Anlaby Station is such a great spot! Beautiful buildings and gardens. The peacocks are a treat! Service was great. Would recommend for how relaxing and gorgeous it was.

Spring open day was a delight- from the tour guides and flower beds to the historic atmosphere and local pop-up vendors

I’m very disappointed with the lack of communication from the Anlaby team as I have been trying to reach them for almost 2 weeks without success. I have been trying to get in touch via Trybooking, Messager, phone (which is not connected), and email to inform them that we wish to attend the upcoming 2025 Spring Festival on a different day. I was so looking forward to attend this year’s event but this experience has really put a damper on my willingness to take part in it. 😔

I was only on a day trip

We stayed in the manor house for a night with our little kids and it was lovely. It was a cold night but you wouldn’t haven known from inside. The ducted a/c was more than enough to keep us really warm overnight.

Breakfast provisions were bacon and eggs, milk, butter, Vegemite, tea and coffee, and appliances to cook with, which was more than we expected.

The beds were comfy, and the lounge was nice and cozy to hang out in.

We didn’t have phone service in the area but the wifi was good.

The gardens were lovely to walk around and a friendly dog appeared to join us for the walk and game of fetch.

Would definitely stay here again, especially in the spring when the gardens would look their best.

Anlaby has been on the bucket list for so long, and it surpassed expectations. Thank you to Peter and Andrew for your care of this amazing place and for sharing it with us.

What a lovely morning we had, exploring the beautiful established gardens and old buildings plus the elegant Anlaby house full of antiques and history. All under the guidance of the knowledgeable owners Peter and Andrew. Not to mention the delicious Devonshire tea with gluten free available. Thankyou. We recommend this thoroughly.

Only visited for a look as our parents worked there. The owner's are doing a magnificent job in restoring it to its former glory.
It is steeped in history and well worth the visit or stay there.

Inspiring place to visit and stay Inspiring place full of history. The house tour is a must, the house is so beautiful. You can stroll in the garden and enjoy the sound of birds while enjoying the views.
Accomodation is top notch, very luxurious and relaxing.

We did the house and garden tour with devonshire tea. The tour was fantastic and very well done. The house was more amazing than I imagined as it has been decorated beautifully with stunning antiques. The gardens are lovely and there is an amazing array of irises in Spring which is very nice to see. Nice little artistic touches around the house and gardens too. Definitely worth the visit.

What a wonderful place Anlaby Station is! After spending a couple of nights there last week, we can well understand how Anlaby's distinguished history and former grandeur (but not showy!) could have driven the current owners to embark on such an ambitious restoration project over the past 20 years. [Not that we would have had the energy or the wherewithal to accomplish what they have done!) It is superb! Briefly, our accommodation (in the Gardener's Cottage) was delightful, the 2 course home-cooked dinner was delicious, and Peter's tour of the house and gardens (an add-on) was both informative and entertaining - helped along by the Devonshire Tea in the middle of course! Thanks Andrew, Jo and I loved our stay, and it was a wonderful break from the wineries!

There are no words to express how extremely beautiful, relaxing and charming place Anlaby Station is. The owners are incredibly friendly, helpful and hospitable. The accommodation absolutely exceeded our expectations. We received Gardener’s Cottage - way above our needs! Interior design refined in every detail. Beautiful, comfortable, stylish rooms. Magnificent scent everywhere. The kitchen is fully equipped. The owners cook delicious home-made food. A spectacular garden surrounds the houses. The entire estate is jaw-dropping!
If you want to spend a few days near the Barossa Valley, Annlaby Station is more than the best choice. One of the best places we have ever been to.

Rustic on the outside… idyllic on the inside. This review is very specifically about the cottage we stayed in and is not meant to comment on anything else about Anlaby Station (gardens/house/tours/teas etc).

The Coachman’s Cottage was perfectly suited to our two couple getaway - plenty of space for four. And, wait for it, they permitted a ONE NIGHT STAY I’m still floating around in disbelieving euphoria about this!!! Thank you Andrew and Peter for allowing us to have a special little jaunt out of Adelaide without the painful two night stay restriction that everywhere else imposes. If only there were more of you sensible people!!!! We won’t hesitate to come back some time.

