Enthusiastic Dolphins & Enthusiastic Guide! We had a wonderful time with KI Marine Adventures! Dolphins are one of my favourite animals, and it was so cool to be able to see them and get to swim amongst them in the wild! I appreciated that the tour group was kept to a fairly small size, and the atmosphere on the boat was pretty chill and laid-back while still prioritizing safety and of course respect and consideration for the animals and their habitat/environment. It never felt like we were exploiting the dolphins, and proper etiquette was also explained in terms of not chasing after the dolphins and not trying to touch them, etc. We were there in the spring, so the water was quite cold even with the wet suits, but it was of course completely worth it! It took us a while to find the dolphins, but the Captain/guide was determined to find them for us, and kept searching until he did. I apologize that I can't seem to remember the Captain/guide's name, but he was very friendly and nice, and also very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Even though he does this almost every day and sees dolphins all the time, he seemed just as interested and excited as we all were, which I really respect and makes the experience as a visitor all the more enjoyable. After very ample time getting to be in the water with the dolphins, we also got to stay and watch the pod for a while from the boat, as well, which was quite interesting, as the dolphins had all become quite frisky with each other by that point. And then even as we headed back to the shore, some of the dolphins continued to follow us for a while, swimming and jumping alongside the boat's wake! Overall, we had a wonderful time on this tour (a big highlight of our time on KI), and if I ever return to KI (which I really hope I can someday), I would definitely do this again, and I would highly recommend it! Amazing experience - must do We had an amazing time with our guides Andy and Specs. They were really friendly and shared so much knowledge of the local area. We spent loads of
time with the dolphins and went in the water multiple times. Everyone had a great time and were super relaxed together.

This was a wonderful experience. Gerry took us out in the morning, but there were only two dolphins. He knidly offer to rerun the tour later in the day we got to experuence at least 50 plus dolphins. Gerry was a great host whose main focus was to ensure everyone got something from the day. Would total recommend the tour

Amazing Experience, Amazing Guides!! Our experience with the KI Marine Adventures team was phenomenal. They were very knowledgeable in the tour itself, took us right round where the dolphins hang out, and got everyone a change to swim with the dolphins. I highly recommend them to anyone visiting Kangaroo Island!

Misleading Got to give this company a big 0! Have been communicating with this company for a few months. They told us we would need a car hire which in my country and there it also means a hired driver uber/taxi etc. We get to the island morning of to be told there is no such thing around the island that we would have to rent a car. That wasn’t happening since neither one of us was driving in a foreign country. Emailed them and basically it’s to bad for us out of an expensive experience. Disputed with credit card emailed both tourism companies about my experience. Traveler Beware!!

Only saw 3 dolphins. Pretty disappointing. Only saw about 3 dolphins. Know it’s nature and can’t always guarantee but had been following the Facebook page and they had been posting for weeks about pods of dolphins and everyone swimming with them and that was the once in a lifetime experience we paid the premium price for. Definitely not cheap for what we got and saw. At the end they offered to send us a video to have on our phone but the experience we paid for was to see it in real life - can check out the videos anytime. We were probably just unlucky but was a bit of a blow after saving money to do it and expecting to see pods.

Great dolphin spotting and Swimming experience Although overcast day could not have been better. Loved every minute of the trip. Saw plenty of dolphins some of our family members got in and swam with the dolphins and all came out smiling, saying they loved it. Also saw some endangered Australian Sea Lions swimming and jumping in the wild. Wonderful jet powered boat was effortless. A brilliant once in a lifetime experience. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

Totally dolphin awesomeness Seeing and swimming with the dolphins is so awesome. To experience wild dolphins in their natural habitat is truly something else. Andrew our skipper was really cool. Very knowledgeable and heaps of fun. It's a must do when I was Kangaroo Island. Couldn't recommend it enough.
Our only criticism was it was an extremely hot day and waiting at the marina with no shade and no where to sit was a little uncomfortable.
Apart from that we had the best time.

