I'm sorry to hear you were not able to do a tasting with us- we do strongly recommend making a booking in advance to secure a spot and encourage this for other areas in the Barossa also. We are doing our best to manage staff resourcing and ensure we have as much availability as we can, booking in advance helps us to ensure we can offer the best experience possible.

All hype its a beautiful place but to many rules to follow.
If you sit outside near the restaurant you cant drink alcohol if you sit in jacobs creek you cant eat food. They did not have a high chair for the baby. And the service was slow. The place is good. But the over all experience is poor.

Jacobs Creek Winery at Barossa Valley is well worth the trip. Very popular and there are regular bus tours so make sure it's first on your list if your planning a wine tasting and vineyard tour like we did. We got there at opening time and they serve free barista coffee. Lovely! Did the wine tasting and well worth the money.

An exceptional wine tasting experience at Jacob’s Creek! The staff were incredibly knowledgeable, welcoming, and passionate about their wines, making the experience both educational and enjoyable. Each tasting was perfectly curated, highlighting the region's best flavors. The setting was stunning, with beautiful vineyard views that added to the charm. Whether you're a wine enthusiast or just looking for a relaxing day out, Jacob’s Creek is a must-visit when you in Adelaide. Highly recommended!

I recently had the opportunity to visit Jacob's Creek winery in Barossa Valley, and I was very impressed. The winery is located in a beautiful setting with rolling hills and vineyards. The grounds are well-maintained and there is a lovely garden area where you can relax and enjoy the views.
We also had lunch at the Harvest Kitchen restaurant, and the food was delicious. We started with a shared antipasto platter, which was full of fresh and flavorful ingredients. For our main course, I had the lamb shank, which was tender and flavorful. My wife had the steak, which she also enjoyed.
Unfortunately, we were not able to do a wine tasting as they were very busy. However, we were able to purchase a few bottles of wine to take home.
Overall, I had a great experience at Jacob's Creek winery. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful and relaxing day out in the Barossa Valley. Make a reservation for a wine tasting, especially if you are visiting on a weekend.
The winery is open from 10am to 4.30pm daily. There is plenty of free parking available on site.

The area set up for the wine tasting was away from the public area so nice and quiet. Our host was very knowledgeable on the wines and the double barrel range. We tried 5 different versions, each better than the last and gave a new insight to the different blends, which has helped us make better choices at the local bottle shop when buying this brand.
An enjoyable couple of hours at a very reasonable price, just wish we had chosen the lunch option as it was a great day and a lunch with the wines would have rounded it off nicely.

Ordered the Beef pie. Please, if you are going to charge 18 dollars for a pie, serve in on a china plate, with proper cutlery.
We ate in the cafe, so to have the pie come out on a cardboard tray and sitting on a bed of fresh spinach with tomato sauce in a cardboard tub is insulting. The wooden knife and fork was the icing on the cake.
It also does not help the experience when the pie is not hot. (Perhaps the inedible cold spinach underneath the pie a contributing factor).
A request for an extra hot coffee which was Luke warm and weak certainly capped off this memorable experience.
If unable to give commitment to deliver an acceptable standard in the Cafe for service and food delivery, then perhaps for the winery’s best interest, it would be best to close it down.
This experience has ensured that we will never visit the Jacob’s Creek winery again.

I'm sorry to hear that your experience at Jacob's Creek did not meet your expectations on this occasion. Our food offering in the Cafe is a lighter option for food which can be enjoyed in the Cafe space or outside on the lawn area, or even taken away to enjoy in another area of our site, the main reason for us providing it on recyclable plates and cutlery, to give flexibility to enjoy our spaces.
if you wish to enjoy a full dining experience, our restaurant partner Harvest Kitchen is open to enjoy a choice of two menu offerings for lunch.
We will provide the feedback on the food itself to Harvest Kitchen, and also re-visit our coffee training with team members to ensure our coffee service is of good quality at all times.

