This was my second course with Anita — the first was bread making, and this time I tried pastry. Anita is warm, funny, and has such a wonderful way of teaching that makes everything easy to understand and encourages you to just give it a go. The afternoon was nicely rounded up with some food and of course tasting the bread.
There was plenty to take home, a lot of impressions, ideas, recipes, some dough a sourdough starter, the experience did not end when we left.

Three of us completed the pastry class and had a great time. Anita was willing to negotiate the structure of the class to incorporate things we wanted to learn. There was a good balance between demonstrating and hands-on cooking. We made some fantastic savoury and sweet dishes and ate them for lunch. There was so much food we all took a large package home with us. Anita is lots of fun and it was really interesting learning about her Swiss food and heritage. Highly recommend 👍

An all round excellent experience at Anita's pastry class, which covered all you need to know to make perfect pastry dishes. The combination of Anita's patient and clear instruction, the opportunity to try making everything ourselves and the delicious 5 course lunch of our own cooking was perfect. This was a great activity to do on holidays while visiting the Fleurieu Peninsula. From the welcome drink to the collection of food to take home, this was a great value for money experience.

I attended one of Anita’s bread making courses yesterday. The whole experience was above and beyond my expectations. After introductions to my fellow novice “bakers” we were given a choice of delicious Kimbolton wines. The class was hands on friendly and so informative. We were shown how to make 5 minute sour dough, puff pastry resulting in mouth watering croissants, pretzels, fruit loaf and even the traditional plaited Swiss zopf. I loved every minute of the class - but wait, there’s more.
After all our efforts were merrily baking away in the ovens we were given a really informative presentation on wheat and the different flours available. Now one of our fellow class mates had a celiac family member so we were lucky enough to be shown how to make bread to cater for them. Anita had all the answers. Then to top it off we were served a delicious light luncheon of the various things we had made. Plus when we departed we were able to take home our very professional loaves and a “starter” to get us on our way into the world of bread making.
Thank you so much Anita. I am so excited now to be offering Anita’s classes in-house to our guests at Cowrie Retreat.

We received so much information and then to top it off our produce was transformed into a tasty luncheon served with more delicious Kimbolton wines. Anita just keeps on giving and I highly recommend her classes. We are certainly thrilled to be offering her classes at Cowrie Retreat Fleurieu Peninsula Luxury Beachfront Accommodation. I’m sure this will be a highlight for our guests.

“Winter Class for Cheese Lovers”.
Oh my goodness - what a day!
Taught us , guided us, fed us, so many amazing dishes. Incredible value. Topped off with delicious Kimbolton wines.

Lots of fun! Anita is a fun loving teacher - with entertaining stories, interesting information and superb guidance in cooking so many different breads. Beyond expectations. Loved the informal but well planned bread making workshop. I learned so much about different flours and the art of making various breads. Anita knows her stuff so well and provided the best of quality ingredients. I highly recommend Anita and her workshop.

What a wonderful little surprise. Both Anita and her husband were lovely and very accommodating, With so much worldly experience we ended up with one of the most amazing experiences. I can soundly say this has been a dream come true! I have always wanted to do a cooking class and Anita made it relaxed and spectacular.
We were a larger group but we all had the most fun and no one left with out being able to chip in and have a go.

Omg! Had the delicious delight of raising up a bread storm at Anita Robin, The Foodbuilder with sourdough starter star, Em Smith , of Koru Cultures Fleurieu Peninsula
Highly recommend. Anita is so knowledgeable! Well I guess being a pro Swiss chef will do that ;)
She gently walked us through amazing doughs, how to prepare them and seamlessly turn them into bread, GERMAN BREAD, croissants and PRETZELS!! OMG PRETZELS did I mention pretzels..
And how to put some dough in the freezer so you can have bakery fresh bread when you want it. And I have the little book to replicate it at home. Oh and dough for tomorrow! Sooooo good!!
AND we got to meet Anita's Dad Wally!! He made the walnut pie recipe!!
And they have a BnB!

I attended Anita’s bread making class and it was wonderful. I was amazed at the amount of different types of bread Anita fit into the class. We also learned about different types of flour and then we had a delicious lunch with some beautiful wines. Do not miss this excellent class it’s a must if you’re interested in learning bread making.

My friend and I did a bread making class and absolutely loved it. Anita is so fun and welcoming, it was very special getting to cook with her in her home. I tried and tried with sourdough through covid but it never came out quite right. My '5 minute' take home to cook sourdough turned out perfect. All recipes were easy and I am so excited to make them. There was great variety and I ate way too much food! I am looking forward to coming back.

Hands down this is the best experience we have had in ages. The setting is fabulous, the hosts are welcoming and the food is to die for. It's great to be able to watch how a different cuisine comes to life. I'm envious that Anita can "whip up" something on a whim and it tastes so good. Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed.

Great class. Learnt alot about making different types of bread. Group was small, so made it easy to follow Anita. Everything was very hands on and we had an enormous lunch after all the baking. We also got to take home what we baked, a recipe book, a dough to bake at home and a sourdough starter. Would thoroughly encourage anyone wanting to learn to make bread to attend one of Anita's classes.
