When you make your booking please include any special requests, as well as where you would like the tour to start from (pickup available from any city location — we’ll use public transport to navigate through the city).

We will happily pickup meet you from any city centre location to begin the experience.
Should you be arriving on a cruise we do offer an additional service to escort you from the cruise terminal via public transport to the Downtown/Centre City/ CBD. Please note this will add on 30 minutes to your 3 hour experience and is an additional cost of $150 AUD. We can alternatively provide details on how to reach our preferred start point via public transport from the Port terminal should you wish to make your own way to the city.

Good Tour; Guide Needed Better Time Management We took this tour in January with tour guide Ian. We enjoyed learning about Melbourne and seeing areas that we likely would not have found or understood well without having been on the tour. Overall, the tour was enjoyable. What would have made it a 5 star tour instead of a 3 star tour would be better time management from Ian. Despite leaving early, we were over time by a fair margin because Ian spent more time than was necessary at some stops, particularly talking about things that we weren't actually seeing. I'd encourage him to briefly mention that some items not on the tour would be worth investigating on our own without spending 5-10 minutes talking about them, as it added up and resulted in a missed stop. Some participants couldn't finish the tour with the beverage due to flights or other commitments. Ian was friendly and well-intended, but just too long-winded. Perhaps a timer on his phone or other 'cue' to move on would help keep him on schedule.read moreread less

This tour exceeded our expections. We thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour of Melbourne with our guide Mike. We learned about the history of Melbourne, visited the must see lanes and arcades and iconic locations. We were introduced to Magic, Melbourne's own version of a cappuccino and had a beer at Melville, Melbourne's oldest pub. In addition he set up a group app to provide us with a map of our tour, a picture of our group and links to other tours. We were so delighted with his tour, that we booked Night Bites through the same company. Whether you are here for 1 day or many, this tour is a great introduction to Melbourne.

What a way to see some of the hidden gems, Melbournes lane ways have to offer. Every bar we went too was intriguing and had a drink for every taste. Ian our tour guide was full of knowledge on drinks & the history of Melbourne. Clearly loves his job and we would recommend this tour to everyone! We had a ball. Cheers!

We went on a pub tour with mates and strangers who soon became mates, and I'm pretty sure we single-handedly kept the cocktail industry in business for another year. Whiskey was involved, and by 'involved,' I mean it was very involved. Highlights included me attempting to do shots, Hugo telling us many skeleton jokes and us all trying to figure out what happened between the second and fifth bar.
The cocktails were fancy, the whiskey was smooth, and the memories are... well, let's just say we're still piecing together the night. Can't wait to do it all again (or at least, try to remember it). Cheers to the best pub tour ever! 🍸🥃😂"

I started with the bar tour, with Emily. Amazing experience. She's extremely knowledgeable about Melbourne - of course, a natives - and passionate about rhe history and culture of the city. This is not a tour; this is a history and culture class. Also, a great opportunity to make new friend, and try a few drinks not found anywhere else. I strongly recommend it if you are into culture, beers, and drinks. Then 2 days later I did the complete tour, focused on the history, and I got what I wanted: 3 hours of an immersion into the Melbournian history, visiting great locations, learning about the best spots. Should you do both? Yes, for sure! Two totally different experiences!

I’m from Beijing, China, and the other four visitors in my group were from the US and Canada. Even though I’m not a native English speaker, Ian made sure I was always part of the conversation. He patiently explained everything, checked that I understood, and made me feel completely included.
Listening to Ian was like attending a fun and inspiring Australian history class. His passion and knowledge brought Melbourne’s landmarks — from The Hotel Windsor and Parliament House to Flinders Street Station and Chinatown — vividly to life.
It was also my first time appreciating Melbourne’s laneway art, and I was amazed to learn that the famous Banksy had left his work here too! Ian even introduced us to Melbourne’s coffee culture and treated us to a “magical coffee,” which was such a delightful touch.
Overall, this was an amazing and memorable tour. Ian is knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely cares about his guests. Highly recommended!

