Roger from Ambler Touring – More Than Just a Guide! We had a wonderful experience with Ambler Touring and especially with our guide, Roger. He is kind, helpful, and genuinely cares about making the journey special. Roger shared so much about Adelaide and Australia, and even went the extra mile to take us to places that were not originally on our itinerary. He also recommended great food spots and enriched our trip with his deep knowledge and experience.

Roger is a very sincere and professional person, and he made our time in Adelaide truly memorable. If we ever return, we would not hesitate to tour with him again and highly recommend Roger at Ambler Touring to anyone visiting Adelaide.

Flying solo on this trip to Adelaide, I really wanted to feel safe and relax. Roger surprised me when he informed me that I was his only client for the day sand he proved to me that he is a gentleman who looked after me and adjusted the tour to suit my tastes and interests.
Roger shared his knowledge of the Barossa and wine, which allowed me to look at wine from a different point of view and make better selections. For me, a highlight of the tour was our visit to Corryton Burge. Wow! What a beautiful place! The wines are just as beautiful. I had a wonderful day and I couldn't wait to tell my family what fun I had.

Worth Doing Roger Brock our extremely knowledgeable driver kept us amused right from pick up.
Our trip to the Barossa Valley was most enjoyable. We visited places I didn't know existed.
The wine tastings were well organised as was the chocolate factory. Lunch at Stockwell Hotel was great. Maggie Beers Farm was the highlight for me as well as the Last Drop Winery, home of Mothers Milk Shiraz.
Roger assisted in taking group photos and even agreed to be in some of them.
Even though I have been to the Barossa Valley many times this was still well worth doing.

Our day with Roger exploring Adelaide's wine regions was simply amazing! He's not just incredibly knowledgeable, but also offers such a sharp perspective on everything. We gained so much insight, and are especially grateful for his patience and extra care with us wine beginners. We're already looking forward to our next Adelaide adventure with Roger!

Exceptional My husband and I recently did the Coorong Half DayCruise/ Fleurieu Peninsula Transfer and Tour with Ambler. Roger went out of his way and made extra stops along the route to show us this beautiful peninsula.We enjoyed his amicable informative nature so much that we made another booking for a private tour of Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale which was a fantastic day.Roger tailor made an itinerary to suit our interests and did not pressure us to rush the day.Perfect! Great Winery Tours We had an amazing experience with Roger as our driver for a private wine tour across Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley over two days. We were a group of 8 ladies celebrating our 50th birthdays, and Roger made the whole experience seamless and stress-free.

He was fantastic with communication in the lead-up, helping to plan our itinerary and ensuring the timing at each venue ran smoothly. Roger was punctual, professional, and very knowledgeable about the regions.

We had the Best Day Touring with Rodger from Ambler touring. He was amazing took us to a Coffee, and Chocolate shoppe that was to die for. Mount Lofty to see the view of Adelaide City. Amazing, Nepenthe Vineyards, lunch in Hahndorph, and a walk around the town, then The Prancing pony Brewery. Then Rodger drove us all around Adelaide City and Neighbouring towns to see the Heritage housing. What a fabulous Day. Thank you Rodger

Fantastic Barossa Tour Roger was friendly and knowledgeable and all round a great guide. The tour was fully customisable and Roger worked with me to visit the kinds of places I wanted to see without feeling rushed. I would definitely use Ambler Touring again.

A marvellous day out Roger was extremely knowledgable and made sure that not only did we do all the things we said we wanted to do, but that we learned more about the families, the region and the history. The only thing I'd change if we were doing it again (and we'll probably do it again!) Is that I would have asked Roger to just take us to all the places he thought were best - since all the places he took us were amazing!

Ambler Touring were fantastic. Roger was so knowledgeable and made the experience perfect. He took us places to suite our interests and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We would highly recommend using them and we will be calling them when we come back down.

All A Bit Artificial Hahndorf is a bit odd as a place. It's half real and half artificial, catering more for tourists than for locals. There's a lot of German-themed pubs, food places and shops here, but it feels a bit as if they're trying a bit too hard. It doesn't feel very genuine as you walk up and down the main drag.

There is not a better way to see Adelaide than with Ambler Touring. Knowledgeable and able to take you to hidden gems no matter what you're interested in.

We spend 4 days with Roger in McLaren Vale as a group of 8. At various times he accommodated groups of 2, 4, 6 and 8 with different vehicles and at all times of the day from 8am to 11pm. Super flexible with arrangements, free water and many extras. He is a encyclopaedia of knowledge on South Australian wines and the McLaren Vale area. So many great tips and experiences. Would highly recommend Roger and his team for any South Australian wine region experiences.

Memorable Highly recommend Roger. Tour to Coorong was memorable. Best part though are his stories and his willingness to adapt to the interests of his clients. After the Coorong tour, we contacted Roger to ask if he was free for a 4-5 hour trip to the Adelaide Hills. Fortunately, he was, and because we'd already spent time with us, he knew what we enjoyed seeing and doing. Another lovely day.

Booked a custom private tour with Roger through Adelaide hills - Fleurieu peninsula and then up through the coast back to Adelaide. We explored the major attractions, historic sites/buildings, beaches, restaurants, winery regions. Well worth a visit Regular public buses from Adelaide, takes 40mins. Relatively small village but plenty of small shops and restaurants/ pubs allowing the visitor to experience the history and enjoy German hospitality.

