The location of the winery was picturesque and beautiful. Got two different wine tastings, with a few options to cater to many tastes. The cheese platter had a small but very delicious selection of cheese that paired excellently with the wines. Rowan was friendly and very knowledgeable in the history and the making of the wines, providing humor and intriguing stories.

Lovely morning with family at Wirra Wirra. Beautiful scenery - nestled amongst the gum trees, manicured garden with interesting features like a medievel catapult and quirky artworks. Can dine in or outside. "Harry's deli" has good food, good service. My pavlova looked like Christmas on a plate. Seriously! So well presented, very pretty and most importantly, tasty! Others had hot chips, cheesecake and sticky date pudding. Very happy. Children were given puzzle sheets to do and colour in, which they greatly enjoyed. Really lovely morning. Will happily return and recommend.

Great wine, great food. Not only a great winery, Wirra Wirra has a super restaurant. My chicken breast with pasta was delicious boxed down with a glass of Shiraz.

We had a lovely lunch in the courtyard. Very tasty, quickly served. And we could have our dog with us in the courtyard. Lovely place.

We visited Harry’s Deli for our 20th wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint. We enjoyed a beautiful bottle of 2016 Catapault Shiraz paired with the kingfish and chicken entrees and beef brisket and Asian duck noodle salad for mains. Food was amazing and views were lovely. The service was great and the prices were reasonable. Definitely worth a visit whilst McClaren Vale.

We celebrated my husband's 60th at Wirra Wirra last weekend in a private room which was beautifully set up. It was amazing and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The wines are top notch as was the food and service - we cannot fault anything! We were able to experience setting off the catapult (organised in advance) and my husband was able to also ring the Anglican Church Bell that's on site at the end of the day. We cannot recommend Wirra Wirra highly enough and if we ever want to hold another special event in SA, Wirra Wirra will be at the top of our list of places to hold it. Karly was amazing to deal with right from the start - an amazing human being always smiling and accommodating! We'd like to personally thank her wholeheartedly - we were in great hands! We'd also like to thank staff member Luke who assisted Karly on the day as well as the Catapult team Keith and Shane.

Wirra Wirra will always be 5/5. The wine is beautiful, with reasonably priced tastings that showcase the incredible wines on offer. Bec was very very very knowledgeable about the wine, vineyards, production process, the grapes and everything in between. Her bubbly personality and willingness to answer questions made the tasting not only delicious but informative too.

Plenty of parking available at Wirra Wirra too. Great location that is also child friendly too. The environment is steeped in rich heritage of delicious wines coupled with the country feeling of McLaren Vale.

Next we trotted over to Harry’s Deli. The catering manager Carly was just as excellent as the food. Our server was attentive, considerate, professional and polite. The food portions were generous and reasonably priced. We shared our smaller plates and our mains. The variety on the menu is perfect for the venue and has something to cater to all.

Wirra Wirra wines are a staple in our home and we walked out with a few to add to the collection. Another gorgeous trip to a place that feels like walking into a welcoming and warm home. It’s accessible all year round with flat ground for wheelchair and mobility access, plus indoor and outdoor seating with the fire roaring in winter means visiting all year round is a breeze.

We will always come back here for a lovely weekend meal. It truly feels like luxury meets the comforts of home. An asset to McLaren Vale.

Open 7 days for lunch My husband and I had a delicious lunch here. I love that it is open 7 days as it is quite hard to find food on a Monday and Tuesday around McLaren Vale. The food was outstanding! We had the steak and the brisket and was pleased that while the meat was cooked fine dining style each dish also had appropriate accompaniments. This meant you didn’t have to purchase additional sides making the meals value for money.

Harry’s Deli was recommended to us and did not disappoint. Our group of eight (all from interstate) enjoyed the best service - we had the a la carte menu and all meals were just delicious. Great wine and great food.