The cottage is extremely tastefully renovated and decorated, and beautifully clean and sweet-smelling given the gorgeous room fragrance - just a perfect blend of history with modern calm and comfort. They had thought of everything. The only thing we can say is that maybe a few more coasters wouldn’t go astray - we were ever-conscious of wanting to protect the lovely furnishings!! It’s also a wonder I ever got out of that divine bath tub .so lovely ..and the Vasse Virgin products were a beautiful local treat. Likewise the bacon .if it was local it was amazing local produce .well, it was amazing regardless!!!

We wanted to cook our own bbq dinner and they kindly ensured a bbq was availableon the back patio ready and waiting!! It was the perfect top quality ‘rural’ environs in which to indulge in top quality meats and red wines. If only every Saturday night bbq could be spent at Anlaby Station!!

conditional comfort I know its historic and yes, the gardens are great, but We have never seen bugs like it! And how has no-one killed themselves lugging bags up those stairs in Manor House! Nice enough if you are OK with cobwebs

Fantastic Venue and accommodation for a wedding What a wonderful location for a wedding ! My daughter was married on Anlaby Station last week and they could not have picked a more wonderful location. Andrew & Peter took care of all the guests so well and the venue , gardens and accommodation were all outstanding - not to mention the food - that was exceptional. We stayed in the Gardeners Cottage that had recently been renovated and it was comfortable and had all the extras needed for family and friends to get ready for a wedding. Hosting 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Can't thank Andrew and Peter enough for making my daughters wedding such a truly
magical and fabulous day !

We spent a luxurious 4 nights stay at the Garderners Cottage. It was such a special time with the huge gardens in full bloom. The cottage had everything we needed, and more. The beds were extremely comfortable, the rain showers were heavenly, and we loved reading with a small glass of Port at the end of each day. The breakfast provisions restocked daily was very generous, and the kitchen had everything including espresso machine.
You are encouraged to roam around the gardens, and are greeted by such kind and passionate staff. We had to buy the Anlaby infusers to remember our stay as the smells were so nice in the cottage.
The history is fascinating and it was so special looking out and seeing the manor. The entire stay was an experience that we have really cherished. Very grateful to all the work the owners and staff are undertaking to keep this beautiful piece of South Australian history alive and accessible.

WOW, what an amazing experience!!!
Not only are the cottages very well appointed for a comfortable stay, but plenty thoughtful touches and luxury. The Anlaby Station grounds are indeed a sight to behold. We've spent hours wandering them with every time revealing new aspects and beauty.
We highly recommend the tour and Devonshire tea to complete the experience, well worth the cost. An amazing insight into early life in our state and former opulence, a privilege to be allowed through the homestead.
Anlaby Station is a credit to Andrew, Peter and their team and we will definitely return yearly to witness their progress on this amazing project.

My husband and I shared our Wedding day and night at Anlaby Station and it was perfect. Not only did we have our Wedding at Anlaby Station, but we also got engaged at their beautiful premises, thus it holds a very special place in our hearts. Communicating our thoughts for our Wedding with Andrew from the beginning was a smooth process, and on the day everything turned out well. It is a stunning grounds, which we and all of our guests loved. With it being an amazing garden meant that our guests could tour themselves around in between our Ceremony and Reception, and they all loved it. Our photos turned out to be amazing because of the natural beauty of our surroundings. The Reception space was also perfect and cosy. My husband and I spent our Wedding night in one of the BNBs which was incredible. All of the cottages have fabulous facilities - we never wanted to leave! We cannot thank the Anlaby Station team enough for their astounding work.

At first I thought @ $65 a head we were going to the most expensive Devonshire tea ever. At the end of the tour we agreed it was worth every cent. The grounds and the history were brought to life by a wonderful young historian tour guide. Well done.

A truly magic place. Peter and Andrew are the ultimate hosts. The rooms are beautifully old world and ultra cosy. The in house roast was the best we’d ever had. And so much history! Such an interesting place too. Not to mention the gorgeous merino! I could go on but you just need to go and see for yourself.

It was a few years ago that I was at Anlaby Station and If I recall, the owner had just purchased it. We had a limited tour of the huge house and were able to access the garden independently. There are many historic farm buildings practically next to the main house and a shop selling luxury items. The paths are all dirt / gravel around the house and buildings. Accommodation is also available.

We had the pleasure of visiting Anlaby Station on the Sunday Open Day, 2022. It was a delightful experience. It was a well organised event, with ample parking and a range of interesting market stalls. The gardens and buildings were beautifully restored and maintained. A credit to the determination of the owners and the skills of the staff.

