It took us to places we couldn't have accessed ourselves. Ryan and Mick shared bucket loads of unique local information to us as they took us to sites they know well. We sighted animals and plants we wouldn't have spotted without them. We took photos. They named and described the animals, fungi, plants we saw, gave us geological and historical information also. In three and a half hours, we were able to gather a comprehensive overview of the captivating Cape Naturaliste area.
And we were given a surprise too.
Friendly, genuine, and generous guides. And very professional.
Our guide, Mike, was incredibly knowledgeable and clearly very familiar with the local environment and wildlife habitats. He made the tour engaging and memorable by encouraging us to interact with the animals whenever possible.
We were truly delighted by this unique experience and so glad we joined this tour. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip!
The torch-lit bush walk added an element of adventure while also allowing us to learn about the local flora, fungi, and even spiders along the way. Reaching the open clearing for stargazing was magical. We were incredibly fortunate to witness a meteor streak across the night sky, which made the experience feel truly heavenly. Seeing the Milky Way and learning about the Southern Cross added to the wonder of the evening.
The guides were patient, knowledgeable, and generous with their explanations throughout the tour. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and my son especially had a delightful and educational time. Highly recommend!!
This was my second time doing the nocturnal tour with South West Eco Discoveries, and honestly it felt like my first time all over again. Every tour is such a unique experience and I learnt so much about the bush, star constellations, arachnids, and marsupials — and even got to pat a few 😊
A special mention to our tour guide Ryan, who was absolutely fantastic. His professionalism, knowledge, and passion for the environment really stood out. He made everyone feel safe and confident navigating through the bush at night, while still keeping the tour engaging, educational, and fun.
Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting the South West. It’s such a beautiful way to connect with nature and appreciate the incredible wildlife. A wonderful family-owned business that truly strives to give you a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Our guide, Ryan, met us at the port and dropped us back there afterwards.
Our tour included a platter of local nibbles and drinks too at about the midway point. Very nice touch and all the local cheeses, honey, and nibbles were delicious!
As for the guided tour, it was awesome.
We have travelled the world over and have had many tour guides along our adventures, Ryan was honestly the most informative, interesting, thoughtful, and add to that he has a great sense of humour!
Along the drive to our first hike, Ryan provided us with a great narrative of the local area and people. Our short hike through the bush let us see many interesting sights and learn how historically the aborigines used the different plants for medicinal purposes and making fire.
Our second hike was longer, the Cape to Cape trek provided us with amazing vistas and photo-ops of the beautiful sand beaches. It was midday so we didn’t see much in the way of reptiles, but the variety of birds were plentiful.
We stopped at several view points along the coast for pics before heading to the “Kangaroo Safari” portion of the trip.
Ryan took us to a local golf course that has essentially been taken over by the bouncing wonders. Tee to green, the kangaroos ruled the fairways!
We were able to get out and take some great shots of a wild mob grazing in the local schoolyard, a sight we don’t see everyday back in Canada.
Along the drive back to the port, Ryan shared a video relating to the eco efforts being taken to preserve the great outdoors and oceans.
Well done Ryan, fabulous trip!
Thank you!
The local produce that we got to taste was amazing and should not be missed!
Seriously, if you have a short stay in Busselton (eg. Tour ship stop, quick weekend WA visit), this should be the only activity you book! Well worth it and true value for money!
Well done Ryan and the whole team and manu thanks for a memorable experience!!

This experience is one to die for.
I would recommend this tour to anybody that is at all curious about Australian Wildlife and environment.
Thank you Mick and Ryan for an unsurpassed tour !
Both Ryan and Mick are so knowledgeable about the region, the nature, plants, animals and are absolute fabulous company for the 5.5 hrs tour we booked. The 9seater minibus is super comfortable, new model and we felt absolutely safe and comfy.
Ryan explained plants to us, walked with us a stretch of the Cape Naturaliste National Park. We stopped at two amazing wineries (Cape Naturaliste Vineyard and Will's Domaine in Yallingup) before visiting Vasse Virgin/Margaret River for olive oil.
On the way back to Busselton we had an extra stop for kangaroos.
Thanks a million guys!
We will spread the word wherever possible!
Regards from Kirstin, Wiebke and Jutta
We were picked up and dropped off at our holiday home too. This was a surprise for my birthday and it was a fab experience.
We started with a brief walk to a small clearing in the forest. Along the way Ryan described some of the trees and bushes. Upon arriving at the clearing this is where the real magic began. There are no guarantees as to which animals will come and see you here but we were really very lucky with Bandicoots and around a dozen Kangaroos joining us - it was amazing!
We then carried on deeper into the forest were we looked at other vegetation and hunted for various spiders. Ryan was also able to point of many star constellations as we walked too.
It was a truly wonderful night and is something neither myself or my wife will ever forget.
Great and knowledgeable people who run the experience who are passionate and fun to talk to.
Highly recommend!

The stargazing experience was incredible too.
Overall, it was a fun and memorable experience.
Well organised, presented and Ryan's lnowledge of the area is second to none.