harvest kitchen food was delicious, well portioned. Views across the vineyard amazing. Staff friendly and knowlegable. Wine tasting included with meal...not much of a wine drinker. The Tawny sour with lunch was my choice of drink, fantastic and well worth the trip alone. Regardless, the wife and I had fun savoring the different wines. Very fun and memorable 45th birthday lunch! We came to visit the place as we are proud to show it to my sister and family who were visiting Adelaide. We loved the place and was able to do the tasting earlier as what we have expected. The staffs were polite and they knew we would like to do the tasting but dont have the time so they were able to accomodate us and made some arrangements. We were hesitant to buy the 57 Rare Aged Tawny but ended up on coming back after tasting other wines from other wineries. Taste is much better but price is almost the same. We bought the 57 yo Tawny and Double Barrel Shiraz. We highly recommend the wines in Jacob’s Creek. 💖🍷🍸

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback on your experience with us.
We will pass on your comments to our restaurant partner regarding the food offering.
With regards to the tasting experience, I'm unsure if the experience that you reviewed was indeed the experience you took part in, as we haven't hosted a Double Barrel experience for a group of 10 people recently. We strongly recommend for group tastings, to book prior to visiting to ensure that we have a space available as we have limited resources and spaces that can accommodate groups of this size.
We do aim to maximise the use of all of our spaces when busy if the tasting bars are already full with bookings, in this instance we were only able to accommodate in a space at the end of cellar door close to the door that leads out to the lawn area.
I will certainly take the feedback back to our team and to our restaurant partner.

But it didn't stop there. Even our friends from Sydney, who are also Asian Australians and speak perfect English, were treated rudely by Dru. Meanwhile, he showered white Anglo guests with smiles and kindness. It's sickening to witness such blatant discrimination in this day and age.
Not only was our lunch ruined by Dru's appalling behavior, but when we raised the issue with the manager, Pete, he dismissed our concerns with a feeble excuse about it being a "busy day." This is not just a matter of bad service; it's a matter of basic human decency. From my observation, Indian guests get the worst treatment.
Jacob's Creek, you need to do better. Address the racism within your staff ranks and create an environment that embraces diversity. We won't be returning until this is rectified, and we'll be spreading the word about our horrific experience to anyone who will listen. Shame on you.

I took my Sydney visitors to the winery today.
As we arrived, we wanted to do some wine tasting but was politely told by a staff that online booking was required and today sessions were booked out.
We then headed to checkout the wines on display between the Cafe and entrance.
We were pleasantly greeted by the enchanting Emily. After a brief chat, she found out we were unable to have a tasting session. She kindly offered to let us try any wines we wanted. And we ended up tasting the double barrel matured Shiraz finish in VSOP barrel.
Full mark for Emily for terrific customer service. Please send her our regards.

A top-shelf, well presented, relaxing and modern take on a winery…
We dinned at the Wine Cafe and had the ‘Feed Me Eden’ experience - costing $59 per person…
From this menu we could choose options:
We went for the Torzi-MATTHEWS olives, fennel seed and chilli, followed by Chickpea hummus, hemp seed zaatar and sprouted chickpea, followed by Market Broccoli, Smoked White Bean and Olive Granola, then Gumshire Pork with Toasted Buckwheat and Pomegranate. Finally the Pezznati Zuchinni, Burnt Brown Onion and Quince Glaze.
The grounds were well presented, with options for seating in and out - a neat bar, tasting area and purchase options.
Not cheap, however service, food and presentation of both the food and dining areas were first class.
Highly recommended for a special occasion.

A couple of small things which if addressed/allowed would have made for a 5 star experience. First, we had a designated driver who we were told over the phone would be provided a complimentary non alcoholic beverage, this did not eventuate. Second, we wanted to order some desert from the harvest kitchen menu which we were told we could do only via the cafe counter, when we went to the counter we were told we could not order from the menu, the only dessert available at this time were a few remaining pastries.

