I contacted Dan regarding a bike and wine tasting tour for the following day. I was immediately impressed by Dan's help. Although a tour wasn't booked on our only available day, Monday 22nd December. Dan straight away suggested doing a private tour, just for the two of us. He picked us up at the hotel and we had a wonderful few ours cycling, strawberry picking, tasting wine and sampling cheeses.
Dan has a great personality and we would highly recommend any of the tours.

We were visiting Adelaide for the weekend and spontaneous decided on a day trip to Adelaide Hills and found Bike About on the internet. Gave Dan a call and he was able to organise the bikes for us last minute for a couple of hours. We had such a fun time up and down the Bikeway, stopped by for wineries, chocolate factory, cow watching and just some sun and giggle.
Highly recommended!

We are recently back from Bike About's 7-Day Flinders Ranges, Outback and Clare Valley E-Bike Tour. We stayed 3 nights at Rawnsley Park Station, exploring the Mawson Trail with stunning views of the Heysen Range and ABC Ranges. Also riding through the Brachina Gorge and seeing many Yellow Footed Rock Wallabies. On the last day at the Station I did a scenic flight, with Chinta Air, and got to relive all those spectacular views from above. You can get to see why the Finders Rangers is called the "Backbone of Australia". The E-Bike Tour and the scenic flight are highly recommended.

Recently we completed our second 7-day Bike About tour in South Australia, this time we explored the picturesque and rugged Flinders Rangers by e-bike, staying at Rawnsley Park Station. Our tour started with our arrival in Adelaide, we love the city as there are great attractions within walking distance of the hotel we stayed at, and there’s always plenty to see and do. This tour, due to the distances involved, required a bit of driving to get to our cycling destinations. The Bike About team planned the trip so well, we enjoyed every bit of it. We stopped at the interesting Alligator Gorge on day 1, our first taste of the ruggedness of the landscape. Cycling in the Flinders was amazing, and the tracks we chose were all very rideable without issue, the e-bikes handled it all amazingly well. Our longest cycling day was around 39 km, all off-road or on gravel, which we accomplished easily. Our trip highlights included riding through to the historic Wilpena Pound homestead, along the Heysen trail, then the next day we started with an engaging cultural tour led by a local Adnyamathanha guide, who told us stories that explained the history of the Sacred Canyon and the significance of the treasured and ancient rock petroglyphs. Following this uplifting experience, we rode the scenic Bulls Gap trail and into the stunning Brachina Gorge with its interesting geological history. We saw heaps of yellow footed rock wallabies really close up, this was a real treat and the wallabies seemed unperturbed by us cycling quietly past, so we had some great photo opportunities. Other wildlife was everywhere, kangaroos, emus, echidnas, eagles, falcons and plenty of parrots entertained us over the three days. The accommodation at Rawnsley Park Station was first class, very warm and comfortable in spacious units, with excellent meals served in the Woolshed Restaurant. We were also impressed by the tasty and nutritious packed lunches that we took on our rides, these were provided by the restaurant kitchen.
To gain a true appreciation of the scale and magnificence of the Flinders, you really need to take advantage of a scenic flight. These are offered from Rawnsley Park at very reasonable prices, and the pilots take you over the majestic ranges and Wilpena Pound, for awesome views and photo opportunities.
Sadly, after 3 days we had to leave the Southern Flinders and we headed down to the Clare Valley, where we rode an amazing trail along an old railway line. This trail was so pleasant to ride, being very smooth and well maintained, and provided great scenery along the way. At various stops we enjoyed gourmet platters, wine tasting and chocolate pairing at some local wineries, before heading back for an interesting dinner at a local historic hotel, where we were treated to a chat with the proprietor who was extremely welcoming and very knowledgeable on local history and environmental subjects.
Throughout this trip there was a need for the Bike About team to adapt to changing circumstances, the weather and accessibility of some trails necessitated changes to plans. The team was awesome and really worked hard at making our trip enjoyable with various alternative options, which, as it turned out, worked amazingly well and fitted easily into the itinerary. As the weather was inclement on our last day, we could not cycle so we visited an excellent café for a leisurely breakfast, followed by a tour of the Yalumba Cooperage, and finally the Monarto Safari Park, the highlight of which was seeing 3 huge male lions bounding towards our bus.
All in all, a fantastic trip with a wonderful group of like-minded cyclists. Our dedicated, enthusiastic and entertaining guides made sure we had a lot of fun, and the camaraderie in the group was very enjoyable, with a lot of good-humoured banter and many stories told. Bike About has delivered again, in spades, and we are really looking forward to tour opportunities in 2026!

Dan from Bike About was amazing. He explained everything about how to use the bikes and also spoke about the surrounding area. Fresh country air, sound of magpies, horses, cows, koala. This is a must do when you are in Adelaide. So much fun!!!

