Amazing experience at raptor refuge What a great experience and a great group. These guys really are doing gods work. Thank you to Ollie for a great tour, so good and very informative. Highly recommend to any bird lovers, or lovers of nature/animals.

Great experience seeing Raptors up close The Raptor Refuge was a wonderful experience. It was incredible hearing the stories of the rescued birds and how they are thriving at the Refuge, along with the stories of those released into the wild. They are doing so much good for the raptors and their knowledge was incredible, I would strongly recommend this experience.

Informative and awe-inspiring Informative and awe-inspiring experience. The work these folk do is amazing, and I learned a lot about the threats to each species as well as what can be done to reduce risk of harm. The birds themselves are of course stunning, it is incredible to get so close to these amazing birds, albeit ones who are unfortunately unable to live outside captivity.
The tour was highly educational and we were more than happy to be supporting the work of this organisation.

A Tassie Must-Do! Our whole family loved our tour today with Oli. We were warmly welcomed and it was the perfect blend of light-hearted stories, hard-hitting facts about the plight of our raptors, and time to observe the beautiful birds. The birds are really loved and well-cared for We recently visited Raptor Refuge (our daughter is bird-obsessed!) & we had a lovely time. An unforgettable and memorable visit to Raptor Refuge, Kettering, Australia Travelled to Tasi on this weekend trip mainly to visit the Raptor Refuge, was one of the most amazing experiences I have had in Hobart. Eagles being the main draw to visit the Raptor Refuge, was pleasantly surprised by the other Raptors and how Craig and the team care for them with such genuine passion. Oil was our guide for the tour, but we were also joined by Craig.
Nestled in the bushland of Kettering, this sanctuary is more than just a haven for the injured birds, it's a place of refuge and healing. Craig and the team's dedication to rehabilitating the eagles, owles, goshawks and others are quite awe-inspiring. The guided tour was intimate and informative, offering rare closeup views of the magnificent creatures, while emphasizing conservation and the threats they face. Seeing the Wedge-Tailed eagles close up for the very first time was my highlight although, watching the antics especially of the Masked owl was a lovely treat.
If you care about birds and especially Raptors - this is a must visit - it is truly enlightening and memorable, and well worth every dollar.

Rapt in the Raptors Really enjoyed meeting the beautiful raptors. We watched some being feed, met the tawny frogmouths up close and were won over by the wonderful owls. Took my 10 yr old grandson he enjoyed it too. Guide was friendly with great knowledge of all the birds.

Incredible experience We came on a Sunday for the private walk and talk with a larger family group with children. We all had the most amazing time learning, seeing and hearing all about the amazing raptors on site. What this team does for wildlife conservation and rehabilitation is incredible. Oli was an amazing guide for our time visiting. We cannot recommend this experience more and will visit again in the future.

An uncommon and special experience Our guide Kyah (apologies if that’s a misspelling) did a terrific job showing us around and telling us about the birds being cared for. The most sobering fact to learn was how people are responsible, both directly and indirectly, for so many raptors being injured and poisoned. But the Raptor Refuge carers are doing a remarkable and inspiring job by doing what’s possible – including educating the public – to improve things for the birds. If you book a visit to the refuge, a fascinating, eye-opening and heartwarming experience is guaranteed. Plus, with a bit of luck, you may get to meet an owl who is undeniably the full Monty!

A truly amazing experience We had the pleasure to visit the Raptor Refuge and had a fantastic walk and talk tour with our wonderful, knowledgeable guide Kyah. It was such a privilege to be able to get up close to see and learn more about these amazing birds, and also hear about the dedicated care and work the team at Raptor Refuge are doing. The experience left us with a deeper understanding and respect for these magnificent raptors, as well as for the Raptor Refuge’s care and rehabilitation, education, awareness and programs. A truly amazing experience and we hope to return again soon.

