Interactive Wine Tastings at Sidewood Estate – Where Wine Comes to Life
Step into the heart of the Adelaide Hills and elevate your wine journey with an interactive tasting experience at Sidewood Estate. More than just a tasting, this is a guided exploration designed to engage your senses, spark curiosity, and deepen your appreciation of premium cool-climate wines.
Located in the charming town of Hahndorf, just 25 minutes from Adelaide, our architecturally striking cellar door is the perfect setting for a fun, educational, and memorable wine experience. Whether you’re a seasoned wine enthusiast or a curious beginner, our tastings are tailored to be informative, inclusive, and above all…enjoyable!
What to Expect:
A Guided Journey Through Seven Wines
Our expert team will lead you through a tasting of seven Sidewood wines, selected to showcase the unique styles and varietals of the Adelaide Hills. You’ll compare different vintages, clones, or winemaking techniques—such as oak versus stainless steel—to help you understand how these elements shape flavour, texture, and structure.
Sensory Exploration
Interactive elements like aroma jars, wine maps, and textural comparisons bring the tasting to life. You’ll be encouraged to swirl, sniff, and sip with intention as we explore flavour profiles, wine structure, and the language of tasting.
Storytelling & Education
Each tasting is packed with insights into vineyard practices, sustainability, winemaking philosophy, and the story behind each bottle. Learn how site, climate, and craftsmanship influence the glass in front of you.
Inclusive Tastings for All Guests
We believe everyone should be able to join in the fun. Non-alcoholic wine options are available on request, and kids can join the experience with our local juice flight, making it a welcoming and inclusive activity for all visitors.
A Premium Yet Playful Experience
Expect elegance without pretension. Our team is friendly, passionate, and approachable—we love questions, banter, and helping you discover wines you’ll love.

My favourite is the mappinga Shiraz, very balanced peppery with depth in it
Very warm and welcoming service from Serina, hope I didn’t misspell her name
Couldn't fault a thing with the way Izzy greeted, hosted and educated us throughout the day.
We were given a service that was catered to us :)
Would rate/ 10.
The tastings are usually charged but if you spend over $30 per person in the store it's free.
Big recommendations from us were the sparkling Shiraz and the surprise entrants of the apple and pear ciders.
The pours were subsequently minuscule, only 4 were shared which seemed like a rip off for a paid tasting, and we learned little about the wine. There was a definite hostile atmosphere which made our whole group awkward and put a dampener on what had been a fantastic day (Cobb’s Hill and Petaluma were phenomenal).
We couldn’t get out of there fast enough, and we won’t be going back any time soon! What a shame as it’s beautiful wine and a gorgeous cellar door, if a little over-run by young insta-obsessed kids!
