Our kids lessons are structured so we have no more than 4 kids per instructor, the lessons are held in safe shallow water, and we do not have adults riding big boards in the class or near the kids in the water.  

We also separate our kids into safe age groups;

– Squids for ages 6-9 years  

– Kids for ages 10- 13 years

– Teens over 13years can join our adults classes just book in at the student rate.  

– Children under 6 years must do a private lesson so they have an instructror in the water with them the entire time. 

If your family would like to try out surfing together, we have family classes for participants 8 years and up and only adults who are surfing with their own kids are allowed to join. 

Surfing is such a great sport for all ages and these sessions are designed to give them a taste of surfing and hopefully they love it and want to come back for more. The Intro to surf session is the prerequisite to our Beginner surf programs and we cover the following: 

• Identify the parts of the surf board and equipment 

• Basic surf awareness 

• Recognise hazards in the surf such as rips 

• Learn the steps to standing on a board 

• Ride a broken wave in the white wash assisted by the instructor 

• How to fall off safely in the shallows