Beautiful winery and great wines. $55 per head for a picnic of two basic platters shared between 9 people is a bit over priced though.
Not pleased with Dru’s service in the beginning. I spilt my glass of wine as the table was wobbly and as my friend lent her elbow on the table the wine spilt all over the table and her. Dru bought over a tea towel which we were thankful for however it wasn’t enough and I asked if we could please have some paper towel or serviettes.. he proceeded to point at the tea towel which was already soaked through. I thought that was really rude and arrogant. I work in customer service and I wouldn’t have the attitude he had regarding an accidental spill. It happens. Also in future, paper towel soaks up liquid much easier than a tea towel.
I’d steer clear of this place. Very much a tourist trap. Smaller wineries close by have much better service and the staff to actually serve you.

Small platter box was not good value at all. A small cheese , too many dull crackers ,dried fruit and some odd tasting terrine ? had to search for utensils after it was given to us. Left hungry!
Witnessing staff asking new guests if they had a booking felt rude and unwelcoming I understand the need to book but surely the offer of enjoying a glass of wine and waiting for next available time is a better way to approach new arrivals !

As we were in the Barossa for the weekend & this was our day two, we'd already had pretty much the same lunch the day before (at maggie beer's farmshop) & our accomodation had generously provided cheese & crackers, so by this time we were a little cheesed out! This is no one's fault & GREAT that local products are celebrated & promoted. I share this so that viewers are aware & can pace themselves accordingly. We always love to hear when guests have enjoyed their experience with us- being able to see the different grape varieties in our display vineyard is certainly a highlight, and it's great to hear that Louise was able to make your tasting with us memorable.

When I booked for the picnic, I did mention that one of the attendees was lactose intolerance and unfortunately that was not catered to.

My sincerest apologies for this error regarding dietary requirements. I have followed up with the team as we do cater to dietary requirements as part of our picnic experience, and this should have been prepped for as part of your booking.
My apologies once again, and I hope we can welcome you back to Jacob's Creek in the future.

What a fantastic experience. We were lucky enough to be served by Dru. He has probably forgotten more about wine and the Barossa region than most people know. A great character, and awesome host. Will definitely be back next time we are over from Fremantle as this was, by a country mile, the highlight of our winery visits.

This former Orlando Gramp property has been massively developed into a great wine centre. There's a history display, merchandise, café, restaurant, toilets, and massive bar. Outside is a beautiful lawn, landmark gum tree, deck, sample vineyards, seating, a horticultural area, and great views. Book a visit to avoid disappointment, particularly for a wine tasting, or you will have to find a spot on the lawn. Our wine tasting was well executed despite feeling like a production line. The wine packages are worth a look at least to take home some cellar-only products. The free nationwide box delivery is a great benefit.

My wife's & my "house wine" (our "go-to" everyday-drinking wine, is the Jacob's Creek 1847 Range Chardonnay, and when we let Shannon know this, the service became even warmer and more personal).
The venue itself is very sleek and modern, something which wouldn't be out of place in the Napa Valley or Santa Barbara wine regions of California. It features a Wine Café from where you can book the Picnic Experience, and enjoy food and wine outside on the beautifully maintained grounds, amongst the vines at Jacob's Creek.
Thanks to Shannon and his team for having made the four of us feel as welcome and special as you did !!

Our staff kept walking away during the wine testing ended up with another staff jumping in to pour the next bottle as he could see we were bored, the wine was nice but would have been better to know some more about what we were drinking.
Thought the picnic box would have had some local small goods but only had a duck pate I could get from coles.

We agree! The coffee is excellent and to be able to walk through the vineyards or down to the creek is amazing. Hope to see you again soon.

Don’t expect a tasting if you haven’t booked, “it’s been booked for weeks” - apparently the margins aren’t strong for tastings.
You can order by the glass, at this bar. They also have spirits, at the other bar, they don’t make “wining and dining” easy. It’s pretty, as are most places in the region that offer better experiences and customer service.
