Awesome experience with the horses followed by a relaxing wine tasting. We were completely new to horse riding. James was a fantastic instructor and made it so easy. Loved the horses. Stunning day and amazing views. Cannot recommend enough!

The staff were welcoming, the horses well looked after, and the food and wine were top quality. Such a beautiful spot and a perfect day out. Would definitely love to come back again. What an unforgettable experience! We booked a midweek winter trail ride and wine tasting and were absolutely blown away. Alison, our guide, was simply brilliant—warm, knowledgeable, and made us all feel completely at ease. The horses were beautifully, so kind-natured and a real pleasure to ride.

After the ride, we enjoyed a generous platter and a fantastic tasting of Petaluma’s stunning wines. Every detail was thought through, and the whole experience felt both relaxing and special.

This is such a beautiful winery with stunning views and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly lovely—friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about what they do, which made our visit even more enjoyable. We did a wine tasting and were genuinely impressed by the quality of every wine we tried—each one was absolutely delicious. It was a relaxing and memorable experience, and we’re already looking forward to coming back again!

Loved the experienced here. Didn’t know of the place till we came by it today. We tried 4 different wine tasting flights which were all good. The tastings came with a complimentary cheese platter as well.

Only thing I would’ve hoped for would be for the tasting fee to be redeemable when a purchase is made.

45 minutes was perfect for riding (walk only) the horses as been a while since riding & enjoyed casual walk through the hills at the winery & then back to the cellar door for wine tastings & purchased pre booked platter which was excellent. The entire experience with all staff at winery & ride was so great with great stories from staff . We will be back 5 Bloody stars.

I truly could not recommend this experience enough; if I could give a rating higher than 5 stars, I absolutely would. The horses were beautiful, the instructor was so helpful in guiding us through our first ever time riding a horse (and was also one of the loveliest people), and the wine tasting was a beautiful way to finish, pairing the most delicious wines with the loveliest view. We absolutely loved our experience and would recommend to anyone and everyone!

Had an amazing experience riding the horses on the property the horses were so placid and easy to ride. We finished it off our experience with a lovely wine tasting in the cellar door. An array of flights to choose from which came with a little nibble (we also got a platter which was delicious), staff were very attentive and knowledgeable. Highly recommend for a great day out.

Fabulous wines and very dog friendly I love visiting Petaluma. The wines are so delicious! And we always travel with our dogs, who are always so welcome there, both inside and on the verandah!

The winery has a great atmosphere with a spectacular view. The staff provided exceptional service with Linda giving a great overview of the wines while Adam crafted a nifty little platter.

What an amazing cellar door with the wines to match the view. Had an cracking afternoon with one of the best cellar door people, (Adam) just made us feel like we were part of the family. What a range to try as well. From sparkling wines to best in class Chardonnay to power house reds. If you just did this winery in the Adelaide hills you would not be disappointed. I must when you are in the Adelaide hills. Make sure you ask for Adam.

Our host Linda was so hospitable and talked us through our wine flights in a manner we could understand.

Little cheese plates with the wine was lovely especially the toasted bread.

The glass ware was amazing. We did the Chardonnay wine flight and was given Chardonnay glasses and not your standard wine glasses.

Best cellar door experience in Adelaide Hills.

Iconic and very beautiful cellar door. Staff were a well oiled machine as we did not book but they did not hesitate to find us a spot. They were busy but gave us a little taste of the fabulous Croser as they attended to us.

Petaluma Part of our self drive tasting which allows us to select the wineries we might like. It involves past experience with the wine and a bit of research before you go but well worth it.
Lady providing the tasting was very friendly and knowledgable. You have a variety of options as to what youi could sample at $25 if you didn't buy any wine.
The venue is really well set up and come along way from when tastings were in tin sheds. This is upmarket and reflected in the prices as well.
My wife is the chief taster and found some of the wines to her taste.

What a beautiful place and view , awesome wines and staff make you feel very welcome. A great experience with a quality cheese platter. Thanks for having us. We will be back.

Had a great day at day on the deck yesterday!!! Great food, wine and atmosphere. View was exceptional and the staff were very attentive and really looked after our group! Quick service as appropriate staff at the venue. Overall a 10/10 day will come past the next event.

Dropped in to Petaluma on a sunny Monday with my husband and was absolutely blown away by the view and the amazing wines. Our lovely host Linda took us through the Chardonnay wine flight with such knowledge of the region and wines. Really enjoyed the platter that was put together for us, just delicious.

We thoroughly enjoyed the food and wine experience at Petaluma’s glass room experience in our own private room. The locally produced food pairing and their wine selections were thoroughly enjoyable. We received great service from both Linda and Adam the entire time, we were very well looked after. We made the most of the outdoor deck area during our experience in between food servings and where we took in the beautiful setting and outlook of the property. Will definitely return again. Loved it!

Totally underwhelmed. Visiting from Queensland for a week in July we had visited ten other wineries and were very impressed.

Thought we would save the best for my birthday (have known and liked Petaluma wines for many years) so pre-booked and paid for two $25.00 tastings.

