We have just done a tasting at Katnook and it was amazing! Not particularly a seasoned wine drinkers but there wasn't a wine we didnt like! Unfortunately we didn't get the lady's name but she was wonderful and really made the experience!

Nice wine selection with a lovely knowledgeable sales lady. I’m glad we stopped here , warm cosy atmosphere.

Another fabulous Coonawarra winery. The wine to always carries a human hint of the place where it was made. The wonderful staff certainly ensure yiu get that hint of joy when you drink their wines! Incredible cheese platter and wonderful food truck on site. Don't miss this this place if you need a cull a winery because of time.

We had a wonderful wine tasting in Coonawarra on Thursday. Even though we arrived later in the day, the service was still warm and welcoming. The staff member (Naomi I think) happily guided us through the wine list, taking the time to explain the options and help us discover some favourites. It made for a relaxed and enjoyable experience, and we really appreciated the great service and hospitality.

Had a wonderful visit to Katnook cellar door recently. The setting is beautiful and relaxed,
Naomi and Jess were incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, taking the time to talk us through the wines and the story behind them. The tasting was well paced and we never felt rushed.

A couple of the wines really stood out and we ended up taking a few bottles home with us. It’s clear a lot of care goes into both the wines and the visitor experience.

Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area, a fantastic cellar door experience.

Until we went to visit Katnook for wine tasting today we were having the best experience at Coonawarra.
We rode to Katnook on a Friday as part of our planned day. It was 4.30pm and the big open flag was blowing in the breeze at the front gate. According to the website it closed at 5pm.
Parked our bikes went in only to be told we had 10 minutes as the two women there had hosted a long lunch and were exhausted so couldn’t accommodate us any longer than that. It was about 4.35 by this point.
Disappointing, rude and I would assume not what the job description might have said.
Especially given we had planned to finish our day there before heading home the next day. It of course was then too late for us to ride to another more accomodating winery.
Needless to say the four of us will not be buying Katnook ever again, and had enjoyed such great wine tasting and service at other wineries on our trip, spent over a thousand dollars on wine to take home from Parker, Brands Laira and Wynns, had a great lunch at Ottelia and will be back again, but not to Katnook! So sorry we had to finish our fantastic trip on such a disappointing note. You would think when you have people visiting from not only all over Australia but also internationally you would be able to mange a wine tasting for four people as part of your day working in a winery.

We had been to Katnook years previously and really enjoyed the story of the winery, the wine etc. On this occassion the wine was just poured in our glasses and we were left to get on and taste. It was unlike most tasting experiences that we have been familiar with. The winery was very quiet so there was no real reasoning behind this.

Naomi was an incredible host as she took us through the Katnook range. It was so nice experiencing her hospitality for a second time after passing through the region 3 years ago. I’m usually a prodigy and odyssey buyer, however the founders block Merlot is drinking incredibly at the moment so I picked up some of them and a caldedonian blend from 2016 👌. Thanks Naomi!!

Wonderful company with an incredible heritage. Staffs are truly nice and proud of what they are doing make people like us for the very first time visiting feel so blessed and appreciate more of the wine industry in Australia. Long Lunch Today my friends & I attended a Long Lunch at the Katnook Estate Stables catered by St Bees.
The food was simply amazing which was enjoyed with Katnook's vast range of quality wines, everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Just wow! We swung past with doubt in our minds as being a larger group of 10 looking for something to not only quench our wine thirst but our famished bellies with fantastic cheeseboards. We tried our luck and much to our surprise we were blown away with the accomodating experience of the 2 women running the day in Katnook. As a skilled wine drinking clan travelling from the Barossa Valley we already have born and bred standards, but these ladies blowing away our minds with warm hospitality and amazing wine was the cherry on the top of our perfect day. Thank you katnook and the girls with the great hospitality.

Best of the wine tastings we visited We visited 6 wineries in the Coonawarra and after reviewing and pooling our opinions, Katnook was voted the best out of the 6 that we visited. The Tasting area is light and clean and the tastings are well handled by staff. There is a $15 tasting fee but this is refunded if 2 bottles of wine (per person) are puchased.

A group of 8 of us wandered in on a Wednesday morning. Naomi was behind the tasting counter and a superb ambassador for Katnook’s amazing range. The Prodigy and Odyssey were superb highlights. Lots of boxes now winging their way back to Melbourne. We’ll be back. Thank you!

Love their wine, bold and rich in flavor. Ah there's wine museum here as well 🍇

Lovely services from the ladies at the cellar door. Tasted 5 wines. Their top 2 (Odyssey and Prodigal) are very good and will improve with age. The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate wine was also very good. Highly recommend stopping by and trying them....

Had an exceptional tasting with Kathy. She was very knowledgeable of the wines in the Iconic Range. The wines were excellent and beautifully presented with great background information shared willingly. The property is lovely and with such history. A true gem! The tree on the property is magnificent.

