Recommend this experience to cruise the Port River Overall a peaceful ride along the port river. managed to be lucky and spot dolphins towards the end of the tour. Guide was engaging and patient in explaining the sights along the river.

NO DOLPHINS WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Arrived on time and the boat was nowhere to be seen, even beforehand we tried ringing to make sure we were at the right location but no answer. It seems they wanted to take the boat out earlier than the booking time so that they could finish their shift early and go home.

Amazing and Informative We had a FANTASTIC time! Andrew was very knowledgeable and a great host. Jim was a talented skipper who made the whole trip smooth. We were worried we wouldnt see any dolphins as that was the main reason for taking my sister on the cruise. Right near the end we found a massive pod, Jim stowed the engines and allowed us all to take happy snaps and videos. Would also like to thank the office staff. Originally I accidentally booked for the 31st of August when the dates refreshed without realising. They called me the day of expecting us to be boarding. I told them the mistake. They were SO kind. They organised the correct date at no charge. Really cant stress how great the team and tour is. Would rate it 10/5 if I could!

The dolphins were just beautiful and the shipwrecks were amazing. The captain was fantastic and very friendly. It was fantastic, the captain was friendly and to see the dolphins and the shipwrecks was amazing. Would recommend it to anyone

We went with our 4 year old toddler. Highly recommended and toddler friendly.
Captain Jim was amazing. We learnt about history, dolphins and birds. We spotted around 15 dolphins , so close ones as well. Our toddler was given the opportunity to sit on captains chair and wear his cap. Also was given a goody bag to play and a lolli as a appreciation gift. For him adelaide is all about dolphins. He could not wait to share the photos and stories with his kinder friends.

And the Ships Graveyard is fantastic.

We had 3:30 arvo cruise this July. Im telling you because you see how gorgeous the sunset gold ✨️ rays looks. And its perfect if you are into photography. Just a note we were lucky to see loads of dolphins 🐬 🐬 🐬

Highly recommended to families with kids! We had a great time in this Port Adelaide Dolphin Cruise, spotted dolphins way out and back. The two crew gave informative and interesting insights about dolphins, maritime history, the harbour, the boats and the ship graveyard. They also handed out kids gift bags which my kid loved!
We are Adelaide local, and never tried this before. I would encourage locals to experience this adventure and you will be surprised with how much fun you will gain!
The weather was beautiful and we could sit on top of this cruise boat and enjoy the view.

Had a nice cruise to see graveyard of boats and dolphins. Boat is clean and is easy to see out from multiple places. Managed to spot 3 dolphins at the end of the tour close to the mooring. We didn't manage to go to the Dolphin sanctuary due to the tides. Consider the tides when booking. The river is very ephemeral.

Amazing experience. Chris and Tim were very friendly and knowledgeable. Was able to spot dolphins a few times along with the closest ever experience in the wild. The ship wrecks took is back to the old times.

Even got lucky to see a few dolphins right up to the boat in wild environment (sanctuary only means protected but natural environment). Great experience!

It was enjoyable My husband and I found the cruise enjoyable. The commentary was very clear/informative.
We saw three dolphins which was heartwarming.
I’m not sure whether the cruise would be suitable for young children.
We were told a lunch cruise is being planned and we look forward to that in the future.

Boat ride up the Port What a great day out we had
Train ride to the Port from Adeliade CBD and then a short walk to the Port
The boat drivers were great, very informative and did all they could to ensure that we were comfortable and saw all that was available to be viewed.
We first meet little (not so little) Rocket an orphaned dolphin who has called the Port home and happy there
Then boarded the boat, there were upstairs/outside seats and the drivers ensure that was equally rotated between guests.
Saw the port, told stories, saw shipwrecks, birdlife and some more dolphins feeding.

Adventures in Australia Trip was education and interesting. Staff was very knowledgeable. Didn’t see any dolphins so it’s more of a boat ride around the port.

Great cruise! We had a fantastic day on the Port River cruise! The weather was perfect, and we were lucky enough to see dolphins, which was a highlight for the kids. This was a smaller boat than the last time we went a few years ago. Sam and his partner were great and kept people informed about things on the way. But, don’t expect to see dolphins jumping out of water and dancing (kids get disappointed easily) because for us it was very hard to even have a glimpse of a dolphin. The boat graveyard was interesting.

