A favourite Absolutely love this place. After visiting in December for a dining experience, we put it on our “must do” list to return for a stay. From the island tour after arrival to the stunning beaches, amazing food and cocktails, there is really nothing to fault. The staff are all so friendly and accommodating and you can tell they love being a part of the Rumi team. To top it off, the care for the preservation of the island and its wildlife is something else. We cannot wait to come back. It really is the perfect place to come and disconnect.

Superb, wonderful, immersive and fabulous. And the staff are even better Wow, Rumi is difficult to do justice on a review. Its unique location and isolation speak for itself, yet close to everywhere. Accommodation is fresh, as if you are the first person to enter, with panoramic windows which integrate you into its magic. Cuisine, value and experiences are first class, and don’t miss the catamaran cruise, nor the paddle boarding, both essential.
And despite all this faultless decadence, you are welcomed by staff who all dedicate themselves as one, reflect the ethos of this amazing place and speak of their managers and owners with enormous reverence, admiration and respect. Every single host deserves special mention for sincere service.

Amazing Stunning five-star island getaway that is exactly as promised, wild and indulgent. We had an amazing three days exploring the islands offerings; from a delicious picnic on a beach we had all to ourselves, to watching a stunning wedgetail eagle soaring across the island. Everything about this eco resort is memorable in the best way possible. It's obvious so much thought and intention has gone into every detail from the mattresses and linens (best sleep) to the technology that allows the island to be off grid!
The staff team were wonderful; knowledgeable, impeccable service and so welcoming. The pièce de résistance is Samphire restaurant. Our only regret is that we didn't get to try everything on the menu!

Great Experience At Rumi We had an amazing day on Rumi Island, greeted with champagne, we were privileged to take the buggy tour with the owners and found out the history and future development of the the island. The dining experience was perfect. The staff were very friendly and professional.

Rumi Getaway A much needed getaway from it all and it was an excellent decision to stay at Rumi. Food was excellent, staff were incredible, helpful, nothing was too difficult, room modern and comfortable plus the views were brilliant. The island itself and the story behind what they are doing is amazing. Will definitely be back.

Memorable lunch We had a family event to celebrate so headed to Rumi. We arrived at the pick up spot wondering whether we would get cold and wet on the crossing. The amphibious vehicle and drivers (new one each way) were amazing - pisting video of arrival only - then fantastic four course meal, even by our standards. Fairly limited wine list but all the wines (4 bottles) we chose were excellent. Staff were great, location amazing. As locals we wondered whether it would be a 'value for money' experience; exceeded expectations! We dont actually know who the chef is/are but he/she/they need some kind of recognition. Highly recommend this experience if you are travelling to EP.

Amazing 4 hours. Hey guys , from the moment we were greeted on the mainland at Louth Bay, the team were amazing. Both the boat and restaurant team were amazing, food was great and everyone was very courteous. We would highly recommend this experience. As new residents to the area, we will certainly b back. Thank you all to making our day special and memorable. Great day.

The best of SA The best lunch in South Australia. A four course fixed price menu. Bread,king fish, steak and chocolate - all fantastic. A perfect meal. My second visit. Recommend a visit.

Magical escape in class filled elegance From the moment we engaged with Rumi we were in the best of hands. From easy booking to seamless airport transfers in the height of comfort, nothing was too much trouble whilst everything was done with understated class.
The rooms were excellent, with views across the island to the water behind, appointed with all the conveniences imaginable. Notable was the emphasis on sustainability- the whole island is off the grid, from their own solar farm and RO water system down to solar powered remote controls for in-room appliances.
So too the two chef hat dining draws on world class local produce for inspiration- Port Lincoln is the seafood capital of Australia for a reason, and the Rumi menu masterfully celebrates this along with elements of Eyre Peninsulas finest agricultural and viticultural produce. The degustation dinner is must (note to self when booking, at present these run from Thursday to Sunday), however both the four course dinner and al la carte are exceptional. And when it comes to breakfast, we were spoiled for choice- crab meat truffled scrambled eggs, or the most amazing local bacon with perfectly poached eggs?
We opted for lunch in our personalised beach cabana and can also highly recommend the personalised massage before the magical sunsets.
However, what was striking was the overwhelming passion of the team for the island itself and its restoration. The highlight was undoubtedly the island tour, which included the stunning scenery, but also an opportunity to understand the extensive efforts around restoring the island to its pre-grazing days. Our exceptional guide Tyler, was able to convey the epic battle against the imported South African Box Thorn, the subsequent revegetation program and the ongoing flora, fauna and birdlife monitoring program. The passion was evident, and this tour was entirely customisable- it could be as long or as short as you wish, and I would urge all visitors to take it to get a feel for the Rumi philosophy.
Finally, the staff at all levels were exceptional- nothing was too much trouble, everything was handled professionally and the service was truly world class- indeed, better in many instances.

The beauty of this remote, thoroughly relaxing getaway is that is so accessible- transfers to and from Port Lincoln airport and/or Port Lincoln itself) are personalised, flights from Adelaide regular on both Rex and Qantas and connections in Adelaide are short.

Indulgence Delivered Our two night stay on Rumi exceeded our expectations. The quality of the food and level of service were outstanding. Every meal at the 2 hatted Samphire restaurant was excellent using only the freshest local produce. There is plenty to do and hiking the island was a standout with abundant birdlife, seals and whale spotting.

A Truly Special Stay at Rumi on Louth! From the moment we arrived at Rumi on Louth, we knew we were somewhere really special. The space is absolutely beautiful — thoughtfully designed, spotlessly clean, and filled with so many lovely little touches.

The stunning interiors blend luxury with a warm, relaxed feel. The food was absolutely incredible — every dish was carefully curated and clearly made with so much care. It really took the whole experience to the next level as did the cocktails!

The team were friendly, attentive and anticipated our every need.

Just 10 minutes from the mainland and you are transported to an Australian paradise, it’s clear the owners have poured so much love into creating something truly memorable while also taking care to restore the island. We left feeling relaxed, inspired, and already planning our next visit.

We couldn’t recommend Rumi on Louth more highly — five stars just doesn't seem enough you must experience it for yourself!

Soooooo relaxing and enjoyable It was all amazing - great food (the best), wonderful service and inspiring actions to regenerate. Buggies are fun and useful (tour was excellent). Lots of opportunities for walks, quick dips in the ocean and breathing fresh air. There are TVs but who needs one, really? There is something about this place that allows you to easily switch off and enjoy, We'll be back!

Classic couples getaway A wonderful stress free break with great food and wonderful staff. Easy to be inspired by the commitment to restore the ecology of the island. The catamaran and sunset on the beach were highlights. Fairy penguins are returning and there is a lot to look forward too.
