Barossa Valley experience Great town to stay and do the Barossa Valley. We stayed at The Club Suites at Tananda .The were 5 Star, and the meals are very well priced

A Perfect Anniversary Tour with Skip and Rachel - Personalised and Unforgettable! My wife and I booked the Big Red Full Day Private Tour for our anniversary, and it was hands down the most intimate and personalised tour we’ve ever been on. Skip, our amazing driver, made the day truly unforgettable. From the moment we set off, Skip listened to our preferences and tailored the experience perfectly to our tastes. Not knowing exactly where we wanted to go was no issue—he expertly chose destinations that suited us, uncovering hidden gems along the way.

Rachel, Skip’s wife, was also a big part of making our experience special. She was so easy to deal with when we were booking the tour, making the entire process seamless. As an added bonus, we even got to visit a winery where Rachel worked, and her warmth and hospitality really made our day even more memorable.

We visited some incredible wineries, historical villages, and scenic spots that were beyond beautiful, all thanks to Skip’s deep knowledge of the area. A great way to see Barossa. The way to see Barossa Valley is to take a tour and let someone else drive so you can taste all the magnificent wines. There are a few private tour companies. All of them around the same price and not cheap but worth it.
We opted with Big Red Vintage tours. Skip picked us up on time, in fact he was early which was great. He has a wonderful vintage English Black cab painted in red! Spacious inside for the two of us and a fun way to see the valley.
There were a few wineries we wanted to visit and then we let Skip guide us and take us around.
We went to beautiful wineries all different sizes , all with beautiful gardens . We did about 4 wineries and a tawny place which was really delish and a cool place if you like fortified wine.
We stopped at a beautiful place for lunch.
Lunch is not included and either are the tastings. One tasting we did not have to pay as they knew Skip. The others were minimal , anywhere from $10-20 AUS per person. That is usually waved with a purchase and the wineries ship all over the world.
We got to see Luhrs Cottage which if you are a history buff you will love this old

We had a beautiful day enjoying the Barossa with our own customised full day tour. The Red taxi was unfortunately off the road undergoing repairs, so our tour was in the White taxi and it is very comfortable. Skip is an excellent chauffeur and very attentive. His knowledge of the area, including historical as well as food & wine, is extensive, and his witty personality makes for an extremely enjoyable day. My request was for Sparkling Reds, and I was not disappointed 🍾 I could not recommend BRVT enough and would encourage anyone to book a tour with them - you will not be disappointed.

This is a MUST if you’re in Barossa Valley! We were able to communicate with Skip before the tour even started to let him know what kind of wines we love the most and we were wanting to go to some of the smaller cellar doors. He came into the first cellar door with us to get an even better get an idea of what we liked and then took us to amazing vineyards! It was an amazing one on one experience and the car is SO COOL! We learned about the history of the area during the drive between cellar doors and even saw some kangaroos! We really cannot say enough good things about Skip and his business!

Full day tour An easy entertaining day filled with wonderful experiences, amazing how our driver Skip summed us up and was able to give us what we wanted. Tours with walks, history, coffee stops, historic sites and so much humor. Skip had us in stitches. Skip catered to our tour needs and faves a great Barossa experience. Travel in style - no worries with Skip and his Big Red Car We would highly recommend Skip and his Big Red Car. Spent Mother’s Day with them both and had a great time. We are not huge wine cellar visitors so we did a couple of wineries and then visited places of interest in the Barossa Valley. Loved that we could customise the day with Skip’s help & local knowledge to suit our interests. Car is v roomy and comfortable. Doesn’t go fast but that gives you plenty of time to take in the sights. Skip looks after all arrangements and was wonderful to travel with. We intend to return for another spin around the area and will travel with Skip again.