A fantastic experience made even more memorable by the wonderful and patient guides Andrew and Estelle. Our (just) four year old was treated brilliantly and they had all the safety gear you might need to feel comfortable no matter your swimming ability (kiddo lifejackets and floaters for us adults when she grabbed onto us!). The water was quite pleasant but there are wetsuits if you need.

A beautiful boat trip into a secluded bay FULL of wild dolphins, punctuated by stop offs to view other wildlife such as sea eagles and seals. So close to the dolphins, we could reach out and touch if we had wanted to- but the fun is in keeping them wild and free! We swam and played with the whole pod, got up close to tiny babies and then enjoyed watching the dolphins ride the boats wake as we left.

I couldn’t recommend this tour more!

We, including our 12 and 9 year old grandchildren enjoyed a fantastic day on the water swimming and Interacting with wild dolphins. Perfect weather, perfect day out, and all made better by a friendly, knowledgeable team who took us out. Not to be missed when visiting K I.

Andrew and Estelle were friendly and informative as we headed out of Emu Bay. The dolphins were right where they said they would be and we were brought right up close before dropping in amongst the pod. First thing I saw was a tiny baby with its mum. We all got several goes in small groups and the dolphins were so close. This is a must do on the island, if you are here in the warmer months.

Andrew and Georgia were exceptional guides; offering a comfortable and exciting boat ride, with spectacular views, great commentary and of course, an abundance of dolphins! They offered a very personal service, taking the time to speak with everyone and even remembering my name! They gave ample opportunity to be in the water with the dolphins and offered some fabulous footage, for no extra charge. They even went to the effort of making everyone a cup of tea/coffee and offering biscuits. A truly fantastic experience, which was the cream on the cake of a brilliant KI stay.

Wonderful experience We really enjoyed the adventure with Andrew to visit the dolphins today! We went on his
open jet boat with two other family groups ( no propellers to endanger wildlife or swimmers) . Andrew was entertaining and knowledgeable about the local wildlife - we saw eagles and seals as well as dolphins. It was just amazing to swim with the curious dolphins who seemed to enjoy the the visit from the boat, checking us out as soon as we arrived in the bay and enjoying a surf on the bow wave as we left. There were young calves and maybe as many as 30 dolphins during the morning. It was a bit chilly today but there were wet suits for use and snorkels/ masks. You need to be reasonably confident slipping into the water and climbing back on to the boat- there’s a ladder. We loved it, and our fellow swimmers did too. Andrew is great fun and offers an exciting opportunity to experience dolphins in their own environment choosing to interact with visitors.

If I could give them 10 stars I would! It was an absolutely amazing experience and one not to be missed when on kangaroo island. It’s run by locals with small numbers meaning that you get the best personalised experience possible. Thank you for an amazing day where we did multiple swims with dolphins. We finished with making some waves and I got to capture some amazing footage with them playing and jumping out of the water. I loved every moment of the day. This was the highlight of my whole kangaroo island trip. It’s easily the best dolphin swim done the right way in the whole of Australia.

Andrew and Stella were great guides and both were very friendly and knowledgeable. I loved how their tours are much smaller (we only had 15 people on our tour) which made the experience much more special and nicer than with a large group. So many pods of dolphins, it was surreal. Would recommend for all ocean lovers!!

Once-in-a-lifetime experience! Although the cost seemed expensive when I booked, swimming with these truly wild dolphins is one of the best things I have ever done. I was fortunate with weather, which was perfect after several horrible windy days. Andrew cares genuinely about the welfare of the dolphins, and KIMA's jet boat ensures a prop-free zone to keep them safe. At 18 degrees, the water was cold despite the wetsuit provided, but it was such a special experience that I didn't care til I got out, then there was a hot cup of tea waiting for me. Highly recommended.

