We had the most delightful foodie tour this morning with Katina from Flamboyance Tours. From the moment we met her, she was warm, welcoming and full of genuine enthusiasm for her city and its food culture.

Katina is a natural storyteller — she generously shared personal memories, family traditions and fascinating stories about Adelaide’s food scene through the decades. It felt less like a tour and more like being guided by a proud local friend who loves to feed you. The many little treats along the way were thoughtful and delicious, and each stop revealed another layer of Adelaide’s culinary heritage.

Her passion for local producers, history and community really shines through. It is no surprise her company has won a star in the Culture category of the SA Tourism Awards — she absolutely deserves it.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience with Katina, who took us on an amazing walking tour around the Adelaide CBD and the Central Market. Katina runs a very professional guided walk. It was an energetic three hours while never seeming rushed. Extremely informative walk around the city visiting many sites and learning about the history behind special icons as well as the early white settlement of Adelaide and the first indigenous people of the area.

I visited the beautiful city of Adelaide in May, early fall, as all the leaves were turning colors. It really is the City of Festivals and Arts. The month long History Festival, and the 10 day Taste of Australia Event were both happening at the time of my visit.

I wanted the perspective of a local guide so I found a well reviewed (and woman led) company called Flamboyance Tours. 👍

The F Factor: This 1st tour was a short visit to the shopping district to taste the famous Haigh's chocolates and we were introduced to the early ornate shopping arcades still gracing this city. We then went on to a substantial tour of the delicious goodies at the bustling local Central Market which was full of local produce. Andrea, our guide did a very good job on the histories of the local merchants and she also introduced us to many delicacies!

Iconic Adelaide Tour: The 2nd tour was led by the owner Katina, who has a journalism background and has trained in Europe on tour guiding. She was super knowledgeable and was able to provide deep details when asked. The tour starts with some of the earliest structures in Adelaide, namely the Mounted Police barracks and Armoury established in 1838. What mostly amazed me was how many women were prominent in governing, social services and academic roles in Adelaide. Their statues are all along North Terrace and are there as proof. I LIKE this city ! A most welcoming place for ALL….

Walking tour with Andrea today was awesome. Andrea was an excellent guide with a great knowledge of Adelaide and gave us an interesting 90 minute tour of the city centre. Very worthwhile to get our bearings and get some history of the city.

This is a great tour. Our guide, Katina is very knowledgeable of everything to do with Adelaide, from the history, the sites, the street art, how to get around and where to have dinner. Her enthusiasm made the tour a lot of fun. I have no hesitation recommending the tour.

Fantastic. Highly Recommended. What a wonderful walking tour of Port Adelaide this was, with far less actual walking for a walking tour than we had expected. Kat’s knowledge of the area was fantastic. She was able to relate lots of little Gems. The tour oozed history that Kat had taken the time to delve deeply to find. Kat is a wonderful tour guide, and certainly knew how to find the bits of history that we would find most interesting.

She was patient when I had an event which caused me to arrive late for our tour, and just gave me a brief overview of where they were up to and carried on with the tour. Staying in Adelaide for the TDU we booked this tour for a change from the cycling. Port Adelaide was a bit of a mystery to us but Katina’s extensive tour provided us a great insight into the port as it was and is now. Her knowledgeable explanation of the history and land marks was peppered with great stories of the people and events in the port’s history. We thoroughly enjoyed the 2 1/2 hours which represented great value for money. Highly recommended!

Had a great 2hour walking tour with Kat yesterday. We learnt some great facts about Adelaide her knowledge was excellent and the spots worth visiting. The tour ended at the Markets and on her recommendation the Portuguese tart was the best. After a drink we had dinner at a restaurant in China Town another recommendations of Kats. Highly recommend this walking tour to really see about the city.

What a fun and informative walk with Katina around Adelaide’s Central Business District. This is a must-do tour for newbies to the city and probably even for long-time residents. Katina is a local (born and raised). She exudes energy and passion for her beautiful city of Adelaide. I learned a lot about the city’s history, architecture, and controversies during the ninety-plus minute amble from Rundle Mall and alleyways to peek at local Street Art. This was an excellent tour and is highly recommended.

Host: Wonderful, enthusiastic, passionate about her city, knowledgable and full of energy.
Tour: 3hrs, did not feel that long, though remember decent walking shoes and a bottle of water. There were many stops along the way while Katina was giving us info on the various sites. For what we thought was a small area, there was definitely 3hrs worth of things to see and find good info on. And there are some absolute gems there. Who would have thought a library would evoke a sense of interest.
Katina has a good clear speaking voice and her passion and pride in the city and what it has to offer shows through.

Fabulous art tour by foot. Good walking on a fine day enjoying Adelaide city. Our guide showed us street art present and photos of removed art. Our guide was engaging, informative, passionate and funny. We, enjoyed a lovely afternoon with her, straight after the Art Museum. We were so in the zone. Highly recommended!

We had a great tour with Katina, she had a great knowledge of Adelaide and was able to convey this to a very ‘knowledgeable’ 77 year old and also to my son (who is 5) - she kept us engaged throughout the whole tour. I would definitely recommend if you want to get to know Adelaide a bit more.

Kat was very knowledgable and full of recommendations and tips for you to further explore the city in your own time. We followed up on most of Kat’s suggestions and none of them disappointed.

Really enjoyed our walking tour of Adelaide with Katina. It gave us a great introduction to the city with lots of points of interest and anecdotes along with a bit of history. Katina has a very broad knowledge of the city and her passion for Adelaide shines through. Definitely a good starting point for anyone visiting and a very enjoyable, not too taxing 90 minutes.

Katina was warm, engaging, funny and shared her inspiring passion for the history and beauty of the port. It was a lovely afternoon walk around Port Adelaide covering topics like historical fires, how the land was reclaimed, various industries in the area, street art, and more. There were also a few tasty delights on the way! A great day!

My husband and I love walking tours and this one of Port Adelaide with Katina was an excellent one. I took Katina’s food tour and it is a MUST-DO for anyone visiting Adelaide! She has thoughtfully designed a tour that showcases many of Adelaide’s local foods and family businesses.