Absolutely amazing!!! Our group (3 couples) had a fantastic time all thanks to Skip. He made everything about the trip so smooth and effortlessly. We selected a few wineries and shared our itinerary with Skip. He had no issue letting us do our own thing (some drivers will not let you choose your own itinerary). He was funny and shared a few of his life stories with us (he has traveled the world and has some amazing stories to tell). At the same time he was polite and respectful of our time as a group. We got to enjoy the White car as "Roger" (the red one) was being serviced. Our car was just as beautiful and very comfortable for our group of 6. 10/10 would recommend. We had a wonderful day in the Barossa Valley with Skip, visiting some amazing boutique vineyards. The wine and food was all delicious! Because we were staying in Adelaide we caught the train the Gawler and meet Skip at the station. Don’t be put off if you’re also staying in Adelaide, Rachel and Skip made this so easy. The highlight of my trip!!! What a spectacularly memorable day out - without a doubt the highlight of our stay in the Barossa!! Our experience with Barossa Red Vintage Tours really ticked all our boxes but let me tell you why (no order of preference): The WHEELS!! Such a luxuriously regal and spacious ride aboard Roger the beautiful big red London cab (spoiler - he’s a serious head turner and with Skip our gracious driver and host opening the door for me at each stop and waves from passers-by I really felt like a celebrity!!) The cab is immaculate, with padded leather seats, plush carpet interior and aircon throughout so is extremely comfortable. The HOST!! Skip was absolutely wonderful company - he not only kept us laughing with his witty humour but he is also a fountain of knowledge on the history of the Barossa, and I’ve walked away from my tour with some truly fascinating insights about the region. He thoughtfully tailored our tour to exactly our needs and was happy to adapt the day to fit our energy as we went along. Skip really made us feel special and was dedicated to giving us exactly the experience we were seeking - his enthusiasm and love of the region really shines through and is wonderfully infectious!! The WINES!! Barossa Valley has many many more vineyards and cellar doors than I ever imagined - it would be impossible to visit them all in a week, never mind a day!! But Skip’s uniquely tailored selection of impeccable quality cellar doors on our tour was absolute perfection - truly magnificent wineries perched on hills and surrounded by majestic vineyards, dripping with grapes in all their glory. And because Skip carefully chose wine tastings to match our preferences and budget, we were able to buy some bottles to relive the memories once we get home!! Holiday life doesn’t get any better than this tour - well worth every cent!!!

First class private tour of Barossa We organised this tour as part of some 60th birthday celebrations and had the most fantastic day out organised for us by Skip. From first making contact with Rachel weeks in advance from the UK through to the conclusion of the tour on 14 December 2022, everything was exactly what one would hope for from a professional team dedicated to ensuring their clients’ expectations were not only met but exceeded. The itinerary was agreed in advance; the wineries we visited were varied and interesting. The stop for lunch included visiting a really stunningly beautiful garden. We also visited a cheese producer and a small chocolate factory. Skip was fun to be with, well-informed about the Basrossa, and an excellent driver. We lost count of the number of people who waved or took photos of the immaculate, vintage cab. We’ve no hesitation in recommending this tour to anyone wanting a private tour. Big Red the best way to see the Barossa! What an amazing day this was provided by Skip. He knows the Barossa inside and out and made for a very enjoyable experience from pickup at 10am to about 6pm.
Nothing was trouble for Skip as he took my new wife and I wherever we wanted and for as long as we wanted. Highly recommend this private tour - no better way to see the Barossa. As we wanted to experience both cars he even made the effort to swap during the day. And made plans for his mate at the brewery to open especially for us on the man's day off.
Will definitely be contacting Skip again when in the Barossa - I highly recommend you do the same.

Best of the Barossa This was the best day out. Skip tailored the itinerary to fit our interests - he knows the Barossa like the back of his hand, and is across the history of the region, including the stories of well-known and small, really wonderful cellar doors. Best of all, you can talk to him in person on the phone to help design the experience beforehand. He is such a personable guy, and we loved his red trousers and bowler hat! For me, a Melburnian, and my Danish visitor, this was the most memorable and enjoyable day of our trip to South Australia.
