Seeing street art. In context We loved this tour! Our guide’s knowledge of many of the artists and the culture of street art made for a fascinating and eye opening experience. We definitely would not have appreciated what we were seeing without Ben’s insights and explanations. The studio visit was an excellent end point to the tour, making real the relationship between street art and other art forms.

Highly recommend this tour if you’re into exploring the city with a local guide who can show you street art you would never find otherwise. Matt was awesome and told us stories about the art and artists you’re looking at - he was very genuine as one of the street artists himself, quite special. It was the perfect way to start a 4 day stay in Melbourne. Loved ending with visiting his co-op art space and an explanation on how these tours fund them all - thanks!

We had a great time walking around Melbourne to see the street art from graffiti, to murals. David is such a wonderful tour guide, he brought us to all the great art on the street and he explained all the art clearly. He was very informative and we enjoyed the experience.

Best thing to do In Melbourne Ben our guide was the best , knowledgeable about all aspects of street art and just an absolute legend himself . Street art is forever changing , sometimes art is replaced within 20 mins so the tour is never the same .

Street art Tour for all...not just tourists. The tour isn't just for tourists, we are both locals with an art background. We wanted to explore the street art scene with someone who works on the inside. There was lots of info about styles, experience, method, and discovering hidden little gems around the city was great. The tour ended back at Blender Studios where about 18 artists work. We had wine, cheese, a tour of the studio and great conversation.

An Upclose Street art experience My son and I had a really great time, even better that I had imagined. Our guide had an indepth knowledge of the local art and culture. It was filled with awesome photo oppertunities. A very up close and immersive experience. It would be difficult understand the diversity and back stories of the artists any other way.

What an immersive experience. Our tour guide Tom was passionate and knowledgeable about all the street art, artist and culture. Getting to see the studios of lots of the artist was just the icing on the cake. I saw my own City with new eyes. Absolutely loved it.

We had a wonderful tour today with David. Although we are Melbourne locals, David was able to give us insight into both the street art scene, as well as lots of other aspects of Melbourne we didn’t know. The tour ended up in the studio where we were warmly welcomed by all the artists and given a comprehensive tour of the artists work spaces. The tour was a gift to my wife and won me many brownie points!
The standard of the art we saw was amazing. This tour gave us a better understanding of the amount of thought and talent that went into creating these works of art. We have a new found appreciation of street art which adds to our enjoyment of all these special spaces.

Excellent and informative tour! This tour was excellent! Our guide, Tom, is an artist and so very knowledgeable about the art and the area (lots of good food recommendations!). He was very engaging and thoughtful and worked to make sure we had a great tour experience. I really learned a lot. He showed us a wide range of work from small pieces, to large murals and pointed out things we would have never noticed like installations of small objects. We also enjoyed the tour of Blender Studios where we had some yummy snacks and met some of the artists. Great way to see some of the city and learn something new!

Fantastic insight into Melbourne laneways streetart Such an informative and enjoyable immersion into Melbourne's street art. Ben was friendly and gave us an insight into both the street art and the issues surrounding it. What historical and future glimmers their laneways are, and add to all that makes Melbourne a unique destination. Visiting Blenders Studios was also special and inspiring to any budding artists, and the wine and nibbles delicious!

This is such an amazing studio! Piya and Doyle were wonderful and happily accommodated us after my scheduling mishap. The Splash Lab is so much fun! The kids loved it! Can’t recommend this studio enough.

Great Introduction to Melbourne’s Street Art Scene! Very informative tour! I’m an experienced street art photographer, but still learned a lot - particularly about the local artists. The guide (Matt) was very knowledgeable and passionate! The tour focused on the Flinders Lane area, but prepared me to visit other locations in Melbourne on my own that have impressive street art collections, such as Fitzroy-Collingwood and Richmond. I also really enjoyed visiting the studio afterwards and meeting many the artists who work there. Highly recommended!

Such an incredible experience. The space was just so cool, Bridie our facilitator was so friendly and helpful and it was just really fun to throw paint around. Couldn't recommend it more and I'd really like to come back for another workshop.

We did the glow-in-the-dark splash paint workshop and it was a lot of fun. The studio itself is setup nicely with various artists and Bridie and Doyle made the workshop fun for everyone. Great activity to do as a date idea or with kids!

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, much of the city's disaffected youth were influenced by the graffiti of New York City, which subsequently became popular in Melbourne's inner suburbs, and along suburban railway and tram lines.

Street Art Tour - great experience. We went on the street at tour and had a really good time. The guide been was friendly accommodating and informative. We saw some parts of Melbourne that we never seen before following that we were back to the studio and saw how they work as a cooperative group - inspirational for anybody who is an artist. Thoroughly recommend!

Everyone must do this tour What an amazing tour, loved hearing about how graffiti has a language and walking the hidden laneways of Melbourne. To top it off we got to see the studio where a range of artists worked. Thank you Ben Barek, an amazing artist himself, who was out guide.

I had a large school group. The guide was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, passionate about street art, and great with the students. He was accommodating of negotiating with a wheelchair. Used this group a few times now and they're always excellent.

Go! Will open up your eyes to the world of street art Great street art tour. It opened my eyes to street art, the conversations street artists have with each other on the walls, the meaning behind some of it, and their culture. Well worth the time. Our tour guide, a street artist himself, was insightful and immersed in the scene for a few decades. Good tour for teenagers as well.