Great bird viewing Simply wonderful. I adore watching Raptors, so to see some up close is magical. We had booked a tour, then were asked to change the time, which was easy. We were travelling from St Mary's, so were a trifle late. Luckily the others in the group did not mind that we were late. Lovely guide talked about each of the rescued birds and about the work of the refuge to hopefully release these beautiful creatures back into the wild. ( I do apologise, I cannot remember our guides name, but she was great).
Great place, highly recommend.

Raptor Paradise for Avian Enthusiasts I don't know what to say about this spot. It was better than I had imagined. An wounded eagle had to be carried in, which caused the tour to be delayed. An educational video introducing the raptors they care for and their rehabilitation process was shown at the beginning of the trip. They went on to say that the birds on exhibit are there because they are injured and would be unable to survive in nature. Much obliged to the entire staff as well.

Fun and inspiring The Serendipitous Eagle Encounter is terrific. Our tour guide Ziggy was friendly and knowledgeable; he was obliging with all of our questions, and so clearly passionate about the care that the Refuge provides for their birds. We saw a variety of birds and were pleased to see them comfortable and happy, despite the injuries and misfortunes that first brought them there. They have their own personalities, and Ziggy knows them all so well, which was so touching and enjoyable for us to see. Several thoughtful demonstrations, such as feeding rituals and interaction with Ziggy, elicited these characterful behaviours for us to observe. We especially enjoyed seeing the Masked Owls invited to feed, demonstrating their remarkably silent flight.

The Refuge is neat and clean, yet full of charming touches like murals and wood carvings. The surrounding bushland is surprisingly serene, despite its convenient proximity to the Channel Highway. We enjoyed a provided picnic by the pond, and peacefully observed the Wedge Tailed Eagles.

The overall experience, while sobering, was incredibly warming, inspiring and fun. Highly recommended for animal lovers.

Do not miss this experience An experience not to be missed. Our guide Kyah was knowledgeable and displayed excellent people skills. She conveyed her passion and enthusiasm for the birds and passed this on to her audience. And what wonderful work the refuge performs. The care displayed even extends to the beautiful raked paths and serene surroundings. Congratulations on your skill, visiting your refuge has been on my bucket list. Many thanks.

A Place for the Birds Our visit to the Raptor Refuge was as informative as it was inspiring. The birds were beautiful and the stories of how they got to this rehabilitation facility were an important reminder of the things people do—sometimes accidentally, and sometimes maliciously—to these magnificent birds. Craig’s passion and enthusiasm were remarkable.

Raptor Fans Heaven We were staying in the vicinity of the Raptor Refuge in the beautiful town of Cygnet and decided to book an appointment to visit this life saving refuge. On arrival we were greeted by our wonderful guide who kept us enthralled with her amazing knowledge of each raptor and patiently answered all of our questions (which were a lot 😂) for the one & a half hours.
The work behind the scenes that is undertaken to medically rehabilitate and return the once injured raptors to the wild is humbling.
Please support this amazing refuge and understand that is what it is, not a zoo! Loved every minute of the tour and highly recommend a visit.

We went on the tour today with Oli as our host. A very passionate and informative host who shared her knowledge with us.
We were able to see and hear about the work the team at the refuge do, and felt incredibly lucky to share this experience with our family.
We would highly recommend this experience, and wish the refuge continued success in its rehabilitation programs.

Definitely recommend 👌🏻 I took my son and my mother to Raptor Refuge as a 70th Birthday Present to my mum. She was so happy to tick this experience off her bucket list. The birds were stunning/impressive/majestic/adorable (take your pick) and our guide Kaia was lovely. Very informative and friendly, and very patient with my seven year old and his 1008 questions.

OWLING SUCCESS Can’t recommend this place highly enough. I’m mobility challenged ; they accommodated me so well that I was able to celebrate my 80th birthday joyfully with the owls and other raptors.

The refuge uses road kill to feed the birds;pity the poor collectors! Some birds can’t be rehabilitated and become permanent residents; great care is taken to maintain their natural feeding and flight patterns.

Sad that they are dependent on donations and one can see every cent goes on the birds. Go. Again and again. Give them a donation and become a friend. Volunteer if you are a Taswegian.
