market and South Melbourne Market closure date and ended up only being able to drive pass.

Amazing Sunset Great Ocean Road Trip We have a group of 10 pax, including 4 elderly (above 70yo) and 2 kids (below 12).

Our tour guide, Wes, took very good care of the entire group. He was really helpful in customising the experience, from taking off roads to do some koala and wallaby spotting to finding the perfect photo spots and places to eat.

Great Mornington Peninsula Winery Tour with MTC We couldn’t have asked for a better way to conclude our trip to Melbourne! FABULOUS CUSTOMIZED TOURS This was an excellent tour company. We booked 2 CUSTOMIZED tours directly with the company. John, the owner, was very responsive, and while I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted to do, John did offer some guidance and assistance and suggestions. We were assigned Wes as our guide for both days and he was OUTSTANDING! Other reviewers have said the same thing and they are right.

The first day Wes took us to Wilson’s Prom. It’s a drive from Melbourne but Wes knew where to grab some coffee and pick up a picnic lunch about halfway there. Our day was centered around making the boat ride so everything was timed perfectly to make the 2 PM tour. The boat ride is a must in Wilson’s Prom. Before that we were able to hike on squeaky beach and walk around tidal river. Then we went to a beach where we had our picnic lunch and went for a swim. We made the 2 PM boat ride comfortably. Once we landed back at around 4 PM we started to make our way back to Melbourne. But Wes made a few suggestions along the way for view points and a nice walk to spot kangaroos and Emus. Sadly we didn’t see any Emus.

The second day we went to Mornington Peninsula. That was also a fabulous day with audibles being made to get some fresh strawberries. All in a day we went to Brighton Beach boxes, rented bikes in Point Nepean National Park, shopped in Sorrento, saw London Bridge, walked around Cape Shank, went to Pt. Leo winery and sculpture park, and culminated with a swim at a beach.

This was a fabulous tour company, with a fabulous guide, who showed lots of flexibility in organizing the day and then taking advantage of more opportunities as the clock allowed. And I can’t forget that Wes is an excellent conversationalist with lots of stories and insights. Can’t recommend high enough.

I had an absolutely outstanding trip with Kevin Taylor from Melbourne Touring Company in February 2026. Kevin was tremendously knowledgeable about the locations visited and quite skilled at finding and alerting me to native plants and animals along the way. Fantastic tour around the Mornington peninsula with a great guide - Michael shared a lot about the city and the area, as well as all the wines we tried! It was such an enjoyable day, highlight being the tasting at Jimmy's Rum where we had the tasting with "Jimmy" himself.

Guides with knowledge A thoroughly enjoyable day on the Great Ocean Road. From start to finish the trip was fantastic and made more enjoyable by Kevin (our guide) who was not only a fount of all knowledge as we navigated the roads but a fun traveling companion. We hit lucky coming across a mob of kangaroos (thanks to Kev’s persistence) which was the icing on the cake.

Best Customer service ever Arranged at short notice for 6 of us traveling to see Lions rugby. Recommended by Pan Pacific hotel concierge we arranged a winery tour with no hassle. We had a great vehicle pick us up at hotel, visited 3 wineries and had lunch at third which was excellent. Our driver, Michael, was brilliant-knowledgeable and even found wild kangaroos to see at end of tour. Somewhere along the route I lost my British and Irish Lions cap. Melbourne Touring Company did an amazing job for the ALARA 50th Anniversary event in Melbourne. Wes and Neil did an excellent job looking after us all and getting us to the venues and return on time. Excellent Tour: Highly Recommend My family of four booked two tours through MTC Tours. John was super helpful with all of the back-and-forth emails I had (and there were many!) He was patient and answered very promptly. We decided to book two days of private tours and had wo separate drivers, Michael and Wes. The first tour took us to an incredible beach, Maru Koala and Animal Park, and the Penguin Parade. Michael was very flexible and provided a great day for us. Our tour included a chocolate tour factory visit but we wanted to spend more time at an incredible beach so he was happy to make the adjustment and made sure to keep us on track for the Penguin Parade time. The next day, Wes picked us promptly and he explained we would do the reverse Ocean Tour to beat the traffic and have an overall better experience. He was correct! The day was awesome. We had two requests if possible; to see a koala and a kangaroo in the wild and Wes delivered! We knew it would be a long shot because of well nature. But Wes put us in the best places to see both and we got lucky. Both Michael and Wes were not only excellent and safe drivers, but they are all around delightful people who my whole family enjoyed being with, which is important because they were both very long days. I've traveled around dthe world with many tours and recommend MTC Tours 100% with no reservations.