Exceptional. Wonderful tour, wines and chocolates. We will be back. Excellent experience. Our host, Luke, was exceptional and patiently answered all our questions. We even rang the "Bell". Wonderful wines, chocolates and experience.

Large winery with restaurant and tasting area. Set in gorgeous gardens and surrounding landscape. Delicious range of reds, whites and pinks. Post and rail fence is largest example I’ve ever seen!

This was a lovely winery - the building was beautiful both inside and out and the charcuterie board was delicious (they even made it completely gluten free!)

Nice wines and experience We had an amazing tour of the estate followed by a tasting of 5 wines, all of which were delicious. The estate is in a beautiful location with views across the vineyards.

We had the set menu for lunch. So much food! The kingfish was our favourite. Very fresh and delicious. It was lovely to have it with the wine pairing. Beautiful setting also.

Lovely place to have lunch. I ordered the Trott Pie and hubby had the Lamb shoulder with Hummus. The presentation was excellent, only thing was, maybe the chef could leave out the olives in the pie, as it gave it a briny bitterness to an otherwise perfect pie. Also my husband would have liked a couple of triangles of flatbread to go with his lamb and hummus.
Wine was excellent I had the Catapult Shiraz, and hubby the Absconder Grenache.

What a pleasant surprise We did a run down to McLaren Vale just for a poke around to see some of the wineries. We had had d'Arenberg put the hard word onto use for an entry fee (even before a civil hello), then been over to Coriole already (another delight, and review coming) and were in the mood for a tasting and something light to eat. It was suggested that we might want to try Wirra Wirra, and so we popped into the car for the short drive there and were so pleasantly surprised when we got there.

Their facility is a lovely setting overlooking the vines, with a huge grassed area and both indoor and outdoor tasting tables. We thought we'd match our tasting with a platter for lunch and were blown away when the platter arrived. So much good local produce, and the pate was amazing.

Jacob was looking after us, and his knowledge was superb. Tied to his easy conversation style, it made for an extremely enjoyable few hours.

We had our pups with us, and after we finished eating we went and got them and they joined us at our outdoor table while we finished a glass of our fav wine from the day, and followed it up with some great tea and coffee.

All the staff were attentive and friendly, so all in all just a great afternoon out.

(Please note: Tripadvisor forced us to answer about a tour. We did not do a tour at all, just the tasting and platter. Making that a required answer is just ridiculous on their part when a venue doesn't only do tours.)

Had a wine tasting with out of state friends.
Enjoyed a nice platter which was pretty good value, just needed to order more bread. Overall was lovely, however we were disappointed on payment that the $15pp tasting fee wasn't waived with purchasing bottles of wine!
Totally understand tasting fees but everywhere else it's taken off on purchase.
Probably won't be back anytime soon a shame as our family of 14 is visiting and where putting together ideas for places to visit. This sadly won't be on the list.

We ran an event called @recycledrunwaymv and everyone at Wirra Wirra were helpful, polite and professional. The cheese boxes from Henry’s Deli and wine were great quality and we loved worked with this fabulous business.

This was our first stop on the tasting tour, and I'm writing this review after tasting at three different vineyards. Positive aspects include the wine server's excellent performance—providing clear and insightful information without unnecessary chatter. The second positive aspect is the variety of tasting packages available. Unfortunately, our choice didn't quite satisfy me, as reflected in the scores I've included in the attached picture. However, I believe it's worth giving another chance. On my next visit, I'll definitely try a different tasting package and update my review accordingly. Additionally, it's worth mentioning that if you participate in a tasting, you can explore the vineyard for free.

Very nice cellar door and beautiful winery. Cellar door has a restaurant within but we only wine tasted today. The wines were great and we purchased a mixed case including back vintages. Thr grounds are lovely. There is a viewing platform for photos of the vineyard. Lots of history.

