Departing from Woolloomoolloo, just a short walk away from the Sydney CBD, this tour will show you the major landmarks of Sydney from the water including the Garden Island Naval Base, Mrs Macquaries Chair, Fort Denison, Kirribilli House, with a great photo opportunity in front of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

Meeting location

Go to 6 Lincoln Crescent Woolloomooloo. From the end of the street at the turning circle walk north towards the water through the locked chain gate. You will see a grassy area directly in front of you. This is the departure point. Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes before the start time of the tour. If you are at the swimming pool please walk back south towards the Art Gallery for approximately 200 metres and then down the stairs.

Getting there

The best place to park is on Bourke St (free) or Lincoln Crescent (4hr zone weekends or 2 hrs on weekdays).  All day parking is available in the Domain carpark for around $10 on weekends. 

The nearest train station is Martin Place, then it’s a 10 to 15 minute walk through the Domain, past the Art Gallery of NSW and down the stairs to Lincoln Crescent. If you are coming from the Circular Quay area be aware that the Royal Botanic Garden gates open at 7am. Please allow additional time if you are unsure of the area.

  • – Suitable clothing for wet/chilly conditions as needed

Other information

  • The weight limit is 180kg per double kayak.
  • Single paddlers may need to share a kayak
  • Every child under 15 must have an adult paddler on the same kayak
  • The minimum weight for lifejackets is 25kg
  • Please use the toilets opposite Andrew Boy Charlton pool before the tour, leaving plenty of time as the tour will depart on time.

Heavy rain and high wind speeds will impact on your safety and enjoyment during the activity. The activity will go ahead in light rain. Winds greater than a ‘Moderate Breeze’ (16 knots on the Beaufort Scale) will in most circumstances lead to the activity being cancelled.
