This product is only available if it is pre-booked minimum 24hrs ahead.
Your purchase today will see you provided with boxed fresh scones baked locally, served with whipped cream and jam. Help yourself to the inclusive hot beverage on board our sightseeing cruise.
Be introduced to your crew and sit back to see Adelaide from the best seat in the house, cruising along The Torrens River in the heart of the city in a heritage icon. Admire the ever-changing landscapes that line the waterways as you listen to live commentary by your Captain on the history of the area.
Boarding is at the Elder Park Landing where you will collect your pre-packaged Devonshire Tea and be invited to take a seat wherever the view is best.
There may even be some among you that would enjoy a glass of local bubbly to wash things down so it is probably now that we should let you know that we do have a licensed bar on board. Perhaps there may be a group of you travelling together that may wish to pre-order a bottle? Honestly, who are we to judge, it’s 5 o’clock somewhere right?
Please Note
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate dietary allergies but can substitute the scones for a slice of homemade Almond, Blueberry and Mandarin Cake – upon request

Captain is amazing he showed old pictures of same sites or historical facts
Kids can go and press the boat horn which is amazing they love it
I would recommend to anyone going on the cruise to book online. This guarantees a place on the tour. It's easy to follow on the website. From start to finish, it was a wonderful time.
It’s really quite like going back into time to small cruises with locals running the show. The staff were great - the Devonshire tea huge (2 massive scones, heaps of cream and jam plus a coffee/tea), and just a pleasant way to learn more about the city.
(You can tell that the “captain” giving the commentary loves his city!)
It could be vastly improved and made more interesting by including the Kaurna Indigenous cultural history and current Kaurna relationship with the modern-day city. The commentary provided was 99% white Australian &/or colonial related, with just a passing mention of the Kaurna people having predated &/or being around during colonial settlement.
Thank You Adelaide Popeye
We hopped off the tour at the Botanical Gardens which saved us another walking trip!
Captain was very interesting by explaining where we going & showing photographs of the start of the original Popeye
Would definitely recommend - great value.
Highly recommend this relaxing, beautiful trip in a great location. Thank you.
We had a delightful hour on the Popeye with a prepacked Devonshire Tea supplied.
The scones were large and fresh with ample Jam and Cream.
There was a constant commentary by the skipper and we saw and learned things about and around the Torrens that as locals we did not know before.
Thoroughly recommend this.
There is a bar on board to purchase snacks and drinks from.
We had absolutely stunning weather for our cruise.
People did not have to have pre purchased tickets; it is also possible to purchase tickets on site where the boat docks at Elder Park.
Many thanks for the lovely tour 🛥️🌊
Tip for anyone: try and and sit on the captains side of the boat - all the commentary is focussed on that side.
I just loved the “captain”. He was nice, funny and very knowledgeable. I bought the ticket from Agoda, $21 per person. 50 minutes enjoyable cruising.💝
Easy to get on and off.
Very clean on board.
Even a little bar and cafe on board. ????
Although only a short trip due to the rivers depth and the overflow at the other end I would highly recommend this trip
Nice relaxing 45-50 minute cruise with a trip along the Torrens River.
Very informative, crew pleasant and helpful.
Food / drinks available onboard.
Get to see Adelaide from another side.
Would recommend.
I have been told they also offer other events on board, on special occasions. Their website is well some and regularly updated so keep an eye for events to come.
I highly recommend River Torrens Popeye Cruise if you are visiting Adelaide.
The kids on board had opportunity to beep the boat's horn, which went down well.
Locals were friendly and waved as we passed
Lovely weather
Showed Adelaide off well
Only 45 mins
$26 per person
Questionable value
But good service and commentary
