We had an amazing experience doing the beginner abseiling and canyoning course. (Juggler) Our guide, Sean, was extremely helpful, supportive, communicative, and professional throughout the entire day.
The whole experience was fun, well-organised, and unforgettable. We really appreciated Sean’s positive attitude and encouragement. We would be very happy to come back again for another adventure in the future!

We had an amazing canyoning adventure through the Claustral Canyon with Eagle Rock Adventures! Our guides Ken and James were very experienced and knowledgeable about the canyon and its environment and provided clear instructions on the more technical sections.

The trip itself exceeded our expectations and was definitely the highlight of our visit to the Blue Mountains due to the continuous stunning views that make you feel like you’re exploring an undiscovered jungle from several million years ago. Abseiling from multiple waterfalls into the canyon and several jumps added some additional adventure rush as well.

We strongly recommend this canyoning trip to other travellers seeking beautiful untouched nature along with some adventure. One point for caution though: it is indeed a strenuous trip that took us about 7-7.5 hours, so keep that in mind if you have doubts about your fitness.

Had an incredible day doing Butterbox Canyon with Eagle Rock Adventures.

It ended up just being my son and I on the trip, so we were lucky enough to get what felt like a private guided experience. Our guide Gemma was outstanding — friendly, calm and extremely professional.

Partway through the canyon we came across two independent canyoners who were stranded after bringing the wrong rope. Gemma safely managed us, helped them get moving again, and then prusiked back up to our position without fuss. It was seriously impressive to watch and showed real competence, not just guiding.

What stood out most was how relaxed and confident she made the whole day feel. No ego, no drama — just great judgement and communication.

My son works in rope access and we both walked away saying she’s one of the best operators we’ve seen.

We’ll be back for Claustral Canyon and would happily request her again.

We just completed our very first canyoning and abseiling session, and oh my God, it was so much fun!

Our guides, Indie and Tim, were absolutely exceptional. They explained everything patiently and made us feel completely safe and comfortable throughout the experience.

I have asthma, so the climb back up was a bit challenging for me. But Indie was incredibly supportive, she stayed with me, gave me time to catch my breath, and calmly talked me through every step of the way.

I’m so glad we decided to do this and chose this amazing team. It was truly an unforgettable experience!

Absolutely loved this experience! I went with a group of my friends and we all had a fun and exhilarating time. Our tour guides Indi & Leo were great and made us feel super comfortable and confident. They were also super fun tour guides! The tour itself was beautiful and we loved seeing and learning about the canyon we were exploring. We loved the jumps and abseiling down the waterfall. The two of them were very good with encouraging us to do our best, keep going and have fun whilst doing so! Definitely recommend if you are confident around water, love adventuring, and want to try something new!

We had such a great time doing the 3 hour Empress Falls canyouning tour. Our guides Beck and Sean were amazing. The scenery was breathtaking, the wetsuits warm and the abseil super fun! My 13 year old daughter and myself had a ball. The walk back out of the gully will warm you up if you are cold after the canyoning. Highly recommend!

An amazing sunrise kayak around Sydney Harbour with our tour guide James! His instructions were really clear and felt comfortable and safe the entire time even with a cruise ship docking! James had loads of historical information as we went around the harbour and answered all our questions. He made sure to spend time with everyone individually and get to know us all as well which was lovely.
He even got some amazing photos of us all in front of the opera house and harbour bridge

Shaun and Kai took us out to Butterbox Canyon last weekend and it was a fantastic experience. Those two are super passionate about what they do, love helping others experience abseiling and were so helpful in making everyone of all ability and comfort levels feel comfortable out there. The conditions were pretty challenging but the lunch was awesome!! They spoil you. Was so rewarding to challenge yourself. Can’t recommend them enough!

Fantastic experience highly recommend eagle rock adventures. Gemma was so informative, friendly and made our trip so much more fun. She had lots of knowledge of what we were doing but also on the area, and the indigenous history. The group were a lot smaller than the others so Gemma could take the time to really focus on getting our technique and gain our confidence. Overall it was an exceptional day and can’t wait to go back!

