We did the parasailing with Adventure Moreton Island over the weekend and it was such an epic experience! Super smooth from start to finish — the crew were so relaxed and friendly, and made the whole thing feel totally safe. Once we were up in the air, the views over Moreton Bay were unreal. It honestly felt like flying. Highly recommend if you’re chasing a bit of a thrill with a seriously stunning backdrop.
He was super knowledgeable and extra attentive. He made sure of all our gear before and during the whole dive and made our experiences as best as they could be. He is so observant and engaging. One of my best dives in 15 years of diving.
Tangalooma dive will not disappoint 👌
Not recommend this company.
Also,a tip for staff - I have dived, snorkelled off numerous boats and when ascending the boat the procedure is you take off your fins in the water then hand your fins to a member of staff . It is then much easier to ascend the boat with 2 hands , especially when the current is strong as it was .
We booked through getyourguide as a third party and this company never booked our ferry over, but told getyourguide that they did and that we were on the island and did the tour to avoid giving a refund, despite our written confirmation from the ferry providers that there was no booking and they denied us entry. They ruined our anniversary then lied to avoid paying us back. Avoid these scammers like the plague!
I asked the Venue if they ever have life guards and they said they never do.
This is more a warning, please be careful snorkelling at the ship wreck, if you are not a strong swimmer stay with a group of people even when swimming in or out!
We signed up for the all day snorkel tour, and by the time we had to get a locker change, get into a wetsuit get out to the wrecks to snorkel we only were in the water about a half an hour. So essentially, we wasted an entire 14 hour day to have a half an hour in the water with a bunch of people that didn’t know how to snorkel and we’re running into each other which did not make a pleasant experience. We are experienced snorkelers, and the type of tourist that goes to this island clearly are not that type of person. If you expect to be able to see the wrecks on a tour without a lot of novice people you’d be better off getting a private boat. The guides on the snorkel boats reminded me of people in Mexico who want to show as many people a good time as possible and then get as much tip money from as possible.
Once we got off the packed snorkel boat, there essentially are no showers or places to change despite what the staff tells you. There are outdoor showers on the grass which is really your only option. So I took a shower in my bathing suit, and then changed with the towel wrapped around me. My wife took a shower/rinsed in the outdoor shower and went into the tiny bathrooms to put her clothes on. This is not at all what we expected. They should have a sizable bathroom where people can rinse off and put on their dry clothes, but none of that exists, despite what is written on the website or what they tell you on the boat so beware. The bathroom is where my wife did change were all dirty and kind of gross so it was just not a pleasant experience at all.
Once we arrive at the islands, we pretty much had to go to directly to check in for the snorkeling which took forever because they had to fit each person with a mask, fin, snorkel and wetsuit. We took our own mask and snorkel, which if you have, I would highly suggest. But as I stated, the whole experience took about 3 1/2 hours, and only 30 minutes of that time was in the water snorkeling over the wrecks.
By the time we got back to the beach, showered, and put on dry clothes, it was pretty much time to get back on the boat. I tried to get lunch that they gave us vouchers for, and every place was closed, except for one which had sold out of the majority of its food. So I had to just grab whatever they had to use the voucher money. They didn’t even have a bag to put my food into so I had to throw it into my wet bag and took it onto the boat back to the mainland to eat.
If you like what I said, then, this might be an option for you, however, this is not something that I would suggest doing and I view it is nothing more than a propaganda money making machine.
Long story short: the tour operator should send the documentation via email and give clear instructions beforehand how it works/what the schedule is.
The resort and island was very beautiful though, the diving instructor did a good job and in the end it has been a pleasant day.
When we got there we were only the told about the short amount of time we actually had to scuba dive (an hour) we were told that we need to meet at 11:45pm for the pool dive first , we were on time but the instructor Nigel seamed behind. We put on our wetsuits and my partner asked for a photo once we were done , he was so rude and clapped his hands and told us to hurry up(we didn’t get a photo) did the pool thing then waited around with our gear on for an hour! Before we could get on the boat and leave. We got there (wrecks) and 30 short mins we were done. Got back to the beach and it was 3:40pm, we missed our ferry which came at 3:30pm which is part of this “deal” Absolutely no value in money here.
Our instructor Nigel was so short and had no patience, I found him so rude.
Besides that the bathrooms at the water activities were so dirty and smelly.
There are so many other places that give a much better experience, don’t let the beautiful Island fool you to book this tour (if you can even call it that)

The dolphin feed was a let down as we did it on the night that a cruise boat was in port and they put hotel guests at the back of the line so you only were with the dolphin for about 30 seconds and then you get shuttled out of the way for the next group since there were so many people there.
But it was a beautiful location and most of the staff were friendly.
Staff were fabulous.
Only thing I didn't like was the bed in Beach lodge they were just to hard and my back didn't like was till they put topper on the bed it was find all though I like my own pillow.
High light of the trip was the whale watching from the jet boat.
Also Southern Safari trip amazing, still heaps other things to do eg Quad bikes. Which I didn't do.
Fire and Stone restaurant is one my favourite places to go have a meal in evening.
But still an amazing place.
We have been welcomed by Brigitte. We rented the snorkel gear and a kayak. We would have expected a better briefing for the kayak because it was too windy and the water was choppy we had to drop the kayak after 50m because it was too hard. The snorkelling was however very nice and really easy to do on our own.
We would be sure to use any new service if it comes.
The tall skinny guy on the beach we believe was the skipper and was told his name to be Dave was rude and abrupt with us and considering we are the paying customer, I believe Micat could find someone better suited for the job.
The Cafe staff always seem friendly, maybe he was having a bad day but it did not make our day better.
Did not depart terminal until 3, an hour late.
Was in front 10 cars but because no trailer or caravan, almost last to.load. will be interesting to see what time we actually disembark.
Not one apology or explanation. Just a person on loudspeaker encouraging us to buy their overpriced snack bar goods and alcohol.
Additionally, with Covid we have held a booking since 2019. We were not refunded, the owners pulled the "we are just a small family business, we don't have the cash to refund".
Don't mind looking after small business but certainly can see this is one small business with big business values.
Moreton Island Ferries sux. I wish I had a lot of money so I could set up competition to their monopoly.
A few of the activities weren't available because it was not windy enough (catamaran and parasailing) and The Covid (banana boating) which was a bit of a bummer, but our Guided Wrecks snorkel, Stand Up Paddle board and Kayak hires all ended up being great. Our snorkel guides were efficient and friendly, and hiring the SUP and kayaks was super smooth. The wrecks were pretty busy and crowded, but hey, it's that time of year.
Only 4 stars because we were sent incorrect info about ferry departure in the morning, told 7am in the email confirmation and website FAQ but it's actually 8. I could've slept another hour! Then on arrival when choosing our activities the staff also told us confusing info about which activities went to the wrecks and how.
Otherwise a great day, would love to go back for longer!
