Explore a range of tastes from across the Asian continent, from Chinese pastries to Japanese onigiri! Discover the stories behind well-loved dishes served as street food, breakfast dishes and snacks as you sample freshly made delights from local restaurants. A minimum of five generous tastings will give you the perfect lunchtime feed.

This is a two-hour walking tour that winds its way through streets well frequented day and night, leisurely observing the history of the area among all the delectable samples. Understand how the Chinese community influenced Adelaide’s food scene, and how multicultural cuisine is vital to the city in the modern era.

Start point: Adelaide Central Market – Gouger Street entrance, next to Marino Meats

End point: Chinatown Gate, corner of Moonta and Grote streets

– Adelaide Central Market, central Gouger St entrance (between Marino Meats and Haigh’s)
End location:
– Chinatown Gate, corner of Moonta and Grote streets 

How to get there:
– Catch the free city tram to the Victoria Square stop on the tram line and walk five minutes to the start point
– The free City Connector loop bus (route 98) is close, stopping at Stop W Grote St – South Side (98A) or Stop D3 Grote St – North Side (98C). You can then walk through the market to the Gouger St entrance.
– The closest carpark with decent rates is the Grote Street UPark (not the Central Market carpark).
– Ubers/taxis are also frequent.