This is the only place that seems to be available for reservations over the weekend, and unfortunately, now we understand why. Our experience was generally okay until we ordered "What Harry Would Have." The trouble began when the wine wasn't served, as we waited patiently for the main course after we finished the entree.

Notably, we observed that guests arriving after us we served promptly. We finally inquired about our delayed main course and wine nearly 30 minutes later.

It's disheartening to note the apparent disparity in service. Certain tables were attended only when prompted (especially the tourists), while others received proactive check-ins. We will certainly inform them about the unsatisfactory quality of the main course if they came to us – dry and not adequately warm. But no one approached us.

Adding to the disappointment, the double charge for the wine, which was rectified without an apology when we highlighted the oversight, was disconcerting. One can't help but wonder if such oversights are intentional, especially towards tourists from Singapore like us, or the broader Asia Pacific region. It's crucial to emphasise that the expectations and experiences of guests from different parts of the world matter and should not be treated with indifference.

Excellent wines, beautiful location The winery is well laid out with beautiful buildings, garden areas, and an explanation of its history. The wine tasting options are great. 2023 Grenache Rose is excellent as are most of their reds. A great deli option is available for light food choices. Well worth a visit.

A wonderful winery, with affordable high quality wines but the highlight of our visit and in fact the highlight of our weeks stay was meeting Sam at cellar door who provided the most amazing wine experience we could have ever imagined. Wine knowledge provided was a joy to listen to and we walked away with wonderful appreciation of what it takes to deliver a quality wine. A young man with an old man’s wisdom and experience and a wonderful way to communicate a complex process into a simple explanation. A real ambassador for the winery.

Tasty wine in a lovely environment We had the lovely Rebecca as our guide and her enthusiasm for wine was infectious and our whole group got into the wine tasting. She was very knowledgeable and injected lots of humour into her presentation. Very good wine and tasty food in the restaurant. Highly recommended

Best winery we have been to. Food is good and very flexible options.what you will find is the exceptional customer service. We went for our anniversary and the staff was just so welcoming and friendly. We bought a bottle of wine which we dropped accidentally and the chef actually got replaced our bottle with a new one. Where they did not need to do but they showed us the real meaning of customer service. We were just so out of words by this gesture.

Best experience I’ve had in the McLaren Vale area so far. All staff are really helpful and wine tasting is so much more than drinking the wine. Rowan at Wirra Wirra knows his wines from soil to bottle and every question in between. He talked me through sampling different wines and vintages and the complexities of what makes good wine. Awesome value. Thanks Wirra Wirra.

Wirra Wirra produces a wide range of wines that are sustainably grown. There is food available but we just did a tasting at the cellar door. Wines were delicious and tasting was well priced at $10 for 5 tastings. The Classic Cellar Door features reds (shiraz, and some fun blends including temperanillo/touriga) while the RGT has a riesling, chardonnay, 2 shiraz from different vineyards, and a cab sav.

Great venue, good food and wine, generally well run, I have been many times over the years. Harry’s deli is great -the menu while small does change seasonally with lovely offerings for lunch. Note it closes at 4pm, whereas the tasting room closes at 5pm. The tasting room is a bit more “stuck up” now with set tastings, I preferred the previous more casual approach. The grounds are beautiful.

We came in for a wine tasting with some friends and found this place so lovely! Josh was incredible and went above and beyond to make our wine tasting experience a memorable one. He was funny and welcoming but also incredible insightful with his experience in winemaking and the history of Wirra Wirra. Would definitely recommend a tasting with Josh if you get the chance!

Great day at Wirra Wirra Great fun with Rowan hosting us for Shiraz Revolution, including a view over the vineyards, a winery tour, ringing the Angelus Bell (from the historical St Aloysius church at Sevenhill) and comparative tastings of Wirra Wirra's different shiraz offerings. Enjoyed the Trott (Catapult, Woodhenge, cricket) & RSW stories & a great lunch at Harry's Deli. Highly recommend wines - especially The Angelus Cabernet Sauvignon, the Lost Watch Riesling & RSW shiraz.

