HORSES, WINE & BEER TOUR
Relax and let our host drive while you enjoy the view and a few…
Your day will start in the homestead at Woodlands Historic Park with a generous sized scone served with your choice of coffee or tea. We recommend you not to overindulge at breakfast on the morning of your tour, you’ll want to save room for your scone!
After morning tea you will have time to explore the homestead / museum before you tour of Living Legends, also within Woodlands Historic Park. Living Legends is home to some favourite retired champion race horses such as Santa Ana Lane, Silent Witness, Apache Cat, Brew, Efficient, Twilight Payment, Redkirk Warrior (GB), Peniaphobia (IRE), Tom Melbourne, Fawkner and Almandin. Recent additions include Gailo Chop, Pakistan Star, Rattan, Behemoth and Johnny Get Angry. On the tour you will get to meet, pat and feed the horses. If you’re lucky, you’ll even get to watch the local kangaroos in their natural environment.
We then head down the road to Holgate Brewery for beer tasting and delicious pub lunch. Holgate’s is a country pub with a range of classic beer styles, full in flavour and rich in character. See a microbrewery in action at the hotel. Staff will lead you through tasting the range of beers on offer at Holgate before showing you the brewery itself.
Our last stop is wine tasting at the Hanging Rock Winery where you can enjoy the beautiful views of the Macedon Ranges while sampling the award winning wines.

Very comfy transport in a Mercedes van with our own personal tour guide! On arrival at the homestead we could have a look around then had a lovely Devonshire tea prior to the actual tour starting. You join the "Living Legends" tour with loads of carrots and .buggy transport if needed. Otherwise it is an easy walk from paddock to paddock engaging with the likes of Apache Cat, Brew(almost 30!),The Cleaner, Bohemeth amongst many others!
If you have a love for horses it is a hoot. All questions can be answered by either Jess or the Legends tour guide. We thoroughly enjoyed it and came away with some great pics. Our bonus was meeting the delightful Kate(volunteer) and her Rottweiler who offered her assistance in calling Bohemeth to the fence. He and many of the others come for the dog experience and her liquorice!!!!
On completion of the tour Jess returned us to the city and even dropped us off in an area that we requested. We would have no hesitation in recommending Jess and her tour company for this and any of the other tours that sounded great.

Informed. A great time for a novice visitor and her Aussie friends.

We could not fault the tour Jess's efforts and knowledge that she passed on to two older Australians already well versed on our history. We learnt a lot.
Jess was a safe driver and always prompt
Jess also gave us space for our own appropriate amount of time without prompting.
Well done Jess

A relaxing day with a beautiful lunch provided.
Our guide was friendly and it was a lovely way to spend time reconnecting with friends after so long. Lots of laughs and drinks. We honestly didn’t want to come home.
I couldn’t recommend this tour more highly.

We found our host/driver to be Fun, Informative and Friendly.
The tour is very relaxed and casual with little time pressures to keep moving on.
We were disappointed that we couldn’t get into the band rooms at the Corner Hotel, Richmond and the Gershwin Room at the Espy, St Kilda for a behind the scenes look.