Highly recommend a tour if your in the area and have a chance to head out.
We had captain Chris and he was a wealth of knowledge, super friendly and definitely had a good sense of humour!
We really enjoyed our tour out to ship wrecks, we were lucky to see Rocket before boarding and after so we got a super close view of a dolphin! Will definitely book again if we are ever in the area.

I recently enjoyed a Father’s Day cruise in Adelaide, and it was a memorable experience from start to finish. Our tour guide was informative & friendly, answering questions & guiding us to the best spots for viewing. We were lucky enough to see the bridge open as well as several dolphins & the shipwrecks. Amazing! Absolute amazing experience with the family. Wasn’t sure how it the kids would go (8yr old, 6yr old and 3yr old) but all had a great time. 90mims was perfect amount of time. The skipper (Chris) was very knowledgeable on maritime history and the colonial history of the area. Would certainly recommend and will be back for another trip sometime soon!

May 24 dolphin tour ???????? Great tour with Sam. Informative and friendly. The port infrastructure and shipwrecks were interesting but the dolphins were the highlight. We were lucky to see approximately 15 dolphins in groups of 3-4 at different spots.

River Cruise Lovely & informative. Our Captain/Tour Guide was excellent. Small group of fellow travellers and we all had a good day.

We did enjoy the cruise. The ships graveyard was interesting and our hosts were knowledgeable. The dolphins were a bit shy when we went.
Only downside...it is expensive for what it is and no food or drinks are available.
We've been on previous cruises on the Port River on a much bigger boat, where you could buy lunch, drinks, etc and that cruise was much cheaper in price.

A very relaxing, informative river cruise up the Port Adelaide River and around Garden Island. Great seeing the Ships' Graveyard, the loading of grain ships and the restoration of other vessels. The captain of our tour was friendly, easy going and full of maritime knowledge. Water provided on board, as well as sunscreen. It was lovely standing out on the bow and the cabin with all glass windows provided great viewing opportunities. We even saw a dolphin which swam right past the boat.

We had a very relaxed and fun tour, our host/captain was Chris and he was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, he could answer all the questions posed to him by us and other passengers. We saw a few dolphins and were able to have a 5 minute stop to see if we could spot them again before moving on, which was very nice of him! He also gave us a recommendation for lunch which we went and had after the tour which was delicious, thank you Chris! ????

A Brilliant Way to Appreciate the Port River and the Port of Adelaide. Well done to Cameron and Steve in hosting our 90 minute Dolphin and Ships Graveyard Cruise. Great staff, boat; relaxing and interesting! Enjoyed the experience with my husband who uses a wheelchair. Staff was very helpful, friendly, and accomodating. The boat was very comfortable, multiple viewing decks and a bathroom. The other large tourist group were non-english speaking, and decided to talk through the tour, made it hard to hear the history. But what I did get was interesting, guides did a great job trying to get good views. Would definetly recommend for a relaxing day of sightseeing.

Amazing! Visiting Adelaide from Scotland and went on the dolphin and ship graveyard tour. It was brilliant. The guides were great, friendly and very informative of the history of Adelaide. Unfortunately we didn’t see any dolphins but as they are wild animals you can’t guarantee seeing them. Even without the dolphin sighting this trip was definitely worth it and I would highly recommend.

Fun on the Port River I lovedit, the weather was perfect, we didn't see dolphins but my six-year-old grandson and I really enjoyed being out on the water and all the historical information about Port Adelaide. The other people on the boat seem to be enjoying it as well such, a good thing for families to do particularly enjoyable for children of all ages

My experience with Port River Cruises was fantastic! Ben, the tour guide, added a delightful touch with his humor and entertaining dad jokes. His knowledge about dolphins and the ships in and around the port was impressive and informative. We even got lucky and saw a few Dolphins swimming around. This was a fun and informative experience with Ben. You will learn a bit about the history of the Port, Adelaide and the ships sitting at the graveyard. If you're lucky you might also spot dolphins along the way.
Ben is a funny lad that might crack a couple of dad jokes and his cruise is clean and comfortable.

A beautiful and peaceful cruise! It was fascinating seeing real shipwrecks and listening to their stories! Saw many dolphins (that seem to accompany us!) but I never got a good picture! They are tricky! Lol The crew couldn’t be nicer! the Maritime Museum was well done with amazing stories.