Stopped in late in the afternoon. Greeted very warmly on a cool winters day. Fantastic tasting experience from an extremely knowledgeable and pleasant host. An impressive suite of selections were made available for a nominal charge that was waived with a purchase. Selections available were top notch. We travel the world and enjoy the wine tasting experiences. Katnook in Coonawarra is among the absolute best of the best.

Beautiful friendly staff, Andrea was amazing, informative and knowledgeable. Excellent quantity of wines on offer for tasting and such good quality too! So hard to make decisions on purchases because they're ALL so good! Thank you, and highly recommend a look in for tastings here!

Driving down the driveway when the vineyard is turning the shade of the sunset…
Arriving at the cute cellar door and being greeted by a lovely lady who was super attentive and full of knowledge about not only Katnook wines but the surrounding region.
We were able to try all the wines and were also made a beautiful cheese platter for our family.
All the wines were unique and delicious!

We have been travelling around Australia for 2 years and this would have have to be one the best experiences at a winery that we have had.

Our party of 6 shared a perfect afternoon tasting katnooks premium wines with a platter. The venue was perfect. Great space, mellow tunes, not too noisy to talk and hear. The glass ware fabulous and the wines divine. Our host Naomi was attentive, interesting and informative. We all had a very, very good afternoon. Thanks Naomi and jess. Highly recommended

Icon Wine Tasting We spent a fabulous couple of hours doing an icon red tasting. We felt welcomed the moment we entered the cellar door. We started with a tasting of the Sauvignon Blanc & Chardonnay.
We were then shown to the stables where our tasting & platters were all set up. It was sensational.
Naomi shared information about the winery and was really knowledgeable about the wines.
We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and all bought wines to enjoy at a later date.
We will certainly visit when next in the area.

Not worth a visit.. their icon wines are not available for tasting. The premium wines were average at best, nothing special. I am a wine professional, and the lady giving the tasting told us first thing she is actually a school teacher. The vibe was odd. She offered me to taste wine I was only interested in 2 of their wines (and the icons which I didn't get to taste). I wasn't impressed with her or the wines so after being there within 5 min I was gonna leave. Trying to walk out the door she says we charge $10 tasting fee!! Which was first of all not communicated since she offered the wine to taste. second, I only had 2 tiny tasting glasses. Everywhere else in the region, I tasted way more for free so it came unexpected. But all fine, I paid, but the way it all went down had us leaving with a very bad taste in our mouth. It's our least favourite visit in the region, not worth it, disappointing.

An absolute gem in Coonawarra! My family and I did the chocolate and wine tasting which came with 4 wonderful pairings. The wine and chocolate alone were great, but our guide/host, Naomi, made this an unforgettable experience. She was very welcoming, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to talk to. We can't wait to come back!

Katnook has been my spiritual home for Coonawarra Cab Sav after I was introduced to Odessey about 20 years ago and I have been a happy consumer ever since. It was amazing to finally get out to the winery in person and my wife and I had a sensational experience on Sunday 29th. Andrea was a wonderful host and made us feel so welcome. The wines and the local produce platter were amazing. As was finding some new drops to take home that I wasn’t previously aware of. We cannot wait to return

Great intro to Coonawarra Cabernet A fantastic introduction to Katnook wines via the Cabernet Experience. Our host was a delight, knowledgeable and passionate about the winery and its history. We ordered the cheese plate and it was the perfect accompaniment. We’ll worth the trip!

Sal was our hostess she had a great knowledge and association with the area, wines and history of the vineyard. We bought some beautiful reds to enjoy later at our accomodation with a fire. A fantastic place to mark on your trip plan.

Katnook Splendour Our experience at Katnook was simply amazing. Sally looked after us brilliantly and gave us a detailed explanation of the wines. Our platters were delicious and we certainly enjoyed these in the VIP room. This cellar door is not to be missed!

Good Went to try some of their wine with a friend. Their wines are good, and the highlight is trying their premium range, this does However, incur a cost if you don't purchase a bottle.

Katnook have an excellent Malbec, an uncommon variety in the Coonawarra which is more known for Cabernet Savignon & Shiraz. We enjoyed wine tasting with a cheese & bread platter, & a knowledgeable host.

A beautiful estate, well set up to cater for both the experienced and inexperienced wine taster. A non-intrusive and memorable experience. Big shout out to our host Kathy - for making our afternoon a pleasure!

Stopped here while driving through The region. The wine was good and we ended up purchasing as well. However, wouldn’t say we were welcomed with a smile. The lady seemed unfriendly and said there weren’t seats for children. Basically wanted us to leave the minute we stepped in. Good wines- poor hospitality!

Went there for paid wine testing experience. While arrangements were made nicely, but explaining each wine details were not good. Wine were poured beforehand rather than giving experience per wine flavour. Cheese platter was bad. Mentioned local cheese but was provided only one cheese. There was rush from staff to complete the testing quickly despite no other guest in queue. Overall very disappointed.

Visiting here on the way home from Mount Gambier to Adelaide. We love the sparkling white here. We ended up buying 3 bottles. The service was excellent. The lady who served us was very friendly made us to stay but we had to keep going to reach Adelaide. We will see you soon in the summer ????