Roger was so helpful in setting up our own unique experience. Added in hidden little gems we would never have known about and was very friendly and went the extra mile all day. Highly recommend contacting Roger.

Highly recommend! We were a party of 6 looking for a private tour in the Adelaide Hills with wine tasting and sightseeing. Roger from Ambler Touring came up with a flexible plan for the day so we could tweak the tour prior to the day. Communication was excellent. He booked everything from the tastings to meals and provided us with a wealth of information and history along the way. He also provided us with ideas of what to do and see on the rest of our trip and we were not disappointed. We spent a wonderful day in the Adelaide HIlls with Roger, who showed us many sites of natural beauty and historical interest, as well as delivering us to some stunning wineries and a great restaurant for lunch. He is very knowledgeable on the history of the founding of Adelaide and South Australia, and has lots of interesting and amusing anecdotes to keep you entertained during the drives. We did a Winery and Farm Tour and Dianne was our guide, she was so friendly and accommodating and made our day so pleasant. There was a rough itinerary planned for us that our Family had organised as a surprise birthday gift and it was no problem to change a few of our destinations as we toured the Barossa Region. I wanted to explore the region around Adelaide during my recent visit to South Australia. Luckily I selected Ambler Touring for my customized day trip through the Adelaide Hills. Roger, who organized and led the visit, is a South Australia native with so much personal experience and local knowledge to impart. We started with a hotel pickup and headed first for Stirling, a lovely community with great local produce and product sellers. I opted for the chocolate experience at Red Cacao, which is a lovely spot popular with locals and full of delicious treats. We continued to Cleland Wildlife Park in Craters; you will thank yourself for time spent here, particularly if you’re at all interested in the unique fauna. We fed some of the small marsupials, and I was able to do a meet and greet with a koala. It’s a beautiful place and so special for someone from outside Australia. We even spotted some animals in the wild - sort of a bucket list item for me! Roger imparted tons of local history, showing some of the beautiful estates (many converted to inns) and selecting a great Aussie pub for the lunch (included in the tour package I selected). We visited the picturesque Hahndorf, where I had some time to explore shops on my own before taking the scenic route through the eastern suburbs of Adelaide. Roger gave me some other Adelaide highlights and tons of recommendations for other trips to take in the future on another trip to Australia. It was a great value - highly personalized and stress-free (no driving or navigating needed on my part). Please do consider visiting the Adelaide Hills if your plans call for a trip to the South Australian capital.

Adelaide and about Roger was great to deal with by phone in picking our first tour , to Murray River and lunch cruise with several stops there and back . We were picked up by Di our chauffeur and guide who explained all the localities we visited , she was prepared to stop anywhere we wanted to ( only us on tour ) and suggested places that she felt would suit our interests . We booked a second day trip , again just 2 of us to the coast with an excellent lunch at Flying Fish restaurant and a first class winery tasting at Olivers Taranga ( McLaren Vale 0 , a look at the Dali sculptures at D'Arenberg and other stops suiting our interests.
Modern , very comfortable vehicles that made for two excellent days out.

Great day trip, would HIGHLY recommend! We recently had the pleasure of experiencing a private wine tour in the beautiful Barossa Valley with Di from Ambler Touring. We were provided with a number of great recommendations but were able
to fully customise our itinerary. We chose to visit a diverse selection of wineries inbcluding Yaldara, Yalumba, Rusden and Seppeltsfield Road Distillers, allowing us to appreciate the different styles and nuances of Barossa Valley wines, as well as a stop at the Maggie Beer Farm for lunch, and a number of lookouts and points of interest in the region.

Our lovely guide Di had an expert knowledge of the local area, and made this tour an unforgettable experience. We were not only treated to an array of outstanding wines but also given insights into the region's unique history and culture. Di's attention to detail and warm, friendly demeanor made us feel well looked after, and she ensured we had a fantastic and memorable day out. She even bought us cookies!

Our tour in the Barossa Valley was an absolute delight and we would happily book with Ambler again to try some of the venues we missed. We recently came back from a 3 day trip to Mount Gambier & 1 Day Trip down to Victor Harbour Region, after 2 successful day trips in the past (1x Barossa Valley region, 1x Murraylands & Coorong region). We had an exceptional day out on an all day tour of the McLaren Vale region with Roger from Ambler Touring. We found Roger to not only be a highly knowledgeable guide, he was also great company. Although we had a pre-set itinerary, Roger was highly flexible with the tour arrangements on the day and after speaking with my partner and I as to our preferences, made a few subtle changes to the list of venues to better match them with our interests. Roger absolutely nailed it in this regard, starting with a local cafe for coffee, D'Arenberg Cube for a tour and tasting, Agostino for lunch, Goodieson Brewery, Settlers Spirits and Samuel's Gorge to finish. We loved them all and are already planning to go back. Roger was highly generous with both his hospitality and time (we returned to our accommodation 90 minutes past schedule)! If you're contemplating a tour to any of SA's wine regions, then you can't go past Roger at Ambler Touring.