Unforgettable! Absolutely fantastic experience. Crew were clearly passionate and knowledgeable about the area and had a keen eye for spotting wildlife. Amazing getting to swim with so many dolphins who were pretty unbothered by our presence so didn't feel intrusive. Dolphin paradise Amazing experience with so many dolphins. Great care for wildlife. Best 3hours of our KI trip. If you can swim enough to stay above water you should be fine.

I’ve done dolphin experiences in the Gold Coast and America, and I found this 100% better to be in the water with wild dolphins.
My youngest didn’t feel confident to get in. So Andrew ensured he has an opportunities to see them jumping on the back whilst we were stopped.

What an amazing experience, getting up close with the beautiful dolphins. We swam next to a small pod, you could hear them making noises and clearly see their faces. The trip was well organised and our guide Andrew was skilful in getting the boat close to the pod so we could jump in and swim with them. You need to be a reasonable swimmer and be able to swim out and back to the boat multiple times. Highly recommended.

Honestly one of the best experiences of my life. I think I will always be slightly in shock at what I saw. Swimming with 50-60 dolphins that were everywhere around me was incredible. Andrew was an amazing guide and gave us so much knowledge about everything we saw on the tour. Cannot recommend this tour enough. Keep up the amazing work!

Best tour I’ve ever been on around the world! I’ve been on boat tours around the world and KI Marine Adventures was the best one I’ve ever been on! Andrew was a brilliant guide and so knowledgeable about the island and its animals. This is the dolphin tour you want to do if you want an ethical, eco friendly tour that actually cares about the animal’s welfare over profits. Saw so many dolphins within 1 foot of you, they were very calm and approached you. Once in a lifetime experience that we’ll never forget!!

Must do on KI Our family of 5 had the best time! Our kids (age 14, 13, and 10) said it was one of the coolest things they’d ever done. It was pretty chilly first thing in the morning, so bring some warm clothes. We each had several opportunities to hop in the water and swim among the dolphins. The guides were great! They even brought a homemade treat and coffee and hot tea to share with everyone! Would highly recommend!!

Great adventure and operator. Goes all out to allow you to have a good time. Dolphins arrived late but hey they were the life of the party. We all had an awesome time.

Not worth it of weather's bad Not worth the money unless you have perfect sunny weather. In my opinion our tour should have been postponed, as we had clouds and rain as well as 16 degrees with heavy wind. Everyone on the boat was freezing and we saw a whooping 3 dolphins. I acknowledge that the skipper is neither responsible for the weather nor for the dolphins showing up, but chances are just so much lower with clouds and rain. The next day would have had sunshine and 20 degrees
Was also a bit awkward when the skipper showed pictures of other days with pods of 40-60 dolphins . What's the point?
Overall, there's cheaper tours for dolphin watching. We did not experience "swim with the dolphins" but rather "jump in the non-shallow water now and look under water, you might see one of the 2-3 dolphins swimming there". A lot of chasing unfortunately.

We went back in April. The weather wasn't good but the skipper's positive attitude really helped. We saw some dolphins and some people got to spend time swimming with them, although they were quick to swim away. I can imagine the experience could have been a lot better if the weather hadn't been so bad.

Bucket list experience! Incredible experience, such a bucket list thing!!! The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. It was super cold but they provided us with extra jackets and hot tea/coffee to keep warm.

It was quite expensive but worth it. Because the tour guide knew what he was doing and did a great job to get everyone close to the dolfins without annoying them.

Wauw - what an experience We booked late (the day before), but we were lucky, there was still room for three adults. Got a link to the location where we should board the boat the next day.
Andrew, our skipper, was very passionate and told us of seals, birds and of course the dolphins, which we got to swim with. It was amazing.
It was a very smooth ride with this boat, which has room for 15 passengers with room to move around. There was snorkling equipment and wetsuits on board.
If your english skills are not good, it can be difficult to follow the quick passionate talking, but the talk was very clear, just quick. Within our group, we had one with good english skills, which made the translation to the two others.
All in all - a wonderful experience, which we highly recommend for others.