The most glorious estate with luxury accommodation and beautiful hospitality. Gorgeous 3 bedroom cottage with renovated bathrooms, luxury linen, super comfy beds and many little touches like fresh fruit, flowers, wine selection, and nespresso coffee machine.
Walk around the sumptuous gardens for hours and stummble across peacocks, rose garden, shade houses, origional 1820's stables, and so much more. The most beautiful B&B I've stayed in Australia. Thankyou to our hosts Andrew and Peter. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We attended the open garden day. The quality of hand crafted giftware, was of outstanding quality. Being able be up close & personal with the draft horses was amazing. Devonshire tea was very over priced, scones were dry and only 1 small pot of jam & cream between 3 adults. The gardens were magnificent & tour informative, a stunning property

A weekend stay with a large group. From the moment you arrived you felt welcomed, nothing was too much trouble. We were there to celebrate a friends birthday so all the accomodation was booked for the festivities. The accomodation we stayed in was the ensuite room in the gardeners cottage. It was clean, well presented and comfortable. The facilities of two lounges and kitchen had everything you needed for a weekend stay. There were two other bedrooms with two separate bathrooms. The other accomodation options were a two bedroom cottage both with ensuites and an open planned lounge kitchen. Both these cottages were single level and had back yard with seating facilites. The third cottage , the manor house had two double bedrooms and one twin room on the upper level with bathroom, kitchen and lounge downstairs. The stairs in this house were quite steep, so if mobility issues or a little older then the other cottages would be the option. All accomodation had provisions for a cooked breakfast, cereal and orange juice and a coffee machine.
We were given a tour of the historic house by one of the owners. He and his partner are lovingly restoring the house while residing there. Worth having a look if it’s available. We also had a tour of the garden which they are also maintaining and restoring. On one evening we had a dinner in the stables, the catering was good, decided by our birthday girl, I know they do provide meals, to the room, if requested.
There is also a gift shop on site with beautiful Marino products from their farm, along with other treasured items.
Well worth the visit.

Unique opportunity, highly recommend Highly recommend a visit to Anlaby Station, we stayed two nights and enjoyed the impressive gardens and history of this amazing property. Welcoming hosts and quality accommodation. I wasn't sure if the property would be suitable for children but Miss 5yrs and Miss 8yrs had a wonderful time exploring the 'secret' gardens, debating what was stored within the antique safe and playing endless games of fetch with the hosts dog. I know they will remember this experience for many years to come.

We recommend the visit especially if you have an EV (Electric Vehicle) ???? We stumbled across Anlaby and chose to stay in the Gardener's Cottage. Turns out the property is like a Botanical Garden and is home to the largest collection of significant trees on the National Trust register in Australia! It's a beautiful place to explore and admire.

I just assumed my 3rd hand EV wouldn't make the trip (nearly 100km each way from Adelaide and her range is 120km) and there wouldn't be a place to charge at the property and didn't want to "bother them" asking if I could bring my charger and extension cords. The property isn't/wasn't on car charging PlugShare app. But there IS a new charging station and they said it's only just gone in which is why they haven't updated their website They applied for a tourism infrastructure grant which partly paid for the solar panels and battery too

The Gardener's Cottage is great for a couple, two to three couples, a family or small family and grandparents, a group of friends, or a mix!

Wonderful large classic garden oasis 90 minutes North of Adelaide. The garden has had lots of love recently. The open garden weekend appeared quite successful.

Brilliant few hrs tour of the beautiful house and gardens. Such a beautiful place and setting. The owners and tour guides were very knowledgeable and understandably proud at what they have achieved. Morning tea was lovely and gift shop very reasonably priced. We would highly recommend. Two teenagers thoroughly enjoyed it too.

Part of Australia’s history We spent one night at Anlaby. The accommodation was great . The country kitchen met our needs. The welcome from Michelle and her hospitality was excellent. The tour of the house was very informative. A unique part of Australia’s history I was unaware of.

Perfect day out We visited Anlaby Station for a 30th birthday over the weekend. The day started with a comprehensive tour of the gardens and surrounds. Michelle our guide was lovely, accomodating and very informative. We loved walking through the beautiful gardens and learning about the interesting history. This was followed by a simple but tasty lunch. We then wandered through the homesteads with Michelle which was once again interesting and beautiful. What a great day out. Thank you Anlaby team!