We arrived 20 minutes early on a cold, blustery day to find the car park empty. Venturing in, nobody was there at all. We called out and a female came out to greet us saying that she was having her lunch and didn’t know there was a booking!

We offered to let her finish her lunch but she checked the computer and sure enough we were on there.

So, she bought out the two wine flights, gave a brief spiel about them, and bought out a couple of savoury biscuits each. We had a quick chat and then she announced she had some bookkeeping to do, she would leave us to it, and promptly disappeared out the back. And that was it!

We stayed a couple more minutes and left without so much as a goodbye.

In summary, totally underwhelming. The booking page on the web site says it would be a 40 minute experience. We were lucky to get ten.

Probably the most miserable tasting ever, and definitely the worst value as we couldn’t even redeem the fifty bucks against the purchase of wine to take home.

Luckily we went to Henschke the next day which was the exact opposite of this – they know how it should be done.

Wine and Food (in that order!) Attended for a wine tasting and also purchased a sharing platter as it was about lunchtime.
The food was excellent and good value and the wine tasting experience and the wine itself was first class.

Enjoyed the wines, the Shiraz was a winner along with the pink sparkling croser. A bit pricier compared to others in the area, but the Shiraz alone was worth it.

I recently visited this winery in Petaluma and had a disappointing experience. My group paid a significant amount of money for a tasting experience, but we were repeatedly asked to be quiet by the female staff member. While I understand the importance of respecting the atmosphere and other patrons, we were not being overly loud or disruptive. We felt uncomfortable and unwelcome, which took away from the overall enjoyment of the experience.

Furthermore, we felt that the price we paid was not reflective of the service we received. While the wines were good, we were not made to feel special or valued as customers.

Overall, I was disappointed with my experience at this winery. While the wine was decent, the poor service and uncomfortable atmosphere detracted from the overall enjoyment. I hope that the female staff can work on improving their approach to customer service and create a more welcoming environment for all visitors.

Don't bother. The view is fantastic. The wine is below average.

Head 2 minutes down the road to Lobethal Road wines. Fantastic!!!

Popular label, and while the cellar door was newer, it missed the mark a little - no music on the deck, wasn’t offered water, flights were quite expensive and not really that generous. Wasn’t refundable on wine purchase either! Staff member wasn’t super warm either. Included a cheese plate, but had two slices of the same cheese, rather than a mix, which seemed a bit boring. Also prices were quite a lot higher than bottle stores. Definitely better experiences in other cellar doors.

Great wines and views We stopped by here to wine taste and visit. Nice tasting room with a view of the valley and vineyards. The wines were pretty good, we got the pinot gris and shiraz.

An amazing experience & impressive wine tasting. Our hostess Sarah had an extensive amount of local knowledge to back up the presentation of some fabulous wines. Highly recommend you stop here if you are visiting Adelaide Hills.

Wonderful setting and experience Went to Petaluma Winery for an indoor plant workshop with "The Botanic Designer". It was a wonderful morning with some gorgeous wines and a fabulous platter. Highly recommend a visit or go for a workshop type event. Petaluma staff we very friendly and knowledgeable.

Petaluma is an absolutely beautiful cellar door and tasting room in the Adelaide Hills. It has a lovely view over the hills and is very modern in style. We tried the Chardonnay flight and a mixed flight which were all quite good wines.

Lovely setting but disappointing Beautiful setting and pleasant tasting room. Most of the reviews are quite old so I wonder why? The staff were organised for our bubbly tasting for 3 and were happy to quickly add a 3 way tasting for the guys. A small nibble for the group was appreciated.
The tastings were expensive when compared to other wineries; $20 for the bubbles and $15 for a range of whites and reds. The bubbles were very small serves for the 4 types. The other tastings were fine but also more expensive than the other wineries we visited. Whist we understand wineries have done it tough, we thought this was over the top.

A WONDERFUL TASTING EXPERIENCE We visited on a weekday morning on a rainy day and were the only visitors there. I tasted the Regional Varietals and my wife the Croser flight. Both were excellent and the lady conducting the tasting was professional and very friendly. We followed the tasting with a platter and glass of wine rounding of a very successful and enjoyable visit.

Wonderful! A wonderful, unassuming cellar door in the Adelaide Hills. Both times we’ve been to this property have been mid-week and we were the only ones there which is great for such a big name. A great tasting, well worth the money and lovely staff. Coming from Sydney and very comfortable with the Hunter Valley we loved our time here and would recommend it to anyone in the area. A great South Australian winery!

I have lived in the Adelaide Hills for a decade and am still in awe of the wonderful wines we produce.

Adam took time to share the story of Petaluma in great detail giving us an insight into their journey.

On what was such a beautiful day, we decided to sample the Chardonnay flight (which came with complimentary snacks) and Sparkling offerings. These showcased some of the best cool climate fruit on offer, including grapes from the oldest Adelaide Hills vineyard, Tiers.

Splendid wines and hors d'oeuvres to match the scenery Great wines to match a terrific view from the top of the hill. The wines were matched to hors d'oeuvres, which added that much more to the tasting.
Professionally managed tasting and not pushy sales people.
I will continue to purchase wine from Petaluma