Our family of 5 had a great morning tour through Adelaide with Matt. The pace was perfect with little kids and it felt like we covered a lot of ground. Matt was super friendly and knowledgeable about what we were seeing and the history of the area. He was also very patient and understanding with our kids needs. The e-bikes were easy to use. Bike tours are always our favorite way to see a city and Bike About and Matt made our experience unforgettable.

We had an Amazing day cycling around Adelaide Hills - highly recommend this for a great day out….so much more fun than sitting on a tour bus. Make sure you book with these guys next time you’re in town….

Velo de vines was divine! We had the absolute best time on this ride. Bike about SA fellas, Jack and Dan were amazing. They made the experience fun and enjoyable. It ran like clockwork whilst keeping it spontanas well, with a few surprise additions. Hahndorf food and wine experience was an amazing day, and a must whilst there. Thanks guys.

Must do bike ride in the South Australian Winery area My daughter and I did this trip and it was absolutely fantastic. Jack and Dan couldn't have been more helpful and informative about this beautiful area. Great wineries, restaurants, stunning scenery and the bike trails were excellent. The hotels were lovely and well appointed, the bikes were top notch and in great condition, with lights and saddle bags and all the rides were well signposted and medium difficulty.
We enjoyed it so much, we will be returning to do another ride soon. Thanks Jack and Dan for making our holiday so memorable.

We hired ebikes today to ride from Woodside along the Amy Gillett trail. We had such a fun time. We rode around 35kms stopping along the way for tastings and lunch. It was such a breeze - especially for us as we're not the fittest. Bike About was so amazing and helpful. The guy that showed us the ropes on the bikes was fantastic and liked to have a laugh. Also super flexible with drop off times. We can't recommend enough.

Amazing day out cycling through the Adelaide hills. Dan was awesome, knowledgeable and made the experience a great one.

We did the ebike tour around the Barossa Valley. Jack was great !such a great easy way to get around. Was about 25kms but really doesn’t feel that far. It's really flat riding.

My partner and I recently went along with Dan to do the Hahndorf tour. This day out was full of amazing local food and wine! Well and truly exceeded expectations, great value for money. Would definitely go again.

From the moment I contacted Jack is was just so easy and uncomplicated and very reasonably priced - our bikes delivered to Woodside and away we went - after our hire we dropped off the bikes off at a designated spot - so easy

Wow wow wow!! What an amazing experience we had on our private Adelaide Hills winery e-bike tour with Jack. The bikes were super easy to ride and the off the track trails through the vineyards were such a great way to arrive at the cellar doors. Highly recommend this tour and great value for money - absolute highlight of our trip to SA.

We did the Adelaide Hills e-bike tour and absolutely loved it. The bikes were lots of fun, and made the winery tour very unique and special. We rode along some very beautiful roads and bush tracks between each stop. Each stop on the tour was excellent, including the final stop at the Lane for a very fancy picnic. Jack was incredibly knowledgeable and did a lot of hard work behind the scenes to make the day run so perfectly. We will definitely book with Bike About again!

Mt Lofty done differently.....get your endorphin fix! 30 mins from Adelaide & you are in Clealand National Park. We opted to do the half day Mt Lofty ebike tour with Jack. We'd never used ebikes before & it was an easy way to get up those elevated bits of the track. Jack was a terrific instructor and guide giving us the confidence to tackle this stunning area; get some exercise; feel the exhilaration of going back downhill in a safe environment with endorphins pumping. The vehicle, ebikes & accessories all in good order, a fun half day and well priced. Many thanks for the experience!

Empowering & awesome fun My daughter challenged me to go mountain bike riding with her, knowing Im always up for fun & adventure!
Jack was a superb guide & soon gave me the confidence to 'let go' and just enjoy.
Im a bit of a tree hugger at heart & found myself with in minutes of the city deep in the bush with native bird song & butterflies. Forest bathing was working its magic & I was on a high for the rest of the afternoon & into the evening.
The ride finished with some crisp white wine & regional charcuterie platter - I hooked!!

Excellent tour, great accomodation, good support We completed this last month and had a great few days, and enjoyed the great support from Tony. The route was perfect with its mix of cycle trails & quiet roads, and length was about right. Long enough each day to feel we had good exercise, but not at all hard. We also enjoyed the extra day to explore the Barossa.
The accommodation in each location was very good, especially the Birdwood Motel.
I would recommend this to anyone who likes cycling, wine and food.

Great Corporate Office Day Out! Our Sydney and Perth offices meet in a new location for a regroup as a team once a year and our 2018 offsite took place in Adelaide. Bike-about was great for us as we had a large group and they were incredibly accommodating. They had So many different rides to choose from that were different difficulties and they had helped make the decision super simple for us.They were fun and took us on a beautiful tour through the Adelaide hills. Finishing off the ride with wine and cheese at David O'leary wines was the perfect sup up to a leisurely ride that accommodated to every person on in our group.