Wildlife spotting and dolphin swim! Wonderful day, spotting wildlife and learning about the North Coast of KI. Swimming with the dolphins was the highlight of course but it was great to also just watch from the comfort of the boat. Really great experience for the whole family, we had little ones on board and Andrew was so patient with them when they were afraid to jump in.

Must do experience, one for the bucket list Second time enjoying the daulphins with Marine Adventures, different location but same amazing experience. Enjoyed it so much the first time I had to bring my family.

Do not miss this. This is tha absolute best dolphin swim on the island. Andrew and Zali (and Grandma who made the awesome lamingtons) are a great family team who make the experience fantastic. Thank you for a wonderful day:)

Dolphin adventure Excellent must do adventure. Andrew delivered a laid back but informative tour that ensured you had a great experience. With dolphins surfing in the wake of the boat and plenty of photo opportunities in and out of the water, this is 5 star.

This was an absolutely amazing experience; we got to see so many dolphins and learn all about the wildlife. Towards the ends, we were lucky enough to capture some videos of dolphins jumping up and showing off with some flips along the waves generated by the boat
All this while keeping it safe for the dolphins - no propellers (boat used jet propulsion) - that's even better
Andrew was quite knowledgeable and experienced and very willing to share his knowledge with us. Kids and parents absolutely loved it.

Our experience with Kangaroo Island Marine Adventures was all what we expected and more! Andrew was very friendly and had a good sense of humour. He explained us about the site, his experience with the dolphins, and the best way to approach them once we were in the water.

As we were dealing with wild dolphins, it was unsure how many we would encounter or if we would even see them, but the hopes were high. Andrew had his binoculars and we finally spotted one! Quietly and slowly, we approached it and the first group got into the water (us included). The experience of seeing a wild dolphin in his natural habitat is almost impossible to describe with words. It's truly touching. They are calm, curious, and nimble. In most of the immersions we saw 3 or 4 dolphins. All of them equally exciting! We liked that KI Marine Adventures is the only company that goes there and that strongly encourages people to get slowly into the water and do it in small groups, taking true precautions to not be invasive. We spent enough time in the bay to enjoy the experience and take turns in the water.

Our last immersion was the cherry on top though! More dolphins had arrived and the moment we went in, we found ourselves surrounded by these absolutely stunning creatures! At least 10 dolphins were swimming around us, looking at us while we were mesmerized by their presence.

Definitely recommend! It wasn't a cheap experience but it ended up being a priceless one.

Wow!
I have never seen so many dolphins in my life. An amazing and expertly run experience. The staff have a great knowledge of the island and its wildlife. We also saw birds of prey along the way. This trip provides a full 3 hours which allows heaps of time to have multiple swims with the dolphins.
This is a fantastic tour, and a must when visiting Kangaroo Island.
Another experience to tick off my bucket list.

Went on the Dolphin swim and it was absolutely awesome. Andrew took us on the tour and stopped at a few locations where we were lucky enough to spot a rare sea bird and then when we got to the dolphin sanctuary were straight in the water. Swimming right next to truly Wild Dolphins is just such a truly amazing experience.

My family and I did this tour and it was one of the absolute highlights of our time in Kangaroo Island! Andrew gave a fun and well-informed tour, stopping for white bellied sea eagles, peregrine falcons (we didn't see any unfortunately) and seals (also none on this morning tour). While the water was quite chilly/brisk, the provision of wet suits and short turns in the water made it better. We were absolutely amazed by seeing nearly 80 dolphins during our tour! While our youngest (age 9) opted against snorkeling, it was still an amazing view from the boat. It was absolutely an amazing, unforgettable experience that I would highly recommend. Watching the dolphins "surf" in the boat wake as we departed the area was something I'll never forget!
