Scott customized our hike based on exactly what we were looking for that day, and it was absolutely beautiful. We ended the day with a lovely lunch, followed by a visit to the Megalong Valley for wine and a charcuterie board, which was the perfect finish. The entire experience was exactly the kind of little private escape we had hoped it would be.
We highly recommend Scott and Your Sydney Guide, and we will absolutely be calling him again next time we’re back in Sydney.
From the very start, Scott, the owner, was fantastic. He helped us secure a highly sought-after date, took the time to understand what mattered most to our family, and thoughtfully tailored the itinerary to match our interests. Most importantly, he paired us with Sam as our tour guide.
Sam was, without question, the star of the day and one of the highlights of our entire trip to Australia. She was the perfect guide: warm, knowledgeable, flexible, and genuinely engaging. Her background in animal care, sanctuary work, and even venomous snake handling added incredible depth to everything we saw and learned in the Blue Mountains. She shared insights about wildlife, ecology, and everyday life in Australia that made the day both fascinating and fun — and the time absolutely flew by.
What truly set Sam apart was how naturally she connected with our family. She instantly bonded with our 12-year-old daughter (who later declared Sam her favorite person she met in Australia), and even went out of her way to make a spontaneous stop at Woolworths to hunt down Pascall Clinkers — not on the itinerary, but unforgettable for our daughter. Sam was also a great photographer, a wonderful conversationalist, and even gave invaluable advice for driving on the left when we headed to Melbourne.
Throughout the day, everything felt perfectly paced. We were always where we needed to be, yet never rushed, and Sam made it easy to adjust plans on the fly. Saying goodbye at the end of the tour genuinely felt sad — a true sign of how special the experience was.
If you’re considering a tour, book with Your Sydney Guide. The experience is top-notch, deeply personalized, and absolutely worth every penny. They delivered more than we hoped for.
It was an amazing and fantastic day, in fact the one of our best days in Australia. She knew a lot about the surroundings, she was also extremely pleasant and helpful throughout the whole day, showing us places we wouldn't have seen and experienced, if we had chosen to go on a bus tour.
So we give our best recommendations from here.
As an Australian I thought I knew this city but I can truly say that before this tour with Scott I had not seen many of the spots he took us to. Scott explained the history of this amazing city and its surrounds along with many other points of interest as to the spots we were taken to .
What makes a great tour guide is passion , knowledge , inspiration and preparation and the ability to read his clients as to when times to be accompanied and left to our own devices .,Scott listened to our requirements and ticked every box and some special surprises were thrown in . Thanks Scott for the great pie shop , you were right that pie was the best .
Whether it be a great famous pie or a top restaurant suggestion to the hidden spots with great views Scott had it all .
Your personal touch made us miss you and your great city which you know so well .
Thanks very much to the team at Your Sydney Guide and thanks Scott .
Easy 2+ hr trip to and from Sydney.
Deserve 5+ stars.
The tour can be personalized to your taste.
Through out the day Charlie was very engaging and shared lots of historical facts as well as current local knowledge. We ended the trip with a ferry ride into Sydney harbour and circular quay.
Would highly recommended this trip, well worth the money.
In February before a transpacific cruise,
Blue Mountains and Tour of Sydney.
We Loved both tours!
My husband is still taking about the
Blue Mountains tour and how Fabio helped with the wheelchair accessibility.
It was wonderful to be able to see this beautiful part of your country.
I would recommend this company 100%
All pre-tour planning and email conversations were timely, thorough and satisfying!
Upon arrival via the Celebrity Edge .our tenders delivered us to the Opera House Wharf much later than scheduled, and Charlie was there waiting at the turn- around behind Sydney Opera House welcoming us to the city in his very luxurious Range Rover!
Our day of Discover Sydney began with a bouquet of greetings, smiles and excited anticipation!
We headed right into The Royal Botanic Gardens where Charlie began sharing with us the history of Sydney .he sprinkled his history lessons with information about the local flora and fauna ..Sitting on Mrs. Macquarie's chair, being amazed at the Merton Bay Figs and the gorgeous and raucous birdlife!!!!! We were enthralled with Charlie's breadth of knowledge and his calm, humorous and tranquil comportment.
As we drove from place to place, Charles answered our queries about Sydney, Sydney's history, government past & present and drew our attention to the historic architecture and the interesting animal life we passed along the way .we trailed after a Kookabura and watched as it pulled worms from the ground and another Kookabura in a tree "beating a mouse to tenderize it" before eating!!!!!! We were regaled by cockatoos, black swans, ibis, and australian magpies to name but a few!!!
Our travels took us to and thru The Rocks, Darlinghurst, Moore Park, Woollahra, and to Centennial Park! At Centennial Park Charles brought us on a walk to a huge forest area that was home to thousands of Flying Foxes hanging from trees high up in the canopies! It was magical!!!
Then on thru Waverly Park, Rose Bay, Vaucluse and to the famous Bondi Beach!!!! Charles gave us time to walk in every location, take pictures, and enjoy the exquisite views .we enjoyed a lovely coffee at one of his favorite cafes .and throughout our day together Charles was brilliant companion, teacher, guide and friend.
We could not have been happier with our tour with Charles. Every minute was packed with details and history of the beauty of Sydney and Surrounds we can surely say that Charles expertly guided us into falling in love with Sydney. Thank You Charles!!!!!
Next visit .how bout the Blue Mountains, Charles???!!!!!!
Many thanks! Madelyn and Alex
It was even his birthday on one of the days he was with us.
He was our close friend that we finally got to meet again and reconnected with for our first visit to Sydney; that's how it was having the tours with Charlie. We were comfortable in his vehicle and he assisted us all the way had a wheelchair with us. Loved that he had an itinerary planned and ran it with us to align both our expectations. Got to see many hidden gems on both places and shared a good amount of stories that really will stay with us.
We also got to meet Scott on one of the tours, he is also an awesome guy.
Your Sydney Guide, the easiest recommend for Private Tours in Sydney, no other choice.
Great way to see and learn about Sydney. Would highly recommend Scott and his services!
So knowledgeable. After taking the time to get to note us, he tailored the day exactly to what we wanted to see.
We stopped in lots of smaller villages and lookouts, and saw more of Sydney and the Blue Mountains than we imagined.
I’ll be recommending this tour to everyone who comes to Sydney.
The vehicle for the day was very comfortable and the air con was much needed since it was extremely hot out. The provided water certainly came in handy.
Scott certainly has eagle eyes, pointing out wildlife and even pulling over so we could watch a whale breaching while on the way to one of the parks. The views are stunning.
With having gone on a Monday many businesses are closed but it never felt like I was missing out on anything. Lunch was delicious and the wines were great.
No part of the drive was boring or uncomfortable. Scott is fun to chat with and knows a lot about the history of the area. More than enough stops if you need the toilet as well if that's something you need to think about.
If I am back in Sydney, I will certainly be looking up another tour.
A true “local,” Scott was extremely knowledgeable and informative about everything we could think of. To our surprise, we bumped into him the next day at a water ferry terminal!
If this is your first trip to Sydney, I would strongly encourage booking a tour with this outfit!
Lunch was at a place called Little Beach Boathouse by the seaside at Nelson's Bay. The weather was perfect and we saw a dolphin or two go by. Service at this restaurant was excellent.
Thanks once again, Scott for never letting us down. Trips with you is money's worth.