Must do in Melbourne. Small group tour led by an artist from Blender Studio. Each tour is different, reflecting the personality, taste and artistic interests of that specific artist/guide. Makes you see things you would never notice or understand. Eye opening and fascinating. Gives you new found respect for street artists. I would do this tour again any time I’m in Melbourne.

Fabulous lesson in Melbourne street art scene! Our guide was knowledgeable, passionate and had us thoroughly interested in the Melbourne street art. Pointing things out we’d have never discovered ourselves . Really interesting seeing the studios that many of the artists work from and meeting some of the artists.

Great street art experience. Very interesting street art walk in central Melbourne with a most knowledgeable guide, Salvo. The real value is understanding the various artists enroute and the relationship between the artists and the taggers. Down some lanes and alleyways where one would never usually venture. Big range of the types of street art all explained by our very chatty guide. Ended up at Blender Studios where artists have their own space and were working. A great experience and well worth the 3 hour duration.

Great cultural experience A great way to view the art, get to know the stories & culture about the medium & the world of street art. Our guide Ben looked after us & imparted a lot of information, pointed out certain works, gave history on the artists also helped us negotiate streets & tram. We saw & went to streets & areas we probably wouldn't have seen or viewed if on our own even with a map. I especially liked visiting Blender studios which included a nice afternoon tea with lots of beverages & treats to eat.

Informative and Fun This tour was way more informative than I imagined it would be and I found it very interesting. Having the tour run by the local artists themselves gives you more insight as well. Going to the studio afterwards was also cool, and having a snack and drink offered when we got there was delightfully unexpected!

I took my daughter, who is a young artist on this tour and it was amazing. The artist who took us on the tour was outstanding, she talked art with my daughter(which I didn’t understand much????), inspiring her to follow her passion even though it’s not street art. We really enjoy Melbourne from different angles, different view points, it was really interesting.

Only go if you are REALLY into street art… 3 hours is a long time Maybe this isn’t fair, but it wasn’t my spouse’s choice to go on this tour and not mine. I was worried about the 3 hour length. Well, I was right. Unless you are really obsessed with street art, about 45 min of the tour is interesting. The rest gets real boring (“My friend put this sticker up”). As well, I found it frustrating as the tour leader just talks in a normal voice, no projection at all, so unless you are standing right beside him it’s really difficult to hear anything at all. This tour would be much improved by being 1 hour or maybe 90 min max long. I do like some of the street art but some of it is just ugly bad graffiti. Honestly, I was mentally checked out the minute I asked the tour guide what he thought of rampant tagging of everything (this happens in my home city) and his opinion was that “it was cool”. Then I really regretted giving this tour my money and wished I pushed my spouse for a food tour instead.

Great Immersion experience into the culture of street art That our tour guide was an actual street artist and gave a great insight into the culture of street art that you wouldn’t get anywhere else I have a much greater appreciation for street, art and the artists as well. Best Walking Tour I Have Done This tour was absolutely fantastic! I couldn't recommend it more. Our tour guide, Akemi, had the most fascinating stories to tell and had a wealth of knowledge about the art form to share with us. I especially loved visiting Blender Studios and learning about all the artists who work there, and we even got to enjoy a cheese platter with some wine at the end of the tour, which was such a treat!

A highlight of our trip to Melbourne We could have come to the lane ways, taken a few photos, and moved on. Instead, we chose this tour and we are really glad we did. As a street artist himself, our guide explained the culture and helped us ‘read’ and interpret what we were seeing. The tour went places we would never have found ourselves, and the Blender Studio was fascinating.

Best Street Art Tour in Melbourne This is an amazing tour. Our guide - one of Melbourne's street artists himself - was able to give us great insights into the culture of Melbourne's art scene, the history behind much of the work, and the development of many of the artists whose work we enjoyed. Finishing the tour at Blender Studios gave us a chance to meet some of the artists and talk with them about their work and experience. And the tour fees help support the artists and their work.

Great insights I very much enjoyed my Melbourne Street Art walking tour. The guide's knowledge of and passion for the subject matter was obvious, and he seemed very appreciative of having the audience to share it with. The material he presented was informative, engaging, and held my attention for the full 2 1/2 hours. His guidance and insights measurably enhanced my appreciation for the street art and graffiti presented. However, being that he was an artist first and a guide second, he wasn't the most powerful or loud speaker in the world, so it was fortunate that the group was relatively small (8 total). The tour was well-paced and the included cheese/fruit/etc. spread at the end was a great touch. Highly recommended!

A great tour with James Wilson Fantastic tour with a knowledgeable local artist, James was friendly and approachable, sharing lots of anecdotes and small details pointed out that i would have missed on my own , as well as practical points around doing the work, and wide ranging discussions on the effects of gentrification and covid we also saw a couple of laneways i had never seen before with works by Ghostpatrol and Rone and ending with major bonus for me - drinks ( a great range of soft options beside wine and beer) and nibbles at the Blender Studios after - talking with Artists and seeing the work ( and grabbling a few bits for the hoard) highly recommended!

Street art with an artist -GREAT Guide Gigi made this experience very worthwhile -we had seen some of the lanes and street art already but her stories and pointing out some things we had missed plus seeing new art added in previous few days -made this whole experience even better. I would remind you there is lots of walking but also plenty of time to view the art. Being able to go to the studio and see some artists working and to view others work finished off the day nicely. Plus we got some great street art earrings!!

Opened up my perspective on graffiti! I really appreciated that a graffiti artist led the tour. I am not a huge fan of graffiti, yet he showed me the other side of it, all the skill and passion of it. He was so knowledgeable about all the different spots, pointing out interesting pieces and facts. He really helped me expand my perspective!