We had an amazing day playing in the mountains! Our guide Gemma was the best! I was pretty nervous but Gemma was so calming and I even completed all the abseiling with her help and calm approach. We did the Sydney Harbour Kayaking. The morning on the harbour was sensational. Our guide, James is a great guy and very knowledgeable. He made everyone feel at ease no matter what their experience levels. Everyone had a great time. Well worth doing.

Fantastic experience I booked a week-end canyoning trip so my boys could discover this activity.
We did the Empress Canyon on Saturday and Butterbox on Sunday.
Tim and Seth on Saturday were excellent, very friendly and professional. They made the introduction to canyoning easy and fun.
On Sunday our guide was Ryan. We were not sure if it would happen as the rain had been threatening.
It did happen and we had a fantastic time.
Ryan was great and a pleasure to spend few hours with.
He was also very knowledgeable about the environment, the fauna, the flora, which add to the experience.
A consummate professional, we always felt safe with him.
I couldn't recommend more Eagle Rock if you are planning an adventure trip in the Blue Mountains.

Absolutely amazing What a thrill! We did the combo abseil and canyoning and it was beyond expectations. Leo was our guide and he was patient and so good at explaining what to do. It felt safe but your adrenaline was pumping. 30m abseiling was a highlight and so was jumping off high rocks into the water. We were lucky that only my partner and I booked that time slot as it felt personalised and we Leo was happy to take photos for us. Highly recommended.

Did Empress Canyon with my partner today. Had a group of mixed experiences. Arno and Ken both did a fantastic job of helping everyone when they needed it while also making sure we had the time to stop and enjoy the surrounds. (Easy to get tunnel visioned on the next obstacle.)

They both had great knowledge of the area from the canyon to the environment and the geology and history of the area. Highly recommend this to anyone interested.

I went abseiliing and canyoning with Eagle Rock Adventures the activities were well planned and all gear was provided as advertised. Our guide Ryan was knowledgeable and communicated well which gave me the confidence to abseil although I had never done it before I will be going on future activities with Eagle Rock Adventures and recommending them to all my friends and family.

One of the best experiences in the Blue Mountains. Ryan was our guide, expert knowledge with a friendly and laughable approach. We hiked hrough some beautiful scenery on our way to the morning abseil location Narrow Neck Lookout. 5,15 and 30 metre abseil with expert directions from Ryan. After lunch we moved to the Express Canyon, such an amazing experience with Ryan guiding us through swims, rock slides and some big rock jumps.
The highlight was the 30m abseil down Empress Falls. Amazing views combined with heart pumping fun.

Ken and Arno (instructors) ensured we had a fabulous experience - especially patient with my 11-year-old son who conquered his fear of heights and managed to abseil 30m down Empress Falls. Highly recommend this company to other families with teenagers wanting a challenging fun day out. Ken shared his extensive local knowledge of the flora, fauna and geology of the Blue Mountains. Mum with 16, 13 & 11-year-old had just as much fun as the kids.

A day I won’t forget! It was truly an amazing experience and even though it took me the longest time to work up the courage to abseil, I did it! All thanks to our guides, Ryan and Sonya for being soo encouraging, helpful and patient with me. The canyoning was amazing, I am so proud of myself for doing 2/4 of the rock jumps. Safety was at the forefront of our guides minds the whole time and not at any time did I feel unsafe or uncomfortable. Definitely worth giving a go!

Incredible experience at Empress falls canyoning and abseiling with my wife and two 8 yr old boys. We were a little nervous about what lay ahead but Shaun and Bree were brilliant!

Myself and my family have done both the Sydney Harbour kayaking tour and the Blue Mountains kayaking and abseiling in the past week and both were absolutely amazing. The tour guides (James for Kayaking, and Arno and another lovely Australian gentleman who unfortunately I cant remember his name but he was so knowledgeable about the flowers and plants in the area and gave us an amazing guided tour on route to the canyon). The kayaking was leisurely and we got to get right up to the opera house and close to the harbour bridge for amazing photos taken by James. The abseiling setting was absolutely stunning, and the views were out of this world. The lunch on the trip was so so good! The canyoning was the perfect level for adventure lovers who haven't much experience of the activity, with plenty opportunities to jump in from heights and push yourself! Both amazing days where we made the best memories with family, cannot recommend this enough to everyone! Thank you Eagle Rock Adventures!