Port Adelaide Cruises After driving through Port Adelaide previously we decided to stop this time and have a look around.
Port River Cruises offered this tour and we are greatly appreciative of the guys who provided this experience. Two knowledgeable guys who made you feel welcome and comfortable on their 20 seat cruiser. Saw plenty of dolphins and other wildlife all with great commentary and with the ability to slow the boat down to take advantage of watching them up close.
Fantastic 90 minutes.

Great time on the water My friend and I have just come back from this cruise and we couldn't speak highly enough of it. We were very lucky to be the only ones on the boat today so were able to interact with Cameron, our skipper. He is amazing with his knowledge of the river and the surroundings and is just a really nice young man. It was a pleasure to spend time with him

Bottle Nose Banter and Ships that Sail No More A highly instructive experience in which guides Jamie, who was skipper for the day, and Cam provided a wealth of information about the industry adjacent to & the shipping that uses the Port River; the behaviour of the dolphins - both permanent residents and visitors - in the Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary and; the history of the various boats that can be seen including those ripe for restoration and others which are already in an advanced stage of deterioration.
The cabin cruiser used for the tour is comfortable with large windows that can be opened and for those who want a better view and don't mind being buffeted by the breeze there are another 10 seats on top of the boat.
Dolphins were spotted on a couple of occasions, but only a few of the passengers, excluding me, were lucky enough to sight them before they vanished again. Mangroves lining part of the shore, and which used to exist in far higher concentrations, were also evident and are popular spot for birds.
Next time you're in the South Australian capital why not head on up to Port Adelaide and book a spot on the tour and keep these lads from having to seek alternative employment.

This was a group activity on a Sunday morning. Staff very friendly. Explored boat wrecks on the river. Spied just 2 dolphins in the dolphin sanctuary.

The trip was super cool and very informative! Cameron and his team were all very friendly and the dolphins and ships were an awesome site to see! Perfect for passengers of any age! I definitely recommend this as an activity to do on a nice sunny day!

A worthwhile experience! I couldn't speak more highly of this experience. The tour guide was knowledgeable but not arrogant, the views were beautiful. And seeing the ships graveyard has been on my bucket list for a long time, and I was not disappointed at all.

A magnificent afternoon. Beautiful to be out on the water. A very comfortable boat. Seats 16 I think, 2x2. Can stand outside on the bow if you like. The ship graveyard is amazing to see. We booked at low tide and saw a lot of the old wrecks. Cam was a charming host and captain. Very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. He did his utmost to find some dolphins and we thought that we were not going to see any when a little one popped up right near the dock. All onboard were mesmerised. Cam assisted a passenger with a walking frame and one with a wheelchair. A gentleman. I absolutely recommend that if you are in Adelaide, be sure to make time for this cruise

A relaxing and fun way to experience part of Port Adelaide not usually seen. The tour provides an overview of port history and industry, the ship graveyard and, if you’re lucky, some happy dolphins checking you out.
The crew were helpful and friendly and, with fewer than 20 on board, it is easy to move around and view the scenery.

I took my daughters out to the Port, not really sure what we were going to do. We walked past the booking booth and the lovely lady was so kind and friendly, she won me over and I booked a tour.
The tour was great. Full of interesting and fun facts about the local area and the “graveyard ships”. We didn’t see any dolphins, but I would definitely do this again :) It was a beautiful day out on the water regardless :)

The whole experience of the trip along the Port River was highlighted by Skipper Luke's entertaining and educational dialogue. Passengers gave their input too and altogether it was an enjoyable and worthwhile outing. Luke's obvious delight in all things nautical, especially Sperm Whales, was gripping. No dolphins appeared but we all seemed content on what was offered - the discovery of our Pt Adelaide's river. Thank you Luke.

A must-do in SA! Such a good experience for the Port Adelaide area! The dolphins are always a treat - although being in the wild, there's no guarantee to see them every time. The boats are good for any weather, and the estuary has no waves, it's very smooth.

Dolphins! This tour was excellent, from the moment Cam greeted us until we got off the boat. We had great scenery, the commentary was interesting and informative and we were made to feel comfortable. An all round good experience, especially seeing the dolphins!

Enjoyed a wonderful eye-opening voyage with Port River Cruises. The boat was spotlessly clean (especially the Mr Sheen(ed) windows, Cameron (the Captain) amazingly full of knowledge and with a welcoming manner that set the tone for a pleasant afternoon. We found out lots of interesting and surprising things about the Port River - from ship graveyards to historical boats with the bonus of frequent sitings of the Port's dolphins.