John was punctual, responsive and accommodating to our last minute changes. The great thing about private tours is that you get picked up from your address and don’t have to worry about driving on long, winding and narrow roads. John is a great guy and he taught my kids how to fish.

I wasn’t sure whether to join a group tour, or to pay more money for the privacy of a private tour. I am so glad that I chose to join this company’s tour. It was an unforgettable day, an experience that I will never forget. I went with John, and he arranged everything down to the last detail. We knew that we were in safe hands. We were able to stretch out and relax, because it is a very long day to drive to the famous great oceanic road and the 12 apostles. Great tour. Great guide. Lots of great information. We chose the private tour with Melbourne touring company because it had great reviews and we wanted the flexibility to spend more or less time at each spot. We chose reverse itinerary with a 7am start to avoid the crowds and it worked out perfectly. Our driver, Wes, was a wealth of information, made great suggestions, and remained flexible to our wishes. We stopped to see koalas on the side of the road, drove through the golf course to see kangaroos, and spent time at each sight without feeling rushed. Unforgettable Great Ocean Road Tour This was really unforgettable tour! We went for Great Ocean Road Tour for 2 days with kids and all of us was very very happy with it. Pete showed us many interesting and sometimes secret places. We visited 12 Apostels, London Bridge, Rainforest and many others beautiful places. Degustation lunch at The Cupps Estate Winery - Mornington Peninsula The most beautiful day! We celebrated a very special birthday with a degustation lunch at The Cupps Estate on the Mornington Peninsula, and John made the whole day so easy and seamless that all we had to concentrate on was enjoying the many great plates and local wine overlooking the most stunning views with our favourite company. The service from the start or our journey to the staff at the estate and back again was 10/10. They were so friendly and accommodating. The perfect day to celebrate. Couldn’t have asked for a better day. Would definitely recommend!

A one of a kind experience! Truly recommended day trip. The views are mesmerizing, the road is unique and the experience is really worth it. Our guide Wes has been truly professional all the way from recommending us the departure time, to guiding us during the day with his very elaborate, knowledgeable and fun commentaries. Wes even looked out for koalas, kangaroos and wallabies that we wanted to see (and saw) in the wild. Our family really enjoyed this day. Gracias!

Amazing Experience with Melbourne Touring Company We chanced upon this tour when reading through another review. We did not regret a single moment in this trip. From the time we were picked up till the time we were dropped back at the hotel, this entire trip felt like an Australian road trip with stops at scenic places along the Great Ocean Road and viewing wildlife such as koalas and kangaroos in their natural habitat. Most of all, our tour guide, Wes Albert was really one of the best guides we have had in our trip. He suggested to take the opposite route where we headed straight to the Twelve Apostles and then moved down the road and then back to Melbourne. This helped us to beat the crowds from larger tours and enabled us to have more time at scenic places for photography. Wes also provided so much information about the Great Ocean Road, and we also enjoyed conversing generally about Australia with him! We definitely learned a lot more through this trip and would recommend to others, especially those who prefer to customise their trip and to have more private time, while being guided. The vehicle provided was also very clean and tidy, and they provided us with water, wet wipes and ensured that we had ample toilet breaks throughout the journey. Wes also went the extra mile to take good photos for us and they turned out really well! Please consider this company for your trips as well!

Great Ocean dr tour The Great Ocean driver reverse tour and the guide Wes were amazing. I wanted to customise the tour as per my preference. John and Wes were good to suggest private tour and the reverse travel option worked so well that we got ample of time at 12 apostles with less tourists. Amazing views The views were amazing and we took a lot of beautiful photos. Our tour guide, Wes, was very friendly and knowledgeable. The whole trip took around 12 hours, was long but very enjoyable ride.