Great family adventure for our staycation in the city Ian was a great tour guide who set a good pacee for a mixed group of people - he got my 11 and 9 year old interested in their own city and they are still talking about Ned Kelly and debating if he was a hero or villain and the 3-year-old who got put in old Melbourne gaol! It was a great three hours with the small group, and Emily was a very friendly and knowledgeable guide who clearly showed how passionate she is about her home town. We got to see and experience some very pertinent places that shaped Melbourne's history. Fair bit of walking at a steady pace, so wear comfy shoes, but I would definitely recommend this tour for sure!

We found this walking tour online and it had incredible reviews. We have been on walking tours before so we were intrigued to see how this one would compare. We were far from disappointed. Hugo, our tour guide, is truly passionate about his beloved city of Melbourne. He was full of trivia and proudly showed our group areas we would not find on our own. The museums and Lane Ways are truly unique to Melbourne and those alone made the walking tour awesome. Adding on the coffee shops and explaining the coffee culture was a great value added. We recommend this tour to start your visit so you can plan around what you see. This was one of the best walking tours we have been on.

Best walking tour I have ever done Hugo did a great job in guiding us around the cultural highlights of central Melbourne. There is a great balance of must see locations as well as more quirky stuff not in the guide books. Hugo was an enthusiastic host. The night I booked, I was the only person - Hugo kindly offered me the following day with a group, a refund or a unique private tour. Due to schedule, I was unable to rebook so went for the personal tour.
Hugo was very knowledgeable and great company for the evening. He tailored the tour so l had the best experience ever. We were welcomed at all restaurants and bars visited which enriched the evening.
At the end of the evening, Hugo marked off all the places we'd visited on a map so I was able to return at my leisure.
This tour is a definite must whilst in Melbourne and my favourite one of them all. Thank you

We had a fantastic experience on the Melbourne Night Bites tour with Simon. What makes this tour unique is that it changes based on the day of the week, time of year, and even the taste of the guests on the tour. It’s not the same boilerplate experience every time. Simon took us to a variety of spots around Melbourne’s CBD, including a unique Indian snack, a full-blown Peking duck experience, and Japanese gelato for dessert. We did this on the last night of our trip but would recommend doing it earlier so you can put your new knowledge of Melbourne to good use.

My wife and I joined Depot’s 3 hour CBD tour a couple days ago with our guide Denille. It was a great tour to explore Melbourne’s Central Business District. It was a great combination of history, architecture and culture - it was a perfect package in 3 hours. The laneways are so cool. Danielle was friendly and knowledgeable. It provides some historical background with wonderfully told stories, a chance to see the main sights, and perhaps the best part is a taste at some hidden treasures that we wouldn't have found otherwise. We took the "Complete Melbourne Walking Tour" of the CDB. I had high hopes for the tour to get some history of some of the older buildings that have some amazing architecture. The tour included a coffee stop and then later a beer stop.
The reality of the tour was that we basically did a speed walk in order to keep up with our tour guide. The guide even got peeved with me for stopping to try and get some photos.
The coffee stop only offered only two types of coffee and no food option. And then at the end of the tour when we stopped at the pub, the only beer option included was a lager. If we wanted anything different it was on us to purchase it.

The best city to visit! As a first time visitor to this lovely city I fell in love with everything. Our accommodation in Little Bourke Street was centrally located to the city. I loved that the trams inside the CBD designated area were free - hop on or off whenever, I loved the Royal Arcade and the Block Arcade with their unique shops and fabulous all day dining. I loved the little laneways full of Al fresco dining opportunities. I loved the family atmosphere during the evening when lots of people gathered to see the Christmas light show at Southbank. The walks along the rivers edge were well marked, the parks and gardens in the CBD were picturesque and well looked after. I loved the markets, good bargains.read moreread less

Tour is just OK I was disappointed in the walking tour. Unfortunately I do not remember the name of the tour guide. She did take us around Melbourne City Center but I had no idea where I was should I wish to get back there and she did not tell us much about what we were seeing except for the laneways. We did enter one building, the Library and that was quite interesting. She also did provide background information on the history of Australia at the very start of the tour and that was quite informative. However, the tour runs from 11:00 -2:00. It provides a very small cup of take out coffee after about one hour and then drops you a pub at 2:00 where it provides a small glass of beer or a soft drink where you can purchase a very mediocre meal. As the tour is over lunch time I think it should provide lunch at a good traditional restaurant and forget the take out coffee and beer. I would not recommend this tour.read moreread less