Lovely wine tasting with Julie On a trip through Adelaide we visited with a friend who lives locally. The wines are good and Julie gave a very informative and friendly overview - thanks Julie! Afterwards we had lunch in the restaurant - very nice!

Worra Worra saved the day! The aim of my day was to take overseas guests, who had never seen a vineyard, on a wine tasting experience. We had a tight schedule as we had to pick up guests from a cruise ship, get them to the winery and get them back to the ship by 3.00pm. Rowan and the other staff at Wirra Wirra couldn't have been more helpful. Our guest was late getting off the ship but the staff adjusted all the time frames so he was able to go on a Trotts Tales experience, see the Scrubby Rise Vineyard, learn about the history and the wine making process and of course taste beautiful wines with an accompanying fruit and cheese platter.
We then went through to Harry's Deli where they prioritised our order so that we had time to eat our beautiful meal before we had to head back to the ship.
Without the support and flexibility of the Wirra Wirra staff our day would have been a disaster. Instead it was an experience that our overseas guest will never forget!!

Shiraz tastings Our tour guide Lena was fun, knowledgeable and very informative with all aspects of the winery, the Shiraz tastings and how the wine is made. She even gave us a few tastings of wines that were not on the list. Very fun day! thoroughly enjoyed it!

Slow and a quiet day Dropped in for a quick bite. Tuesday lunch time but not that busy. From web order to final service 34 minutes for x2 panini and x1 hot dog is very slow. Plus there was 5 minutes between paninis. Food ok bit a bit over priced

Shiraz sampling We did the hour long tour and shiraz sampling.
We were welcomed by friendly staff unlike others had mentioned and found her and other staff engaging and informative throughout.
Very enjoyable and would certainly recommend it for the $70

Worth the visit We spent a few hours here sampling the shiraz and enjoyed the surroundings food and all the staff throughout were super friendly.
Wine was good and we enjoyed the shiraz sampling and food was tasty and filling.

Pushed through like cattle Came for a wine tasting because we were in the area, nearby Serafino was absolutely lovely so we were in good spirits. German lady at the bar (Freida) was very dismissive, when prompted for a bit of information about the wine she had recommended she gave us the Title only and walked away. Still not sure what we tried but it was lovely. Thank you Freida. Prompted us with an eftpos machine a minute after sitting down. We obvious didn't stay long.

One must appreciate the work and effort that goes into such a place.
This was our first time here and what a magical experience.
As soon as you enter this Winery it feels welcoming, warm and inviting.
The staff greeted us straight away and they were so polite, friendly and up for a chat.
My father and l were seated and proceeded to order wine and my father ordered Son of Trott Pie and l ordered the Confit Duck Leg w/Asian salad. To wash the meals down l ordered a bottle of Rose and a Sav Blanc for dad.
The meals and wine were absolutely fantastic and our 2hrs there was absolutely superb.
Thank you to the staff, chefs and establishment.

Worth a visit for lunch and a wine tasting We had lunch here and did one of the wine tasting. Lunch was very good. The servings were large and the service was fairly quick, given it was a Sunday and busy. The wine tasting was also enjoyable. There is a variety to choose from and the staff are very knowledgeable. There is no pressure to buy any wine, although of course we did! Would recommend this winery if you are in the area.

Went for a wine tasting and lunch. Beautiful red wines. Bought two bottles of wines. Lunch was amazing. We ordered the garlic bread for starters...so delicious!! For main course we ordered beef pie and potatoes and beef ragu pasta. The sauce with the pie and potatoes was delicious . The pasta was delectable and filling. Dessert was just as good. No criticism of anything at all. Will definitely come back!!

Dog friendly which was lovely and good service from one staff member. (Long coloured hair - sorry we didn't get your name). Wine was good but I wouldn't pay the price for the expensive ones... Thought they were well over priced.