Absolutely amazing experience today. James was a great and knowledgeable guide. We all felt confident. Canyoning and Absailing. I would go again for sure! We all had SO much fun. Everyone participated in all parts and our youngest group member was 12!!! The lunch sandwich and coffee were also delicious. Would give 6* if I could and will tell everyone that shows interest in such activities (even if only remotely) ???? James took amazing photos and shared them right at the end of the tour. We went last weekend with a group of 10 friends and we had the most amazing time! Arnaud and Ryan were the best guides you could hope for, super nice, they know what they are doing, fun, and very knowledgeable about the fauna/flora and history of the place. We did the beginner abseiling and Empress canyon with 2 families- kids aged 7-9 years. Ryan and Leo were very professional and made us feel safe and we had an absolute blast! The day itself was unreal. We went for the Boar's Head Abseiling which was epic and awe striking and challenging and humbling all while being the amazing bonding experience my friend and I were hoping for.

After a great lunch we then began our canyoning experience. Again, because of recent weather we had to make small adjustments and by no means did they make any impact on our experience. Canyoning was unbelievable. Being able to immerse yourself in nature like this, while combining some adventure and excitement was beyond my expectations. I was not even done with the day and already planning for a future visit!

Although it was certainly not easy, it never felt scarier than a healthy respect for Mother Nature should make you feel.

This is where James was such an incredible guide and ambassador for canyoning itself, for his company and for himself. He combined the art of guiding and educating, with a great talent for fun and humor/wit while not once compromising on keeping us focussed on safety. He balanced these so well that I wish I could write a review for him personally. I have a lot of experience in this field and I cannot overstate how much he impressed me. At the end one feels that one has gained a lifelong memory of something so incredibly powerful, but also that you have gained a friend who was kind enough to introduce it to you. Truly above and beyond!

All in all, anyone wanting a life changing experience should look no further!

Exciting, once in a lifetime My partner and I booked a tour with Eagle Rock and travelled 3+ hours to Katoomba to meet Ryan What a great experience with such a knowledgeable tour guide every contact from booking the tour to the contact with James and meeting Ryan we were not disappointed.
The canyoning its self was unbelievable with Ryan's fantastic guidance and in-depth knowledge

Amazing experience I am 40 and my partner is 47, our fitness level is not great either. We did full abseiling (5m, 15m and 30m), canyoning to the empress fall, then abseiled down through the waterfall. It was the most challenging experience as it was raining on and off during the whole adventure. Our guides were Ryan and Lucas, they’re so passionate about what they’re doing and it wasn’t just an adventure, Ryan explained the history of the rainforest, showing the different type of leaves, the whole experience was so amazing. If the garden of Eden was real, this is it, the rainforest was breathtakingly beautiful. It was muddy, there were lots of stairs and rocks to climb, we were exhausted at the end, but I think if it was a clear weather, we wouldn’t be as tired. Overall it was an absolutely amazing experience.

A couple lost their go pro when abseiling down the waterfall. if you want to take your go pro, leave it inside your wetsuit when going down the waterfall, and you need proper clip to the helmet as you need to jump down to the water at least 3-4 times. Careful with the rocks, just walk slowly and enjoy the surroundings.

Safe, challenging and thrilling Leo and Pavlo were nothing short of amazing. They were professional and adaptable to situations while giving clear and concise instructions. They have a deep understanding of the environment and shared that knowledge with the group to help us appreciate the experience.

We did multiple rock jumps, canyon trekking and the piece de resistance was the 30m waterfall abseil.

Safety was kept at the top priority and never once did we feel unsafe. Kudos to Leo and Pavlo for taking care of the whole group.

Note to those trying the Empress Canyon route. Make sure you have a base level of fitness to fully enjoy the experience.
